If you're visiting this area this hotel is as central as possible. The rooms are larger than the Japanese average. However, be warned that the video on demand is actually only a choice of two channels one of which is terrible Japanese porn. Don't waste 1000 yen.

Good value for money hotel, it is more convenient to go to Mount Fuji and Gotemba Ole. You can see Mount Fuji directly on the double-bed rooms of the hotel. The twin-bed rooms are close to the railway. The lower-level rooms will be a bit noisy. Please pay attention when choosing a room. Walk a few minutes to Gotemba Station, and there is a free bus to Ole. There is a convenience store opposite the hotel, which is very convenient for shopping. There is a public bath on the first floor of the hotel, it is recommended to try. The room is relatively large at this price. It should be about 15 square meters, which is quite spacious in Japan.

We picked here because it was near to Gotemba Station and we wanted the free shuttle to Gotemba Premium Outlet on our next morning. Of course there's plenty of other great choices but we chose here for this very reason. It takes about 5-10 mins straight walk from the station to this hotel. There's only one ramen restaurant next to it, but they don't speak English so we ended up having our meal in the hotel instead. As expected, for any budget-travelling, the room are small (bigger than Lungwood Hotel on my first night) and bathroom even smaller. This is going to be standard review statement I'm going to give every hotel I stay in Tokyo. But I had one of the magnificent view in the morning. The Mount Fuji. The weather was good so I had a good glimpse of the majestic mountain. The stay came with breakfast so the food was average - a buffet mix of American breakfast and Japanese curry rice. (Malaysia has the best buffet line, btw) The bed are better here with better pillows. The room are generally clean. The remote controls are in Japanese - so use Google translate app to push the right buttons.

We went to the Gotemba Outlet before checking in. So we took a taxi from the outlet to the hotel about 1600yen. Mr Santosh checked us in and also provided many information about the hotel neighbourhood. I told him I will write about him in my review :) The hotel is in good location, close to Uniqo, Daiso, supermarket and many eateries. We even walk to the nearby JR gotemba easily. The room is big and we stayed on the 4th level which is on the same level as the viewing terrace. We can see Mt Fuji very clearly during the opening hours. The breakfast was ok, standard Japanese style. The onsen was a bit small but still adequate. Overall, a very new hotel and worth staying with them. Upon checked out, we walked to the nearby tomei-gotemba and took the direct bus back to Shinjuku.

We just couldn't gel with this hotel. I believe there are some great exterior views but one third of the hotel looks down on the motorway, If you are in the unlucky one third it is a tease, you go to breakfast, look out of the window there and realise you got the booby prize view. Now, the law of averages say this will happen occasionally but other redeming factors often make up or even alieviate. Not here as it just seems a sterile place with never rude but slightly awkward staff, the type that make you feel the place would run better without guests. The breakfast are cosy and good food, both Japanese and international. Very detailed selection. The teppanyaki restauarant simply isnt that - you dont see the cooking, just shown to a table / booth to which you are served - aviod. You can get a Mt. Fuji view from the top floor viewing area, but again what a sterile place. nothing on the walls, bench seating, two vending machines, think classroom. What a lost opportunity when you could have a small coffee area or evening bar. How this hotel is rated so high remains a mystery to me. How the room rate can be so high is just dowright confusing.

The breakfast is generally Japanese, there are not many types, the taste is OK, the soup is good, there is rice; the hotel is in a good location, very close to the Tomei Gotemba bus stop, which has a free shuttle to Outlets. You can also take the express bus to Tokyo, Nagoya, Kyoto and Osaka. The hotel has a parking lot. It is ok to travel with children. There should be no extra bed and no space. Mount Fuji can be seen in the window of the room on the side of Mount Fuji. It is not possible in other directions. It is best to confirm when booking.

I accidentally lived in a double bed room, and it was a surprise surprise for Mount Fuji in the morning to open the curtains.

A short taxi ride from the train / bus station cost 1010 yen. Added bonus for us is that we could do our laundry (I'd you don't have powder - 100yen per washing gel). Washing machine and dryer free. Rooms very clean, large with plenty of room. The free shuttle bus to the outlet stores is about a 600m walk, there is another bus stop 1 min walk from hotel which we were told cost 260yen. The restaurant on site was closed the night we stayed and although there was another Italian restaurant 100m around the corner we chose to taxi to Hamazushi - great place for cheap sushi! About 640yen by taxi. There are bus stops right by the hotel which I am sure will take you to/from city centre / train station but we didn't enquire / use as only staying one night. The manager speaks English adequately and although some of the staff didn't they we all exceptionally helpful. Overall excellent value for money.

It was our first time glamping as a family of four, with a 6-yr old and an infant. Friendly staff, and good amenity. We enjoyed spending some time on the playground, watching a short movie outside with a projector (provided in the room), and grilling out. We ran out of time, and did not have a chance to use the jacuzzi, but still had a great time as a family.

A fantastic hotel (and an only in Japan experience) I so enjoyed my two nights at Clad and encourage anyone to consider it as a stop near Fuji, even if they have no interest in the outlets. Basically it’s a brand new, design oriented hotel with a panoramic view of Fuji and gorgeous onsen. Ridiculously good value at A$250/night. Only catch/oddity is that it is (sort of) attached to an outlet mall. I stayed here as I wanted to break my trip between Tokyo and Kinosaki Onsen and ended up just loving it. The onsen is gorgeous and has lovely relaxing areas, good value scrubs / massages etc and just a lovely atmosphere. Also feels so much more real / Japanese than the tourist oriented Ryokans near Hakone, Kyoto etc (however lovely they are). The hotel restaurant is great - broad Japanese menu, great food, inexpensive and has an english menu (with all tablet based ordering). Nice breakfast that includes beautiful Japanese options and enough western options too. All up - I think you could stay here, enjoy the view/onsen and eat happily at the restaurant for a few days. I suspect the view of Fuji just can’t be beaten. It was glorious and perfectly clear 2 of the 3 days I was there. If you stay request the 8th floor as from that height you can’t see the development / road below. The staff were sweet and helpful - letting me into the room a bit early and forwarding my bag to Tokyo. Only negative is that you need to taxi to gotemba station but it was only about JPY1700. Alternatively you can take the free shuttle to the outlets and another to the station, but they only start at mid morning. A great inexpensive (but lovely and authentic) alternative to a full ryokan experience.

Although the traffic is a bit inconvenient, the hotel is still good. Fortunately, I opened the window the next morning to see the panoramic view of Mount Fuji in the sun. Only on this day, the mountain can't be seen on the day of walking. If you have hot spring baths, you have to pay a few dollars for the hot spring tax. The hot springs are good, one indoor and one outdoor. I always book the venue by myself. If you have a pass, you can take the Fujikyu Bus. There is a hot spring hotel station near the hotel, where you can take a bus to Sengoku. Transfer to other places in Hakone. Gotemba is 4.9 kilometers away from the hotel and costs 120 to 130 RMB. The breakfast is Western-style and exquisite.

A hotel in the forest, mostly Japanese people go on vacation. The front desk is like the landlord, because we went late. After dinner, he delivered the cooked meal to our room.
