|10.19km from city centerThe breakfast was nice . i also liked the environment and the colors the hotel used to decorate the hotel was very modern. There really wasnt much to do around the hotel within walking distance but it was fairly comfortable. The area was nt too noisy either. The only complaint is when i went to ask for a comb i was told that they sell hairbrushs. This had me confused because an insert in the room clearly stated that the front desk had these items. But i would recommend this place to others.

|9.92km from city centerThis was a great stay. We called ahead because we are towing a 42 ft fifth wheel. They assured me they could accommodate parking the big rig. Checked in and the girl on duty instructed us to park in front of hotel under lights so our rig would be in view of security cameras. Later I was having difficulty using Door Dash to order supper. She took over and ordered our dinner. Super nice. The room was spotless clean with comfortable bed. The girl on duty when I checked out was very nice and helpful too. Only downer was some guest was apparently perturbed that we used up several parking spots, there were plenty of open spots, and left an unsigned nasty note on our windshield. Guess some just have to complain. Many thumbs up for this property. We will stay again. 👍👍👍👍👍👍

|3.97km from city centerWe recently traveled to a nearby town to attend a college graduation. We chose this hotel based on its proximity to the university and only booked a hotel so that we wouldn’t have to be up and driving at 6 am. Best Western seemed like a good choice for a place we would be at for much other than sleeping. After checking in, we went to get dinner and then entered the hotel through the side door closest to our room. We were immediately greeted by the smell of sewer line. Upon entering our room, we noticed dirty walls and mirrors. The bathroom doorknob was falling off and had to have the screws tightened to be usable. I did that as best I could by hand. One of the hand towels had what I hope was a head hair on it. The bedding had stains on the sheets and comforter. They appeared old, which is slightly better. In the morning, we went to breakfast. The scrambled eggs looked like the hadn’t been cooked long enough and the sausage biscuits as a disturbing shade of gray. The coffee came out a light tan color and, along with the juice, was basically colored water. If I thought there was any chance of getting a different hotel room on graduation weekend for a major university, we would have left. As it was, we will just be sure to book with a higher quality hotel in the future.

The breakfast was great and provided me the food and coffee I needed to go about my day. This hotel is old. The furniture and finish carpentry are definitely banged up—the other reviews aren't lying about that. If you care about furniture that has seen better days then this may not be the hotel for you. As for me, this will be the only place I stay in Lubbock.

|1.78km from city centerParking is easy, check in was quick and friendly, the room was clean, the beds were comfortable, the shower was hot and had good pressure... We were in an even numbered room on the 4th floor and we could hear highway noise. It wasn't super loud, but it might bother a light sleeper. Ask for an odd numbered room if that will be an issue for you. It took about 9 minutes to get to the Visitor Center on campus. Easy peasy. Breakfast had oatmeal, eggs, sausage, pastries, cereal, yogurt, fruit, biscuits and gravy, and the hot food was hot and the cold food was cold.

The beds are comfortable and the rooms are always very clean. The breakfast is good, with a nice variety of foods, hot and cold. It is also within walking distance to quite a few restaurants.

|1.12km from city centerAbout 150 years ago when I was just out of college I took a job nearby and this hotel was a Holiday Inn. It’s very existence grew out of the May 1970 Tornado that urban renewed the whole neighborhood. Holiday Inn will not keep a property after it has aged out. That’s where the MCM Brand comes in attempts to operate it as it once was when it was worthy of a name brand. They are in quite a few places in my state but they don’t impress me. They buy hotels and keep operating them until they breathe their last gasps of air. This one is certainly out of date but it does have a lot of meeting space and conference areas to use. My room was plenty OK but the bathroom was aged. The flooring was vinyl and peeling up. The towels, sheets and other linens were fine. The HVAC worked right but my room door wouldn’t close. It required a strong tug to get the door to latch. It was very easy to go off leaving it unlocked. The outside of the building on the South is suffering from a lot of peeling paint and poor care overall. I did have a couple of drinks in the club which were OK, but too expensive. I looked over the free breakfast offering in the diner and decided I’d go across the street to the Pancake House instead. I just don’t like any kind of food on a serving line, but especially self-service. This property is typical of the MCM brand. It’s OK but nothing remarkable. The word “elegante” and “leftovers” don’t fit together well in my recipe book. This property is definitely a left over Holiday Inn and it does need some updating. I would not pick this brand were I not at a meeting there.

|4.76km from city centerStayed passing through based on reviews but probably wouldn't do so again. The place looked new on the outside but rooms were not being maintained, there were hair pins on the floor or the bathroom, dirty areas on walls etc. The pool is across form the elevators and they allowed kids to run around from the pool into the elevators without drying off. Both elevator floors were covered a lot of water as was the area in front of the elevator doors. I almost slipped but luckily didn't fall. The front desk person put out a sign about it being wet but didn't stop the kids (or the parents) so the area remained wet and dangerous. The best art though was that after we drove 10 hours to get there they told us they had no soap or shampoo. They told us we could drive to the store to buy our own! Our room also had only one towel and no coffee or coffee cups or much of anything. We paid about $100 for this. I'm not sure what happened at this location but I hope they get their act together.

|8.73km from city centerWe stayed here 2 nights while taking our teenager to Texas Tech for a visit. We needed a room with 3 beds and this fit the bill. Here are the pros and cons of our stay: Pros: * layout was what we needed: 3 queen beds and two rooms * interesting small room with pull out sofa couch * breakfast included Cons * Things were falling apart (sink handle, scuffs on floor, etc..) but these were minor * Working staff was not that friendly. My wife had me ask for things like towels and shampoo since the night crew were not nice to her * hot water took 10 minutes to heat to a tolerable temp * Billing - this was our major issue - when I checked out the rate was higher than my confirmation. When I pointed this out to the desk clerk and showed her my confirmed rate, she shrugged and said she couldn’t help me and only a manager could. Since there was no “manager” there at 8:30 am when we checked out, we had to wait 30 minutes for one to show up. When one finally did, we got the rate corrected fine. However, I’m not sure why there were people working check out time that couldn’t adjust obvious billing problems In the end, the cons outweigh the pros for me. I find it unacceptable a hotel will adjust the rate and not equip their staff to resolve when the issues materializes. The only thing that prevented a 1 rating was I did get the issue resolved after being delayed 30 min

|1.33km from city centerWas easy to check in and out, however when we got to the room, we couldn’t find a garbage can. The room smelled like cigarettes. There was no blankets other than a thin sheet on the bed. So sleeping at night was super hard, because it was cold in the room. We had it at 70, but it was still too cold. Would’ve loved to have a thicker blanket.
Staff was super friendly and otherwise our stay was nice.
