I stayed here due to its proximity to the NBOME national testing center, where osteopathic medical students go to take their COMLEX Level 2 PE practical board exam. The hotel is located just down the street, no more than 5 minutes away from the NBOME. Springhill offers a free airport shuttle pickup and our driver, Kimball, was absolutely wonderful. On the ride from O’Hare to Springhill, Kimball answered all of our questions, told us about the area, offered restaurant and travel tips, and was just so pleasant. He detailed, step by step, the process I would go through the next morning to take the hotel shuttle to the testing area. This really meant a lot to a nervous student before one of the most important exams of their academic career. The rooms were large and comfortable, with a living room area, kitchen area, and bedroom section. One of the major assets of the Springhill is having an Outback Steakhouse located right within the hotel. We took advantage of that by dining in one night and getting takeout the next. If you want to dine out, the hotel shuttle runs anywhere within a 2 mile radius. The front desk workers were very friendly and helpful, going well out of their way to make their guests feel welcome and comfortable. The hotel breakfast each morning was nice, with a great selection, I just wish that there was bacon on the hot bar, rather than sausage every morning. I had a wonderful stay at Springhill and would definitely recommend it if you need something close to the NBOME or if you just want a hotel that puts their guests first.

The location is convenient and the room was clean. A decent deal for the price. Having Bar Louie open downstairs for carry-out was nice. The good points end there though. I've stayed in a handful of hotels since the pandemic, including two other Holiday Inns, and this was the first one where the staff didn't explain the reduced services at check-in. They didn't explain that there would be no breakfast, even though there were ads for breakfast in the elevator. The next morning, I was disappointed to find that the only option for breakfast was to pre-order the night before. The shop in the lobby wasn't open, and the staff at the front desk had no idea when it would open for the day. Eventually the front desk was able to get us the grab and go breakfast after all, but it was just very confusing. My room didn't have a coffee maker when I checked in. They brought me one later, but only one coffee pod, so I had to ask in the lobby for more. There was no tea available, just the Keurig coffee. The hit-and-miss service from staff (even the one friendly helpful woman didn't seemed unhappy and frustrated) coupled with not offering an amenity/points for being Platinum member, and having a mystery charge on my credit card bill that I haven't been able to get reversed yet makes me think that there are some bigger management issues at play here. It's obviously fine for a short stay, but bring your own food/instant coffee and check your bill carefully.

This was probably the worst Marriott property I have ever stayed at. This hotel is selling rooms with club level access when in fact there is no club level available. Instead of charging the room rate without club access we were offered a $10 voucher for the market and TWO breakfast vouchers for two adults and two children. Yes, breakfast for two people when there were four. We were never actually given these vouchers. In the morning I called the front desk to inquire about the breakfast. Apparently, the restaurant in the hotel is not even open and the breakfast was good for a coffee and sandwich at the Starbucks located in the hotel. Unfortunately, the Starbucks was out of almost everything. I booked a club level room to have the convenience of drinks, snacks and breakfast during my stay with my grandchildren. We were told we would have complimentary water in the room. There were none of the amenities that were listed in the website. No robes or slippers. No water. Nothing. I would have brought snacks and water from home had the hotel bothered to inform me there was no club level. The room had a “pullout” sofa with no sheets. Just a pancake thin nasty mattress. It took over 1/2 hour and two phone calls for sheets and the sent a thin comforter to try and cushion the mattress. It didn’t work. The kids could feel the metal. Staff was less then friendly at check in. The people working there can definitely make or break your stay in a hotel. I was told points would be added to my Marriott account but that has not happened. Probably never will. Do not stay here. There are many other options near the hotel.

My brief stay at this Marriott near Chicago O’Hare was worthy of four stars. I must commend the staff for providing top-notch service for me, from hailing a wheelchair-accessible taxi to/from airport, helping with electronic device charging, and everything in between. Special shoutouts to Greta and Rahul for their amazing service!! And thanks for implementing COVID-19 precautions! I requested a quiet room away from traffic, and while I was close to a major highway, the noise was very minimal and manageable. Cleanliness was a big priority, and I was especially appreciative of this amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Everything was essentially perfect except for the available charging outlets at the bedside lamps. Those were really the only easy places to plug in electronics, and, sadly, none sustained a charge. I called down to request help, and a masked maintenance employee came up to assist me in plugging everything in successfully. It worked out in the end, which I’m super grateful for, but it was an initial hassle that could be improved. Like many other full-service Marriotts, there’s a restaurant in the lobby; I dined there my first night. While my server was cordial and welcoming, I was not too impressed with the food I ordered; it was simply so-so. Somewhat overpriced for what I paid, but not too big of a deal. Just want to let my readers know in advance, so as to inform others’ decisions the best way possible. And seriously, though—despite the non-operational electrical outlets and average restaurant food, my stay was super positive and will return whenever I need an airport hotel. Four stars stands today, and I hope to bump that to five when I visit in the future. Thanks for a great experience!!

I was recently staying here for a wedding. The rooms were clean, the beds were comfy. It was perfect for what we needed it for and we all slept very comfortably. Best of all, I had family things come up and needed to leave a day early, I did have advanced notice but Expedia fooled me into thinking I could get the last day taken off, but they never processed my request. I know that sounds bad, but the owner stood up for me and refused to charge me for the last night since I was checking out early n before 11am. He was so helpful, and knew that if he didn’t charge me for the night, they couldn’t force me to pay. Thank you so much Heart O’ Chicago and Jawed Imtiaz. You saved me almost $100. I really appreciate it.

My friends and I were in Chicago for a weekend to hear some jazz at The Green Mill. Great club just a few blocks away from The Guesthouse. Our suite was a full 3-bedroom apartment, with well equipped kitchen (gas stove & oven, fridge, dishwasher, dishes, utensils), gas fireplace, balcony w/ bbq, laundry, 2 bathrooms. Couldn't ask for more. The staff were friendly and helpful. Everything was in top condition and very clean. This would be a great place for a long stay. Doesn't feel like a hotel, it feels like a home. It was about a 20-minute uber drive downtown to see the sites. There is a nice neighbourhood with a real "village" feel just a few blocks away with lots of pubs, restaurants, grocery stores etc. Everything you need.

This is a small nicely renovated establishment that provided us with a comfortable bed, a large clean bathroom, TV, WiFi, and a quiet room at a very reasonable price,.but without some of the usual frills (hair drier, closet, iron, water glasses, phone, etc.). The rooms are on the second floor of the building, reached by a flight of 20 steps (no elevator). Breakfast consisted of a nice selection of foods, including eggs, which the guests assemble for themselves (except for coffee, which was already made). There was no plastic. Guests put dirty silverware and dishes into the dishwasher of the well-equipped kitchen. Instead of key cards, the doors operate with keypads, making the room key one thing less to keep track of. The neighborhood appears to be entirely residential and very quiet at night. We parked our car on the street in front of the building and took the Red Line, about 6 blocks away, downtown. There are also two bus lines a bit closer. We find this trend towards simplicity very congenial, although it might not be for everyone. We would consider staying at the 5863 again on a future trip to Chicago.

After a construction project took longer than expected, my husband, daughter and I needed a place to stay for a few nights. As Chicago residents, we know a lot about the city, neighborhoods, and types of housing options available and absolutely loved our stay at the Roscoe Village Guesthouse. About the house/location: beautifully decorated and well maintained home in a fantastic neighborhood. Walking distance to many shops & restaurants, and a quick bus/train/Uber to other parts of Chicago (Wrigley, downtown, LP Zoo, lake, etc). About the amenities: well equipped kitchen, new linens in bathroom and bedroom, free laundry in basement, high quality bathroom toiletries. About the hosts: amazing to communicate with and made our stay delightful.

I can't say enough nice things about the staff at this hotel. Each person was like having a personal concierge at my disposal. Also, it was the cleanest hotel I've had the pleasure to stay at in a long time. The beds were so comfortable and I didn't even miss my pillow! Housekeeping was spot on and very friendly too. The area is also very convenient to everything I needed. I could walk almost everywhere and when I took Lyft, it was reasonable to get where I needed to go. Downtown isn't all it's cracked up to be if you ask me. I felt safe and welcoming. It's directly across from Loyola University. I even had something from Amazon sent to the 7-11 a couple of blocks away and it was waiting for me when I got there! There's a new Target right down the street to the south and a Mediterranean restaurant that was excellent and less than a block away, also to the south. A special thanks to Hector and Sherry at the front desk. These are amazing people and Hampton is lucky to have them.

The good-clean updated room and free parking... It is a bit of a different place! There really isn't a "lobby" just a small single file room off the garage where the employees are behind glass to check you in. Took a long time to check in, there were 3 parties in front of us and no fault of the staff but these people could not decide what kind of room they wanted or how many they needed! However there were two employees but only one helping the guests. The other was just standing there! Parking is free but is a little tricky.. Very small garage and hard to maneuver, very tight spaces. We ended up parking on the lot instead of inside the garage. Breakfast wasn't much, be so we chose to forego it. All in all I would probably stay again if I found a good rate.

The hotel was great location wise, but extremely expensive as the only in-airport hotel. Fairly easy to find too. Rooms could do with a revamp, as they feel and look like a hotel straight out of the 80s, plus there was a rather large gap underneath the door so sound travelled through very easily. Nice big room, but there was nothing in the minibar and was only given a small bottle of water during check-in (close to midnight). Only stayed out of convenience, but was comfortable to say the least.

I rate this hotel as a three star but know that it has very good parts and not so good. Let’s start with the pros: Clean, modern, great fitness center (this is atop an athletic club). Both breakfast and lunch menus and food were good, healthy options. Bar has a sufficient choice for everyone. It was wintertime so we didn’t use the outdoor pool, but I suspect it is fun. While not in a tourist area, it is in a good location if you need to stop by a store to pick up something you need or forgot. Staff were friendly without exception. Rooms have ample space and everything you need. The rate is reasonable too, even with the $25 daily resort fee. In room coffee was good too and there is a small refrigerator. The cons: not a place for rest or quiet. The beds are very firm, too firm really to feel comfortable. I found myself tossing around quite a bit. On our first night, we awoke at 3 am hearing the workout room below. Someone was really jamming and they no doubt had a good session. It was loud enough that I could recognize each set. I mentioned it to management the next morning and it didn’t happen again. The gym is closed until 5 am so it was odd. Other reviews note this and I know that we were not dreaming. You can hear a lot of noise between rooms as there isn’t much acoustic dampening, but our neighbors were quiet once they got settled. Our friends stayed on the 5th floor, one floor up from us. They didn’t have the noise problem. Maybe you want to ask for a room on floor 5.

Let me start by saying that I was so looking forward to our stay at the Swissotel Chicago - for a very special occasion. And it was off to a great start when the bell man greeted us and escorted us to the front desk. But that was the end of our pleasant experience with Swissotel, even though I had called in advance to let them know this was a special occasion. We were greeted at the front desk by a cold and unwelcoming individual named Nicole Thompson. She was horribly rude and unfriendly. When I inquired about the bill because I was surprised it was more than anticipated from my online reservation, she seemed bothered with my questions and made me feel like I was being problematic, instead of just trying to get clarification. We left the front desk feeling very unwelcome and it left a bad taste in our mouths, but I wasn't going to let it damper the day and instead, looked forward to our pre-booked city view room... instead, Ms. Thompson put us in a room on the 4th floor directly in front of the elevator, which is neither a river view or a city view, but a concrete view of a roof of a building next door - and in the distance, a little sliver of the lake. Even thinking about it now upsets me so much. So we were left with a room without a city view, paying more than I expected, and didn't get the $10 per day credit for not using housekeeping service. I am so disappointed with my stay at the Swissotel and will never recommend it to anyone.

If you are staying to visit someone in Rush hospital, this is the place to stay. There is a parking garage 50 feet from the hotel with overnight rates cheaper than the hospital hourly rates. I walked two blocks to the hospital through a good neighborhood with no issues. They also had a shuttle if the walk is too much or weather doesn't permit.

Our room was on the small side with furnishings that are either weird or artsy depending on your point of view. In addition to the very comfortable bed our room had a credenza containing the refrigerator/minibar and safe, a desk and a couple of small pouffes for seating. A small table and comfy chair would have been a nice touch but there wasn't space. As others have noted, the walls are rather thin, so keep it down! Like the bedroom, the bathroom was also compact. Disappointingly in this day and age, it still had a tub rather than a walk-in shower. Everything was clean and worked, so no complaints there. I was a little surprised by the lack of USB outlets. I also didn't care for the main room light which was as charmless as an old fluorescent tube. Kimptons pride themselves on a friendly vibe, and the Allegro didn't disappoint. Here the wine hour that sister hotels have is replaced by a prosecco hour. And for those who may not want prosecco there was a mulled cider alternative. Location is a big feature of this hotel. It's right in the theater district, about three blocks south of the river and five or six west of Michigan Ave. (I'll confess I didn't actually count.) There are restaurants all around, and especially just across the river in the River North neighborhood. Overall, we enjoyed our stay but I don't think the Allegro is quite as good as the nearby Kimptons. That's mostly down to the small room and thin walls although the furnishings and equipment were just a little sub-par too. Would I stay here again? Maybe.

Second time at this hotel, always a solid choice. Reservation easy and quick. Arrived and checked in straight away and up to room. Hotel is in a great neighborhood full of restaurants, bars and shops. Love this area. Easy to get downtown (easy walk to the Red Line, or to LSD and the express bus). Room was large and well laid out with comfortable bed, desk and large TV on a cabinet. Closet contained needed iron, board and safe. Bathroom was fine with great towels and amenities. While there was good hot water, water pressure could have been better. Included breakfast included good selection of hot and cold items. Only seating area was lobby area, so be aware of that. Everyone I encountered was friendly and helpful. Check out was quick and easy. That said, there were some areas of improvement. TV worked for about 10 minutes, then never worked again over the 3 day stay. It was pixelating the entire time, no picture nor sound. Internet was extremely slow and spotty. I kept having to reconnect and resign in repeatedly which made any work impossible. Room was near the front of the hotel on the second floor (just over the lobby and check in desk actually) so near the elevator. Hallway noise including elevator beeping was heard all day/night. All in all a good stay and would consider the property next time in Chicago due to location and comfort only. Hope they can work on the other minor challenges.

The location is very good, and it is very convenient to go out. It is in the city center, separated by a road from Michigan Avenue and close to the Chicago River. I arrived in the evening, and I went in by the side door of the parking lot. I found the main entrance and the lobby the next morning. The appearance is still beautiful and the facilities are good. But Ctrip booked a room in the West Building, which was very old, and many places didn't look clean. So I still have to adhere to my usual principle to live in a new hotel, otherwise I am afraid that I will encounter similar problems. The stains over time look very uncomfortable. Room with Starbucks coffee bag and tea, better than a hotel in Las Vegas!
