I had to drive from KY to CO and back. I researched the covid procedures in several chains. The Hilton seemed very promising. The room door had a seal on it. The room was clean. I did bring in my own bedding to use. (Cleaned and carried in a sealed bag) I basically just rested and slept midway thru my journey back and forth from CO. I did not use many of the free offerings like coffee, breakfast, or any amenities except to sleeping facilities. I simply felt safe using this facility during the covid. The hotel was quiet and very clean. I felt safe as a single woman traveling.

Staff and management were great! The GM (John) and AGM (Brittany) were fantastic and friendly, as was the Sales Director (Judy) and many of the wonderful front desk staff like Dominisha! They made us and our pets feel very welcome, almost like family. We stayed with the about 7 weeks due to a loss on our home. We will certainly stay in touch and recommend them to friends and family when they are looking for a hotel to stay when they are in town to visit, as well as business contacts.

I'm a travel physical therapist and stayed at the Woodspring Suites from April to August 2018. And I had an quality stay with the room coming with a queen sized bed (2 pillows), face & body towels, full fridge, microwave, desk, 22 inch flat screen, basic internet with 2 m/b speed, and stove top. So I had the essentials to make my stay satisfactory in Topline. However, my stay will be most memorable due the the desk courtesy of Haley and Julie. They were kind, quick to respond to needs/concerns, and gave 110% effort so thank you and I wish you guys the best!

This was a last minute overnight stay for business purposes. Made the reservation here since it was a Marriott property and close to the interstate and other amenities. Overall, it was an ok stay. This property is a little dated and it isn't easy to get to either. Room was clean and decent but the bathroom lacked and needed some maintenance and cleaning attention. Check-in was great and any staff I met was extremely friendly and pleasant. If I was staying with family, I would probably pick a different property in the area, but if it is just a one night or passing through stay, this property is ok. Typical hot hotel breakfast anymore with microwave eggs, turkey sausage, bacon, etc.

The old expression tells us, “You get what you pay for.” At the Baymont by Wyndham Topeka, it’s more precise to say you don’t get what you don’t pay for. I planned a trip to Topeka without bothering to check the weekend events calendar. That turned out to be a mistake. Probably because the Washburn Icabods had a home game and there was a demolition derby in town drawing surprisingly large crowds, rooms in normally moderately priced Topeka hotels were at a premium. So I booked a room at the Baymont by Wyndham at what would normally be around the price of a mid-range hotel in Topeka. While the room rate was good, not much else about the Baymont was. Among the things I didn’t get were: (1) Housekeeping. I was surprised to return to my room in the evening of the second night of my visit to find that housekeeping hadn’t been to the room at all. I was less surprised to return to my room the next night to discoverer housekeeping still hadn’t been to the room. Not that housekeeping apparently did much when they bothered to show up. When I checked in, the sink was dirty and there were left-over items in the fridge from some previous guest. The arms of the desk chair were sticky. An unwrapped soap bar was left out on the bathroom counter. And when I got ready to go to sleep, I discovered that while there were four pillows on the bed, not one of them had a pillowcase. So I got dressed again and went out into the cold to go down to the front desk to get pillowcases. And there was a single towel in the bathroom, without even a mat for the floor – which was slippery when I got out of the shower. I’m glad I hung up my one towel on the towel rack rather than leaving it on the floor for the housekeeping staff that never came. (2) Information. The only written items in my room were a Gideon’s Bible and an October HBO schedule. (I checked in on November 7.) No information about the hotel’s amenities. No information about the area or places to eat. No TV channel guide. Not even a “do not disturb” sign for the door – though, with the absence of housekeeping service, a “do not disturb” sign might have been unnecessary. (3) Quiet. The Baymont is an old-style motel with doors opening onto an exterior walkway. I was on the I-70 side of the building, meaning I heard traffic noise about every minute I was in my room. Plus the room heater did a decent impression of a NASCAR racer when it kicked on. There were a few positives about Baymont other than the price. My room had plentiful electric outlets (including two on the top of the alarm clock), making it easy to charge electronic devices. The bathtub/shower had a curved shower curtain bar and an apparently recently installed liner with plenty of shelf space, making the shower experience pleasant. And the complimentary breakfast bar had a waffle maker. But that certainly wasn’t enough to offset all the problems. If I were Wyndham, I wouldn’t want my corporate brand associat

This is an older motel that's been renovated. The front reception was wonderfully welcoming (far more than we've ever seen!) - offered to help with baggage and gave us a 10% off coupon for the Texas Roadhouse just up the street. It's easy to find and right across from a shopping mall (and Starbucks) - great access to freeways. The room had all that we needed. The refrigerator was beat up, but worked just fine. Everything was clean and typical Quality Inn. WiFi worked great and the room had plenty of outlets and USB ports available. Breakfast was good - meat, cooked eggs as well as hard boiled eggs, yogurt and the usual sugar and carb stuff. They have a small inside pool. There is a small elevator that's kind of out of the way, but works fine. We come through Topeka every year and had not stayed here - but will again.

For people who have traveled a lot (before covid) the experience at this hotel in Topeka has been wonderful and surprising for the area. Not only are the rooms spacious with a small kitchen but if you feel comfortable with using the amenities at the hotel you won't be disappointed. Game room, pool, lounge area, laundry room...etc This is the second 2 night weekend in a row we have had to be in town and both times, James the night clerk has been absolutely superb. He gave exceptional service. Not only did he take care of my families late night request after a lot day both weekends but was personable while maintaining professionalism. It was similar to experience what my spouse and I have had from business trips to San Jose or Washington DC before covid. Very impressed with the young man. Anytime we visit family out here we will definitely be back. The only thing I would change is how breakfast is served during Covid-19. There should not be an open buffet. There should be pre-made plates or a menu of what the buffet has and a server brings you a plate of desired breakfast food. It is not sanitary for everyone to touch the serving utensils and be breathing all over the food.

We stopped our driving day short because of weather. Upon checking in noticed a pickup sitting just outside the hotel door under the overhang. When I asked about it the desk person informed me the customer parked it there because it was broken in to the previous night. Unusual for this type of business neighborhood. Could not cancel the reservation, so... Stayed here expecting the usual higher quality room. The room met expectations except that it has a cold draft. Couldn't figure out why the heater couldn't get the room warm. Discovered the window was ajar and closed it. Still has a draft coming thru the heater. Turned it up to 78° to get the room warm then down to 75° to maintain it. We usually sleep at about 68°. Everything else was to expectation, clean, good bed, bathroom ok.

This is a long needed and very much welcomed boutique hotel in downtown Topeka. I was born and raised in Topeka and when I return to visit family it is the same old worn down buildings, shops and restaurants I’ve seen since I left here 30 years ago. It was nice to see some revitalization going on in downtown and it was a treat for us to stay at The Cyprus. We booked two rooms as we have three college age daughters with us. They loved their room that had two walls of glass overlooking downtown and they could see the capital building in its beauty at night. The second room my husband and I stayed in was cozy and comfortable. The lady at the front desk was beyond helpful in getting us extra towels and bottled water and even gave us a toothbrush when a person in our party forgot theirs. The only thing I wish they would do differently as an added value service is have lotion as an amenity in the rooms and also bottled water and ice and maybe a coffee maker. It would also be nice to have someone out front opening the door when visitors are carrying in heavy luggage to check in. Designated parking would be ideal as well. Other than that, this is a rare gem in Topeka. Add an on theme pool and a hot tub area and this place would have it all. The restaurant by the way I’ve heard is awesome but we haven’t had a chance to try that yet. This place needs a couple tweaks but we will most definitely make this our first to place now when visiting family in Topeka. Thank you Cyrus for the relaxing stay. By the way, I love the name of the hotel and it was a great pick and due diligence on who the hotel is named after.

We stayed at the Senate on two Mondays,a week apart. Converted from what was originally an upscale apartment complex, the rooms are spacious and include a main bedroom area, a small sitting room, and bathroom. There is also plenty of air conditioning and hot water. While the age of the hotel is part of its charm, we discovered on our second stay that it is also its downfall. We stayed in room 14, and the room above us was also occupied. The floors creaked terribly with movement from the folks above, and we could clearly hear their conversation. In addition, the exterior of the hotel is in need of attention (concrete repairs and plant overgrowth removed), and the one attendant in charge is frequently away from the desk (the help desk phone may or may not elicit a response). I cannot comment on the available breakfast as we opted to try out some local establishments instead. If you're looking for a clean comfortable room for a night's stay at a reasonable price, then you might choose to try out Senate Luxury Suites. Just ask for a room away from others, and know that when you arrive you may need to wait for the attendant to return to the desk.

This HIE is close to I-70, but unlike some reviewers, we did not experience any noise issues during the night. If you are concerned, you might telephone the hotel directly and try and reserve a room on the south end of the building. There is a nice indoor pool area, and breakfast is the usual HIE fare. The staff, both at check-in and at mid-morning, was very friendly. We would certainly stay here again, although we would also note that it is probably time for management to schedule a bit of renovation. For example, this hotel has yet to switch over to the three dispensers in the bath in lieu of the now old-fashioned little bottles of shampoo and shower gel on the counter. Similarly, the carpeting, both in our room and in the public areas, is showing its age, and will hopefully be replaced with something a good deal lighter and more cheerful in color. Our room was poorly illuminated, and it took a while for me to locate a pill that I dropped on the carpet. If the lighting issue is systemic, management needs to address it during renovation.

The treadmill in the gym worked and I was able to have a great workout--very important! The only disappointment was the pool. The air temp in the pool room and the water temp itself was WAY too warm. We wanted to swim with our kids for most of the evening, but we had to leave after just 30 minutes because we were feeling sick and light-headed from the heat. Turn both temps down 10 degrees and the place is nearly perfect!

Rating based primarily on comparisons & experiences at several other Candlewoods we’ve stayed at. All the other ones we’ve rated very good to excellent. Not this one. Maybe we just had higher expectations. First detractor is the fact this one looks very dated & worn out, though the room itself wasn’t too bad. The only chair in the room was a desk chair—not good. No plastic bag provided for laundry. Room was clean, bed comfortable & plenty of towels which were all good & to be expected at a Candlewood.

This is the absolute worst place to stay! The customer service was horrible and the rooms are a disaster. My husband and I drove 24 hours straight with a 5 year old and a 2 year old all we wanted to do was check in, take a shower and crash. We go to check in and there is a small line no big deal until the manager on duty decided it was the best time to order dinner with everyone still in the lobby. Walked in and part of the ceiling wasn't attached, ciggerette burns in the blanket, no wifi and it smelled off. Started the shower the showerhead leaked staight onto the floor and no hot water. We get them to switch us to another room hoping just for hot water. On our way to our new room I look over at my son and see the railings are literally rusting away and their just painting it. Saw the pool that was "under maintance" they just didn't want to deal with it. There were ciggerette packs and butts covering the cover of the pool. We get to the new room and still no hot water, called the Front desk and was told "they're working on it". Got dinner and came back while unloading a drug dealer staying there opened his door and watched us until we locked our car. We get back to the room and i sit on the bed nearest to the ac and fell over into the ac the bed was completley broken. Still no hot water so we go to bed all gross having to wake up early to go to a wedding. Finally hot water. Everyone gets ready and low and behold no hair dryer or ironing board. My husband goes to check out and comes back furious. My husband usually has endless patience but the Front desk agent was so incredibly rude. My husband went down and started talking to him about everything that was and went wrong and he looked at my husband and said "why did you stay here then? " . I called down asking when the manager was going to be in and his response was anytime so I demanded I get a call as soon as they get in. While loading the car to leave the front desk agent comes strolling out and walks over to the gas station leaving the whole property unattended for 10 minutes. Called the corporate Motel 6, the customer service didn't care after explaining what happened he told me that it's independent so they can't do anything. I'm still waiting 6 days later.
