I was pleasantly surprised with this best western! We needed a place to stay for one night and to hang out for a few hours before our flight the next day. We got there a little early and were able to get into our room right away. It was clean and quiet and we got a spot right next to the pool. Having restaurants within walking distance was great for dinner and the included breakfast buffet had a good selection. Our favorite though was the pool area. After we checked out in the morning, we staked our spots by the pool and the kids had a great time swimming, playing giant chess, corn hole and tic-tac-toe, all surrounded by shady palm trees. The staff was awesome about letting us use the facilities even after checkout. Great experience!

With everyone coming out of the pandemic and beginning to travel again this hotel is above and beyond expectations, speaking as a previous Courtyard by Marriott in Glenwood Springs, CO. They have a full breakfast, with eggs, a protein, as well as a stir-fry starch - with all the regular offerings such as yogurt, pastries, an assortment of juices, and fresh coffee at the touch of a button. Their front desk staff if wonderful - Pedro makes you feel welcome and at home, no matter your background or how long your stay is. This place is truly a home away from home. If your room is not ready yet, you are welcome to sit in their lounge, connect to WiFi, or even enjoy yourself by the pool (towels provided) - they even have a hot tub, and the ability to help disabled individuals into the pool. Housekeeping is wonderful and full of life and a passion for their job. I am on an extended stay, as I apply and interview for jobs back in Colorado, and my car is even being transported out to here. I have felt very welcome, as has my dog Bruce Wayne. I am a licensed clinician and have traveled a lot around the country and this is one of my favorite Choice properties. They sell out on the weekends, so be sure to make your booking early. They even have a few rooms with whirlpools if you really want to treat yourself. It has been a blessing to come across this place, that is pet-friendly, and the staff all make you feel welcome. I can't say enough positives about this property - and there's been no problems with water pressure or the WiFi connectivity. The BBQ grill out back is a wonderful touch, and allows you to save some money by cooking dinner right at your accommodation. Bravo! Encore! Thank you for all you do.

This is a great hotel and on the whole the staff are lovely and really friendly but an experience in the food part of club level made me question the reason why I paid the extra - we knew the times to go in in the evening we really didn’t use it too much either but at 9.50 one evening ( closed at 10 ) we went in for a wine and hot drink - the wine was closed and I was stood over and talked at in quite a condescending way about how to make a hot drink made to almost feel guilty - I didn’t appreciate being told which button to press - I already knew - Didn’t drink the hot drink in end as was too stressed - I suppose I’m saying if it closes at 10 - leave it open till 10 - e pensive hotel - we deserved better than that - had not experienced this treatment on other nights .

Our family was in Sarasota for a soccer tournament recently. We always enjoy Home2 Suites because of the large rooms, kitchenette and full sized refrigerator. Hotel prices in the area jumped 150% for the weekend of the tournament, so we ended up paying over $300 a night. The hotel sits right on a busy road, and the road noise is loud enough we needed to use white noise on our phones throughout the night. Even with this, loud cars, motorcycles and helicopters woke us up nightly. We asked to move to the other side of the hotel for the last 4 nights of our reservation and were told we couldn't. Our sliding bathroom door would not close, and had to be lifted and shimmied to get close to closing. On the morning of day 4 of our stay, we asked for our room to be serviced, as that is a long time for 4 people to use the same towels (with no enough hooks to hang the towels) and small wastebaskets. We were told we needed to arrange for it the day prior, and that they would not be able to accommodate us. The breakfast hours are 6-9 am even on weekends. 9 am just seemed very early to be finished with breakfast on a weekend. Overall, this was an experience we would have expected from a much cheaper stay. But having paid over $1500 for our stay, we were just expecting something a little nicer.

This matter is under legal consideratioin. She has seen a doctor. Has severe bruising, multiple lacerations and a separated shoulder. Instead of calling me in the room, or getting medical help, since the restaurant was in the bar, she fell over a chair, and they assumed they should arrest a drunk. They would not let me speak to her, by the time I went down from the room to look for her, she was with the police. They were going to arrest her and told me I pushed her. Thanks to the fact I was in the room, and there were several witnesses coming to her defense (and mine), my neighbor, a deputy sherrif, was able to convince them we were not what they assumed. We were kicked out of the hotel, and I promised to get the job of the manager.... my lawyers are looking at it.

We recently stayed at this hotel for a trip to Sarasota for a soccer tournament for our kids. I have never had such a terrible experience in my life. The moment we checked in I knew it was a mistake. Upon entering our first room I immediately called other hotels in the area to switch but all were booked due to the tournament. The ceiling in the room was peeling off from water leaks, the bathroom was moldy and you could barely breathe in the room from the smell. I called to the front desk and they switched our room and claimed “they must have forgotten to clean it” The second room was not any better. It was like a horror movie. Someone who stayed previously had clearly projectile vomited all around the toilet and splattering the walls which was never cleaned. The shower was worse than the first room, completely lined with block mold from side to side. There were brown handprints from who know what smeared all over the walls. There were ROACHES walking in the hallways. The shower (which I didn’t take for the entire stay) didn’t even drain. Our friends in a neighboring room found entire moldy old meals shoved under their beds crawling with mold. They had to shut the water off because the shower handles stoped working. Our curtains were covered in crusted mold and salt stains from water leak from the window. It was truly the most horrific weekend of our lives. We didn’t take our shoes off once. We bought new sheets for the beds and make it ourselves. We even left to use the restroom. Do yourselves a favor and DO NOT STAY HERE. I was so repulsed I stopped even taking photos which I truly regret so I should accurately show how horrifying the hotel is

The facilities at The Sarasota Modern are ideal for a special event such as the 30th birthday party that we gave my daughter. The setting overlooking the pool with a covered patio and accessible bar area is especially suited for any small to medium size event. The hotel affectively setup a customized bar and buffet option of my choice all at a reasonable price. The sales staff were awesome to work with along with the maintenance man who helped with the setup. The bartender was exceptional as she not only served our guests drinks she also handled all aspects of the buffet. My daughter and our guests had a wonderful and memorable time celebrating at The Sarasota Modern. We have had one guest reach out to us because he would like to host a birthday party for his wife at this venue.

We love Marriott, and that is why we are titanium level- But -we just experienced the worst Marriott stay at the Aloft Sarasota downtown. In short- Do not stay here! It seems that Marriott has tried to offer an Uber cool young style with the Aloft brand to counter the so-called “stuffiness” of JW Marriott. However this is a major fail. You can be contemporary and modern and still be competent, clean, and comfortable. None of those three qualities describe the Sarasota Aloft. Our standard request is for an “upper floor non-smoking extra pillow” room. That has been on our profile for decades. We tried to upgrade our reservation using our upgrade awards -but those were not accepted by Aloft. That was fine. So we simply requested a city view —Not a suite upgrade which is an often upgrade for titanium members- just a city view. However our room looked directly at a cement wall with a window across from us. We called the front desk to request A different room with an outside view and we were told, “we gave you an upper floor”. So we suggested a change to any floor as long as we had sunshine out our window. We were told that there were no king rooms available, even though the hotels seem totally empty. We were then offered two queens. We accepted and moved our luggage to a room that didn’t look out on what seemed like a prison wall. As you can see in the pictures attached- this was not a clean room. Floors were never swept in the three days we stayed there. The refrigerator, which reminded us of our college days, sat on the floor of the bathroom. Fortunately we now carry Lysol wipes due to the pandemic as for the first time on our trip we had to use them just to clean the desktops bedside tables etc. In the photo below you can see what the charging station looked like. So much for cleanliness. Cheap thin towels and the list goes on. The next three days was a series of bad service. They didn’t clean our room one day after we had nicely mentioned to the cleaning staff in the hallway that we were leaving for the day. We were gone eight hours. Upon returning we found that nothing had been touched in our room, piles of towels on the floor -beds unmade -and when we called the front desk we were told that housekeeping had left for the day. WE then suggested that maybe someone could bring us some clean towels, not their suggestion. No one from management even contacted us during our stay- no apology- . Instead of listing more issues with both the room, the hotel, or the staff - suffice to say —stay anywhere other than the Aloft in downtown Sarasota….Unless you are checking in at midnight and leaving first thing in the morning. We wish we had read earlier reviews on this hotel which stayed similar experiences. Marriott- you are much better than this! at is why we are titanium level members - but- But we just experienced the worst Marriott stay in our lives at the Aloft Sarasota downtown. My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights in April as part of a fly drive trip to Florida (we are from the UK) . The rate was very reasonable compared to similar hotels nearer the coast, but we didn’t mind the short drive to the beaches, it’s only 12 miles to the fabulous Anna Maria Island. The welcome was great at reception, and the Hotel was clean throughout and very modern. Our room was standard Hampton Inn, very good. We didn’t get to use the pool, but it looked lovely. We can’t put our finger on it, and this is not a complaint, but the breakfast, while very good, was not excellent as we have found in previous Hampton Inns. Probably it was the choice of only one flavour yoghurt, and my husband was not too sure about the scrambled eggs. However, we enjoyed what we had at breakfast and everything was spotlessly clean. We would definitely stay at this Hampton Inn again,, and probably try the waffles for breakfast next time.

Was looking specifically for property with 2 separate BR/BA and "kitchen". Location is right across from SRQ. The front desk staff was fantastic--so friendly with a "can do" attitude (the staff at The Modern and Art Ovation could take lessons from these folks). Room was very spacious and comfortable. Lighting is too dim in the kitchen and needs stronger bulbs. Good refrig with automatic ice maker. Cookware must be 10 years old--at least invest in non-stick or provide steel wool pads to do dishes. Kitchen did not have a baking pan but staff found one in 5 minutes and also supplied me with aluminum foil. Very easy to cook basic meals there. Lot's of outlets to plug in electronics and work areas. Pool area furniture is filthy and old--wouldn't want to touch any of it. Needs new hairdryers. The smoke detector went off every time I dried my hair. Grill looks like it hasn't been cleaned in months so that wasn't an option. Property has complimentary basic breakfast. All in all, great team and great location. Not fancy in any way but really met our needs

Think twice before booking this place. It is located directly on a very busy road with lots of traffic noise. All rooms are accessed by an exterior door, many of which are rusted and/or in bad condition. When I arrived, there were lots of questionable characters hanging around in the parking lot. The entrance to the lobby resembles a sally port at a low security prison. There are two sets of doors to go though. After the first set of doors there is a glass security window with a round metal speak-through. When I arrived I was the only customer there. I entered the check-in area and I was told by the person at the desk that I had to check in via a device that looked like one of those interactive bank teller machines featuring a live person on a screen. The odd thing is that when the next customer arrived to check in, the person at the desk did it personally. ???? In fairness, the room was clean. But overall, this is a good place to avoid.

After reading the reviews, we stopped at the Carlisle Inn on our way to Siesta Key. Planning to stay in a major chain hotel on Siesta Key beach, we stopped at the Carlisle as it was on the way. Wanting to see if the Carlisle was as clean as everyone says in their reviews, we walked around the premises checking out the dining room, pool area, & bathrooms. It was very clean so we didn't ask to see a room. The woman we spoke to at the front desk was friendly & helpful. Not booking a room we drove the 15 minutes from the Carlisle to Siesta Key Beach, we toured rooms at the outdated, worn, & stained hotel chains on the beach. We turned around & booked only one night at the Carlisle Inn as we wanted to check out another beach to stay at. Bekah, Rebecca & Connie were working the front desk. They are 3 of the best, friendly & helpful staff. While explaining how we read the reviews & checked out the other hotels, Connie upgraded us to a Suite. Thank you Connie!! After seeing our corner room suite we immediately went down & booked a 2nd night at the Carlisle! Nothing at the beach could beat this Inn & room. Not being on the beach was fine as the 15 min drive was easy & parking at Siesta Key Beach is free. Our corner king bed suite had a sofa with tables, full size: washer, dryer, refrigerator, dishwasher, stove, kitchen table, & chairs. The flat screen TV was hung on the wall across from the bed, which DH thought was too far for his liking, but fine for me as it could be seen in the sofa & bed areas. The bed was extremely comfortable, with a selection of pillows. The dining area does not have a bar. It is set up for the continental buffet breakfast of eggs, sausage, biscuits, yogurts, fruit, waffles, coffee, tea, juice & cereal. The breakfast is included with your stay. If you're looking for a full breakfast, you can visit the Der Dutchman which you can walk to as it's in the parking lot of the Inn. The pool is not fancy as it's a standard type hotel/motel pool that was clean, warm & had a separate hot tub. We did enjoy using the pool. The hot tub & fire pit are next to the pool, but we never had the time to use them. Everyone from staff to guests were friendly. We truly enjoyed getting to know everyone and getting sightseeing suggestions. Thank you to all the staff at the Carlisle Inn Sarasota for being friendly & keeping to high standards.

Travelled to this hotel after a couple of nights in Orlando. Booked all our hotels through British Airways which give you a pre-paid voucher and then all you need to do is provide ID on arrival at the hotels. No issues at all with the other two hotels we booked however on arrival at Embassy Suites they refused to accept the proof of payment as they “do not accept vouchers” and so said we would have to pay again. Reluctantly the lady checked us in, making us feel like they were doing us some sort of favour but rudely told us we would need to come back down and speak to a more senior member of staff that evening to sort out payment (even though we had paid all our hotels in full through British Airways and had shown them proof of payment including my personal credit card statement which you don’t expect to have to produce on check-in!) This senior member of staff didn’t know how to deal with the process either so took a photocopy and said he would try and get it resolved with his manager overnight. The next day when passing through reception we were shouted at across the lobby to come and sort out payment, which was both shocking and humiliating. After getting nowhere with the rude lady on reception, her even ruder manager stormed out of the office and repeatedly just told us they don’t accept vouchers and it was our issue to sort out not theirs. After wasting more time at reception dealing with the unhelpful staff (which is a long time on a 3 night stay!) we reluctantly had to try and contact British Airways ourselves to find out the problem. BA quickly resolved the issue advising they’d providing a virtual credit card to the hotel back in March and would call the hotel to tell them what to do. It seems the hotel had a clear lack of understanding of such a common way of booking through a third party but rather than looking in to it or contacting their head office demanded we deal with it instead. Once BA had called the hotel and payment was taken by the hotel from the method provided the only other interaction we had with the reception desk was when they asked us to leave credit card details for incidentals. We voiced our disappointed in the service at this time, and was purely told the manager we spoke to wasn’t the usual manager - the on-duty manager never even came to speak to us and we never got any sort of apology. On check-out the lady serving us was more bothered that she didn’t get a negative review rather than trying to resolve our issues. Never got given a bill just charged our credit card for the $30 per night valet! A real shame as the hotel facilities are good, and will be even better when the pool doesn’t overlook a construction site. We will definitely be visiting Sarasota again but will not be staying at this hotel. We expected a lot higher level of service from the Hilton brand.

Absolutely terrible. We had to call the front desk 3 times over a period of an hour and a half our first night there, exhausted from travel, to get an extra blanket to go to bed. That's how the trip started. The hotel and room are very clean and the view of the bay is beautiful. That's it. There are ZERO amenities at this hotel. ZERO. Horrible service at the pool with one bartender/server for drinks and food, JUST ONE, while literally every chair there was completely occupied all day. It closes at dusk so you can't eat outside. So you have one completely overpriced restaurant inside with very, very limited food items. The only option for breakfast is the full service sit down restaurant. They have ZERO convenience items or food you can buy, even a simple bagel, nothing. It's not close to ANYTHING. There's no pharmacy or convenience store or even a decent restaurant to get food at. I can't believe with COVID conditions that this hotel can't step it up and offer more options to guests, instead they have this crappy limited menu that's entirely overpriced and drinks are through the roof, and I'm not a cheap person. Good luck finding the towel room if you go to the pool, that took me another 15 minutes in itself. We left there and literally went to the Hampton Inn at University and the room and hotel was just as clean, it had all kinds of amenities, it had a Nordstrom and a fresh supermarket AND by the way every night you filled out a form and checked the items you would want for breakfast and you could check whatever and whatever quantities and they had a little bag for you every single morning packed and ready to go at your request, no charge! I would never, ever stay at this lousy hotel. If you like the view take a picture and book somewhere else!

this place is run down and dirty. The building and rooms need remodeling badly. It's too bad because the grounds are very pretty but the rooms are dark and gloomy.
