We had the most wonderful stay at the end of November to celebrate a special birthday and anniversary. We stayed in A Level suite overlooking the sea. It’s about a 20 minute walk into the main city but we love walking so it made no odds to us. The room was spotlessly clean, we had a bottle of Cava and fresh fruit waiting for us on our arrival too which was a great touch. The executive lounge was great. Ample breakfast, snacks and canapés as well as beer and cava served all day. We can’t wait to come back again with the children and explore more of Barcelona.

We just finished a four night stay (arranged by Gate 1) at Four Points this Monday (3/2/20). The rooms and the amenities were pretty much what you'd expect from a mid-level American-style hotel - VERY well executed. The outstanding feature: to a person - EVERY (Desk, Restaurant, Housekeeping) employee we encountered was pleasant and helpful in a sincere and warm manner. Location is in a more modern part of town (requiring a 10 Euro cab to Plaza Catalunia or Gothic area - we're not snobs but never got to use the many available Public Transport options) . We were very happy to find, however, the Pobre Nou Rambla which is right outside the door. This is the kind of Rambla "locals" use. Goes from the hotel (on Diagonal) to a lovely beach - None of the Honky-Tonk shadiness the famous "Las Ramblas" seems to attract. We enjoyed several restaurants there (there are over 50 we're told).

Exceptional place to stay. 24 hours service from the reception. We had a quality time at Barcelona and at this hotel - such a great location and great staff. They even agreed to keep our luggage and tagged them so professionally, and we were able to collect them back at midnight. There were several apartments close to the cost of this hotel, but trust me, 'Hotels are Hotels', and this is indeed a Star hotel. I would definitely recommend to anyone.

The hotel is located in the business district, and overall security feels better than other areas. There are large shopping malls and supermarkets within walking distance. Staff friendly. The design of the room is based on the consistent holiday inn style, simple and rational, and ample space. Breakfast is queued during busy hours, but usually two people can sit in for a few minutes. It is recommended that a group / family can sit in separate tables. Breakfast choices are small but hot, mainly with bag and salad.

We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights and have to say the staff were excellent throughout our stay (especially the lady that checked us in on 7th feb) failed to get her name though. We stayed in a premier room with bathrobes, hairdryer and a mini bar. I wished we could have stayed higher than the 5th floor as there are some great views over Barcelona. I asked for the hotel to organise some flowers for my partners birthday and they done this without a fuss, decorating the room on our return from our day out. They also provided a complementary chocolate box for the birthday celebrations. The breakfast is good value for money with all you could wish for, only the cooked breakfast could be a little bit cold. The hotel is located close to the zoo, city centre and has great transport links around Barcelona. I would recommend a stay here, great value and great staff! Thank you!

I decided to stay at this Travelodge based on my good experience of their hotel in Fira, also in Barcelona. Originally I had planned to stay in the MotelOne but decided that for a saving of £30 a night, it was worth it. The Welcome, I arrived at the hotel around 2 hours before check in as I was tired from travelling. I was prepared to pay an early check in fee, however the wonderful receptionist didn’t charge me for it, even when I asked. She initially told me that there wasn’t any rooms ready, but without prompting or hesitation she was on the radio to housekeeping to see if they could accommodate me, to which they did. Excellent! The Room, On entering the room, I found myself a bit disappointed at first with how basic it was. Even though travelodge is basic, I found this one to be more so. There was lots of space in the room but no storage apart from a couple of hangers on the wall. It felt unfinished, like the designer had plonked a bed and a desk in a room and said Whalah! The window was small and had a plastic curtain, it certainly had the prison cell realness feel to it. It was however quiet, even with the busy road next to it. The bathroom was a nice size and was immaculate in cleanliness. The Hotel in general This hotel is neatly laid out and everything is quickly accessible. The restaurant is located next to the reception area and serves a small selection of hot food throughout the day, it also has a bar. There are vending machines that stock drinks, sandwiches, confectionery and travel essentials such as toiletries. The reception also stock some essential toiletries too, I needed a shaving razor, and although they didn’t have it in stock at the time, they also said they had things like shaving gel, shower gel and shampoo for those caught without. The Food I purchased breakfast for my stay but only managed to have some on one day as the other day I had to leave very early in the morning. The food was satisfactory and is a mix of continental and hot food items such as sausages, bacon and the like. It tasted good, but lacked a certain standard, but what else are you going to expect from a budget hotel? I was a little disappointed that on the occasion I stayed, they didn’t have orange juice, instead they had pineapple juice in the orange juice dispenser without anything to say as such bluergh! I would be happy to return to Traveodge Poblenou, it was a nice cheap and cheerful hotel. Their Fira location is of a better quality as it’s a smaller more closely run hotel, although it is a distance from Barcelona centre. So the location of this travelodge makes it a good compromise. A little bit of advice, if arriving by metro, get off at L4 Lacuna as it’s closer than Poblenou station.

I travelled with my children and we had a superior room with three separate beds. The room was spacious and we had a view of the beach across the road. I have given five stars as the hotel delivers what it sets out to. The staff were very helpful before I travelled, as well as during our stay. I liked that they sent me a survey whilst I was there. We had assumed the air conditioning was not working because we travelled offseason. We were offered an upgrade, which we did not take, however, we did get a fan and this helped a lot.The staff also helped me book tickets online, checked us in early. Customer service was excellent. The restaurants nearby are excellent, for breakfast, lunch, dinner whatever you prefer. There is a shopping centre nearby which a great variety of food, we chose the tapas.

Hotel very clean and pleasant. On our arrival to the room, there was a very strong stale smell of cigarettes. (Even myself being a smoker it smelt unpleasant). We went downstairs and asked for the room to be changed as the smell was becoming unbearable. We changed rooms to a further room which stank to high heaven of cannabis. Now, I know this is nothing to do with the hotel, as I'm sure they cant help rude customers who cant be arsed to go downstairs to the smoking area. Apart from that, rooms are clean, nice views, shower is great. Beds very comfy, tele has not much option of english tele, however I knew this after reading previous reviews and brought my ipad. The evening meals were gorgeous and breakfast was great for me (plenty of serrano, salami and manchengo.) Drinks were reasonably priced. I dont think we would return as quick for another visit if it wasnt for Javiar the barman/waiter. What a friendly warm hearted man! His english wasnt great but he tried and my spanish wasnt great so we laughed about that together. He is a lovely man and we would love to sit with him and have a pint together. We went in the pool at the end of november just to say that we had, mind you would not recommend it was really cold as expected :)

The price of this hotel is still relatively high, the corridors in the hotel are designed to be unique and special, like in a museum. The rooms are very welcoming and very clean and comfortable. The hotel also has dry steaming and steaming rooms and exercise equipment. The hotel's breakfast will cost around £11. The hotel is about 10 minutes walk from the right turn to the beach.

Rooms= very good everything you could want Beds=comfy, choice of pillows is offered Bathroom = again everything you could want, shower gel etc provided along with tooth brushes/tooth paste and comb In room drinks = didn’t use but fridge has refreshments in and tea coffee appeared well stocked Parking = €15 per day underground Lift = say 6 people but alarm goes of with 3+ made me feel fat Bar= good service but very quiet Breakfast = plenty of choice especially with the cold offerings BUT the hot, bacon, sausage, and eggs all cold even though they had just come out of the kitchen, so can’t really understand why. Generally= appears to be the place of choice for visitors who love the smell of mothballs which can be somewhat off putting for someone from the UK

Poblenou B&B is a good, solid option for a traveler who wants a clean room, a roof, a bed, and a private bathroom. It is located near the beach area, and there a number of good dining options nearby. As other reviews indicate, the building dates from the 1930's and contains a number of gracious period architectural details. I can't comment on the breakfast, as I didn't include the breakfast option. There is free cable TV. The shower provides a strong stream of water, and the toilets are quite adequate. I wish Tripadvisor gave the option of rating Poblenou with 3-1/2 stars. The staff were also very patient with my numerous email questions prior to arrival. Negative factors: Biggest one was the price. I happened to reserve two months in advance of my vacation at a time when there seemed to be a scramble for rooms in Barcelona during the period of my anticipated vacation, and Poblenou B&B was a very high priced second choice for me (via Booking.com), as my first choice sold out - and the reservation was non-refundable. (With the riots that took place the week before I arrived, had I waited, I could have gotten a much cheaper/much nicer room elsewhere.) While Poblenou B&B was more than adequate to my needs, it definitely wasn't worth what I paid for it. In addition, while the rooms are clean, the bedding materials are visibly worn, which was a turnoff. Also, there was some problem with the wiring that made it impossible for my partner to use his CPAP machine, even with an adapter - the problem was specific to this property, as the CPAP worked fine after we checked out and took the train to Madrid. One more drawback: the property is not accessible to those in wheelchairs or people with significant mobility issues. One has to walk up a flight or two of stairs to reach the lobby - and since I walk with a cane and a noticeable limp, the stairs were a problem - not insurmountable for me, but a show-stopper for some with worse limitations. Finally, there was hardly ever anyone at the front desk - the staff hung out in the breakfast room, which could be a drawback if someone showed up at an unexpected time.

Fortunately, I chose this hotel at the beginning, and I was quite satisfied with it, especially the Chinese staff and comfortable beds. Would recommend to friends. Location: It is about 30 minutes by taxi from the airport and the price is about 35 Euros. Going to the airport can ask the front desk for help. There are two supermarkets within 100 meters from the entrance and turning left. The medium-sized (much larger than 7-11) has everything in stock, especially the second one is more complete! Closed on Sundays, the slightly larger one is open until 21:30. Because there are so many thieves in the subway, the whole process is mainly walking and taxiing. The subway station does not know how far away. It is about a 10-minute walk from Casa Mila and Casa Batlló, and nearby (15-minute walk) there are Chinese food and a super delicious shop. Hygiene, facilities: Very clean, two bottles of free mineral water every day, and non-heavy chocolates on the pillow. The bed was comfortable, not hard or soft, and the quilt was particularly comfortable. Hangers, disposable slippers, disposable toiletries, kettle, refrigerator, safe are all available, and there is a mini pool and gym upstairs. Fruits and discount cards were also given on the first day of stay. Service: the best! On the first day, the front desk was assisted by a young Chinese service man who helped bring luggage to the room and sent us a map to introduce the location of the attractions. I can basically meet him in the next few days, greet him warmly, and asked him many questions, I really appreciate it! The service is also highly recommended for this hotel. Some suggestions: The shelf in the bathroom will touch the arm, the air conditioner in the room will respond slowly, and both pieces of the bathrobe will be damaged.

Villa Olimpica
What an amazing Hotel it should be 5 star! It was a little off putting when we arrived as there was a small homeless camp outside, but there was no bother from any of them, and once inside it was soon forgotten about! On arrival, check in was quick and we were offered a welcome drink, Cava for us and water for my daughter, she also received a H10 teddy and a sweet! The lovely man checking us in (i'm so sorry i forgot your name) noticed it was my 30th Birthday that day and gave us a room upgrade to a suite. The view from this room was unbelievably awesome with a window the full length of the room! The bed was huge and so comfy, the bathroom was well stocked with every toiletry/accessory you'd need and had a jacuzzi bath! The coffee machine in the room was brilliant. We had a cocktail at the bar which was good, and although a bit expensive was the same price as most in the area. One downside was the outdoor rooftop pool wasn't heated which meant although it was open, it was far too cold to use! Lovely seating area up there though which we made use of. A huge thank you to the hotel for the delivery in the evening to our room of Cava, Chocolate Mousse, sweets, cookies and chocolate covered strawberries, The room upgrade was more than enough, and this was so unexpected, what a lovely way to end my birthday! In the morning we were able to watch the sunrise from our bed with a coffee which was very lovely! Breakfast was incredible, nothing was missing, all well stocked and nothing ever ran out! Check Out was super quick and we were able to leave our bags for a few hours before we moved to our next hotel. Biggest downside about our stay was it was only for 1 night, we wished we had booked for longer!

Stayed here for three nights in July. We ended up here by accident after our original hotel cancelled, but couldn’t have worked out better. The junior suite is generous by any hotel’s standards and the bathroom is excellent. The hotel is really well located, and we more or less walked everywhere. You can walk to the really nice restaurant district of Born and the beach very easily as well. The staff were really helpful and couldn’t do enough for you, despite the challenging circumstances all hotels find themselves in at the moment. The rooftop bar is the highlight though, with stunning views across the city, great cocktails and and a great soundtrack. Sitting in the pool and then having drinks up there was a highlight of the holiday. We especially enjoyed the rooftop bar’s ‘Instagram corner’ where bored but clearly well trained boyfriends/husbands would take 847 pictures of a partner pouting at various different angles or acrobatic poses. The one woman dance routine on one occasion was a little much though. Maybe we’re just too British. When things return to normal (please!) we will definitely be back. Strongly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a bit of style and luxury in their holiday. Special shout out to the reception staff who were very patient with my Spanish! It made me feel much more competent than I am.

We spent 5 days in Barcelona over Christmas 2019. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast at the little restaurant was really good with a wide variety of dishes to choose from. The room on the other hand was disappointing. The beds definitely need to be replaced. My partner and I had two single beds pushed together and both beds were hollow in the middle. Our room overlooked Avinguda del Paral.lel and it was incredibly noisy at night. There was a lot of ambulance activity in the street. The room was really small with a minute wardrobe to hang clothing in. We had no hot water in the shower on the first day (middle of December), this problem was sorted out the next day thankfully. Tea/coffee and sugar was supplied only the first day and then again two days later (after I had gone to buy coffee, sugar and milk). No milk or creamer is supplied. I do not understand why. No proper cups or mugs were supplied. Only two paper cups which one obviously can not re-use. My partner hurt his ankle and I ordered ice to put on the sprain. We were charged for the tiny bucket of ice! We were quite surprised that the hotel has a 4 star rating. Other than the room the hotel is quite central and we did enjoy our time in Barcelona.

Just checking out of the hotel after a great weekend in Barcelona with my son to watch Barcelona play Getafe. The hotel is in a good location just 10 minute walk from Collblanc Metro station with direct links to the airport and 10 minutes to Nou Camp for the game. The check in staff were great on Friday afternoon, also the cleaners were polite and always said hello. The cafe / bar is best avoided. The staff try to ignore you, on my first visit the two members of staff spent 5 minutes trying to avoid me, the lady on Friday evening even came from behind the bar, straightened the four chairs next to me then walked away. We ate in the hotel on Saturday night, the prices are reasonable but the quality is lacking. Also the food available was disappointing, many items in the short menu were out of stock. When we got the bill I was told that the bottle of tap water we also had wasn’t on the bill but we had to pay an extra €3 for this. Not sure if this went through the till or in the top jar. Last night I bought a 1/2 litre jug of sangria to take to the room, was charged the €5.65 as per the menu but the drink was given in a glass the same size as a standard sangria I had on Saturday night. I questioned this with the bar staff but they were adamant they were right. In the room after I had finished the glass, I filled the glass up with tap water using the 200ml bottle of sprite we also bought. It was no surprise that the 500ml sangria glass only takes 400ml of the liquid. As we checked out, my son went to reception a minute before me to get some €1 coins for a few games of pool before we left. He asked the receptionist, who gave him 4 x 50c coins in return. He said this wasn’t enough but she dismissed him. When I walked down moments later he was upset so I challenged the receptionist. She said she was right but after my insistence she back down and gave us the other €2 back. She said the hotel did. It have any €1 coins. We asked at the bar, but he didn’t have any either. We could have just been unlucky with the water charge, the sangria being short and with my son being short changed at reception, I will never know. I would not return to this hotel to find out. Please book somewhere else.
