|10.49km from city centerMy family stayed at Pueblo Bonito Emerald Bay Feb 18-Mar 4, 2023. As always we had a wonderful visit at Pueblo Bonito. We are extremely thankful for the wonderful people working so hard to make our vacation relaxing. Melissa and Enrique are very friendly and helpful. Melissa took such good care of us. My son got sick when we were there and she made sure to help us get a doctor. He was feeling better in no time! At the Cordelier, Carmen, Jairo, Claudio, Nahu, Ariel without fail are welcoming and attentive. At the poolside, Felipe was the absolute best. Antonio at the front entrance was a familiar welcoming face who went above and beyond to help us out. The only negatives I have is that the lounge chairs by the poolside are very uncomfortable. It was quite difficult to get out of the chairs. Also, there was one employee, named Idilia, up front in the lobby that was extremely rude. She approached us when we were waiting and started scolding us. It was very unprofessional and I was quite surprised as everyone else at Pueblo Bonito has been so friendly and helpful.

|5.02km from city centerThere are many reasons I like the Palms Hotel. The first is location is in the golden zone centrally located. The rooms are clean, and the air conditioner gets as cold as anyone could ever desire. The times I have stayed here I have had a room with two double beds, a small refrigerator, a Hotel size coffee maker, small table 2 chairs, a desk with one chair a flat screen television about 36 inches, a safe and ironing board. The television channels for English speaking folks are Fox News, CNN international, TNT, A &E, Cinemax and Fox. The bathroom has a huge shower, a single sink a blow dryer and they supply soap, shampoo and cream. I like the fact that the sink, toilet and shower are in one room. So I can get dressing without waking my husband. The hot water gets very hot and the water pressure is good. I mention this because I saw a post that said the water pressure was poor, it is not . The swimming pool is an infinity pool that looks out over the ocean. The pool was entirely too cold for my liking. One restaurant is located overlooking the beach, and the other is in the lobby. The food is pretty good although not excellent. The service is excellent. The staff is so friendly, especially around the pool. They have a small store in the hotel that sells, soda, chips, hats, toiletries, toys etc. and the prices are reasonable. This hotel used to be a Holiday Inn. It’s an excellent deal, clean and nice.

|5.7km from city centerI've sat on this for a few days because it's hard to sum up everything that happened at the Oceano Palace. It was a tough trip but I do want to give kudos to the staff who did their best to make us feel welcome and taken care of. - After a very long travel day, check-in took close to an hour and we were given zero instruction on how things operated -- bracelet policy, towel lending, restaurant schedules, etc. We were just handed a key and sent on our way - Night one half of our room flooded because our air conditioner was leaking. It took 4 days for them to fix it so we just kept piles of towels under the dripping in hopes of containing the mess - My family is from the U.S. and most of us do not speak fluent Spanish-- no big deal! We understand we're in Mexico and were ready to dive right in! -- a couple employees were very kind and patient with us but many were incredibly rude. The two bartenders than run the indoor-outdoor bar by the pool most of the day made fun of the ”Gringas” every time we came to get a drink. It was demoralizing and I eventually just started sending my husband because I was tired of being treated that way. -The restaurant staff was very kind. Unfortunately, the buffet food made 9 out of the 11 people in our group very very ill. We paid for an all inclusive package but were only able to enjoy the food the first half of the week. The last few days we ordered fast food through Uber Eats. I did not think I would be eating KFC and McDonalds and a beautiful Mexican resort. - Ice and water were difficult to come by. We didn't drink the tap water and didn't trust anything but bottled water by the end of the trip. Each time we asked for more water I felt like we were being a nuisance. -The pool -- the pool and beach area are beautiful and they DO get crowded but that is to be expected. Our first few days there, right at the entrance off the property to the beach, there was a broken pipe leaking black liquid that ran a river right to the ocean. It smelled like sewage and seemed extremely dangerous as we had to step around it each time we went on and off the beach. - Activities, I'm saving the best part of the trip for last-- Leo and the group of employees leading resort activities work their butts off. They always have a smile and are welcoming to everyone at the resort-- even the sole American family (that's us!). On July 4th, the activities crew wished us a Happy Independence Day (and we're not particularly patriotic...) and told us that todays activities were dedicated to the holiday. It was an extremely kin gesture with a sole purpose of making us feel welcome. The entire resort should take their lead because if they did, this experience would have been amazing. I would not recommend anyone stay at the Oceano Palace mostly because as I'm writing this I'm still very ill from what I consumed on the property. I was so excited to go to a location that wasn't full of U.S. tourists but I did expect a bit more kindness. I know the U.

Always a welcoming atmosphere every day during our stay by all staff - the great manager Daniel, the super front desk staff, waiters, cleaning staff, housekeeping and maintenance staff. Poolside bar service and snacks in the afternoon are a nice touch. Lots of clean lounge chairs and umbrellas. Our home away from home!

|4.31km from city centerOur family of 5 had stayed at this resort for the first time. We have 3 kids ages 6, 12, and 15. We had a wonderful time. We decided to go with the all-inclusive package. We had a difficult time finding reviews on the all-inclusive so decided to give it a chance. We're glad we did. It was worth the money. The food was good, drinks were great, and we enjoyed some of the excursions including zip-lining and going to deer island. The highlight of our trip was Adrian who is a server at the pool. His English was excellent and he worked so hard to serve our family. He learned what we liked and how we liked things and was proactive to make sure we had everything we needed. He was fun and his service was a large part of why our time was so relaxing and special. We also loved that the resort was so close to the ocean. The water was so warm and we had a great time playing in the water with our kids. The rooms gave us a nice place to rest when we got too hot or needed a break. The WiFi worked well for us and was fast enough to stream movies and do a long Zoom work meeting. We had a great time and hope we can return someday.

|4.01km from city centerThis hotel is well located, rooms have an ocean view, beds are comfy, restaurant makes yummy food and it’s very affordable. Beautiful sundeck overlooking the beach/ocean and Deer Island. Only downfall is the bands that show up on the public beach and play for hours and hours. They have really loud speakers and play so loud that you cant relax, have a nap or even have a conversation with someone sitting next to you. We’ve complained to the hotel and there is nothing they can do until 8pm. They usually play for over 4hrs. Not relaxing at all. It is unfortunate because this hotel is great but I am looking forward now to leaving.

|3.45km from city centerWe booked this hotel at the last minute because our AirBnB was a bust. Went here with a group of 6 women and booked the two bedroom suite on the 7th floor. This place was amazing! All of the staff were super nice and extremely accommodating from the restaurant staff to housekeeping, to the men who helped out on the beach in front of the resort. We enjoyed drinks at the Oyster Bar. Wouldn’t suggest doing this unless you wanna pay USA prices for shots. We left with an unexpected $100 tab! If you stick with mixed/frozen drinks it’s not as expensive. Would recommend a Miami Vice over expensive shots. Location is great within walking distance of a lot of places. Catching a ride is super easy because the taxis wait outside of the resort. This resort is right on the beach and has a nice seating area. Only gripe and why I took off one star is the vendors. It would be nice if the people working for the resort assisted with shoeing the beach vendors away. The amount of times I had to say “no” was ridiculous. They almost make it hard to really enjoy the beach. I had to pretend I was asleep so they would leave me alone. Definitely recommend this place for the staff and great room. The views were amazing, we were able to sleep to the sound of the waves and watch the most beautiful sunsets. Amazing staff. Great location. Clean room nice bathrooms.

|4.57km from city centerMy husband and I stayed 3 nights. The location was great for walking, catching a Palmonia for a tour, going to Mass at rhe Cathedral, and picking up amazing bakery at a place called Panama. The staff were friendly and hard working. Marco was a ”stand out” at the pool bar. He was super friendly and remembered us the next day. He is going places! We ate at the Thai restaurant the first night which was very good. Italian, the 2nd night was average. We enjoyed the live piano and the singer/waiter. The sushi restaurant was excellent our 3rd night. We were on the all-inclusive plan. Breakfast at El Patio across the street pretty good. Take bridge to get there. The place is perfect for families with kids! The kids loved the pool area and cliff jumping. It was very noisy even in our room since we overlooked the pool. The pillow cases were too short for the pillows and the sheets too short for the mattress. Fortunately, the mattress was comfortable. Pro Tip: Pool at the El Cid Granada is quiet and peaceful if you need this. We moved to a more peaceful resort on the outskirts for the next 3 nights.

|3.68km from city centerThe location of their private beach is the best in my opinion it’s so clean. The service of the hotel is too strict. I ran into problems because of the bracelet thing. One of my family members got her deers erased by being in the beach and she was stopped and asked to go to the reception to check if she was a guest at the hotel but we told the security to look at our bracelets and they were from the hotel and my grandmas was also fading yet he didn’t believe us so we had to go to the reception. It was time wasted that we had to deal with just for them to be yes they are guests. And then it happened again because the first time they didn’t change our bracelets when they should’ve have done that in the first place.

|5.75km from city centerI stayed here for a week, and it was a very clean hotel, always well kept and directly on the beach. I had a superior room, with fridge, coffee maker (although coffee was only supplied for one day) blender, toaster and cutlery but no pots or pan. I had a great view of the beach from the 6th floor and the front desk was very helpful. I changed a room, at no cost, and they were very accommodation. The bar next door, Dieago, had music most nights, but did not last too long. There are restaurants, bars and shops very close by. The nationals made up most of the clientele at this time of year.

|3.23km from city centerThe location is great, the pool area is very nice, and the restaurant ”condimento” is great during the breakfast buffet. However, I would not recommend the hotel for the following reasons: -My room was ugly, dated, and in bad condition. Additionally, there were bugs in the ceiling. -The hallways in the hotel smelled bad due to the garbage being stored outside on the bottom floor (I have pictures) and the open property next door having a garbage disposal area right next to Emporio hotel. -The valet parking took too long to bring vehicles to customers. -The bar was attended by young people unaware of customer service, the waiters and bartenders needed to be trained. Some waiters would charge you for drinks before delivering, and others would not. Most customers had to go to the bar because waiters did not approach anybody for orders or drinks. Lastly, the bartenders would play music randomly and stop/interrupt the songs if they did not like it, making it very annoying. -It was very inconvenient not being able to bring coffee, water, or food to my hotel room. I recommend the hotel for the breakfast buffet. It has a great view, and the service during breakfast was good!
