Location: This place is in a central location, close to restaurants and the esplanade, and within a reasonable walking distance from the archaeological museum. Parking is available on the street, however depending on what time you're there, you may have to pay. This area can be a challenge to drive through, due to the one-way streets in this vicinity. We arrived earlier than expected, and no one was there to meet us, as there is no staffed reception. But when we called the phone number provided, the host came within 10 minutes to let us in and show us around. The host was friendly and helpful. Suite: The suite was clean, large, modern with basic furnishings. Our party had suites on two different floors. Air con worked well, and wifi was strong. It was also very quiet and comfortable for sleeping. Breakfast: Served in a breakfast room, with a reasonable selection of items.

This is our second trip to Reggio and our second stay at one of Guiseppe’s properties. Several years ago we stayed at the wonderful TownHouse Cavour...this time two nights at TownHouse Morgana. It exceeded our quite high expectations. Our room, one of four, was perfect....so beautifully designed yet incredibly functional. The bathroom alone is worth the trip with an incredible walk-in shower and high quality towels and toiletries. Everything is immaculate and posh. However the real treat is having Giuseppe as inn keeper. He is so charming. He is at one’s beck and call for every need. Although there is no big breakfast buffet, Giuseppe asked us what we would like and had it for us. Terrific coffee machine plus snacks etc. in the small but lovely public space. He sat and chatted with us filling us with lovely stories of Reggio. He suggested dinner ideas, carried our luggage and is indeed our friend in Reggio. The location is perfect....a few steps to the Lungomare which is beautiful and a few in the opposite direction to the main pedestrian street. This is perfect for experiencing a true Italian passagiata. Restaurants and cafes are plentiful. The museum housing the Riace bronzes are a short walk away as is the cathedral. We parked on the street right in front of the hotel...we were lucky that way! Please stay here!

Happily assisted in pickup from station and knowledge of local area. Also arranged transport with a driver so I could visit my Nonno's village in a remote area of Calbria. Clean and comfortable. Close to main street and local attractions. Short walk to sites and beach. Thank you for making my time in Calabria so safe and comfortable and memorable. A big thanks to Yuri also.

I stayed at the hotel on 2 occasions for a total of 15 nights in May 2019. The staff at the hotel were very helpful during the stay and just great in general. On the first stay I was given the room next to the road this was a good sized room with everything you need inside it. On the second visit I was given the room on the inside, the room was the same size and it had the same items as the first room. This room was much quieter. By this I mean you couldn't hear the cars/vans driving past as you could in the first room. Parking is available but note that it's a short walk from the hotel.

Management lives on the premises and are very helpful. Lorenzo, one of the owners also speaks good English. We had the 2 bedroom apartment on the top floor with fantastic views over the city and the bay. The apartment comes fully equipped with anything you could possibly need to entertain at home and it also has a large roof top deck with lots of seating. They also supply you with the yummiest cookies, some favored with bergamot oil for which the region is famous, every morning. I would definitely stay here again if I came back to the region.

We are currently staying at the Hotel Medinblu and cannot say enough good things about the property and its staff. Room: Meticulously clean and I am extremely picky! You can walk barefoot and not end up with dirty feet but you don’t have to go barefoot because they provide private slippers. Plenty of clothes storage, a lit safe, coffee/tea self-service, a decent stacked fridge. Ambient and also clear lighting to select from. Responsive and quiet temperature control. Modern furnishings and a firm bed with two pillows each for an easy night’s sleep or afternoon nap. The remote controlled automatic window shutters permit you to sleep at anytime of day and the street is quiet. Bathroom: Just the right toiletries, room to place all of the extra things you bring around the sink, above or under it, good lighting, comfy shower without mold, mildew or stains, soft Towels that do not smell of bleach, Clean. Clean, Clean! Breakfast: beautiful view overlooking the water, helpful and kind staff even if you come to breakfast in the last 10 minutes, a million choices of all good healthy things to eat for breakfast. Even fresh made to order scrambled eggs and other items are available. One of the best things, for me, is the hotel hallway and rooms do not smell of any fake cover-up spray nor of the sewer in the bathroom. This is majorly important to me with allergies and an amazing olfactory. Location: a short pleasurable walk to the sea front and a endless boardwalk with a generally refreshing breeze. It feels very safe even in the evening. The city is spotless! We arrived here after a few days in Naples and it is night and day, while Naples is a fun, historic location, and should not be missed, the cleanliness here in Reggio Calabria around the hotel is amazingly different. Walking distance to many things including an interesting museum where I learned about the history of the area. Taxi: the transfer service the hotel helps obtain for a fee lower than we could find a taxi ourselves was kind, with a clean vehicle and safe driver. I’m sure I’m missing something but don’t hesitate, reserve your room NOW!

Al Castello is conviniently located just steps away from the shorefront and the traffic-free zone. If you come by car, there is also no problem for free parking just next to the building. One floor of an old building has been converted to rental rooms. For most of the day, the owner/manager is at the reception, which was very convenient, since he was very helpful with the advice where to go and what to see, made us a cup of coffee, etc. Our room was spacious, including a large and modern bathroom. Sleeping quality was good, except for the noise from the corridor (poor soundproofing). The breakfast was simple, with no bread and cold cuts, but with delicious home-made jams and biscuits. We will return, but hope that the omnipresent strawberry air freshner will wear out a bit by then.

My stay here was perfect. The building has been in the local family for generations and I think that helps make it feel so homely. The interiors are beautiful and stylish with a hint of rustic and great attention to detail. Chiara has a natural hosting spirit, which is a rare and subtle and beautiful thing, and was just what this slightly weary traveller needed. The cleanliness was impeccable (thanks Carmelita!) and my room had all the amenities and comfort I needed. It's located in a quiet area but near the main city street and the seafront (Reggio isn't that big). The breakfasts were yummy and plentiful and served in a cool outdoor marquee, which was a really nice touch. Be sure to ask where the nearby diner/restaurant is that's also a family business - it's quite the experience and a great opportunity to meet some of Chiara's family, who are also so friendly. Enjoy your stay there - I'm confident you will!

I've stayed at this B&B several times over several years and I am always looking forward to staying here. Franco and his staff have gone out of their way to accommodate me and they are so helpful and friendly with any request. Franco knows a lot about the area and its history and he is ready to loan you his books about this part of Italy. The rooms are simple but are kept very clean and well supplied. The internet works fast, which, in my experience, isn't always the case around these parts. The location is excellent for travelers without a car. All sightseeing and the fantastic museum are on walking distance as is the beach, the open market and the shopping area. Of course having the train station on a stone warp distance is a great plus. Sicily is a 20 minute ferry crossing away.

Having now stayed in a few of Reggio’s hotels, I’ve come to accept certain inevitabilities. Nice enough but old fashioned. As I walked to the far end of Garibaldi from Reggio Centrale, further than I’d ever been, right next to the port, I braced for the worst. However upon entry to reception my eyebrows were raised in a positive manner. There were 2 members of staff I dealt this, one spoke perfect English, the other spoke none, but both friendly and helpful. The lobby was very modern and clean, though that doesn’t always mean much. However, when I got to my room I was, again, very surprised, in a good way. The hotel is obviously either very new or very recently renovated, which means it’s modern and new refurbished. The rooms are also an abnormally good size for Italy with good air conditioning. One flaw is that it’s one of those 2 single beds with a double bed sheet over it instead of a double bed affair but I’ll let that slide. Breakfast was standard continental fare in the rather lovely dining area. As a bonus though, there is actually a small pizza takeaway built into it that opens at night. I never had any pizza, but it was incredibly handy for drinks at night. Easily the best hotel I’ve staid in when visiting Reggio, this would be ideal for those looking to take advantage of the port. The bed thing did bother me, but for the price - this is excellent

Good room and fine breakfast from host who do his utmost to make a pleasant stay for you. Situated three blocks from the Corso you may say that it is in the center of the town and thus close to the sparse number of attractions in Reggio. On Booking.com where we did our booking the B&B states that parking is available which is not really the case, since he only offers public parking in the street. We were somewhat unhappy when this was revealed, because in the car-crowded downtown street parking is very difficult except in the evening. A garage nearby offers 24 hour parking for 8 euro and this could perhaps be offered as an option by the host (we discovered it too late).

This was a great overnight stop before flying out the next day. Elisa was a charming hostess who speaks perfect English, and is very caring and helpful. She and her father, Lorenzo, were so kind - picking us up at the train station and taking us to the airport. The patio/terrace offers a view of the runway (no problem - few planes) and a view of Mt. I was in Reggio for work and booked into the Excelsior without much thought. I simply wanted somewhere central. The room was delightful and spotless, the staff attentive and charming going out of their way to accommodate my requests, and breakfast excellent. The view from the breakfast room was quite exquisite, looking over the straits to Etna. I had a huge amount of work to do while in Reggio, and was disappointed not to have time to pop across to the museum opposite (where on a previous trip I had seen the two finest Greek bronzes in the world). But my room was perfect for working: quiet, excellent internet connection, well-lit. I really loved this place. I cannot understand the reviewer who described the hotel as characterised by 'faded grandeur'; it strikes me as delightful and elegant.

- quiet room on the second floor when we first arrived on 10/9 which was brilliant - soundproofing so important. Room No 13 (1st floor) when we came back on 19/9 for one night still good but a bit more noise. - the owner of the BnB is very helpful and friendly. Gave good recommendation for dinner at Artemesia for a reasonable seafood dinner - R.C. is famous for their fresh seafood. See restaurants for separate food reviews. - close to everything as we went out for dinner on 10/9 and breakfast on 19/9. Easy walk to Lungo mare (the sea boardwalk) - they have on site locked garage - a rarity in Italy as we were to discover. Many places suggest off site parking - paid or on the streets with usual parking restrictions

My cousins and I booked three rooms here for three nights and had the entire B&B to ourselves for most of that time. This place is a great value for budget travelers in Reggio. I booked a single room for about $40 and was upgraded to the triple room, which was huge for one person, and included an equally spacious and modern bathroom. Location is central, with easy and free parking across the street, safe surroundings, and a quick walk into the center of town (lungomare, castle, duomo, etc). Best of all, Salvatore, the owner was extremely gracious in accommodating our late arrival, offering us insight about where to go/what to see in the area, and even keeping our luggage for us until our late afternoon departure. Breakfast at a nearby cafe was also a nice addition. I'd like to give this place 4.5 stars -- the only drawbacks were noise from cars passing on the road during the night (bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper like me) and some mold in the bathroom. Overall a great stay in Reggio, and I'd return as a solo traveler or with family. Grazie mille, Salvatore!

I arrived in Reggio by train and it was only a 4 minute walk to the hotel (up a slight hill to get there, but down hill in the morning of course!). The receptionist spoke reasonable English and I was checked in quickly. I went up to my room which was spacious, spotlessly clean and had a nice double bed. It had got quite cold in the South of Italy by the time I stayed, so I had to put the room heating on but it was left on whilst I went to the restaurant for dinner and the room was lovely and warm when I got back. As I said above, I had dinner (both nights I stayed) in the hotel's restaurant - perfect service, good food and a superb glass of wine accompanying it. My one comment was that the food was quite salty - for example the lentil & potato soup seemed to have a lot of extra salt. Generally though it was OK. Breakfast was acceptable, but as others have said it needs a bit more choice. I had a superb night's sleep both nights.

The location: Very central, a few minutes walk to the coast line overlooking Sicily, lots of food places nearby and very central. Parking: 'Free' was a stretch, we arrived in the evening, and the only places would have required a 7.30am payment. We stayed up until 1 and were able to get a free spot in the piazza. Monday night with festivities so busy, but not crazy. I'm unsure how parking would be on a weekday, but suspect any weekend visits would be like this. The hosts: Were friendly and easy to reach. They were polite when we had to call at 1.30am when our front door key did not work, letting us in straight away. What wasn't so nice was being hurried up as the room needed to be cleaned at 10.30 out was shown to be 11am. Payment: Cash only The room: Very clean and well sized, with a big bed, TV and air conditioning. The bathroom had a large shower. Unfortunately the shower door dragged quite significantly making it virtually impossible to close properly and limiting privacy.

I reserved a room at B&B Sangiorgio for a month while interviewing for jobs. Once I was there I was unfortunately stuck as I was unable to find anything else available in that particular location. I did choose that location because it was so accessible walking, bus and train. Unfortunately, it was very dirty. Immediately upon arrival I noticed dirty floors and mold in the fridge. I called Steve (the owner) and he said someone would be by the next day to clean the floors-the next day the floors were swept but not mopped, the floors were so dirty that I asked Steve for a mop and bucket to do it myself and I did. The water from mopping was Black! I could not believe how dirty it was. I was truly disappointed by the dirty floors, the mold in the fridge and the stains on the so-called fresh blankets. I did take video and pics of it and sent it to Steve but he never had a sense of urgency and didn’t respond at times. I wasn’t aware that he was leaving the country during two weeks of my stay so I had no way of resolving anything. Just terrible. There was no breakfast provided at that location but he did invite me to his other location (Casa Lagana) for breakfast which was kind, but due to off season he did not have many options, usually the same cornetti or cookies days in a row and the breakfast area is in a really old attic that is very aesthetically unappealing although you do have the option to sit outside on the roof which is very nice. I wouldn’t stay there again and since that experience I have found many other better options. Live and learn, I guess.
