I stayed here for a week and thoroughly enjoyed my visit. I would say the hotel's two biggest strengths are its location and the friendliness of its staff. Everyone, from the people at the front desk, to the servers in the attached pub, to the cleaning lady on my floor, were all very friendly. My room was clean and it had a nice spacious bathroom/tub. The hotel felt very safe with an extra key pad for security to get to the elevator to the rooms. My only small small suggestion for improvement is that the carpet in my room was looking a bit old and dingy and could be replaced soon. But again--I had a really lovely stay here and I would definitely consider this hotel again next time I'm in Dublin.

This hotel is 5-star price-wise only. For example, when we arrived, we have been welcomed by the Customer Care Person, who explained to us who she is, but said nothing on how she can help us and definitely nothing about the construction on the 4th floor of the hotel. So, banging starts at 8:30, which presumes that everyone is up and about at that hour. Apparently, they were supposed to notify me about it via e-mail, but someone just forgot about it... If I knew there will be construction at the hotel, I would have never stayed here. I guess that's why I never got that email... The concierge reached out to us a while ago asking why we are staying at the hotel so long. We have written to him in a reasonable detail. No response. Zero follow-up. The concierge in general was great in instructing us how we can do things ourselves. Another example. We return to the hotel at 10 pm, and our ever-hungry teenagers would like to eat something. - We are sorry but all the restaurants close their kitchens at 9:30 pm, and there is no room service. - Can we have have at least some bread and butter? (And here, the staff at 5 or even 4-star hotel would respond ”Let me see what I can do.” But instead we heard:) - No. You need to take care of it by yourself. And, it is like this, pretty much with everything service-wise at this hotel. Only the staff of the first-floor café seemed to know what they are doing. It just looks like the place lacks direction from the management that is lost and confused. To add to the ”attractions” we could hear very clearly all the water noises coming from a room next door. We also had some trouble falling asleep as the guy next door snored like a hog in heat. I also think that having the permanently screwed through cracked dial to a heated towel rack is something that I would find at a 2-star hotel, and I still would be surprised... There was 6 of us in 3 rooms, and we stayed here for 6 nights. The impressions were all the same. It's the details that matter both in the customer service and the decor, and it is simply not a case here. At the end of our stay, the front desk staff has made a scene, because we wanted a detailed invoice. Thanks to that though we found out they have charged us additional numerous positions from the mini bar, which we did NOT use. So, please be careful they will try to cheat you.

I had to find a Hotel quickly in Dublin as my regular place was sold out. This was an incredible surprise. The rooms are advertised as smaller but honestly even though they are not large they are so well laid out it seemed much larger than it was. It had most everything I am used to such as a refrigerator, Hot water electric pot, a place to set my luggage on and hang up my clothes. It even had a decent sized shower and bathroom area. It has a good sized room safe, a fold down area for a laptop and quite a large flat screen Television with a good number of channels. The place seemed like new and was immaculate. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was really good and well worth the price. Tucked away a few steps off the main drag so it was quiet as well.

The place is in a great location but the keys to the room are supposed to be picked up in a different location that is quite far from the hotel. The staff is supposed to be multilingual but when we called for help to get the keys we got unlucky and had someone over the phone that struggled with English (in Ireland..). The place is overall very clean but the decorative pillows don’t seem to get washed. It’s ok for a brief stay, not for a long one as there’s not wardrobe. Nowhere to store anything or at least put the luggage. Also, the kitchen has silverware and mugs but nothing to clean them. For this price, I was expecting a little bit more attention to details.

In my opinion the Marlin hotel is more like a very fancy hostel than a traditional four star hotel. That comes as a bit of a surprise if you are not expecting it! On the plus side it’s very clean, very unique style, friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere. The cons are that the king rooms are just too small for two people. Travellers with a lot of luggage will struggle. The breakfast was average for the price. The dining option is bar food only. The high price tag is for the excellent location, not the accommodation. We did really enjoy our stay but would consider other options with more spacious rooms for our next stay in Dublin City centre.

I stayed for four nights with my teenage daughter on a mother-daughter trip. Got a great rate booking a few months in advance, and I am so impressed with the value received for the price. We were given a room with two beds on the top floor facing the courtyard- it was quiet and comfortable. I brought earplugs after reading some reviews about noise, but we didn’t need them. The bathroom was updated and the shower was great- hot and nice pressure. The beds were a little “creaky” but comfortable, and the linens were cozy. The hotel staff were helpful, the restaurant was good for breakfast (although we chose to eat elsewhere most mornings) and Darkey Kelly’s pub on the first floor had great food and music. The location is fantastic- we were able to walk pretty much anywhere we wanted to go. I really can’t find a single fault with this hotel for the price. Would definitely stay again.

This hotel was an excellent choice , a week before our stay the hotel contacted myself to confirm we were still planning on visiting I mentioned in my reply that it was a surprise trip for my wife's 50th and we were greeted in our room with a birthday card and box of chocolates for my wife . But this was typical of the excellent service the hotel and staff provided during our stay , the hotel was clean and decorated to a high standard . The rooms were comfortable and clean and were serviced well , breakfast was excellent plenty of choice and the food in the restaurant in the evening was excellent quality . The hotel is in an excellent position for ease of access to the airport or city center of Dublin and both are accessed by a regular and frequent inexpensive bus service or the slightly more energetic it's a 30 min walk to the city . We will definitely be returning and will recommend to our friends and family

The sanitation is very good, the room layout is reasonable and neat, far from the city, but the downstairs is the starting point of the tram, it is very convenient to go to the airport, the 747 and 757 are separated by a small block on the south side of the hotel. 7 euros direct to the airport. It seems that green apples are available every day in the corridor. The restaurant bar is good and there is an open-air balcony outside.

Beautiful hotel in a peaceful and gorgeous part of Dublin. A few minutes walk away from the Green Line LUAS. The more compact bedrooms are a bit on the small side for a couple, but they’re still well appointed, very new and clean, and comfortable. The hotel bar is cosy and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The only downside is the lack of parking, you’ll have to park onstreet at fairly considerable expense. Not really the fault of the hotel, but it is something to note if you’re driving here.

This hotel is perfect, location is amazing (hidden gem), and the staff...unbeilable fantastic! I want to start the review by thanking, Lidia, Abby, Alon, Dana and Lidia. I stayed at this hotel: 2 nights on my first trip (mid February) and then 3 nights with my family (early March). From the moment you arrive, you know this is not your typical hotel. It is more like an exclusive apartment with guest services. Do not expect the traditional hotel feel. I felt like I had my own apartment in the middle of Dublin and I had a friend at the front desk to guide me, provide me with recommendations and assist me with any question or service that I needed. Amazing! It made my stay in Dublin feel like I was at home. They knew me by name and knew what I needed. There is no elevator, which made it even better as I was able to do a bit of work-out getting to my room and along the way, I met a few of the other guests. This is not a party place, a loud and obnoxious place, you will not find rude people. Just guests who are interested in feeling like they are home. Since I stayed here in two different occasions, I was able to experience two different rooms both in the upper floor, one facing west and the other east. No street noise at night and its was quiet. The rooms have their own AC units which allows you to control the temperature in them. The housekeeping ladies (Dana and Lidia) will make sure your room is tidy every time you come back from your daily outing. Lidia will make sure that your are welcomed and Abby and Alon will make sure that you are taken care in the weekend and evenings. Can't say enough about this place! Perfect gem and a great place to be at.

Had a 4 night break a week ago. We had very good service particularly in the dining room. My husband has food intolerances and Alina, who I think was in charge of the dining room, was very good. She put the gluten free bread in a specially designated toaster in the kitchen, after the first morning she automatically did this when she saw us. Otherwise it was a buffet type breakfast, both cooked and continental, and put your own bread in the toaster. Lucas was our waiter and made us feel very welcome, he managed his section of the dining room very efficiently, brought us pots of coffee and tea, and cleared our table as we went along, we certainly tucked in! The hot food behind the buffet counter was constantly being freshly cooked particularly the eggs (personally I don't hot food that has stood for ages, especially eggs) We went as foot passengers from Holyhead, it wasn't worth taking the car, we chose the Arlington for it's central location. Someone showed us how to download an app to use the local transport, but the hotel is so close to the main tourist attractions that we just walked, it was easier. Being over retirement age, I went back to the hotel room for a ''rest” for a couple of hours in the afternoon. There was a lot of evening entertainment very close to the hotel, we went to 3 live entertainment events. The room was a good size, well serviced each day, nicely furnished, an old type shower worked well, and it had an extremely large comfy double bed. The view was a sort of courtyard, must admit not that attractive a view, but considering what we paid was overall very good value for money. Finally, Heather on reception was very good for information and booked our taxi back to the port. (on the way there just got the shuttle bus)

Last time I stayed here ( about 6 years ago?) room was dirty so have not been back again until three weeks ago. Location is superb right at the edge of Temple bar along the River Liffey -downside its a party area so like most Hotels in this area dont plan to sleep until late as lots of noise from bars etc. Room was lovely with lots of nice touches -only big issues I had was in 12c Dublin coming from 32c Jakarta and central heating did not work-you have to call reception to get it switched on then it cuts off every hour and does not work again until you call reception-totally unacceptable for a 5 star Hotel . Ended calling them five times so not much sleep!! It was a Tuesday night so looked like one of the bars in the Hotel was shut-but lots outside anyhow. Did not have breakfast as last time I did was served-took ages and was cold-judging by recent reviews on tripadvisor looks like this still. Reception on check in and out would not win any prizes for their hospitality and were just ok-could learn from The Morrison across the river where I stayed a few nights earlier -genuine hospitality. Would I stay there again -NO -leave it to Bono and the locals -heat is a basic requirement as is hospitality-better Hotels for the same or less money to be had in Dublin City.

This is a bit of a mixed bag; perfectly OK to stay for a single night before flying out, but for several days if you have to work, then maybe consider one of the Hiltons near the City centre. The good bits: -Hotel foyer & restaurant has a good layout -Parking is available in the underground car park Food in the restaurant is good For improvement: -Hotel corridors are dingy... carpets need replacing and so too lighting. It's a bit depressing -Rooms are ok (there are refurbished rooms that you might get), but if facing the road - a bit noisy -Aircon terrible... mind of its own -Service in the restaurant is incredibly slow. Took 2hrs to get meal, and of the three that served us, there was no intervention to check nor when we pointed out the wait, any immediate offer to resolve.. and it was undercooked. -The gym is small for a hotel of this size -Location is 10~15min from airport and 30 to the City via the toll tunnel. Above all, the restaurant service needs fixing and more attention made to how long dishes are taking. It's basic stuff really.

I have stayed at 4 or 5 hotels in my various trips to Ireland. I even stayed at a 5 star resort the last time I traveled here and I will say hands down the room at the Alex was by far the nicest room I have stayed in. It's not directly in the town center but it's just a 10 min walk away and one I didn't mind based on the quality of the room. My only wish was that it had a pool. There is a work out facility across the street that I never checked out so one might have been there. If I ever go back to Dublin I would definitely stay here again. They have a couple of restaurants near by both places were excellent one served the best fish in chips that I have ever had the other had a great Guinness beef pie.

We stayed here as a group of 6 for the weekend. From the moment we arrived, which was fairly late in the evening, until checkout it was a top class experience. Lami, on reception, was warm, friendly, knowledgeable, full of ideas for our stay, and she couldn't do more to make sure our stay was one to remember. There was also a chap on that night alongside Lami, unfortunately we didn't get his name, but he too was just brilliant. The apartment itself was fabulous, clean, with every kitchen appliance you'd need, and the beds were comfy and gave a great nights sleep. The breakfast was one of the best we've had. A great choice of items, relaxed atmosphere, and great value for money. We also had a pizza in the hotel at 1230 one evening and that too was delicious. Thoroughly would recommend this to everyone and we will definitely stay here again. Thank you all for a great stay!

Having never been to Dublin before, I picked the Gardiner Lodge without much to go on. Happily, I made the right decision. In fact, I feel like I hit the jackpot. I have been here for almost a week and I have had nothing but the most positive experiences. The people at the desk are supremely knowledgeable, attentive, friendly, and helpful. The kitchen staff serves up a wonderful breakfast every morning under the natural light in the solarium/dining room. For those mornings when I could not wait until 8am (at which point the Irish breakfasts begin to appear), a continental buffet has been waiting for me at 7am. The rooms must surely have been remodeled recently; mine looks and feels brand new. The Gardiner is perfectly located for my purposes, just above the corner of Gardiner and Talbot. Two wonderful (and very different) pubs--the Celt (with Irish music) and Grainger's (with peace and quiet)--are within a stone's throw on Talbot. There is espresso to be had on the intersection itself. Gardiner Street is busy with traffic, but no street noise ever reached my room (#16); only the sound of the occasional seagull. Dublin north of the river is not as ”well-heeled” as Dublin south of the river, and that's exactly the way I like it. Talbot is a wonderfully unassuming street with a pleasing mix of restaurants, formal and informal. Bottom line: I will come back to the Gardiner Lodge the next time I am here.

My colleague and I stayed here for 4 weeks on a business trip including a period of Covid quarantine so being confined to the apartment for 14 days has coloured my opinion. They were very helpful and attentive and the housekeeping was very good but the developer and architect didn't win my praise. Sandyford was convenient for us but the area is a warren of charmless new developments, several of which have stalled and are left unfinished. There are some restaurants and coffee shops nearby and a Dunnes and Aldi within walking distance and the Luas tram at the foot of the road is a boon for getting to places with a bit more to offer. There is a also a weekly food truck market across the street. The beds are comfortable and the mattresses were clean but I agree with other posters that they are too high to sit on to tie your shoes. We found several lamps didn't have working bulbs but these were quickly replaced once the management were notified. The presence of three restaurants on the ground level of means that the smell from their fryers wafts up when you are on your balcony. I could not identify the source but every few hours, day and night, there is a loud clattering that sounds like a bottle-bank being emptied. Our balcony had no view except of a car park hemmed in on four sides by tall buildings. The apartments have plenty of windows and light but that only affords your neighbours in the office buildings across the breezeway a clear view of your bedroom and living room and you a view of their desks, unless you keep the curtains closed. There was obviously a common area with benches and a play equipment built for the development but the access to this is now prevented by a padlocked gate. Protruding glass box windows might be attractive from the outside and provide space and light into the bedrooms but when it rains (as it does in Dublin) the rain drumming on the roof glass is loud enough to disturb your sleep. A very particular complaint was the useless key-card entry system which constantly failed and locked us out. The management are well aware of this as they told us to keep our key-cards away from any electronic device (hardly practical for keeping in your purse or pocket) as this might wipe the magnetic *****e. In five weeks we were locked out (with both cards failing) four times which is very annoying when coming home late and the reception has closed. The management sent over new cards in a taxi which took 30 minutes. The car parking spaces underground are a bit tight. The code to the building and garage (but not your apartment) changes weekly so you have to make a note of it when the slip is passed under your door telling you the new code. The trash collection area is disgusting, there are lots of bins but evidently these are not enough or they're not emptied often enough. Rem

We stayed at the Roxford Lodge for 3 nights in September 2022. We arrived wearily after an overnight flight, at 10:00 am. While check-in is clearly stated to begin at 3 pm, the front desk provided us with complimentary tea and croissants in the front room while they readied a room of a guest who had checked out early. Not expected at all, but so appreciated. When it turned out later that our particular room was affected by some unexpected noise, the hotel staff again graciously accommodated our request for a room change the following day, and upgraded the room type as well. While the rooms could benefit from a little updating, the overall hospitality is reason enough to book a stay here. It appears that the lodge is owned by a woman and has an all-female staff, which was nice to see. The location is excellent. It is situated in a lovely neighborhood that is within a 20-minute walk to Trinity College and City Center. In addition, we found some great places to eat breakfast and dinner within a 5-7 minute walk. Thank you for a lovely stay!

My only regret is that we didn’t stay here longer! The location is perfect, the accommodation is lovely, clean, new, comfortably welcoming... perfect! We had two rooms in the back off of the sun room/ dining room and they were charming. Our host was so nice and we were able to meet her dad the next morning on our way out. The neighborhood is fantastic, there are a few restaurants/pubs and shops within walking distance and a bus if you wish to go to City Center instead of the 15 minute walk. I can’t wait to visit here again, in 2020!! ***UPDATE well we all know what happened in 2020😣 hence we finally made it back in 2023. This time we were able to stay for 3 nights and I’m so glad we did!! We attended events at Energia Park and Aviva Stadium which we both an easy walk from Donnybrook Hall. We walked into City Center, it was maybe 25-30 minute walk. Leaving City Center we took the DART from Tara and Pe**** stations to the Landsdowne Rd station which is about a 10-15 minute walk from Donnybrook Hall. Nothing has changed, still the perfect location and the hospitality is superb. I honestly can’t wait to come back and stay here again!

This hotel is incredible and I’m so happy I took a chance and made a reservation despite that I wasn’t sure as it was my first time visiting Dublin. The hospitality, the facilities and the location right in the heart of the city was PERFECT! They even help me schedule my tours and coordinate everything! My birthday was a Wednesday and the reception team sent me a sweet note, a box of chocolates and tickets for complementary drinks. This detail I will forever remember it and a special thank you to Dylan and Karen for showing up to my room and surprise me on my bday. Hope everyone can get to experience what I did this week. Thank you, Thank you Thank you!!! Going back home feeling happy, blessed and in love with this beautiful country. I will be back for sure 🇮🇪 Take care, Carla from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷

This hotel was perfect for a 2 night stay in Dublin. Very clean and quiet, but so close to the centre. Used the gym both mornings, which was used by several people and clean with towels, water, and a good choice of equipment. Good supply of toiletries, coffee and tea in the room, as well as several bottles water, which is always so welcome! Room small, but not tiny. Staff was fantastic- especially Sabrina who could not have done enough! She offered to organise any tours, and helped us with the Dublin express to the airport (much better than a taxi!). Would definitely stay again!
