|3.51km from city centerFunctional and spotlessly clean, this exceeded my expectations. I just wanted a bed for the night while visiting friends, but this would be an ideal place to stay if you were on a work visit. I didn’t use the kitchen or laundry room, but I can see these would be very useful if you were staying for an extended period. The iron and ironing board in the room was a useful addition. It was hard to cool the room with only one opening window, but it was one of the hottest days of the year when I visited. There are only three parking spaces, but plenty of parking available on nearby roads. Having the co-op just down the stairs would be very useful if you were staying for any length of time. Very impressed and I would definitely stay here again.

I was really reluctant to write this review as everyone I spoke to at the hotel during my stay was helpful and friendly, the staff there were top. However after complaining about the stay when checking out, again the woman I spoke to was lovely but said a manager would need to get in touch. It’s been four days and the owner/manager hasn’t. I gave them the opportunity to get in touch and see what went wrong, now I just need to be honest about the stay. This was the worst night sleep I ever had, in a hotel or otherwise. We paid for a suite, so one of the nicest rooms in the hotel. However from the moment we got in the room it was unbearable. The heat in the room was like being in a sauna - that isn’t an exaggeration. We went around the room to see if there were any radiators on that we didn’t spot! Unbearable. There is no air conditioning in the room just a tiny fan left on the side for us to use. That provided no relief. Maybe your thinking open a window, they are prevented from opening more than a few inches. So we were just stuck in this unbearable room with no alternative. In order to get the 2 hours sleep I did get that night. I had to get up and stand in a cold shower multiple times. This was a stop on a road trip my wife and I were having for our honeymoon. I rated all the other hotels 5 star they were amazing. This put a real downer in our otherwise perfect trip. I was embarrassed picking this hotel to stay in as one of our stops. Avoid it like the plague.

Food in the morning and in the evening was great in the hotel restaurant. Just a minor constructive comment for the hotel to consider; the car park area was very muddy, because of the recent heavy rain, so worth looking into the surfacing/drainage of the car park and/or having tarmac/paved paths to the hotel. Overall, highly recommend for location, quality and good service.

|0.76km from city centerAs a hotel owner I’m always very sceptical when staying elsewhere. The Ramada Encore was spotless, something which is usually a major concern for me. The bed was comfortable, the shower was lovely with great water pressure. Check-in and check-out were seamless, staff were very friendly and accommodating regarding my late check-in and request for a later check-out. Breakfast options were great for the average person, but as someone that eats low carb I was limited, but knew this when I paid for it, plenty of food available at the buffet though. There was a little noise from drunk people passing by on the street but it was a Friday night so not the hotel’s fault and didn’t last very long. No noise whatsoever indoors. Overall, very pleased with my stay, great value for money.

|2.53km from city centerWhen the three of us first arrived at the hotel it was strange. Very weird smell and look to the hotel. We got put in a hotel room and there was a leak in the bathroom and the double and single bed were pushed together (very strange when we booked one a room for three adults) . We got a room change which was very needed and we were grateful for this. But the second room was again very strange. No mirrors in normal positions (dressing table or bathroom wall) they were on the back of the hotel door and back of the bathroom door. Which is not good when you have female guests trying to do makeup and hair etc. Overall cannot complain about the room as when drunk and partied out it fit the need but from the start it was a regretful booking because it wasn’t a place you enjoyed staying at Just a place you had to stay at to avoid paying a ridiculous fee for

|0.52km from city centerMyself and a friend travelled to Leicester to combine visiting my Daughter at DMU and shopping ! It was our first time staying at this hotel and we were not disappointed . We were able to park in a secure car park very close by and were minutes away from the University , shops and Restaurants . The room was very spacious with 2 beds, tea and coffee facilities , hairdryer and an iron and ironing board and an en-suite shower room , everything was clean and very comfortable . Breakfast was included in the price and did not disappoint ! Cereals, fruits (huge selection) yoghurts, croissants , cold meats and cheeses, boiled eggs , toast and tea, coffee and fruit juice all with an unlimited supply . The staff were very pleasant and polite . I would definitely stay here again . The car park that we used only cost £10.00 from lunch time on the Saturday until 16:30 on the Sunday . Please note the car park is locked overnight and does not re open until 10am Sunday so would not suit people needing an early start .

The first room smelt of cannabis and the edge of the bed metal piece was sticking out with shower gel half empty. Therefore I was given another room which was in excellent condition, it was a lot bigger with a massive TV screen. This hotel’s bathroom had a hair dryer and a hair straightener too. They also had an ironing board. The person at the reception was very friendly, smiled no matter what and even offered tea whilst I was waiting. Some of the rooms had good views example you could see the Leicester wheel.

We stayed here for one night and were met with a long list of problems: The general cleanliness of the apartment was extremely poor, with multiple marks on all walls, and especially evident staining on the living area wall. Rips and large stains on the bedding. Lots of fungi build up in the shower area. No cutlery provided despite having an oven and hob. The glasses provided had cracks down them. Bathroom tiles and living room floor boards were loose. Dining chairs were falling apart. Bedroom wardrobe was falling forwards with nails sticking out the back of it Although stated there would be, no towels were provided (despite being 40 degrees outside and all needing showers). When we re-requested for these at check-in, they arrived almost 2 hours after arrival by which point we had to leave for our evening out. We have tried to contact management several times via email and phone calls after conversations we had with the manager during our stay where we expressed the issues we had. We have been ignored and provided with no resolution or even an apology for the conditions we were staying in. On occasions when we have got through on the phone and gave the name our booking was under, we got told by the staff member on the phone that they couldn't help and that the manager was busy before abruptly ending the call. I'd avoid staying here at all costs and go somewhere much cleaner and with friendlier and more understanding staff.

|5.39km from city centerDear Marriott Hotel Leicester, Thursday evening (18/08/22), I went to the Marriott Bar for a drink with a friend, between the hours of 8:15pm to 11:15pm, the ambiance was lovely as per usual, customer service was spot on and overall I was having an pleasant evening. Nonetheless with a consumption of a few drinks, my bladder was due to burst and I made a trip to the ladies. Whilst I was washing my hands, I heard someone in the cubicle flush the toilet, she came out and walked straight out the door! Yes that’s correct she didn’t WASH HER HANDS. This wasn’t just any women, it was an employee of the Marriott Hotel! I saw her walk to the Market Street bar/restaurant which is part of the hotel and she had continued to work! Marriott, do you not teach your staff members the very basics of hygiene and the importance around this??? It was rather disgusting and concerning to witness, especially to have seen this female work in the bar/restaurant area? Description of female: long black tied up hair, 5’4 approx and of a large build to put it in a polite manner! I’m just glad I didn’t vomit with such disgust!!! Yours truly :-)

Decent room size and the couch is good where you could seat on and enjoy the view of the Leicester City Centre. The room is clean and bed is comfortable. Hot and continental breakfast options just pay when you walkin. I will definitely return to Premier Inn for my next trip to Leicester. Highly recommend this hotel to friends.

We got here and was greeted at reception given our key and checked in and given check out details, WiFi password and some other information. Hotel looked lovely I have seen better but for £65 for two people is pretty good. Got to our room, nice bed spotless sheets and duvet. Lovely clean bathroom. I was surprised to see decaf coffee( only drink decaf) never seen it before in the tea/coffee trays. Bed was comfy slept well. Had all the things you would require in a hotel room, tv shower/ bath, tea/coffee, wardrobe,hair dryer, trouser press, iron/ironing board. Extra blankets. And towels (very clean and fresh smelling). The only negative which in my opinion isn’t a major issue is the smell of stale cigarette which only really came when the extractor fan was on. All in all a good nights sleep in a nice room.

The two gentlemen on the counter smiled the whole time we were there and made us feel extremely welcome. Our rooms were changed to be downstairs as we had our dog with us. They couldn't have been better. The rooms were very clean and welcoming. Small and cosy, but it's what we expected. Evening meal (curry) was really nice and well worth the money Woke up the Tuesday morning and everything changed. The breakfast staff didn't talk to us or smile once. The lady just pointed at the food when I asked what was included in our breakfast. We went for food in the evening and the staff were really rude and charged us the wrong price for our food and drinks. No apology for offered. There was a twenty minute wait from our first to fourth meal. Once again no apology. I asked twice for the naan bread for the curry and was finally told that there were none left. This was not explained when we ordered. She said we could have white bread if we wanted. The food was left on the counter one at a time, unlike the first night when it was all brought together to our table. In conclusion, the facilities were clean and easy to access, the beds for small but comfortable. Very nice shower. The staff on the first night deserve a pay rise, unlike the second who need to be retrained in their job roles

I was worried about leaving my bike on the street so I rang in the morning and they assured me there would be somewhere secure for me to leave my bike. Sure enough, upon arrival the guy was waiting for me with the gate open to park my bike behind the hostel. He took me through to the reception and although I did not eat or drink, the hostel was very cosy, quiet and everything in the city was easily accessible on foot. For the price the room was spacious, well equipped with a tv and sink, clean and comfy. When I checked out they let me leave my luggage, leathers and bike gear for hours while I had lunch. Outstanding service, excellent value for money. Would recommend and would stay again.

Comfy clean modern room with good amenities and a very good night sleep. Food was delicious and I sat in the bar which was filled with excited happy chatter and nice background music. Smoked mackerel with beetroot and the trio of Venison sausages washed down with very well kept Timothy Taylors Landlord, what a pleasant stay.

The facilities are old and the bathroom door cannot be completely closed. Stayed for two nights, the waiter cleaning the room at 11 o'clock the next day asked if I would clean it, because I was still packing things and let her come later, she was put on a stinky face, hey, very speechless.

As I live in Scotland, I did not find the time to come collect it during the months that followed the stay. I managed to go back today (2 October), was greeted and welcomed very warmly by Nadine at reception, and told her about my ring. She went to the back and looked through everything she could find, and much to my delight my ring was still there and she found it for me! I am so happy, it made my day. Thank you Nadine!

|0.33km from city centerSo I booked this for an overnight stay for our first anniversary. Plumped for the executive room with a king-size bed, stocked bar, and breakfast. The room was lovely and clean. But I noticed that the fridge only had water, but speaking to Clare in front of house promptly solved the situation with housekeeping coming up to stock the fridge. Also a little later to give us a shower curtain ( I hadn't even noticed it wasn't there). Nice kettle and tea and coffee, didn't use it but it was there. Did notice a hairdryer, use the robes and slippers and the iron. Breakfast was great with four non dairy milk options my only complaint as someone with a dairy allergy and not an eater of pork. Was that after paying for breakfast my choice was very limited to just cereal, some mushrooms, tomatoes and baked beans. Would suggest some vegan sausages, turkey bacon, tofu scramble on the menu as well as dairy free spread and cheese. But it was a lovely stay, amazingly friendly staff

|1.36km from city centerWe stayed at this hotel as a couple as we were attending an event at the rugby stadium, which is literally 30 seconds walk away. The room was absolutely spotless! Well kept and had everything we needed and more, hairdryer that actually dried my hair, iron/board, fridge, safe, kettle, even a posh coffee machine. The bathroom, well wow, it is a little small but to be honest, not too small. The shower, wow, there was a hole in the shower door so you could start the shower from the outside! It was also a handy hole for reaching my toiletries. The TV was great and room service was reasonably prices and pretty speedy! All of the staff we had contact with were friendly and looked happy to be there!! I've stayed in hotels from Fiji to Blackpool, from Glasgow to New Zealand and this rates in the top! We will definitely be staying here again.

|0.98km from city centerThere's no way anyone could feasibly give Glenfield Lodge 5* and I'm sure the owners don't even strive for that. It's less than a mile from the city centre and is basic - it's mainly used by companies to accommodate construction workers during the week. The room had a working basic TV, kettle, and sink. The toilet and bathroom (both very clean and functional) were at the end of the passage. The building is tired internally. No doubt about that. It is a place just to sleep but - here's the rest of it. The gentleman on duty was polite, friendly and thorough. Even though we were only staying for one night we were treated very well. The beds and bedding were clean and very comfortable. To our surprise, it was extremely quiet. Either no one stats there at the weekends or the residents are very considerate. And now the biggest thing - £37 for a twin room booked only a few days in advance. Incredible value for money.
