The photos on the website are misleading. We had one chair as our 'balcony furniture', the back terrace had rusty chairs,/no plants, I have no idea where the 'city view' could have been taken. The room is advertised as 15 sqm - but this includes the bathroom area. Having seen the room we decided we did not want to stay and returned to reception to say we wished to have a refund. We were advised that a refund is only available 48 hours before i.e. not when you actually see the room. We decided not to stay and went to another hotel. I take into account the fact that some areas have been painted recently and that it is not an 'expensive' hotel. However, information on a website should be accurate. Also - comments made by the hotel owner below say the hotel is a 'hostel' - if it is, why isn't called Hostel Epi d'Or? Hostel and hotel have different connotations.

This hotel is perfectly located across from the railway station which has direct links to Paris. Its also right next door to the Hertz car rental with parking directly outside. The hotel is clean with beds made and room cleaned each day. Fresh towels available as needed. Breakfast is basic but good and all that's needed to set you up for the day. A few minutes walk into the centre of beautiful Angoulême. This hotel is a gem.

I don’t think there is a lot of choice near the centre of Angouleme but this hotel proved to be adequate . We came by train and it is very near the station 60 Euro for a basic room for 2 is quite expensive but the staff responded well to e mails so I went for it The welcome on arrival wasn’t great. The rooms have been refurbished but they are quite small Breakfast at 8 Euro was better than I expected with nuts, dried and fresh fruit, cheese and ham and decent bread as well as yoghurts, pain au chocolat etc. The staff looked after our bags while we looked round town the next day. Not amazing but probably one of the better options in Angouleme

Unfortunately our car died on us on the RN just south of ANGOULEME. RAC were fabulous and recovered us and our dogs to Angouleme and then put us in Hotel Saint Antoine as they are a pet friendly hotel. Whilst we didn't intend to stay in Angouleme as we were on the way to Dieppe we did (eventually) consider ourselves very fortunate to be in this lovely hotel. The room was very spacious (which was much appreciated by two large Old English Sheepdogs) and immaculate. The breakfast room is a joy to sit in and the wood burner was very welcome. The centre is 20 minutes walk but very easy to find following the map provided by the hotel and well worth the effort. I would certainly recommend the hotel to all travellers, not just those travelling with pets.

The lady behind the desk was very helpful, she ordered our dinner that night, pizza, and even paid the small change extra that we didn't have, due to waiting a looooog time for our pizza she gave us complimentary water, couldn't fault her, the room was good, it had a bed and a bunkbed going across the top, the shower was hot and wet, but the shower curtain was that effective as the floor was soaking after a shower. Looks a bit drab from the outside but inside is much better with a modern look about it. Room was a decent size with a very good shower. Located right next to the old town so you can easily walk to the many bars and restaurants. There is secure parking on site but space is very limited so do need to book in advance. Staff were very helpful and gave good advice on best places to visit. Breakfast was typical for this priced hotel so unfair to compare it to a Mecure at double the price.

This is a very basic, no frills hotel. Reception were very friendly and helpful and check in was quick and efficient. There are public car parks nearby and this hotel is easy to find, which is essential in this very busy city. The traffic system is very chaotic so keep your wits about you. There are bars and restaurants near by If you require a more comfortable hotel, it might be worth you paying a little bit more.

Ideally located in the centre of the town, and very close to the mainline railway station, the Mercure Angoulême H?tel de France is set in the beauty of a 19th Century home. We stayed at the hotel for a few days whilst buying a new holiday home nearby. Really lovely hotel which must be delightful in the summer in the garden. Our room was really nice, immaculately presented with a family feel to the place given its petite hotel size.... we had dinner there one night as we also wanted to check out the area some nights. The food was exceptional, a chicken chorizo prawn dish with a gorgeous creamy mash...creme brûlée’s were lush......given the signed photos of international stars on the walls it’s popular with superstars of tv and film. A little gem of a place....

We booked this hotel for one night as we were breaking our journey north through France. We didn't pre-book parking (recommend you do this if possible, as parking in front of hotel is limited and expensive) - we ended up parking half a mile down the road. Room was adequate size as was bathroom. I would describe the hotel as shabby-chic, could do with a bit of freshening up in places. Hotel is within easy walking distance of main restaurant area in town. Breakfast was very good (fresh orange juice, fresh bread and croissants), but a bit chaotic as they ran out of various items (including bread) which they then had to top up belatedly. They also insisted on serving coffee rather than leaving a jug or machine out for -people to serve themselves - staff also seemed to be getting in each other's way and without separate and specific responsibilities. We raised this with the manager - it seems many guests staying had not pre-booked breakfast so they hadn't expected to cater for the number who turned up.

This was a convenient and efficient apartment located in a historic-facade building. The actual apartments are quite modern. The design was very efficient, even with a storage space over the door. It is a tiny kitchen, and, unfortunately, the pan and skillet size had not been measured so that two of them could both occupy the two burners comfortably, but we managed. There is no daily housekeeping service, and we had to request over our several day stay some supplies. One of the staff members was very nice but not entirely competent; he gave us a laundry tablet rather than a dishwashing tablet, which caused an overflow. (The dishwasher is the tiniest I've ever seen, lodged under the sink.) And he was not efficient at check-in or check-out, but he spoke English. There are outdoor courtyard spaces, and there's a self-service laundry with tokens available from the desk. A breakfast is available, but we did all of our cooking in our room. Convenient to walk to the paper museum across the street or the comic strip museum a bit farther on plus the lovely park by the river. It's uphill to the center of town for more museums and lots of restaurants (the Chinese was quite good). There is paid parking in the lot across the street (reserve in advance).

The hotel is located in the heart of Lyon, just a 5 minute walk from the central square and shopping streets. There are a variety of specialty shops in the shopping street, big-name luxury jewelry and ZARA, HM, etc., although not comparable to the Paris store, the goods are all, but the basic models are available to meet the basic shopping needs. The most acclaimed hotel is the breakfast, on the top floor of the hotel, with a view of the Rhone River through the floor-to-ceiling windows. The breakfast is extremely rich, because it is the holiday season, breakfast is delayed until 11 o'clock, you can rest assured that you can take a nap and slowly enjoy a fine brunch.

Italy was passing by the stop city back to Paris. It did n’t have much hope. The comments at night were good and bad, as long as they could live, but it was really good! Clean and spacious, booked a room with a living room, booking information is for three people, the sofa bed in the living room was opened and paved at the time of check-in, the balcony is also a large balcony connecting the living room to the bedroom, it is nice to have a kitchenette, walking near the hotel There is a slightly bigger Carrefour in 5 minutes. In the morning, my husband and the child did n’t get up to buy some juice, milk, bread, salad, etc. After all, it ’s not cheap to eat outside. It was learned that Lyon’s old town was very difficult to park, and it was specifically designed as a landmark hotel in the new city. This hotel can be seen from afar, but it is not easy to find the hotel entrance and parking lot by car. Because the nearby road is under construction, it took three laps to find the hotel's small entrance. The parking lot is large, 25 euros a day. The hotel lobby is on the 32nd floor and the room is above the 33rd floor. The view is good and has its own characteristics. The room is small, it is fan-shaped, and two adults with a child sleep very crowded. The sanitation is very good, quiet, carpeted, not ventilated, the shower floor is a bit slippery, there is no place to dry clothes. The hotel has a restaurant, dinner is good, service is good. There is no bustling old town nearby, and there is a large public car park next to the food city not far from the hotel.

We were looking for a good hotel which would serve as our stopover as we were driving to the South of France. We booked a night stay in this beautiful InterContinental Hotel. We arrived around noon and by accident drove directly to the hotel's garage. It was unclear if there was valet or if we could self park our car. As we did not get in to the garage, we were stuck there as the bell in the garage was rather complicated. We phoned the front desk and quickly someone helped park our car. The bellboy took our luggage and escorted us to the reception. We were quickly checked in and received a very nice upgrade to one of the beautiful Executive Duplex rooms with views over the river. The hotel itself is huge and is simply beautiful. There are many restaurants and shops in the premises and is located in the heart of Lyon, everything can be done by foot. Our room was very large and had a cosy seating area on the top level. Downstairs, there was a very comfortable bed and the bathroom with large walk in shower. The window in the room was floor to ceiling but probably hard to clean as there were some cobwebs on it. Staff were very helpful with a city map and recommending sights and restaurants nearby. Within walking distance, there are many good places to eat and shopping streets are very closeby.

The location of the hotel is really good. Downstairs is Sephora opposite Paris Spring, and then White Apple Square, but the hotel rooms are really too small, and then there is no bathtub. The hotel I booked was very expensive because at the time It ’s the Lyon Festival of Lights, so it ’s very expensive. It ’s usually not that expensive. If you judge this hotel by its value, it ’s not worth it. I think its value should be around 1,000 yuan. Simple is rude, because breakfast is not so good, but there are few juices that are not freshly squeezed for tea, and you have to make your own tea in bags. The hotel does not have any service at the front desk to check in, and it is not very fast, but it is generally okay. It is not worth 1,000 yuan or more for 1,000 yuan, thank you!

The room is not big, but each double bed is 1.5 meters wide. It is no problem for two people to sleep on the same bed. It is a good news for families with children. The room is very clean. This is a five-star hotel in a classic style, converted from an old building. Definitely not the kind of hotel used in China. In the center of the old town of Lyon, there are various stores on the doorstep, and a stylish chocolate shop diagonally opposite, and the famous Rose Tower attractions across the alley next to the hotel. The interior decoration of the hotel is also old-fashioned, the door is opened with a key and no card is needed. The room was beautiful and welcoming, the toilet and shower room were separated. There is also a spa on the top floor. We went to live in Lyon on the day of the annual Lyon Festival of Lights, and on the weekend, the room price doubled several times than usual. It's easy to miss without paying attention. If the usual price to live is definitely possible. Holidays are definitely expensive. It is very convenient to visit and live in the old town.
