2.12km from Eat N Wash By The Shrimp ManWe stayed there in Mid August as we were seeing a concert at the Orlando Amphitheater just down the road (an easy walk). Let me start by saying that this place just reopened as a Quality Inn. Before the renovation I can see that this place was a true dump. If you can find some archived pics on the internet you'll see what I mean. With what they started with, they're doing a pretty good job. The renovations are ongoing and not complete yet. The room had a mix of old and new furniture and were a little sparse. We had a suite and the place where the TV was (in front of the couch) seemed like it wanted a piece of furniture under it. The beds themselves are all new and the bedding quality was nice. The air blew super cold. That was a plus for sure. The parking lot was freshly sealed and lined. The pool looks like it was just resurfaced and all the furniture was new. The pool is nice and deep. It must be 8 1/2 feet at the deep end. There are a couple of covered areas to get out of the sun. We had a swim and a couple of beers there before the show. That really hit the spot. The landscaping isn't done yet and the guy redoing the stuff around the pool was making great progress (and was friendly). The staff seemed a bit inexperienced but were all friendly and eager to help with whatever we needed. The manager obviously has a lot of experience and we noticed her constantly making things right. Little things like ensuring there were enough pool towels out, making sure breakfast was right, etc. She'll have that crew in broken in in no time, I bet. Breakfast was pretty good for what it was, especially because they really don't have a full kitchen. You can make waffles, fill up a plate with sausage or eat a few of those little round pancakes. Wait, those aren't pancakes, they're little egg patties :) They may have opened it a bit earlier than they should but pretty soon it'll be running on all cylinders. If I ever get to another show in the area I'll surely visit them again: A: because it was a pretty good experience and B: to see how good it is once they get through their growing pains.
