Very close to the airport, 5 minutes by car. The room size is moderate and the equipment is simple. The toilet is quite old. However, the staff is very capable and will advise you what time you should leave if you take a plane, and will also call a car for you. (About 8 euros to the airport)

We checked into 'The Welbeck Hotel' and were shown to our room across the road in another building. It was shabby, dated and just about functional. Rather than a hotel this is just a collection of rooms across several buildings. There are no staff except in the reception - I suspect the only other people who enter here are the ones who 'clean the rooms' - some re-training needed here - poor job! It seems that nothing has been done to bring this place up to spec for a very long time.

This place has become my home away from home. I’ve stayed a few times now and always get wonderful service and a clean room with fresh sheets, for such good prices. The manager Ronnie is just an angel. She’s so friendly and helpful and goes above and beyond. There’s plenty of parking and lots to do in the local area. Westcliff beach, Adventure Island and town are all walking distance. It’s a great place to come to with friends and family.

I booked this hotel after finding them on another hotels searching website. I figured that £80 for a family room with a bed each for the kids and a double for me and das wife was a good deal even if Hannibal Lecter ended up being the manager. From walking in to the hotel for the first time through the INCREDIBLY heavy front door I felt that this place would be an experience.... just didn't know good or bad. The lady who greeted us was friendly and efficient and not Hannibal Lecter; made us feel welcome. Our room was on the first floor so we wouldn't need the lift which wasn't working due to the high winds at the time. (The shaft head catches the wind - common issue on the coast). The room was lovely and clean, and the bathroom was exceptionally clean!!! The attached bedroom was also lovely and clean and came with a free sock!! BONUS!! The tea and coffee making facilities were WAAAAAAAY above average and had a decent kettle. Both the rooms had TVs - WHICH WE'LL COME BACK TO - and there was a desk phone, and a mobile phone charger. Which might have been left behind by someone..... but who cares. There were two chairs in the room, and the red one made farting noises whenever it was sat in. The shower is brilliant and the bath is big enough to fit a rotund chap like me. And they provide adequate soapy stuff. The veiw from one of the windows was a pretty good veiw of the waterway; the veiw from the other was a fantastic veiw of the DAIKIN COOLMAX INVERTER B410A air conditioner! And if you are as much of a fan of AC units as I am you know its a true bonus! The breakfast was also above average. There was ample on street parking but the lighting isn't as good as it could be. But as we all know these things don't knock down ratings because they are carracter.....its the details that do that! And annoyingly its details that are so easily fixed. The very clean adjoining room that came with the free sock also had a couple of bed side shelves, one moved a lot and so did the lightswitch next to it. The bathroom had a knob that came off. The TV in the adult room was an ancient Samsung at least 10 years old; which from the moment it was turned on froze and turned off every 6 to 7 minutes!!!! YOU CAN NOT NETFLIX AND CHILL WITHOUT NETFLIX!!!! Ordinarily this would have been a call to reception asking for a new room but the kids were already asleep. So my intention to watch Special Victims Unit was dashed at the last minute! And to add insult to inury the TV in the room the kids were sleeping in was a fairly new completely functional one!!! Joking aside, you can't sit and chill out with a non functioning TV! You pay for something you expect to get it. At the end of our corridor there is a door which makes an annoying squeek..... EVERYTIME THE DOOR OPENS. MUST TRY HARDER!!!!

Upon arrival my husband waited outside while I ran in to check in and find out about the free parking area. The gentlemen told us where to go and he met us there and guided us back through the hotel. Check in was quick and easy and we were in our room in a matter of minutes. The room itself was incredibly spacious and very clean. We were only in the room for a few hours before we headed off to the Cliffs Pavillion to watch Jimmy Carr which was a short walk of 7 minutes! We then returned just gone midnight and had the best night sleep I've had in a while. The following morning we got up and headed downstairs for breakfast which was a buffet. You had a choice of the typical full English, Cereal, Fruit, Toast and Jam/Butter. If you wanted your eggs cooked a certain way you just asked your waiter who would get the kitchen to cook however you wanted. Would definitely reccomend this hotel. I will definitely be coming back soon.

We last stayed here nearly seven years ago (see earlier review), which was shortly after the current owners had taken over this guesthouse. In that time, the accommodation has all been modernised and expanded into the property next door. This has clearly taken a lot of hard work and investment, and has been carried out to an extremely high standard. We stayed in Room 3, which was large and comfortable, and affords a splendid view over the water and, off to the left, the pier (this being winter, the bare trees hardly obscured the view). Some things are unchanged. The full-English breakfast, comprising some quality locally sourced ingredients (the dry-cured bacon was my personal favourite), still assuages hunger for about two days. All the personnel we met were friendly and professional. The position is of course still great for the Cliffs Pavilion, the Town Centre, many attractions and rail station. We found parking to be very easy, but in high season it may be harder to find a space. This standard of accommodation, in this location, at this price is likely to be very hard to beat.

Dear reader My husband has been working in southend for the last 4-5month’s and we have been staying at this gem of a hotel on and off during that period and we have nothing but praise. I normally don’t make any effort to write reviews but when you stay for long periods of time you get a real feel for a place and how consistent it’s service truly is. The location is excellent, fabulous views over the estuary and what a sunset! Great walks along the classy seafront. But it’s the hotel and people that run it that deserve our praise. The owners are professional, warm, friendly and genuine people and take great pride in their fabulous hotel. The hotel is modern, beautifully appointed and spotless thanks to the cleaning team who are always there with a smile if you need any extras in your room or are running late when you come back to your room it’s spotless. Hotel reception. David deserves a mention. Alway a smile and never to much trouble to go the extra mile, all in a relaxed friendly and professional manner. Josie and Johnathon are The double act at breakfast, helpful always polite funny witty and nothing is too much trouble, a wealth of entertainment awaits you here! and the breakfast is great too, as is the consistency of all the food We love staying here. And cannot recommend it highly enough.

Sept 10th 2020 Although we had an email to say that we were in the Lady H room -our most lovely landlady upgraded us and we were offered the NELSON Room -albeit on the top floor but in all honesty worth every bit of extra "puff" as we climbed to stairs to get the most fantastic view over the pier and beach area. The room was super with those extra little things that visitors really appreciate when travelling ,living out of a suitcase -spending just one night at each place -and WE really do both LOVE TOBERLERONE ! Plus it had the best array of toiletries we have ever seen ! When I asked our fabulous hostess very readily provided us with ice and glasses for that all important G & T at the end of the travel day and pre going out for dinner which we did discuss and we were so pleased that in choosing PADRINOS we had chosen very well as it was no 1 recommendation on the list of our hostess. Also in addition we were able to get our ice pack frozen overnight ensuring plenty of cool drinks the following day . And last but not least like every other experience here ,BREAKFAST was exceptionally good ! Hot tasty ,freshly cooked and needless to say very much appreciated pre our onward journey .We can but THOROUGHLY RECOMMEND HAMILTON`s feeling assured that you will not be disappointed in any way at all . THANK YOU for making our stay in Southend oh so enjoyable and memorable !! Mike & Jan

This staff here are excellent. They are friendly, communicative and very professional but unfortunately they are struggling to cope during these difficult times. The room was everything you would expect from a Premier Inn. We did, however, struggle slightly accessing the shower. The bottom of the bath was considerably higher than the bathroom floor so getting in and out wasn’t easy without holding on to the towel rail, which it’s not designed for. Our main disappointment was the on-site Brewers Fare Restaurant. We stayed for three nights and ate in the restaurant every night. We had pre-booked breakfast and booked our evening meal on a daily basis. Without fail, there were significant shortages on the menu every night, and Sunday evening was not acceptable despite the considerable efforts of the only waitress working. It would be unfair on the staff to relate all our complaints as they are clearly doing their best. Over the three nights we received numerous apologies from the staff and clearly they are under stress from the lack of support. They were genuinely and visibly upset by what was happening. They were the ones having to face the unhappy customers through no fault of there own. It would be unfair to list all of our complaints and overall we enjoyed our stay, but clearly the management need to support the restaurant staff, starting with ensuring enough are used. Witnessing one waitress struggling and being so apologetic is not a comfortable experience.

We haven't stayed in a guesthouse before to be honest. We have always been a little weary. Especially with my wife being asthmatic. But how things have changed our minds with Beeches!! We were lucky to get a last minute cancellation. Daryl the owner took our booking and detail over phone and he was so professional in his booking it made us immediately feel at ease with Covid. We arrived and we were given a thoroughly warm and enthusiastic welcome by his wife. Again went through the rules and we went to our room a Deluxe King Sea View....absolutely spotless! Sanitised tv remote in a throw away bag! Towels, sheets etc all washed on 90! Honestly this place is excellent and we cant wait to return! In fact sod it im going book us in again right now! Hope to try the cooked breaskfast as soon as the covid thing is easier! Love it!!!! Stu and Becky

We stayed at the Southend inn hotel for 2 nights. The owner, Stephan, was very welcoming and friendly. Shower was brilliant, really hot water. Room was clean. We had a fantastic stay in Southend, the room was just our place to sleep, there are so many places to get breakfast and lunch and dinner. I was glad I found availability at this time of year. It’s location was a 2 minute walk down the hill to the beach, which was not crowded like central Southend. We would go back here again. There is a Premier quick stop around the corner and plenty of takeaways. This is not a five star hotel, it doesn’t claim to be, but it had a lovely nostalgic feel to me of being by the sea in a simple, clean and friendly inn.

We stayed at the Hampton by Hilton for the Scottish Oct week. It was very clean, I was apprehensive of how hotels were during Covid-19 and had read a lot of reviews for where to stay in Blackpool based on since when COVID-19 started and the Hampton by Hilton got some of the best reviews and it far surpassed my expectations. From check in the place was very clean, all staff were wearing masks, they explained that daily cleaning service had been suspended but if you wanted your room cleaned that day you just needed to say, or if you needed new towels or toilet roll they could give it to you at reception, which is great as it limits human interaction. Dinner: we ended up eating dinner there three of the four nights as I found a lot of places were crowded whilst they had us well spread out and ensured ppl had masks on whilst moving around. The food was nice if a small menu, the staff were great very friendly and helpful. Room: we stayed in room 304 and it is at the back of the hotel partially overlooking the carpark and partial sea view, it was two king sized beds which were really comfortable and we slept well, it had lots of charging points which in this day of electronics was great. I think it could benefit from a wee shelf on the side nearest the window as there was a table on my side and on the other side of the other bed. It has a heating and cooling system and a good shower but doesn’t have a hairdryer in the room so remember to take your own. Breakfast: was well organised and really tasty. There was a great selection of both hot and cold items, coffee and tea there was even chocolate or strawberry milk for the children. The staff were very vigilant and challenged a couple of lads who had come down to breakfast without masks or lanyards to say they didn’t need to for medical reasons, they came back down with masks. Location: the tram station is across the road but it is easily walkable to get to both the south and central pier, pleasurebeach is about a five minute walk whilst the south pier is maybe about ten minutes depending on if the wind is hitting you. There is also lots of hand gel located throughout the hotel which was good. Overall if I was coming back to Blackpool I’d definitely recommend/stay at this hotel again, the staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms were immaculate and well thought out, it was a good location and breakfast was tasty. Thank you for making our family stay enjoyable, my daughter had never been to Blackpool and I hadn’t been since I was three which wasn’t yesterday!

I booked online to stay at the Las Palmas hotel for 3 nights. I then received a phone call about an hour later informing me they had to close the hotel for ‘technical issues’ however they would put us in their sister hotel The Royal Windsor instead which was like for like. When we arrived to the location it was nothing like the pictures I had seen for Las Palmas and certainly was nothing ‘Royal’ about it. We checked in and found out there was an additional £10 per night for the dog and an additional £5 a night for car parking. I had seen online about paying extra for pets however not for parking. Anyway I paid this and the full amount for the room for 3 nights. We did not get to park our car in the car park that night as it was full so we had to park elsewhere even though we had paid. Our hotel room was tiny. The lights were flickering and everywhere smelt of cigarettes and smoking from the rooms.Myself and my husband hardly slept a wink due to the amount of noise from downstairs ‘entertainment’ and the noise, arguing, shouting, banging etc from guests. Again we wasn’t informed of entertainment in the hotel when we was changed over. The next day I spoke to a lady on reception and complained and explained we wanted to leave and didn’t want to stay there. Miraculously Las Palmas hotel was then avaible and they would move us over to there as they didn’t have many guests or any entertainment etc so would be a lot quieter and more suited to us. We arrived, the lady on reception was absolutely lovely and even let me choose between 2 rooms. The hotel itself was a lot nicer, the room was a bit bigger so we were happy. However the noise again kept us up until gone 2am. I went and spoke to the same lady on the desk in the morning and said we where leaving to go home and not staying for our third night as we were knackered and I am 3 months pregnant so I need to rest and sleep. Again she was lovely and very uunderstandable and gave me the telephone number to speak with the manager. I later phoned and spoke with the manager who was VERY rude and questioned everything I said and said I should of done something about it at 2am in the morning. I explained I didn’t fancy going downstairs at 2am in my Pj’s etc but I did take recordings of the noise which I would happily email across. I said I Would at least like my money back for the car park that we had not used the first night and for the third night I had paid for staying but we was not then using... he consistently said this isn’t something they do. Refund. I asked why we had been moved to the royal Windsor in the first place after booking online and he couldn’t give me an answer for this also. The ‘manager’ then hung up the phone on me twice. Not very professional. I asked to speak to someone higher or who owned the hotel in order to sort this but the ‘manager’ would not give me any details or tell me anyone I could speak with in regards to this as he is the one who deals with everything and he doesn’t give

This is a tremendous place to stay if you want to enjoy Blackpool. Number One is located on South Beach close to where the illuminations start. This means being an easy walk from the tram stop that gives easy access to the whole of Blackpool (for a £5 a day hop on hop off ticket). The trams run back until around midnight. A taxi to the Tower is about £7.50 if you prefer. And if you want to walk this is just as easy and completely free... There are dedicated parking spaces and plenty of on road free spaces that are free and safe. Number one has a tremendous welcome - the two girls that greet you, escort you personally to your room to go through the facilities and look after you at the well stocked bar are friendly, happy and helpful. The help, generosity and welcome is extended by Mark who was able to provide first class recommendations for restaurants and shows (we took up the recommendation to see Kinky Boots which was exceptional) and he was kind enough to provide a discount code for the Winter Garden. What strikes you when visiting is the quality of the decor, fixtures and furniture throughout Number One. The owners take great pride in their property and it shows. It’s modern, funky, clean and bright. The rooms are all well appointed, clean and well maintained. We had number 12 on the third floor. This is serviced by a lift or staircase. The sea view is good and the room boasts tv, whirlpool bath, shower, remotes for lighting, small balcony, seating area and comfy bed. The box of nick nacks that could be little essentials in the wardrobe is a super touch. The bar area is a generous social area and the range of drinks wide and various. Service is until 11:00pm after which time and honesty bar works if you want a night cap or longer chatting. Breakfast selections are made the evening before to save wastefulness and works really well. It’s a wide menu along with a buffet for fruit, cereals etc. The quality of what Mark cooks is exceptional. The fresh orange is a must. It can be cold in Blackpool but Number 1 can be really hot... Number 1 is a credit to the owners and staff. An award winner. And one of our favourites from our travels - no mean feat.

Stayed for 1 night before the Rebellion Festival in town and wished i'd have booked for all 5 nights. A nice welcome by the friendly Reg and the owner Louise. They recommended a local bar for a decent pint of ale(The Brew Room). A nice comfortable bed made for a good nights sleep, i enjoyed the breakfast, Reg had made a special effort to make sure i had decaf coffee with breakfast which was much appreciated. I will probably be attending the festival again in 2 years time and would not hesitate to book here again.

I stayed here and you certainly get what you pay for. Room was basic but clean and all you needed to rest your head for a night. I unfortunately left my headphones at the hotel and was distraught when I found out as I live 3 hours away, however the manager was more than accommodating and sent them back via an envelope I sent them and I could not be more thankful. It may not seem like a lot, but my headphones are needed for my everyday so when they arrived back safely I was overjoyed. Nothing is too much for the manager, really nice and would recommend staying again! Thank you so so much.

My partner and I made a last minute decision to stay in and booked the Ruskin Hotel and we are so glad we did. We were both overwhelmed with how lovely the staff were and could not be happier with our stay. I am not usually one to write reviews but I just cannot believe the level of service at the Ruskin and want more people to know about the Ruskin so they can enjoy it like we did! Within our first day we felt part of a community and we really were so well looked after. We went all inclusive and I wouldn’t do it any other way when we go back. You get breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as soft drinks, hot drinks and selected alcoholic drinks. The food was incredible which given the price we was really surprised about. Although the alcoholic drinks are only certain drinks it covers your regular spirits, red/white/rose and an in-house larger that my partner said was really nice so you won’t go without. The room we stayed in was the king premier room and it was ideal for our 4 night stay. Modern, very spacious, comfortable and clean. There was also nightly entertainment. Singing, bingo, and even an in-house comedian who was brilliant! Despite all the staff being amazing we would like to give a special mention to Lesley and Gary in the bar to the right of reception And Enzo, the catering Manager. Lesley, was the most welcoming, kind natured woman I have ever had the pleasure of meeting whilst in a hospitality capacity. Lesley was always making sure we had food and drink flowing as well as showing a genuine interest to my partner and I. Gary, was very much the same. Extremely welcoming and attentive. We later found out from another staff member that Gary was the director of the hotel which really shocked us given how hands on and helpful he is. That is not to say that hotel directors aren’t usually lovely people, but you don’t usually see them so involved and so interested in their residents. And finally the lovely Enzo, from the moment we had our first meal Enzo was attentive and regularly checking in to make sure we were happy with the food and the service. Really lovely man who works very hard to ensure all guests are happy with their dining experience. Would highly recommend to all age groups! My partner and I are mid twenties but there were guests ranging from children to 80’s and all were equally enjoying themselves.

Fantastic stay here at Premier Blackpool Beach. My wife and I arrived early in Blackpool with intention to enjoy the rest of the day while our rooms were got ready. Ben logged our car as being in the company’s carpark and off we went. We arrived back at 3pm and again the ever efficient Ben checked us in and offered to book our meals up at the nearby Brewers fayre. He was helpful throughout our 2 night stay. Premiers South is a steady 15mins walk to the front, we could see the tower from the premiers carpark. The room was very clean and I do find the standard a cut above its near brand competitors. Bathroom look recently refurbished. Smart TV good quality with WIFI but if you plug in your Fire- stick you have to upgrade the free Wi-Fi to Ultimate, which is extra. We had a meal at the brewer’s next door. It was “OK”….. I suppose on par with what I paid. Staff are the best part as service was very good. Blackpool Illuminations were something else as was the famous Blackpool Tower. We would due to the friendly staff, stay here again at a drop to enjoy this fantastic English seaside town. It was very busy in the town, but we managed to steer clear of hot spots in these trying times and with precautions in place thoroughly enjoy ourselves. I understand Premier is redeveloping an Art deco building in the town centre, I will be watching out for that to try!
