0.24km from Embassy of the PhilippinesWe initially stayed for a few days at another lovely place we'd chosen before leaving NZ. However for a more intimate experience, for even better value, for the gem that others described, we chose the charming, boutique Ladybug when we retuned to Hanoi and ended up staying on two occasions with Hanoi as our base. We noticed it tucked down a little alley we passed on walk to our original hotel and thought it looked cute and worth looking into. We agreed with every positive review we read. And would unhesitatingly chose french quarter over noisier old quarter. The latter is an easy walk or cheap, cheap taxi ride away from Ladybug. In addition to everything else that makes Ladybug fabulous e.g. the bathrooms, decor, comfortable beds; one evening I asked for poached eggs instead of the sunnyside option. My request was not on the menu, despite all sort of other lovely options and I felt I was unwittingly putting them to too much trouble. I was unsure what I was asking for had been understood and asked them not to worry. Well next morning breakfast seemed to take slightly longer... not much mind... the delay, for which our lovely host apologised profusely, was due to the fact that the eggs were poached perfectly and in hollowed out toast. Very artistic and delicious. Eggceptional. I was embarrassed and touched that the lady had gone to so much effort and apparently this was her first time making them! They were a masterpiece and caused a bit of a shared laugh as these were not ordinary poached eggs. The staff really were great. The young guy's English is particularly good and they were all so friendly we would absolutely stay there again on our next visit to Hanoi. Thank you everyone at the Ladybug.
