As usual for Premier Inn we had a great nights stay, very quiet and comfortable and everything worked, room very clean as ususal. Parking tip for weekend - canterbury college just round the corner is £3 for parking all weekend. Very cheap, secure and convienient for the Premier Inn (you don't need a car in Canterbury city centre)

The breakfast was plentiful, the staff was very nice, very friendly, and I was very impressed. It was raining heavily that day, and we warmly greeted us to rest in the dining area and help to look after the luggage.

We stayed here at the end of August for a last minute break before going back to school and it was just lovely. Canterbury is such a beautiful city to explore and the location of the Black Horse is nicely tucked away down a quiet road yet just a few minutes walk to the busy and bustling centre and there’s a beautiful park nearby with gorgeous countryside walks and views. Yolanda was an incredibly helpful host, friendly and very welcoming. She even went out especially and got vegan milk and butter for my breakfast, which was tasty and set us up for the day as there’s plenty of choice. There were good COVID guidelines in place and we felt safe staying here. There’s a beautiful well kept garden which the guests can use and we had a lovely quiet room overlooking it, we also had a fridge which was a bonus! The accommodation was very comfortable and clean and we really enjoyed our time exploring Canterbury and the coastal areas of Kent. Our only negative about staying here was the parking charges but don’t be put off by it! We found some free parking bays just down the road in Queens Avenue and the residential roads are free after a certain time in the afternoon. It’s certainly good value for money accommodation and an ideal location, I’m happy to recommend!

My partner and I stay in Canterbury regularly and have never settled on one hotel as we like the variety. Not anymore. We have found the one. We booked The Victoria Hotel for a night as a get away from the kids and as it was my birthday. We were met at the door by staff who were very helpful and welcomed us immediately. The lady at reception was extremely friendly and helpful and went through the process with us to ensure we knew what we were doing, we went up to the room which was crisp, spacious and clean, the tea and coffee making facilities ( a big deal for my wife) were more than up to scratch with hot chocolate and biscuits aplenty, satisfied that she had her hot beverage quota we headed into Canterbury for a touch of shopping and a nose round...... when we returned we decided to give the restaurant a look in, I am so glad we did! Having worked in the pub trade I know the difference between lack over service, overkill service and the just right service and these ladies have got it spot on Welcome and looked after. Attended to but given space. Exactly what we needed being as we rarely get a meal with uninterrupted conversation due to children, but wanted to feel looked after. Our starters came out promptly and looked great, the salad was fresh, a generous helping of prawns for the Mrs and I had plenty of pate and chutney to be getting on with, our plates were cleared in good time and we had just the right breather before our mains came out. The mains were beautiful, again a crisp fresh salad good portion sizes, my wife’s cod was just the right size and cooked close to perfection, I had the cajun chicken breast with salad and jacket, again looked and tasted great, I would like to congratulate the kitchen team for the chips. Sounds trivial I know but it really is so important and so nice to see that they had been cooked in CLEAN FRESH OIL!!! It shows. Straight away. Cleaning a fryer is a dirty job and oil is expensive so a lot of kitchens filter and change their oil as rarely as they can. Too the cost of the food. Thank you for getting it right. My wife’s chips were golden crisp and delicious. Having worked in the industry myself for many years both out front and in the kitchen I have a good eye for a shift that is under control and a team that knows what it is doing and this was certainly the atmosphere, All of the waiting team were courteous and efficient but I would particularly like to mention Christine. She was humorous and relaxing, very relatable and cheerful, in fact when my wife’s ear started to hurt just after our meal she found us some paracetamol which was that little touch above and beyond. We had already met Christine as she was one of the staff at the door when we arrived and had already made us laugh in the way she was assisting a guest. She was also there at breakfast and despite the fact she must have been doing back to back long days she was still chirpy friendly and amazing. A gre

My first trip to Canterbury was everything I've I've could ever have wished for and much more. We came to celebrate my 50th birthday and was received with a box of chocolate and a bottle of bubbles in an ice bucket. How fabulous and extremely considered is that? The incredibly comfortable 4 poster Mahogany bed, chandeliers galore in a super spacious and uber stylish room, with a modern and very sophisticated in suite was the cherry on a very delicious birthday cake. Lisa is too adorable for words, her incredible cooked English breakfast of scrambled eggs was served in heart shape mould. Very 5 stars Waldorf Astoria standards if you ask me!

On a fleeting visit to Canterbury, this family run establishment's location drew my attention, reinforced by the modest tarif. Thanks to the railway service I did not arrive at the planned time, but a short phone call modified this without complication. I had a pleasant single bedroom on the first floor, which offered all the facilities I wanted. The cat on the stairs outside my door was a homely touch, but I doubt that this could be guaranteed. I slept well. Breakfast was cooked to order, and arrived swiftly.
