The location of this hotel is fairly close to Plaza Mayor, which is a definite plus, but it is also in the middle of a VERY lively bar / club area. This means that it is very noisy outside well into the night. We stayed near the end of Pride week, so that might have contributed to the party atmosphere. I was able to sleep OK, but my wife had issues with the noise. There are wooden shutters that can be closed to help. We needed to leave early for the airport, so this was a negative for us, otherwise, seems like it could be a really fun place to stay. I never asked, but it would be helpful for the hotel to supply ear plugs. The staf are very freindly and helpful. The WiFi was AWFUL. The only location I could get a reliable signal was in the entry way. We were in a family room on the 2nd floor. This will really depend on which room you get. I had good experience with the WiFi at the reception desk. The familiy room is well sized, with a large queen bed and bunk beds for the kids. Very comfortable.

Great location, very nice breakfast, there is also a Starbucks right outside the enterance which is nice. Literally a two minute walk to Gran Via street where you can find anything you could possibly need. The staff was polite, the rooms were clean and very quiet at least on the 5th floor :) Overall would recommend and come back again. Gracias Madrid!

I had stayed at the hotel before and had a good experience. When I checked in on 1 October the gentleman on the reception desk was very helpful and friendly; however, I did not know there was a very loud discoteca RIGHT below my room until i retired for the night. No one at the hotel mentioned it and I had no reason to expect it given my previous stay at the hotel. When I raised my concern to the woman on the reception desk the following morning she initially told me that I should have let them know and the would have asked the long line to get in the discoteca (who were very loud until 6;00 in the morning) to be quieter (I had very little sleep that night). That was not the response I was looking for. There is no way the raucous and signing crowd (mostly waiting in line) would have quieted down. It should be disclosed to the clients just how loud and how bright the lights are in room 102. Aa.fter expressing my concern, she told me that I would receive a discount for the night, and the manager would reach out to me via email to discuss my comcerns and how to improve for the next visit. it has now been a week and I have not received any credit to my account, and no ome has reached out to me as promised. I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone who may visit Madrid. If the reviews of hotel clients are truly important as the hotel states in their request for a review, they would follow up as promised.

To give a review of Casa Chueca as a guest I would need to explain that it was the last lodging–the 33rd to be exact– after a 40 day challenging Camino DeSantiago and I wanted to spend 4 days in Madrid before returning to my country. I would also have to explain that my plan to do the Camino was all about the beginning and doing it–could i do it?–and I didn’t have a plan for after I did ie how to complete my trip and get home. As a result I found myself exhausted on a train to Madrid trying to find a place where I could stay for four days beginning on a Saturday night. After many phone call inquiries all I had was a good understanding of what it means when they say the word “completa”–complete, full, nothing available. So when my last phone call was answered and after I explain my problem to the person on the other end of the phone and he says, “I am full for tonight but I’m going to find you a place to stay and you can come stay here tomorrow night for the balance of your trip.” My being felt a relief like the fresh cool breeze on that hot sweaty afternoon. So this is how I base my review of Casa Chueca. It all starts with the host and that is Mario and after 12 years working for somebody else he now runs a wonderful boutique hostel that I would give an A+. It is safe. It is clean. It is comfortable. It has amenities that made a difference to me – a small refrigerator, a hot water pot with herbal and caffeinated choices, a spotless toilet and shower room, an innovative use of hardware to dry washables, enough plastic hangers to dry them, a help yourself cabinet, a good quality of air and a simple pleasant unimposing decorative style that felt more like ‘casa’ then corporate. I did not know Chueca and came to discover it is like the West Village used to be in NYC —with great finds. The only open 24 hr Church (St Anton) in Madrid is nearby as is the best tortilla I had in Spain at El Bujo and arguably the best natural food store–Casa Terra. As I discovered, the centrality of Casa Chueca’s location is excellent. I could go to the Prado and the other museums with a 15 minute walk and when I left it was a 25 minute taxi to the airport. Comments made by others in review are noteworthy: It is true that finding the front door of the building was puzzling until i realized there was a sign that was above me–higher than most–“ultreia” i say to pilgrim visitors. There is not an elevator. For me and my 30 pound backpack it was just one more hill on the Camino. And as for the snarky remark that the owner does not live in Casa Chueca, I would say, ‘I didn’t know this until i needed towels and with a call and five minutes time, I had them. As for any comment about noise I can only ask ‘have you lived in a city before?’ and ‘have you spent any time in old parts of European cities?’ If you have then you know the routine and that the deep narrow canyon calles echo all sounds of life. I would end this review as I started by highlighting the person res

Superb location, if you are a moderate walker you can walk to just about everywhere. Lots and lots of restaurants (all prices range) within 200m radius (some 24h open). Can be an extra bed, we are 8 years old and there is no extra bed fee. But this time the hygiene is not good. On the day of the check-in, the bathtub in the room was all sand and stone. It was not cleaned. Waiting for the waiter to open the night bed, I asked for cleaning. In the evening, I went to the small garden to rest, and I ordered a glass of champagne. The waiter actually used a glass of water-filled glass (estimated to be washed and not dried) and poured champagne directly to me, hehe! The next day, the children will sleep more than 7 o'clock in the afternoon. As a result, the children's bed and the quilt are inexplicably wet. Later I went to the front desk and asked them to make better bedding. Very hurt. In such a good location, the rest of the hotel is very good, it is a sanitary situation, it is unacceptable.

We stayed at the H10 Hotel Puerta de Alcalá at the end of May and middle of June. The hotel was very comfortable and well located. We particularly enjoyed the rooftop deck with great views of Madrid and Retiro Park. The rooms were very comfortable, quiet, and clean. On a day trip I mistakenly left my camera bag in a taxi. On my return to the hotel later that day, Juan C. at reception helped me begin communications with the taxi company to try to locate the camera bag. For the next few weeks after I had returned home to Canada, Juan diligently followed up and coordinated with the taxi company, organized payment for retrieval of the camera bag then prepared it for shipment to my home in Canada. He went above and beyond the usual service expected at a hotel and I wanted to point out his excellent assistance. Robert S.

It's an easy walk to the Royal Palace, the Plaza de Espana subway stop is directly across the street, lots of restaurants close by, easy walk to Puerta del Sol, excellent dinner in the restaurant. large rooms. An extremely well run operation that should be the model for others in it's class.

The hotel has the potential to get 4 or even 5 stars reviews, but on this occasion, I had to rate only 3 stars due to the following: I have done the check-in online and requested 2 extra pillows in the room. Once I got to the reception had to do the check-in all again. The keys weren’t ready as they say on their website when you do the check-in online. Customer requests weren’t available (extra pillows). The temperature of the shower keeps going from hot to cold to boiling, which was quite annoying. Everything else was okay. The room isn’t big, but it is okay for a couple of days. The air conditioning was working fine. Breakfast is ok. The room is very quiet, which is good. The hotel has easy access from the metro station.

The staff was very helpful and when our flight got postponed tried to do their best with finding a solution for us for the day. We stayed in 2 different types of apartments. A 2 bedroom and a studio. The studio experience was much better. There was a french balcony to the main street which we could open for air. The 2 bedroom apartment was slightly stfiling and the windows could not be opened. The shower room is quite small. Each apartment has a small kitchen and a washer. It is all very basic but definitley enough for just a stay and it is worth the price.

ROOMS : very spacious, separate bath, shower, toilet, 2 wash basins, microwave BREAKFAST : fresh orange juice for every table, good range of pastries, bread, meats, eggs, - very good OUTDOOR POOL : 13.5m diameter, good for swimming, ~180cm deep everywhere so not really child friendly, sun blocked after about 6pm, open strictly 10.30am to 8.30pm, plenty of towels and loungers GYM: best you will ever see in a hotel, looks like it was once a thriving sports club with turnstiles but Covid probably killed it - now 4 rooms of every machine you could ever want. Indoor pools were drained - maybe they will be refilled in the autumn when the outside pool closes RESTAURANTS : Taberna La Illustracion is a 10-15 minute walk - run by mother an daughter - delicious food at a great price (€40 for 4 drinks and salad starter + main). This review is for 60 balconies iconic. So, a surprise for me, after reserving on booking.com, is that this is an apart hotel. Positives - the location is AMAZING and the room (we had an appt for 3 people) was EXCELLENT . Staff were very helpful. Very clean throughout. Bed was super comfortable. Kitchen was well equipped. A gorgeous breakfast was delivered every morning. Bread, fruit, yogurts, cereals… Negatives - pool (which had workmen upgrading the roof terrace) was freezing. Naturally, not heated, but attached to hose from mains water. Icy. Personally, not a fan of the frosted glass doors/walls to the toilet. We had a large teenager sleeping on the pull down single bed. Was a bit small. Positives far outweigh the negatives. As long as you don’t have your heart set on swimming, you will not regret staying here.

The hostel is located on the 4th floor of a building few mt away from Plaza del Sol so basically the center of the center and this should be a great news but... 1) The room is approx 16 sq mt , it can fit just a bedroom and a very small bathroom 2) The closet is basically non existent . You can just put there a very small luggage and no shelves 3) Below the hotel you have at least 4 restaurant and most of all a pub which is open until 5 AM, and you'll basically have 24/7 people singing , loud, ect. This will happen on every single day of the week, not only the weekend 4) Each single morning at approx 5:30 AM you'll get the noise from the road cleaning plus the trucks delivering the beer.... to the pub! 5) The room , as well the window, is not sound proofed so... good luck with your sleep 6) The sun is hitting the building almost all day, so this means at night it's like Frodo it's about to drop a ring in your room. 7) The A/C it's noisy and due the fact that the room is so small it's basically 1mt away from your bed. Good look with your health To wrap up: good place for a night, but no longer than that!

Oh goodness where to start.... After a couple of weeks of traveling we were ending our trip with a night at the AC Hotel near the airport for ease of travel the next morning. We arrived and met Carmen, she is AMAZING! Bottom line when my friend made the reservation she made it for October 30th, not October 29th, and the hotel was full. After some mad typing and serious looking on the computer Carmen found us the very last room in the hotel. The room was absolutely gorgeous, well appointed, and really comfortable, very sad we were only able to enjoy it for one evening. DON'T USE THE AIRPORT SHUTTLE!!!! So, the next morning, we used the airport shuttle service, OMG! The shuttle driver the next morning if it was on a rating system the star would have to start with a negative. She was unkind, unhelpful, and REALLY RUDE! Be aware when you are using this service you better do your research and know the specific terminal you are flying out of, not the airline, as she will rain hell down on your head. Thank goodness the staff in the hotel was so wonderful, professional, and terrific, couldn't be more pleased and would highly recommend this property.

I have stayed at this hotel a number of times this year when flying to / from Madrid airport. The staff are friendly, helpful and efficient. Check in is always a breeze. I think a chap called Ruben dealt with my check in on my most recent visit. He is a credit to the hotel. The airport shuttle bus is easy and quick. Nothing is ever a problem at this hotel. I look forward to returning at the end of September for another stay following my trip to The States.

I wouldn't recommend it even to my worst enemy. Sweet rooms, bad smell everywhere to the point of giving you arcades, bathroom shared with 7 rooms with mugre (we dare not use it) the door of the room was not closed well... the bed had chinches and the sofas I think they were not clean, summarized a lot of dirt. The hotel is located in the heart of the city, and the hotel is located in the heart of the city. A total tim because we pay for a hostel and gives us is ”pension” for calling it in any way. I would not come back or recommend anyone who would think to spend a night there. To finish we should have a private bathroom and we meet with a griff in The room with good understanding is over the words.
