Everything about our stay here was perfect. We received a warm, friendly greeting with advice about places to visit. Our room was quiet, modern and stylish, the bathroom a good size and spotlessly clean. It's located about two or three minutes walk from the main piazza in Trieste, so you can walk everywhere. The staff were all welcoming and polite. I would recommend it to anyone. In fact, it's almost worth going to Trieste just to stay here!

Nice modern hotel in city center next to main square. Perfect locality bars restaurants sightseen groceries is few steps. Room was clean and comfirt just bathroom is litle older. Only problem is that room can be litle more isolated. We heard sounds from other flor and outside. Brackfast is one of better i try in hotels. It can contain lactosefree things bud you can chose something from it. Corasaints and cackes looks good. Even caffe i was nice nit what you used to have in other hotels in europe :) thx god for itally. Orange juce is fresh made from oranges by auto machine or you can make your own smothoe from prepared vegetable and fruit. Staff was polite and helpfull. If you come by car you can park around hotel on blue places but i recomand to park it neare port becouse the price is 1/2 off the city price. So if you looking for hotel in center this hotel is good choice.

My wife and I and our two boys (6yo and nearly 4yo) stayed at Ritters mid September. Excellent location in Trieste, the perfect spot. We had Apartment 11, on the top floor which was an attic style room, partly low ceilings, there were 2 rooms one included a fold out couch with a tv, small kids play area, storage and the master a king bed with a single as well. Very clean, neat rooms with up to date furniture. The shower was exceptionally small and we at least hit our heads on the low part of the beams about 10 times, also air con was slightly noisy, apart from this we really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it to fellow travellers. The housekeeping was excellent and the service from staff was on point. There is a laundry mat about 30meters from Ritters which was very handy, clothes dried very well in our apartment. We would easily stay here again.

This small hotel is located in the old part of Trieste in a very pretty square. We arrived late at night so picked up our keys from a secure key box at the front of the hotel. The rooms were basic but clean. We booked two rooms at the same price but one was much bigger than the other. Unfortunately, our room was not cleaned after the first night as I discovered when we returned from a day of sightseeing. When I popped down to reception to mention this the staff didn't know how to handle basic complaints. They told me that the room wouldn't be cleaned if the guests were in it. I responded saying I just returned from a day out and had not been in my room. They said they would service it but when I returned in the evening it hadn't been done. The next day the room was finally cleaned but our door was left unlocked as it was the day after that (despite me informing reception). I found this shocking. In addition, no fresh towels were provided during our stay and when the room was serviced the towels were moved so we did not know whose was whose. The towels we did have were threadbare. The experience we had is such a shame as this hotel has the potential to be a hidden gem but has a long long way to go.

Apparently I got upgraded to a room with an ensuite bathroom, so this was a very nice surprise. The second one was the kindness of the girl at the reception, because she waited for me for an extra half an hour after her finishing working hours, so thank you very much. I found room #4 very nice, pleasant and clean. It was equipped with old beautiful wooden furniture, plus a funny old white telephone. The mattress was not as old as the telephone, but it didn't seem to be very modern. On the other hand, there was a flat screen TV. I liked as well the wooden floor and the double-glass windows (but the walls are thin, so it is easy to hear people from the room next door). The hotel is located in the historical district, just 5 minutes away from the big and impressive Piazza Unità d'Italia. Between this and the hotel there are several restaurants and cafes (I can recommend "Life Cafe"). The area (and also Trieste) is very safe, so it is a destination I really recommend (in my eyes, it's a hidden gem). Don't miss it!

Trieste really isn't a fixture on the tourist trail just yet, so with a fairly baffling array of options, Gens Julia turned out to be a great choice. It's located not far from the Piazza Unita, but it might be more straightforward in practice to reach it via Via De Cavana and Via Felice Venezian. Google maps will direct you up the steps via the Basilica San Silvestro, but this is a bit of a maze, and disorientating. Davide and Frederica are great hosts, and Frederica in particular is especially proud and enthusiastic about her home town, so is a rich source of advice. The room was comfortable and a decent size, but the bathroom was adjacent rather than en suite. This seems a common feature in many B+Bs advertised in the city, but it was exclusively for our use, not a shared one. The breakfast was actually one of the better ones we had on this trip, with the typical selection of cold meats, pastries, and fruit, with proper coffee as you would expect in Trieste. The one main criticism is that the rooms all adjoin a common kitchen area and the sound travels easily. So early risers seeking early breakfasts can be clearly heard in the rooms. In addition there are quite a few steps to negotiate to the room, but Davide can help with bags. Moreover, they were very flexible about leaving luggage post checkout so that we could continue exploring before leaving.

The is a gem of a place with its varied history reflected in its architecture, esp. Grande Piazza UNITA. Our apartment in Residence Liberty in Via Armando Diaz was comfortable but sparsely equipped and no kettle! Reception always staffed and very friendly, English spoken.most sights are reached by walking but very good buses at €4.5 for a day ticket. Go to the Castle di Miramare, No. 6 bus from the station, very interesting with extensive gardens. See the Roman theatre and various museums which help to explain the remarkable history here. Don’t miss the Theatre Museum by the Grand Canal with its amazing collection of musical instruments, puppets and theatrical memorabilia, all for just €4.a very welcoming city with very helpful Tourist Information Office. Walking tour was good, too.

This deluxe room is actually a business suite or a family holiday room. There is a large kitchen, dining room, living room and bedroom with a large TV set. Family members can watch different channels and TVs. I have no time to watch TV.) The master bedroom has a terrace where you can open the door to see the sea. Facing the waterfront road, the traffic is turbulent, and the window opening will open the door with a lot of noise, but the windows and doors are double-glazed, and it is very quiet when it is closed. A few hundred meters from the train station and the bus terminal, walkable, or take 8 roads and 2 minutes to arrive, 30 roads are also available. The lobby is divided into two parts: the leisure bar and the book bar. The two areas are unusually spacious, especially the book inside is very large. It really has a lot of books like a library. The big leather sofa sits 300 pounds. It is very relaxed, and there is no luxury in the world! This hotel is worthy of the title of the palace, the room is very high, the ventilation, the countless cabinets, the things are very comfortable. Special attention to the door handle, the fixed diagonal metal ring, the pull is both smooth and stable, reflecting the pursuit of fashion in Italy. This kind of room is especially suitable for families with children. We live with two people, it feels a waste, too luxurious! The breakfast is full, except for salmon, almost everything, and it is delicious. The shower head is medium in size, the water temperature is stable, and the shower room is moderate.

Even Locanda alle Beccherie is located in the old town it gives you all amenities to have a great time. Even an elevator to move up and down you luggage. Really cozy apartment with nice kitchen and wonderful bathroom. And the best is that you walk out the door and you are already next to the Piazza with plenty of restaurants, grocery shops or other facilities. An excellent alternative to a conventional hotel room to enjoy your privacy without hassle to be on time for breakfast. We loved the place and the front desk lady around the corner was so friendly with plenty of useful information about Trieste. Perfect stay.

If you plan on arriving (or checking out) any time other than about 8-10 am, you have to make avance arrangements at this tiny boutique hotel with only 9 rooms on three floors ,upstairs over a restaurant. Two blocks off the waterfront, immediately next to the Bourse Piazza it is very centrally located for shopping for historical sightseeing for excellent restaurants and seeing the core of Trieste. What that means is, while they've done a great job with soundproofing the windows with triple glazing, if you are interested in a very quiet room especially during any kind of event, such as Barcolana week, then you will be very unhappy. Music may stop between 2 and 3 but starting about five or six then the tables and chairs get set up for morning coffee and restaurant openings so there's not a lot of quiet time and there's no real back side to have a room on. If you're on the first floor of rooms above the street you have the additional problem of the restaurant kitchen being directly below you. so ask for one of the upper two floors. The rooms are newly refurbished with modern woods, fairly sparse, but very very functional.

After winter vacation we decide to make a short break in beautiful Trieste. We have a plan to spend the afternoon there, take a sleep and spend a bigger part of the day near the sea. We choose NH Hotel Trieste because of a good location. 50 meters away from the hotel, there is a public parking place, where you can leave a car for 22€ per day. This is a safe and comfortable solution. At the hotel receptionist already waits for us, because we reserved in advance, but even in this situation check-in was too long. The receptionist was very friendly and polite and helps us to find a good place for early dinner. As we were with our 11 years old boy, we took a room with the extra bad. The room was spacious, clean and fully prepared for us. We also have mini-bar which was very useful after Italian specialties we tried for dinner . Breakfast was continental but versatile enough, with great coffee and nice fruits. Again, the hotel staff was very polite and friendly, and at the disposal all the time. After we made check out, we left some of our luggage at the special room and we pick it up before we left Trieste. For this kind of visit, I can give fully recommendations for this hotel.

We are two couple who recently spent 3 nights in two of the studio apartments in the annex across the street from the main hotel building. Everything was what we needed--one of the apartments was a little larger than the other, so we used that one as our gathering spot for a light lunch or just for getting together and chatting at the end of the day. The staff kindly answered any question we had about nearby restaurants. We have travelled enough to know that not everyone likes the breakfasts at Italian hotels, but we LOVE them! We laughed about how much we ate each morning! During our stay we saw two different men taking care of the breakfast room. Each one was nice and helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

Positive things: - The communication with Stefano was excellent. He is a nice and reliable person, who helps you immediately, if you have a question or need help. - Our room (with two separated beds) was nice and cozy. - The breakfast was sweet and you could make your tea and drink coffee (it was not the typical stronger Italian coffee, but it's okay to start the day with:-). - The cleaning team came every 3rd day and they changed the towels, took out the garbage, cleaned the bathroom and made your bed. The only thing they always forgot is to clean the floor (it is parquet), and after a few days it was not sooo coool walking barefoot in the room... My subjective opinion: This B&B is on the first floor in a house, which reminds me of the Eastern-European dirty, not renovated houses after the war (like in Hungary or in other East-Block countries)..., so don't be scared, just take the steps. It's advantage is: nobody's gonna break in to this place, because from the outside it's just a little bit fu...d-up...:-) The central station is really a 5-minutes-walk, which is awesome, but it also means, that you are close to a very busy street and the house is old, so your room will be very noisy. The best thing: - The center is just a 10-minute walk. - If you go left, and take the bus nr.6 or the nr.36, it will take you right to Miramare castle (which is the end-station) or you can just get off at the promenade and have a swim in the sea. - Beach-tip: if you'd like to have a sunbed and a clean toilet and a restaurant, where you can spend the whole day: BAGNO STICCO is your place! Take the bus nr.6 or nr.36 and get off two stations before the end-station (before Miramare castle), and there you go. The entrance (with sunbed) costs 12 EUR.
