      I decided to extend my stay for an extra night as my travel opportunity opened up. Booking 2 separate nights in a row proved no issue in pat experience. This location required me to check out at noon and then check back in at 9pm. It seemed like unnecessary steps and when asking to just maintain the room throughout they said there would be a charge of 40000 won. I loaded my stuff into my car and left it in their lot just to move back into the same room 7 hours later. I checked in early as I was tired and they charged 5000 won per hour early check in. Will not stay here again.

      My friend and I wanted a hotel close to Lotte Mall for shopping. The hotel is really close and there is also a big underground Daiso right around the corner. To get to the hotel, we can from Lotte Mall by Zara, cross the street towards a Daiso sign, turn right, pass underground Daiso, turn left under the sign for Bangidong Food Alley, then first left. The hotel does not said WOW on the outside but it does on the inside. It has a bunch of flaps hanging down half way from the ceiling that you walk under/cars park under to get to the main door. Really clean. Has soap inside, bath robes, slippers, tv, computer.

It takes about 20 minutes to complete the kung fu. The breakfast hotel provided slices of bread. We went to the convenience store to buy some instant noodles or something. The breakfast was very rich. Friendly reminder: I ’m really tired of shopping, let the clerk help you order a takeaway, and it will be done in minutes. Eating fried chicken beer in the restaurant will make travelling not boring.

      Highly recommended place to stay in South Korea when you are travelling on a budget. The room is spacious enough for me and my friend. Everything we need is there, including umbrella and selfie stick (just make sure to return them after using😂). The staffs are also very helpful and approachable. Uncle Tom was incredible too as he can speak many languages, including Filipino. I can never forget that day in the dining area where he surprised a guest from Kazakhstan by he speaking his language! It was just amazing.😃 He is attentive to the needs of his guests (thank you for the heat packs😍) and makes sure to interact with us during breakfast (which is free 😁). The location of the hostel is also very good as it very near Insadong and Exit 7 Jongno 3 Subway Station. It is near Changdeokgung Palace and a temple, thereby the area is generally quiet which makes it perfect if you want to rest after a day full of activities. All in all, Hostel Tommy is a perfect place to stay. Will surely be back in the future. 😃 P.S. I miss this doggy from our room. P.P.S. You can follow Hostel Tommy on Instagram!       I frequent this hotel when I go to Korea for work as it is usually a short stay and the location is very convenient. I have always had pleasant service and stays in the past. However, this time around, I was rudely greeted by an employee named Joy. She was not helpful and acted as if I were a bother while checking in. I was surprised as her rudeness as I was looking forward to my stay and had never experienced this before here. It was to the point that I was fuming even when I went into my room and to dinner. I told everyone I was with that I was not going to stay at this hotel again. However, the next day, the other employees who were working down at the front (2 males) were so kind upon checkout. They turned a bad experience around. I would like for action to be taken against Joy, or at least spoken to about her behavior. I wanted praise for the two employees from the next day, but I was in a rush and unfortunately, didn't get their names.

      We had a girls (all adults) trip to Korea and for the last leg of our trip we wanted to stay in a central location and close to the train station. Daol Guesthouse is in a super convenient location in Hongdae and away from the busy area which is nice. We stayed in a 3 bedroom with private bathroom and it was just nice for 3 female adults. Ji Won and her family are super warm and friendly and they are ever ready to help you with any advice to get around the city. They also prepare breakfast every morning with seasonal fruits. They introduced us to a local Ginseng Market which led us to find this hole in the wall fried chicken place which we think is hands down the best fried chicken. If you are looking for a no frills, warm bed and convenient location to rest at night after walking all day in the city, best place to be at, Daol Guesthouse.

      Hostel is brilliantly located about 5 minutes walk to Myeongdong. Bus stop to catch the airport bus is also 5 minutes away. Hostel itself is up a sloping street (“cartoon street”) which has convenience stores, restaurants (including a 24 hour one!) and shops. Very convenient. Despite this, street is quiet; we had no problems with noise. The hostel is about 5 stories tall which includes the rooftop sitting area. Note no lift. Simple breakfast of toast and cereal available every morning in the kitchen on the (I think) 3rd floor or in the little reception area. Coffee and juice available too. Note no tea (bring your own!). Our family of 4 took 2 rooms across the corridor from each other. Rooms are small, simply furnished but comfortable and clean. Heated floors were a bonus! Each room comes with a little fridge. En-suite bathroom was clean. Rooms come with small hand towels; proper bath towels are available with a small deposit. Laundry service is also available for a reasonable fee. Staff were generally friendly and accommodating. There is a little welcome pack of treats when you arrive and a “goodbye” bag when you leave. A nice touch. Note there is a surcharge for using your credit card. All in all, a comfortable and clean place to stay in a great location and at a reasonable price.

      Actually me and my friends stayed in April 2018. The guesthouse was very clean and gave a welcoming feeling. Although located in Hongdae(but nearer to sangsu station), somehow it wasn’t loud and were able to get a good night’s sleep. Plenty of restaurants and food joints around that open till late night so you don’t have to worry about going hungry in the middle of the night. Adequate amount of bathrooms available on both floors. There are both unisex and women’s bathroom. So ladies who don’t mind staying in a co-ed guesthouse but aren’t fond of the idea of sharing bathroom with the opposite sex, this is the guesthouse for you. Spacious dining area with wall-mounted TV where you can watch youtube videos on. Clean kitchen with breakfast provided. You can cook your own meals too. Water dispenser and fridge available on the top floor so those staying upstairs don’t have to go down just to get food/drinks. Washing machine(no dryer) available for use. Clean towels provided daily. Staffs were very friendly and accomodating. Definitely a place me and my friends will book again.
