Travel brings highs and lows. We had dramas trying to leave Chile due to the current political unrest. After losing our flights and a long day of travel, we arrived safely to this hotel. We were not welcomed or greeted but instead spoken to abruptly by the gentleman on reception. After such a stressful time, it was upsetting to arrive safely but be treated rudely. Thankfully, the staff members in the morning were polite and friendly. A smile is universal in any language and goes a long way.

This place is on the main drag of town. For 50 dollars, its a good deal. The rooms are a bit worn, but the service was good. Parking is a block away in a public lot which offers a varying discount for Grand Hotel guests. It still costs about 10 dollars a day to park. The hotel location is easily accessible to dinner and drink spots. We stayed there twice when passing through town.

I booked the hotel on booking.com, due to the good reviews. The dorm rooms ( 4 people) are a bit small. After two nights we changed to a private double room, which was much bigger, daily housekeeping service and even fresh towels. The breakfast was decent and enough. The staff was super friendly. Great location, only two blocks away from the Main Street. If I would go back to Bariloche, I would stay there again.

The lobby of this hotel is magnificent. Two fireplaces a bar a work area, for the benefit of the guest. The employees are very well mannered, And knowledgeable. The breakfast was good, and the rooms are nice, a little bit outdated, I had some towels that had extra fringe on them, but they worked well. The elevator works good, I stayed on the second floor and it was quite enough to sleep, the beds are excellent. The Wi-Fi also work very good.

We booked Ayres for one night with the plan to look around Bariloche for another hotel if it wasn't great; no need. The hotel was excellent for its price range. We returned for 2 more nights throughout our entire stay in the area. The front desk staff are friendly and helpful. We really appreciated the larger-than-normal room size. Perfectly clean and nicely appointed.Definitely ask for a room on the front as these have a balcony and bigger windows. One might think the street would be noisy at night because the hotel is half a block of the main tourist promenade avenue but in fact it was perfectly quiet.

We stayed at the Charming Lodge in February 2020 for almost one week and the lodge was an excellent choice. The rooms were clean, well maintained, and the master suite had great views of the lake. The private spa, sauna, and steam room were very nice to have in the room The location was convenient to both the town as well as the hiking trails and scenic viewpoints in the area - although having a car is more recommended for the convenience. Parking was never a problem. The restaurant cuisine was very good and the staff was able to accommodate dietary restrictions pretty easily (vegetarian). The level of service at the lodge was phenomenal and the staff made our entire trip very easy and smooth. They assisted not only with making arrangements (whether it was for reservations or expeditions) but they helped us with needs we didn't even think of ourselves or initially ask for. I'd recommend staying here and would come back if I was back in Bariloche.

I’m a frequent business traveler, but generally trend towards Marriott properties (I’m a lifetime Titanium Elite member). But in a recent trip to Bariloche and with COVID measures in place,I wanted to find a brand hotel to assure some level of cleanliness, which is how I came to this hotel. The property itself seems very new and well kept. The rooms are comfortable and spacious, and one thing I loved were the end tables which have USB connectors hidden away to keep clutter hidden. The shower could’ve been a bit larger. But the best thing of all was the level of service. Everyone that tended to us was always smiling and very welcoming. When ordering breakfast even though we could go up to the buffet table to ask for some items, they brought it to our table. And when checking out, upon seeing my kids loved their bonbons they gave us an entire handful and a bottle of water for the road! And finally, when seeing we were headed to Villa La Angostura and San Martín de los Andes, Lautaro at the reception desk messaged us after we left recommending restaurants which were open at both locations!! We loved Bariloche and hope to go back one day, and we’ll definitely make sure we stay here again.

My husband & I rented a cabin in January, 2020. It looked great on Booking.com. When we arrived and checked in, we were shown an upstairs unit. I believe it was 772. It looked nothing like the photos on line. It was dark, dingy and obviously in need of an update. In addition, we faced the gravel driveway and a dingy hedge wall so there was literally nothing to look at including the same view from the deck. It was decidedly depressing. We were really chapped at how misleading the photos were from the web sites. We went to the front desk to request an alternate room. The clerk said he would speak to the manager. I believe we waited at least an hour or more before the manager finally showed up-- this was after we both got really angry over their complete lack of response. We felt they were intentionally ignoring us. Finally we were shown a suite in the hotel on the top floor. According to the prices on line, the room rates are about the same (it is expensive for Argentina @ $227/night). The unobstructed lake views were very good. The bedroom door closes so it offers privacy. The suite was clean and very functional, despite the tiny dorm size fridge. Note the lack of any cooking facilities (which we didn't need anyway). What left a sour taste is the poor customer service at the desk and forcing us to wait so long without any explanation. We would not stay there again. I think there are plenty of other properties to choose from. We had previously stayed at the Arelauquen (Marriott) Resort which we preferred. It included the use of a washer complementary for guests, had great food as well as beautiful views of the mountains/golf course from our window).

A two night stay at this hotel was cut short when one member of our party lost her passport and we had to return to Buenos Aires earlier. We noticed the missing passport when we arrived at the hotel. We were immediately impressed with the Manager, Nicolas Osquiguil, who immediately guide us through the process of contacting everybody from the Police to the airline to search for the passport. His intervention allowed us to enjoy what little time we had left in Bariloche. Thank you Nicolas. As to the Hotel, it was more than we expected. Huge rooms, well appointed and with great views, they were also clean and quite. This is not a resort hotel full of activities, it is a place to rest after and enjoy a slower pace. Wish the weather had been a tad warmer because I could have spent a few hours sitting outside, enjoying the view and just doing nothing. I hope to return to this hotel in my next trip here.

We made a last minute reservation -- hot on the heels of cancelling a three day stay. (We (US residents) were caught in the Covid19 shutdown, had to cut short our visit, and were racing to get out of the country before the flights stopped.) Despite having been deluged with cancellations by others like us, the hotel staff was friendly, accommodating, and did their best to make our stay as wonderful as they could. I know that many weren't sure if they would have a job. We had a terrific room, looking out onto the water. Clean, more than comfortable, and elegant. Restaurant was fantastic! Ingredients were fresh and very nicely prepared; we had dinner, as well as the complimentary breakfast the following day. We are already planning our return for next year, and will definitely book here again!

We went up on a trip with about 8 friends, to play some golf in Arelauquen (2mins away) and Llao Llao and relax. The lodge / cabin (not sure what to call it) is beautiful, very cozy. Very clean, neat rooms (nothing fancy), perfect showers. No TVs so no one bothers with loud noises and great fireplace in the living room. Jorge, the manager, is GREAT! Always trying to make feel at home. Organized an amazing "asado a la cruz" (a whole lamb cooked for about 5hs) that was just perfect. We'll be back again next year for sure!!!!

I’ll start with the good. The staff is very kind and always greeted us with a smile. The breakfast is simple but it is included for RCI members which is great. It included toasts, eggs, fruit, cereal, yogurt, along with juice coffee and tea. If you have a car, the location is great. Just outside of the busy town, and already on the way towards most of the hikes and other activities. The property itself is pretty, and has a nice outdoor area with a fire pit, tennis court, etc. The bad: the rooms are clean but everything is extremely basic. They definitely need to be updated. The kitchen is “fully equipped” but only has one dull knife, no wine opener, and very few items to cook with. There is a list of everything provided but many items are missing from the list. Be sure to bring your own napkins, paper towels, etc. The WiFi is non existent. There are two options to connect to WiFi and neither of them work properly. THE WORST:the “SPA” is an indoor/outdoor pool that is only heated sometimes. The jacuzzi is fine but only seats 4 people (awkward if those people are not all together because it is so small). And there is no masseuse on site... so we had to wait for the staff to call around and find someone to give us a massage. Stone massages were advertised and yet no one was able to give us one. We paid for an hour massage... each one only lasted about 45 minutes. There is only one massage table so we had to take turns. This place should absolutely not be considered a spa. We used our RCI points for this place and compared to most RCI resorts, this isn’t quite up to the standard. For a normal hotel, it’s clean and basic. Not worth the RCI points.

This hotel exceeded our expectations. We rented a two story, two bedroom/two bath apartment with living room/kitchen. The price was very reasonable for the number of rooms, so I was a little nervous. But it was wonderful! And perfect for our family of four including two teens. The beds were extremely comfortable and well outfitted with good bedding. It was the best sleep we had in Argentina. Some guests noted noise from the street - we didn't hear anything at night from our rooms, minimal noise in the afternoon. The view out the living room window was of the lake across the street and mountains, the small deck was a great place to sit and soak up sun even in winter. The service was excellent. The breakfast was simple - mostly sweets with fresh fruit and bread and lunch meats/cheese, cereal and coffee. The location was perfect - just outside Bariloche and about 20 minutes drive to Catedral. I would recommend this hotel for people who have/rent a car as we did, but there is a bus stop across the street and you can walk into town in about 20 minutes. The drives we took around the lake and toward Llao Llao were absolutely spectacular.

Reception was not good and we had to carry 2 large cases up 2 flights of stairs. In fact, another guest carried mine up for me. The apartment was in the eaves and was extremely hot with no air conditioning and only one small window in the bedroom. The lounge was similarly lacking in roper ventilation. We returned to reception and requested another room. After a moment or two, the receptionist muttered something to the effect that yes, they knew it was a hot room! They offered us a ground floor apartment which was cool as we walked in but the main windows looked onto the drive with pedestrians walking by, completely able to look in. So, we had to keep the curtains closed. Net curtains would b a great improvement. We asked for a porter to help bring down our cases! We were told and it was written that breakfast would be served from 07.30 hrs which we were pleased about as we were being picked up at 08.00 hrs. At 07.30 hrs, the waitress had only just begun to put out the plates of food! And as we were leaving at 07.50 hrs, she was still bringing out food. The next morning, we decided to go for breakfast at 07.55 hrs and were astonished to see that the buffet table was still not fully ready for guests! Totally inadequate service.

We stayed at the Arelauquen Lodge in Bariloche for 3 nights during our honeymoon trip to Argentina. This was by far our favorite part of the trip! The location was beautiful, the stay was beyond amazing and the area was just spectacular! You will want to call the hotel to arrange a pickup from the airport as they check registration at the entrance and if they are not current you won't be allowed through and it is a long way from the entrance to the lodge. When we checked in it was busy and our room wasn't ready so we checked our bags and grabbed some drinks and lunch in the lodge. View was incredible and the food was so fresh and good! Nick was the manager and he was beyond helpful and really made our stay that much better! He lived in the US so English was great. He helped organize drivers, made recommendations for breweries and chocolate shops in the town and dinner reservations for us while we were there. Can not say enough good things about Nick!! Christian was another amazing person we met that worked there, he was usually our waiter and bartender at night but we enjoyed talking to him each nite. Great person and added to our trip. This location is isolated a bit you will have to either rent a car or have a driver take you everywhere but it is worth it. Many walking paths and hikes from the lodge. We would stay here again in heartbeat, looking forward to our return trip. Can't say enough wonderful things about the staff and this location!!!

We had a delightful stay at La Malinka! On arrival we were greeted by a lovely receptionist who kindly made up an extra bed in a very large room to accommodate my friend and I. Nice lounge area with good WiFi. Walked into town to absorb the views (45min) and got a taxi back for under $200. Enjoyed a couple of bottles of wine on the communal sofas at night which was great! I enjoyed a great night sleep; my companion, less so — but only due to my snoring!!! Breakfast in the morning was most enjoyable with a very friendly atmosphere and WHAT A VIEW. We loved the usual things about Selina brand: its comfort (multiple common areas to relax/work), cleanliness, friendly staff and good bedrooms (comfortable beds, hot showers 24/7, curtains in the bunk beds for added privacy, etc). The decoration is absolutely beautiful and it makes you feel at home. This particular location has a spa with sauna, hot tub, pool and gym, which was 50% off being a Selina guest. The only downside in our opinion was the common kitchen: there was only one pan for all guests and the available pots were pretty big for cooking for 1-2 people. Also beware, the price of the tours is more expensive than what you can find in town. And the uphill going from the city is a killer! Other than that, totally recommended!

Recently spent 4 days here at this lovely find in Bariloche There is nothing quite like Room 3's terrace and view of the Patagonia sunrise over Lago Nahuel Huapi. The hotel is tastefully decorated and filled with original artwork (lots of Patagonia scenery)- I highly recommend taking a walk through. I found the front desk staff incredibly helpful and resourceful. I owe my thanks to Natalia, her partner, and Julian for helping me coordinate activities. The room had some tired looking carpet but was quite comfortable and spacious with a stunning view. The shower has good water pressure + temperature. Excellent room temperature control with heat and air conditioning. Breakfast is light -- eggs, bacon/sausage, yogurt, cereal, grains some fruits, and bread.. it runs from 7-11AM. Didn't try the restaurant but the tea + biscuit in the lobby was delightful-- it's a great way to spend an afternoon resting and writing postcards! Paula in the spa is very kind and can work magic on your sore muscles after a long trek. And, with 550 pesos, you can easily get to most of the sites in Bariloche- including Cerro Campanario, bike / kayak rental spot, and the town center. This place is really just perfect- not as crowded as Llao Llao but with high standards of quality. I almost didn't want to write such a great review for fear it'll attract all the masses! I definitely plan to stay here again!

The hotel is new and just completed its first year. Overall it is a good hotel with great views and nice rooms, but overly priced for what it offers. It is 5km from the city center, which isn’t bad, but getting around is not so easy. Taxi or remises (alternative private transportation) take at least 10 minutes to arrive, but can take up to 40 minutes. If you have to get around plan ahead so not to keep waiting for so long. Be careful with remises and always ask prices upfront, as they like to overcharge when possible. Rooms are good with a small living area that has a small kitchen and a sofa-bed. One problem is that they do not wash the dishes and if you want to have them washed you have to pay extra. At the price rate they charge washing a couple of dishes should not be charged extra. The hotel itself is not integrated. For getting from one place to the other you have to go outside in the cold. This is the case with the pool and breakfast. This is really annoying as you have to dress warm just to go to one these places and then take all off because of the heating.

The location is not bad, it is close to the urban environment near the lake. The room is very spacious and hygienic. It is also very good. The new hotel sanitary equipment is definitely no problem. The service is a little worse. It may be that the service staff asks too little, so the service can’t keep up. There is no relationship between fixed doormen. After all, a 5-star hotel has to leave its own luggage. It’s too much to say that it’s too late. The front desk also feels that it has not reached the scale of 5 stars. Others are quite good, and they don’t enjoy the 5 star service. Reach the service of a 3-star hotel

The bedroom was very small and clean (apart from grubby curtains), with just enough room to walk around the bed, and was simply decorated. Small bathroom with not enough room to put everything, but with an adequate shower. We had a partial lake view even though the hotel was facing “the wrong way” in the centre of town. The breakfast room was airy and spacious, but there was an over-reliance on very sweet pastries and cakes. Check-in was over-officious, bureaucratic and tedious in that far more information was asked for than anywhere else we have been in Latin America , including age and occupation (the former was in our passports, the latter was none of their business). We were then confronted with an unexpected tourist tax of $45 (£1.60) per person per night and the Receptionist insisted on reading out a long list of hotel regulations, like a 1950s landlady, before we could go to our room. As a final negative comment – you have to climb a flight of external stairs to reach the lobby; it was bad enough getting all the luggage up, but how would a disabled person cope?
