0.09km from Everest Steak HouseMy girlfriend and I stayed at the Dom Himalaya for our first two nights in Nepal and were greeted upon arrival at the airport by a friendly driver who kindly waited after our flight had been delayed. The hotel was pleasant, its amenities were nice (a few plugs in the room didn't work) and the staff were hospitable. However, we were not impressed with the details provided by Khagendra Regmi for the tour operated by the hotel. We discussed the details and were led to believe that the payment was at our discretion and we only needed pay entry to the various sites which we visited. We asked to reconfirm the full price/how much money we would need and a price of appx. 3000 NPR was confirmed. We thought this was a good deal and were really pleased with Khagendra's guidance. However, after paying our driver 4000 NPR for the day (around 5-6 hours), we we only informed on checkout that the tour actually cost USD 55, plus whatever we wanted to pay our driver and the entry fees for each site. The price itself was no issue and we would have paid regardless, although it was very disappointing that this was not disclosed when we discussed the details. Khagendra's attitude when we appeared confused was very unprofessional, stating that this was clear from the outset (it was definitely not, as neither my girlfriend or I had any idea of the charge). We proceeded to pay the fee and leave the hotel with a a bitter taste and subsequently the hotel then cancelled our booking through booking.com. Whether this was coincidental or not, it meant that we were unable to leave a review and appeared suspicious based upon what had occurred during check-out. We are staying another night in Kathmandu and would not be inclined to return on this basis.
