The Villa is in the hills above Florence and is owned by a Missionary order. There is plenty of parking. A bus stop is a few hundred metres from the Villa and it takes about 15mins to the centre. You can buy tickets at reception and the staff were very helpful with bus numbers and stops. Our room was a bit more basic than we were expecting and quite small with twin beds. It did however open onto a large shared terrace. The bathroom was a good size, we had very good internet access but tea and coffee facilities were only available in the communal dining area. · Room was quite small and the twin beds a bit basic. No in room tea and coffee facilities.

Really good hotel. Wonderful old building recently renovated to a high standard. Excellent, friendly and helpful staff, spacious and spotless rooms with very good breakfasts included. It could not be better situated being a couple of hundred metres from the C1 bus stop. This bus runs a very frequent and reliable circular route right into the centre for €1:50.All the major attractions- Uffizi, Pitti Palace, Dome , Ponte a Vecchio are within easy walking distance from it's stops. Easy to get to the railway station and thence the airport. A brilliant place to stay.

General facilities, older European-style hotels with elevators. There is a large and small supermarket on the opposite side of the hotel. It is closed at 9 o'clock in the evening. It is also very convenient to supplement. The location is very good, the main attractions to the old town are within walking distance, take a look at the city to pay attention to the sights. For self-driving travel, it is suitable. Outside the ZTL, the free parking space at the door should not be considered forever. The parking lot will enter the street behind the hotel building. The iron door will be automatically opened according to the door, but there are only 10 parking spaces, 10 Euro per car. .

Great hotel with super friendly and helpful staff, pleasant continental breakfast and clean, modern rooms with all the necessary facilities (mini-fridge, safe, hairdryer etc). My boyfriend and I still can't understand how it's rated 2 stars as we've stayed in not as nice hotels that are supposedly 4 stars! It is a bit of a walk from the main tourist attractions (25-30 minutes) and there isn't a great deal in the way of bars/restaurants nearby but there is a bus that takes you into the town centre in 10 mins from right by the hotel. My only real criticism would be how tricky it was to get to from Pisa airport - you have to get a coach, then a tram and then a bus which took us a couple of hours. I think the hotel's website makes the journey sound a bit quicker and simpler than the reality!

When we checked in we were offered an upgrade to a bigger room for 30 euros. The room and bed were considerably bigger so we went for it - it was 30 euros per night not the 2 nights of our stay! This wasnt the problem though! On our first morning we got up and had the very lovely breakfast before heading out to explore Florence. Which we did, cranking up 16 miles of walking. Had a lovely day and got back to the hotel ready for bed.......However our room had not been made up/cleaned/restocked etc. So unmade bed, wet towels, dirty coffee cups, no more coffee or milk. I spoke to the very lovely receptionist who came and took photos, and brought clean cups etc and even offered to clean the room whilst we waited in reception. But as there is not bar or TV or anything in the reception area and we were keen to get showered and to bed ready for our next day exploring. I had been hopping for some recompense for this, but was told the following day that it was our fault as there was a little red light on the door locking system that said we were not to be disturbed - which we had not been shown and were not aware that it had been activated! Anyway apart from this hicup, the hotel was fine and reasonably priced (if it had been cleaned!) and comfortable enough with a good breakfast. Be aware that it is not in the center of things so expect a reasonable 20-30 minute walk. It was nice and quiet though - from the location, but as it is a bit of a weird set up being over 2 floors and needing to use entry codes to get in and out to the stairway, I can imagine if you had a room near one of the clunking locks it would have been noisy with other guests coming and going. Had a lovely old fashioned lift too!

Ok so I had really high hopes for this place. But they were quickly diminished. I’ll start with the positives.

-Staff was very friendly from the moment we arrived.
-Room was very big with comfortable bed.
-Netflix on the tv was a nice touch as watching tv in a foreign language is not the most fun experience so it was nice to be able to watch something we know at the end of a long day.

Now the negatives which are pretty BIG negatives.....

1. I got LOCKED IN to the hotel. Staff is only here til 8am-10pm. Well I stopped in to get money out of my safe in the room at 1030pm. Well all the doors are locked and you cannot get out! The front door is bolted down and the back gate does not open from the inside. I’ve never seen a place like this. So I tried calling the emergency number, only to find out my phone in the room did not work. So I was stuck in the room the rest of the night. While my family was out having a late dinner I was sitting in the room. The most preposterous thing ever. When I brought it up to the staff the next day all she said was she was really sorry. I then asked at checkout if there was anything they could do for me for my troubles and they did not make me pay for my city tax which was nice of them, which was only 18€ but it’s something. So if you plan on going anywhere past 9pm, do not stay here. What if there was an emergency, say a fire etc. Seems to be a huge safety concern.

2. They only give you one key. The problem with that is the AC only works when your key is in the slot in the room. We took 2 day trips during our stay that lasted around 12-13 hours so our hotel room went without AC all day and when we got back to the room, it was hot and stuffy. Not something you want to come back from after a long day of sightseeing. From what I gather, this may be a common thing in Europe??

3. There was a gurgling sound in our toilet every 25-30 min or so which was annoying and would wake us up from time to time.

4. There was a small amount of mosquitoes/bugs around the room.

5. Train station/sights are about a mile away. So about 20 min walk. It’s doable, but not very convenient if you’re doing a lot around the city center.

6. They give you no hand soap. They include body gel, shampoo, conditioner, but no hand soap?? Very odd.

In conclusion, only stay here if you plan on sticking around the hotel all day and don’t plan to go out at night. They have only been around for a year but i can’t believe they never thought of people having to get out of the building past 10pm. Worst experience I’ve ever had at a hotel. The only reason I gave 2 stars is because of the friendly staff and big rooms. I hope they figure out the kinks because it could be a really nice place!

We had a wonderful and peaceful time at their Terrace Suite. It is spacious, has its own terrace, and it was an experience to have breakfast there everyday. It feels like you are at home, and you have someone to prepare a tasty and generous breakfast everyday, brought in to the room. The terrace was clearly the highlight of the suite. The staff were also friendly and helpful. If you fine with staying away from the center, a 20 minute walk to the city, slightly less to the fort, then go for it. It is clean, and well maintained. Please note that there is no lift access to the terrace suite. Might not be suitable for everyone.

We chose hotel Ungherese, because we traveled by car and the hotel is situated outside the limited zone for cars in the historic center of Florence (ZTL) and offers parking space at a private parking garage with an added fee in the room price. Very quiet location, easy access to the city center (bus stop just a few meters outside of the hotel, use buses no 11 or 17). The hotel is recently renovated. The rooms are beautifully decorated (ours was room no 9), the bathroom was spotless and the wi-fi is great. As for the breakfast, it was adequate but with limited variety. One major disadvantage: there were a lot of mosquitos during the summer season, due to the fact that they watered the plants in the garden throughout the day. The windows weren’t equipped with insect screens and as a result we woke up every morning with multiple mosquito bites. We tried to keep the windows closed but it didn’t seem to stop the bugs. It may seem unimportant but really bothered us in the end! All in all, it is a decent choice at its price for the city of Florence.

Hotel service is not bad. Go to the saved package in advance. The room has two bottles of water every day and a variety of shower gels. The tub is great and great, which is the most satisfying. The atmosphere is not bad, breakfast is good, there are English newspapers. Insufficient: The dust in the room is a bit too much. Then there is dust in the water in the machine that burns water, so there is no water to drink. There is no English channel on the TV and I don't understand it at all. The front desk staff is really great! ! English is not bad! ! Close to Freedom Square and walk for ten minutes to the city centre. Basically, it is not very convenient to use a car because the city is small and there is no need to take a bus.

it is my third or fourth stay in this little B&B, centrally located at walking distance from both the railway station and the exhibition center, Fortezza da Basso. it is locatd very close the old San Lorenzo market. Large rooms, all renovated, nice and modern design, very comfortable bed, perfect cleaning. Room are equipped with a small fridge, air conditionign TV and a working Wi-Fi. The shower (no bathtub) may be dark in some rooms, but it is not a big problem, at least for me. Normal amenities in the bathroom. A basic but suffcient breakfast. Nice and friendly staff that can also help you in going around and/or booking trips and museums. Indeed very good value for money

Let's start by the obvious plus for this hotel and to be honest takes any negative away - it's location , I have I attached the view of the Duomo from our room window . The room it self was very big and had lots of storage space , the lockable private bathroom was located outside the room across the hall it was basic but not as bad that has been posted ( I'm 5'11 and 16 stone and managed fine in the shower cubicle ) . You are situated in a very noisy area but there are double windows that lock out all noise and although there are curtains on the window alcove they are just for decoration , if you want to keep out the light the windows have wooden shutters which give blackout conditions . All in all this is a budget hotel in a top area , if you want luxury in this area I would look elsewhere and have a healthy bank balance but this hotel did give you that traditional feel of Italy

This place is more like an "appartment" than a B&B. We stayed in room #4 which has two twin beds and is quite spacious. Upon arrival no one answered the door but when we called their number, someone came to help us within 5 minutes. My advice would be: make sure you have the phone number with you. I guess waiting, even if only for a few minutes, might not be nice when it's raining. We loved the wooden floor, the beautiful ceiling and decoration in the room (simple but in style with the old building) especially our chandelier :-). The bathroom is very modern but consists only of a toilet and shower. The wash basin is actually in the room itself, around a corner, which didn't bother us. There is a water cooker in the room but only tea, no (instant) coffee. So if you like to drink coffee, you have to bring your own. There are lots of TV channels but not a single English or other language one. The room is up a short flight of stairs and then a small elevator takes you further up. The location is just UNBELIEVABLE!!! A 5 minutes" walk from Palazzo Vecchio and 15 min to Ponte Vecchio. There is a taxi stand around the corner at Piazza della Repubblica. There are several good options for breakfast nearby. Would certainly recommend. Hard to beat the price and location!

Nice small boutique B&B. Check in was easy with everything explained and being personally shown around the hotel and to the room. The Superior room is exactly like the pictures, with a bathtub inside the room. Lots of space, large TV, and a bathroom with lots of mirrors! Lots of hot water, and the bath was great to use. Didn’t use it as a shower so can’t comment on the water pressure. Simple breakfast with pastries, cereal, spreads, yoghurt, juices, coffee, cold cuts etc served in the dining room. No staff onsite after 7pm, but there’s still little touches like mood lighting and music playing through the common areas.

I mean during the check in the entire time, the staff ignored me the entire time, I understand he knows I was with my friends, but I have my reservation separately, he should handle it by the order, and not just assigned me the smallest room just because I was a single person.I booked the exactly same type of room just like my friends, and their room is twice bigger than mine. And I can only eat breakfast in bed because there was no room to put it. That’s hilarious actually.

Location is good especially for those who likes walking, it will take you 15-20 minutes to reach the Duomo. Also, the building itself gives you very special atmosphere. There were two bottles of water and some cookies for free in the room while check-in. Breakfast was very good (served in the cafe 5 minutes walking from the hotel): juice, coffee and baked goods (2 pieces to choose). This hotel is a very good choice for its price!

We spent 4 nights at this hotel last week. I always use trip advisor for recommendations and it’s always been on point and very helpful. This is the first time that I just don’t understand all these 5 star reviews. The hotel is on the 2nd floor of a residential building. When you walk into the building, there are stairs to get to the first floor. On the first floor there is a small elevator you can take to the hotel floor. Be prepared to carry your luggage up to the elevator. The room was big with high ceilings. The bathroom was a decent size as well. It seemed clean. The WiFi was a big problem as we couldn’t connect any devices due to their router having a problem. Luckily they had another room available and we were moved because that room had a stronger signal and because I needed the internet for work, I had to agree to pack our things and move. The second room was nicer. The design was better and it even had flowers which was a nice touch. They have a buffet breakfast with few choices and after the first few days, it wasn’t enjoyable because it was the same thing day after day. Bread, cereal, croissants, cheese, ham, Nutella, jam, fruits, juice. The dining area is nice. The biggest problem we had with the hotel was the smell. There was a smell as soon as you enter the hotel and it was even worse in the room and especially bathroom. In the bathroom was such a strong sewer smell. I was so disappointed. I’m not sure if the sewer issue is just in this hotel or others as well. The location was decent. It’s just a few minutes walk from the Santa Croce church and shops and restaurants. It’s about a 13 minute walk from the center where the Duomo is located. With all this being said, the hotel staff was very nice and helpful. They were willing to help with what’s needed.

There are three people in our family, and one double bed can be added to the double room. Hygiene can be good, the bathroom has ultraviolet lights, can be disinfected, air conditioning and cooling is good, sound insulation can also be. However, the hotel is rebuilt in a building with a small environment. The room next to the breakfast hall will be affected by the voice of the diners early in the morning; if you wake up early, it will be less affected. Relative to the price is low!

When you get to the building 17 look at the panel for Capri Moon and press the button. Walk into the double doors and wait until they buzz you in the right gate. Walk upstairs all the way to the top and the guesthouse is to your right. Now for the room itself, the beds are comfortable along with the pillows. The restroom is great as well. We, a family of 5, stayed here for 2 nights. PROS: great location. It is right on the edge of everything, so the streets are quiet but it is still close to the Duomo and Accademie. Clean. Everything was quite clean, the floors, bathrooms, beds. Super nice. The owner and his staff are all super I d and accommodating. Free breakfast. It is pretty “meh.” My picky American kids wouldn’t eat most of it. The fruit always seemed overripe and there was other weirdness about it. But they do try. Spacious. The rooms are large and the bathrooms not super tiny. My three gripes about it: It is very dated. The lobby area is probably clean but it looks like your great-aunt’s living room, cluttered with doilies, lace tablecloths and old appliances, so it looks a little grubby. Everything could use a fresh coat of paint. It looks like an older Airbnb vs a 3 star hotel. Our fridge didn’t work. We were there in the middle of a heat wave and would have liked for our water to be cold. The housekeeping turned off the air conditioning while we were gone. It wasn’t unbearably hot or anything but as I mentioned, we were in the middle of a heat wave and after walking all day in 102 degree weather (with a baby in a baby carrier!), it would have been nice to come back to a nice cold room. Overall, I’m not sure I’d stay here again. There are certainly a lot pro’s but the price for a more updated, nicer hotel isn’t that much more. If you’re trying to save a buck, it’s fine. If you’d like to feel happy about coming back to your hotel room after a hot walk about town, I’d probably choose elsewhere.

Despite some issues, we liked the stay. Hosts are doing a great job. · The host was very friendly and explained us how to get to the historical center by public transport. We had room for two people with a queen-size (not sure) bed. The room had an extremely high ceiling and a chandelier, but the floor was covered with tile which would fall off in some places. There is a wardrobe, a TV and 3 sockets in the room (which is not enough, in my humble opinion). We had a shared bathroom for two rooms (L'Aranceto doesn't have other rooms, as I understood). The stuff tried their best to keep the bathrooms clean and fresh and succeeded in that, I must admit. Towels and shower gel are included but there was no hairdryer, so be aware. (It turned out you could ask the hosts to get it.) There is also a kitchen and garden in the hotel, which look quite cozy. You can buy products in the supermarket not far from the hotel. I chose this wonderfully special ‘home’ to stay in in the heart of Florence for my husband’s surprise 50 th & I couldn’t have chosen a more perfect place to stay for the occasion! The location for starters is spot on , close enough to walk to everywhere but slightly off the beaten track so it’s not too busy at night! Our hosts were absolutely amazing , nothing was too much trouble we were given recommendations for a restaurant for one night which was fantastic, help when we were planning our trip to Venice for the day & breakfast adjustments for me being a vegetarian ! The warmth extended to us whilst we were there was that of being with friends which most definitely added something to our stay, Alessio, Josie & the gorgeous Klajda went above & beyond anything I would’ve expected! The place itself Is like stepping back into 18 th century Florence but with a modern twist to make it truly comfortable & the attention to detail is phenomenal! One evening we came back to a bottle of fizz with two very generous slices of a delicious chocolate cake as a gesture for my husband’s special celebration- it’s the thoughtful touches that make all the difference & this place has those in abundance! Thankyou all for making out stay absolutely perfect! Emma & Bill

There are few hotel staff. I sent an email to the parking place in advance. I didn't reply to it several times. The breakfast is also good, the variety is enough, the service staff is very warm, and his kitchen is always open, you need hot water to burn it yourself, there is juice in the refrigerator, you can use it yourself. The building is very old, the decoration is OK, old but not broken. The feeling of the old city.

Florence Historic Center
I was in Florence for work and booked in Hotel Angelica being a last moment booking I didn't know what to find but all I can say is Fantastic very clean only 1 minute walk from the station room and bed very comfortable and the breakfast was great full of variety. The owner Mrs Angelica is an adorable women helped so much in finding a car hire and she also let me leave my heavy luggage until evening. Everything was perfect much berrer than the 4 star hotels I normally stayed in.
