On entering the hotel were were met with very friendly staff who showed us to our room. As others have observed the stairs are steep, quite normal for older properties in Netherlands. Room was very warm and bed comfy. Plenty of pillows, nice tea making facilities and with recently refurbished bathroom with a really great hot shower. With a very good price it's a hotel I would be happy to stay in again.

I never like hostels, but this was part of an event booking and I'm very glad it was. It was a shared room (there is an option of a self contained lodge), but they did not take bookings for our room outside of our group. Loads to eat for breakfast, outside children's play area, table tennis table, forest walks and for me felt very safe and secure.

Not really in the league of other five-stars, but I'm going with the five anyway because we got such a strong feeling that Petra really wanted to be sure we had a good visit. Also the price was good. After a warm greeting, and advice that we could leave our car right there on the street overnight. We lugged our bags upstairs (not a problem for us, but the stairs are a bit narrow and twisty; Petra carried a couple of bags for us). Then back down to the comfortable lounge/breakfast room to relax. Our room wasn't large, but we had room to unpack, a comfortable bed and a good bathroom. Note the pictures here on TA, though: our room had the angled ceiling over one side of the bed, and if you are two tall people who get up in the night you'll have to be careful. We had dinner at Wilde Pieters, an easy walk away. Breakfast––ordered from a card the previous evening––was delivered in style and was of high quality. So, despite a few things that could be problems for others, we had a fine night.

Beautiful old house, only 6 rooms available ( mother lives downstairs, saw here sitting on the couch next to rollator😉) very friendly staff. We had a room directly under the roof with nice details. Perfect bed. Nice details all over... Breakfast is great, they ask what you want and then prepare it. Perhaps a menu would be nice so you know whats available.

This is a very very good van der Valk hotel. Excellent service, comfortable rooms and the best van der Valk (and I had a few) breakfasts I had, ever. It is situated just near the highway and set up in a very spacious way. It was one of the most appealing looking hotel buildings of the chain I had seen so far. Been there over November and December 2019. Christmas decorations made it look very attractive. One major plus was the fact the building is 'only' 3 stories high, but due to the ground floor sizes, it is quite big. The walking distance to your room could be a bit more of course. But I liked this way of architecture as compared to the taller ones. Wi-Fi was good, Gym/Fitness is spacious, nice view of the inner garden and good quality equipment. The indoor swimming pool also present. Special and very special note for breakfast. It is the most and biggest buffet I have seen so far from them (compared to the seating/hotel size). I won't even go into naming it all, but most positive from my end was the organic and local foods they have. That is really outstanding. Live Cooking and everything there. Very fresh, very good. Again, this is one of my favorites. I always come in late and have to leave early, but every stay was excellent. Will for sure return here, most important is the sleeping quality. Low noise rooms and good beds. Minor remark on the pillows, they are quite 'high' and big, so if you aren't used to that it could result in cramps possibly. But again, all full stars for this place. Well earned

The Hotel is located next to the Royal Palace Het Loo and was until the sixties personal possession of Queen Wilhelmina. Tsar Peter the Great was one of the first guests. The comfortable, spacious rooms are fully equipped. For an evening full of culinary specials and surprising dishes, you are more than welcome in the restaurant. Nice hotel in the "middle of nowhere". I think it can be great to spent your weekend there together with family. You can rent a bike and drive in forest, swim in a pool, go to sauna etc. Room - nothing special. What was good for me - that you can open windows and have fresh air and hear the birds in the morning No shampoo or hairdryer in the room, only towels and soap Some rooms dont have refrigerator If you have heavy luggage dont take a room on a second floor, hard to get up by stairs. Not bad but nothing special Service in restaurant really average

Stayed here for a five day school trip with a group of 30 pupils (eleven and twelve year olds). It was a fantastic experience! The owners went out of their way to accommodate us and the food was superb! Also, the location is great and the facilities are very clean, comfortable and spacious. The hotel is in easy reach of many interesting places to visit in the Netherlands. I would highly recommend this hotel for school trips!
