We arrived at the Campanile Lille east, site was small and very basic, staff very pleasant and the room was clean, it was a one night stop over with no frills. We tried to book a table for the evening meal only to be told that were fully booked . Still be found a small restaurant near by.

Used this hotel chain for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. Easy access. Clean room, maybe a little on the small side but there were 3 men, 3 bikes and a weekends worth of kit. Plentiful supply of towels. Staff very helpful - offered to open breakfast early for us. Several close by restaurants for evening meals. Will definitely keep them in mind for next year.

We had the misfortune to stay here last week as part of an 80'strong contingent of Royal British Legion members attending a historic event in Ypres called GP90. The event took a long period to arrange taking into account 2000 RBL members were making the trip so this will have been booked with Ibis last year I would guess. The entire ground floor was a gutted shell. No ceilings just bare wires. No floor, just conctete and plastic sheeting. There was no bar, no reception, no food serving area and no where to sit indoors. Everyone had to eat outside and had it not been for the food being awful and many, including us, eating elsewhere then there would have been no where to sit for evening meals which were part of the package. Although breakfast was not too bad one guest photographed a cockroach in the bread. Food was served on camp tables. The bar was wine cartons from the cash and carry with beer straight from a barrel under another camp table. The bedrooms were not bad with comfy beds and looked to have been refurbished. They were hot though as temperatures that week touched 30 degrees but not room fans are provided. You could open the window fully in our room as there was no fall from height risk. There was very loud traffic noise from the nearby major road. Ibis did bring in more staff and some looked quite senior but that didn't change anything. What was particularly shocking was the Ibis website still offered rooms even after this debacle unfolded. There was not mention of the lack of facilities and we saw bewildered travellers arrive as we were leaving to check in at the camping table check in with a laptop and a tangled mass of wiring under it. Our trip had set meals with no choice but other travellers will have expected a proper menu. Day ones offering was a piece of fish in sauce with ratatouille. Pudding was a brownie. Day 2 was fried chicken and chips. No salad, vegetables or fruit. ratatouille had another outing another night with the beef bourginion but at least there was a spaghetti option. Very poor all round. We were advised that the management panicked when the work was not finished on time and didn't alert anyone of the problem. Whilst that might be true what I find difficult to understand was that Ibis continued to offer rooms and didn't take the hotel out of service. It was almost amusing to watch the van loads of builders stand and wait around until our coaches left for day trips each day. It looked that there would be weeks if not months of work left to day. Being a group of people in the region for a special purpose, many of them elderly with health issues, we took the farce in our stride.

Eight of us stayed for three nights at this hotel whilst golfing in the Lille area. We chose this hotel since it was out of the town centre (therefore cheaper!) and conveniently located for two of the courses we played. The staff were all very pleasant and friendly, the rooms were comfortable and clean and the breakfasts (continental) were excellent. There is ample parking. The "bar" does not amount to much but keep in mind this is a budget hotel and drinks are available if required. Although the surrounding area does not initially look too promising, l'Office, just over the road, is a good bar to visit and the very excellent Crocodile (another hundred metres or so down the road) is a great place to eat and very good value. All your drinks are included!! We all enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Morphee and would recommend it.

I thought this was very good value for money. Yes the hotel is basic and the rooms are smalll but what do people expect for the price. My room was clean, the staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was good. All together a great base for Paris-Roubaix over a 3 day stay. I would come again.

Looking at the ball, next to the downstairs is the home stadium of Lille; there are Auchan supermarkets and shopping plazas in the vicinity of the walk for ten minutes, many restaurants fast food restaurants; clean mushrooms cool to clean up the room without a tip; stayed for three days, only received One-day parking fee (9.5 Euro), the parking ticket is valid for 24 hours, and can be used multiple times during the period; the front desk is warm and courteous, check out and leave directly (no room card, enter and exit with the password)~

Me and my husband spend 1 night at the hotel, as we wanted to visit Lille and we didn't want to spend much money for our staying. PROS : 20 minutes from Lille's centre, very close to a huge shopping centre, clean room, comfy bed. CONS: Even though the room was clean, it was really smelly (as well as the rest of the hotel) and it didn't have good vibes. Also, the corridors were decorated with graffiti which we found atrocious, as it didn't look modern but rather kitsch. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel but we checked what was included and we weren't really satisfied with the selection and the price. The hotel is situated right next to the stadium, so even though we enjoyed a quite night, it is difficult for someone to rest during game hours. Last, the parking costs extra (10€ for a 24hrs ticket). The price was good but we would have preferred to pay more for something better.

Check in staff were pleasant and kind. Lift to our room. Bar was open but restaurant closed on the Saturday night when we stayed. Room was clean, warm and basic. Memory foam mattress gave a good nights sleep. Breakfast fare was good. Lots of pastries, fresh bread, cheese and ham. Fruit juices and two coffee machines which had long queues and the machine service was slow. As others have stated, it is set in the University area so there is nothing around. It's a 20 minute walk to a shopping centre where we ate. A big selection of food outlets int he centre but quite a walk in the dark. There was a football game on at the stadium which we passed en route to the shopping centre. Fortunately we ate before the crowds emerged from the game and then the place was packed with a long queue outside. Given we were a full coach arriving for the night, we would have thought the restaurant would have been open for us to buy a meal. I'm sure they lost a lot of business by not being open. Would rather stay in a better location but no complaints about the hotel itself - apart from wishing the restaurant had been open for a meal!

Well, what a fabulous place. My family and I recently returned from holidaying in France, staying at the Olivarius on our last night. The evening of our stay didn't start off so great, booking into an awful hotel which was simply unsafe for our three young children. We then searched around for something more suitable and came across this place. Upon check-in we were tired, hungry and fed up, so having a French receptionist/night porter who spoke great English was a brilliant start! The room was clean, spacious and homely. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful. But the best part for us was when we left... When checking out the receptionist mistakenly charged my card, even though my wife had already paid in full through Booking.com (with me not realising). When I realised that we'd been charged twice I emailed the hotel when we were back in the UK, worried that we'd never get our money back. I emailed first thing in the morning and received a reply within 10 minutes! Alex confirmed he'd look into it and get back to me ASAP with an update. That update came 30 minutes later, confirming that they'd realised their mistake and had already processed our refund. The refund cleared the very next day! We've had a similar issue with flight tickets and it dragged on for months - this took just two days. What superb service!! And thanks again Olivarius Apart'Hotel.

Stayed one night whilst touring the area, having booked online the day before. A welcoming hostess made my friend and I very welcome. We sat in the beautifully tranquil garden whilst she turned a large double into 2 singles, which information had not been forwarded to her by the booking site. The garden alone would appear to be a full-time labour of love, without opening your home to guests! A very comfortable room, not over-large but well furnished and with detail given to accessories, including an electric mosquito zapper. Great idea. The view overlooking the garden was a wonderful start to a sunny day. The breakfast deserves 6 out of 5! Home-made sunflower bread, jams and preserves and chocolate tart were delicious. these were complemented by yoghurt, cheeses and fresh fruit. A communal table seating 6 (the property offers 3 double rooms) lent itself to interesting conversation between the South African, Belgian, British and French guests. A real find to which I very much hope to return. Merci beaucoup, Madame deBeauvais!
