0.56km from Ferber-GallieniIt is a nice clean hotel except for the fact that a gift bag worth $50.00 Canadian was taken by the cleaning staff employed by the hotel while I was out during the day. The gift was for my friend’s newborn baby therefore, I was extremely alarmed to see that it was gone when I returned to my room. I got the gift bag back because I confronted the cleaner who had the gift bag on the floor beside the cleaning cart. The cleaner said that she thought it was garbage (A picture of the gift bag is attached. Does that look like garbage?). The cleaner’s statement is very questionable considering the bag was placed on the desk in my room not on the floor or even near a garbage can. If the cleaner truly thought the bag was garbage, one would think that the cleaner would have placed the bag directly into the garbage bin on the cleaning cart instead. I was not impressed with how the situation was handled and I do not recall anyone apologizing for this incident at all. In fact, one manager seemed to be defending the maid’s actions and behaviour. I was told that the cleaner was “busy so she didn't realize it wasn't garbage” and I was told I should have put my things in my closet. When I wrote a letter of complaint, I received no response. When I wrote back again months later I was told that they just received my email and that they were sorry and that they would speak to the cleaner. They are not concerned that I have a friend who lives 20 minutes away from their hotel and that when I visit in the future I will be staying elsewhere. Every time I think of France this incident comes to mind. This hotel has demonstrated that they are not concerned about customer service and hospitality management.
