A 5 day ski break with family and friends made even better by the superb host Pascal and the location next to Cordon slopes. Staff are welcoming, nothing is too much trouble. We had the attic suite which was perfect with our daughter. We woke each morning to the sun rising over Mont Blanc. Breakfast was delicious and the menu offered each evening on half board was of fine dining standard. Combloux for more extensive skiing is approx 5km away. You can walk into Cordon which is a small traditional French village. We had a private transfer from Geneva , approx.1 hour, but would recommend hiring a car. Our little holiday was fantastique and we would most certainly return.

Its your typical bijoux IBIS room, the usual, comfortable bed, enough room for one suitcase, 2 basic bath towels. Clean but when we tried to open the window for some fresh mountain air the window came off its top hinges and almost landed on my husbands head. Other than that the room was what was to be expected. The checkin was fast and efficient and she was very helpful with some directions to a restaurant which wound up being closed. But we were pleasantly surprised by the hotels restaurant which we chose to eat in. Excellent meal, we both had local fish with perfectly cooked vegetables and potatoes. Surprised, yes! And delicious French pastry for dessert. The breakfast included was very good as well. Free parking, Carrefour next door if needed. Typical IBIS, everything is miniature but excellent restaurant unexpected. And the views are free.

I booked a room for a few hours to rest and freshen up on my way to Genoa. I used who have always been really good and very helpful. I paid for the booking when I made it and when I arrived at the hotel, firstly they couldn’t find my name and even when presenting them with the confirmation they still couldn’t find it. Some time later they did find it and immediately tried to charge me a second time for the room. They said that i hadn’t paid and my card wasn’t charged that it was only to hold the room and I had to pay. I explained that what was written in black and white was confirmation of payment but they again insisted that I had to pay. I called and after another 45 mins the hotel agreed that I had paid. At this stage I was over an hour standing outside in the rain and really for the few hours I wanted to doom for (4 to be exact) a quarter of the time had elapsed so I asked to cancel the room. They attempted to cancel without penalties but the hotel that an hour previously said I hadn’t paid were now refusing to accept any blame or liability for their treatment of a client. Ibis I used to think you were a really good brand I guess your staff training budget has hit the floor and guests are now not really guests but walking card numbers. A shame maybe this will wake someone up before more people get treated this way.

We booked on this hotel a family suite judging by being 3 star hotel. But this hotel is far away for being a 3 star. It is a new establishment and was quite clean and the food news stop here. Room was far of being a family suite for four. It was a double room with sofa which I have not a problem if I book so, but booking a suite comes different. No fridge in the room , no hygiene products on the bathroom , no cap for the douce , not a desk , no safe and no place to put cloths and suitcases for 4 persons. Breakfast was mediocre offering a small variety , but ok. No restaurant in this establishment but in the next Ibis budget with a pasta buffet à volonté with only one pasta variety and 2 sauces. For kids the price was fair but for adults no! Unfortunately before checking in here I was in an other 3 star hotel which had all the above and spacious rooms and comforts taking the standard double room and not the suite. Staff was very friendly and one plus is the daily clean of the room. Prices was fair , but advertised as 3star you believe is a bargain but no. For an one night stay is ok. If it was advertised as 2stars then again ok.

Firstly, Megeve has won my heart. Perfect village, perfect nature - the mountain biking and hiking in the Summer months is supreme, and the best gondola is the Rochebrun is a very short walk up the hill from the hotel. (route 56 down from the top of the cable car was an exceptionally fun challenge). I came with my daugher, we had a car - there is parking. (4 hours free + overnight free - but seemed relaxed) and other parking options within walking distance. Recently renovated perhaps, the hotel was stylish for such a small hotel, the restaurant dominates the ground floor, so there's nowhere to sit in the evening for non-eating, but in the daytime, no lunch is served so spread out! The room we had was small, but exceptionally comfortable bedding, great shower, good sized bathroom and really nice woody design. The views are great. Excellent staff, every single person made us feel genuinely welcome and offered lots of helpful tips, so thank you so much. In the age of Covid, this was my first hotel stay, and I really appreciated the effort they Clearly were making all day long to disinfect everything, from door handles to credit card machines. They were taking it very seriously in a welcoming, inconspicous way. Well done! Absolutely will return and recommend. For the price, this was excellent value! Cheers.

We have just returned from a week’s stay at this hotel and would definitely recommend it. We were a group of two families and we booked it as a base for skiing. Location wise, it was an easy drive from Geneva (mainly on motorway) which took just over an hour. It isn’t an actual ski resort, but is in easy reach of several gondolas/chair lifts up to resorts within a 15/20 minute drive. You can park in Les Contamines, St Gervais, Bettex and Clomboux (free of charge) and walk to the first lift. All of these are on the area lift pass and we enjoyed great snow, almost empty pistes and a varied selection of pistes. The hotel itself is as advertised. It is most definitely a family run business and the couple do speak English. Breakfast is a cold buffet with a toasting/warming facility. The coffee was good. We had half board and ate dinner every evening. There was no choice, but they were happy to accommodate any fussy ones amongst us, with a day’s notice. The starters were excellent. Main course was generally a meat dish with a vegetable or salad. There was then a cheese course plus dessert. Wine was available, but not forced upon you, and tap water was free of charge and regularly replenished. The rooms were clean and spacious, with plenty of storage and hot water. The hairdryer worked and rooms were cleaned daily. We occasionally had lunch on the slopes, although France isn’t generally cheap and cheerful, but we mostly bought food from the local supermarkets the previous day and made sandwiches. All the resorts had at least one supermarket (Spar, Intermarché, Carréfore). We used the pool every day after skiing. This was also clean and often empty, apart from us. The jacuzzi was very nice, and just what was needed after a day’s skiing. We also used the games room, located under the Salon, on several evenings. The table tennis was free, you just had to ask to borrow the bats and ball. The pool table cost €1 and the table football cost €0.50. The general atmosphere was very relaxed and we really enjoyed our stay. The only negative isn’t about the actual hotel. We found the town of St Gervais des Bains very quiet and even the other resorts I have mentioned weren’t very lively, so not a place to visit if aprés-ski is important to you. Also, we were caught out on the last day when the lifts in Le Gattiez shut an hour early on Easter Saturday and we were stranded. You could blame our limited French, but several French people, including locals, were also unaware of this. Eventually, a free shuttle bus was sent to our rescue and almost thirty people were returned to their cars in La Cry, Clomboux. A cautionary tale, as one closed lift led to an hour or so waiting and about a three quarters of an hour bus ride!
