Stayed in Rua Al Madinah (formerly named Coral Al Madinah) for four nights solo in a twin room. Due to covid-19 pandemic, this hotel is going through cost-cutting measures which affected its quality such as reduced lighting in the lobby/halls and shortage of staff. However, this didn't have a big impact on myself but other guests might feel affected. I am very satisfied by my visit and can certainly repeat it. Location: The hotel's competitive advantage is its prime location. Probably the best location in town for visitors to the beloved Prophet pbuh masjid, very short walking to Gentlemen's section. It is also located near Al Baqee cemetery. However, it is a bit further from Ladies' section as it require a bit walk (not recommended for older/pregnant ladies). Having this close proximity where one can hear Azan directly from the room and see the Green Dome is such a big privilege. Room: While the room wasn't very spacious, it was indeed clean and tidy. The bed was very comfortable to me as it had hard mattress and two good pillows. Unlike similar hotels in the region, the window in the room could be opened partially to let the blessed Madinah breeze in. Hot beverage kits are replenished day. There was a digital switch to request housekeeping but it proved useless as I kept it ON for many hours and the service wasn't provided until I called. The bathroom is well designed with luxury fittings and digit-controlled rain-shower. Bathroom amenities are good but toothbrush is provided by request only. *There were no hand sanitizer/face masks in room. Service: The hotel offered a good level of service. Housekeeping was inconsistent but overall good. I sense there is shortage of staff and this is understandable due to current situation. Facilities: Big plus for hotel is the vast number of elevators (8 in total), meaning there is less delay in going up or down. I didn't visit the on-site restaurant due to gov restrictions on dine-in. However, I enjoyed the availability of car park and the spacious lobby area. No gym or pool is available but that's not important as I prefer to spend more time in staying at the masjid. Final note: I would like to offer my sincere thanks and regards to front desk staff Mrs. SAMAHER for making my trip unforgettable. She demonstrated the professional and flexible attitude of Madini people. I should definitely stay again in Rua when I visit the blessed city of Madinah in the near future insha Allah. Mohammad F.

To start from the reception, the gentlemen at the reception was very professional and helpful and spoke good English which made our checkin process very easy - thank you Mohammed. Rooms are very clean and tidy and good for families. Location is just 2 mins walk to Haram. Only improvement area would be to have good toiletries as it's very simple and less quality/quantities for a family. Thank you Hilton Madina team.

Easy and thankfully an early check-in, which gave us much needed time to go visit Haram and attend to prayers. I had a 2 bedroom overlooking the haram on one of the higher floors, and it was special. Rooms are generous in size, well appointed with amenities, and 2 baths, which is great when you have teenagers who also need their own space. The hotel was conveniently located to Gate 36 of the mosque (about 8 min walk from door to door) and better for men than women who had to walk a bit further to their entrance. Apparently, the hotel offers shuttle services as well, but we didn't need to utilize it. With government requirements and regulations opening the time we got there, it was getting busier and can only imagine how packed it would be at full swing. Lots of groups and tour buses can be rather overwhelming to get lifts/elevators at times. Plus, with so many nationalities and languages, it was a real treat to try and communicate, so always be patient and have an open mind. Easy to order Uber services or taxi from front of hotel. Starbucks for coffee lovers are also available at lobby. Food/breakfast service was fresh and varied, and we never had issues with the service or the quality. Only issue came into play when I was overcharged at checkin for the room and although I caught it a few hours later and brought it to receptions attention, it took an agonzing number of follow ups and empty promises before it was rectified at checkout. Even then, it was like pulling teeth and nearly made us late for our departure. Although the hotel team tried to be helpful, just bear in mind that the concept of speed and efficiency is not the same as in NAmerica. Overall, I would still recommend this hotel, even as an AllAccor member. I personally wasn't offered any additional benefits which in the grand scheme would not really have made a difference given that we were visiting one of the best places on earth!

Actually every thing is fine and perfect but I noticed that buffet guys and houskeeping are really scared about intercontinental membership assessment so they worked hard then asked if every thing fine to get full mark. ( I hope this assessment to be continued not just now ) There are three issues that cause by hotel management management which are : 1- when I came t called the reception many time to see if there is availability of check in early at 12 or 1 pm because I got 2 old women ( age above 70) but as usual they refuse even there is empty apartment such as I booked ( 3 bedrooms). 2- last 2 night , there is too much noise from above apartment (110) after 10 pm , unfortunately duty manager couldn’t do any thing . He just tell them to reduce noise but this kids increase noise . I told him to give them a warning them if they repeat you can move them out but he told me he doesn’t have authority as intercontinental haven’t have this policy . 3- I noticed that there is no benefit to have membership such as other brand . ( there should check in early, free coffee , check out late, discount %15, one night free every 10 nights booked .” I wrote this because I love this hotel and hope to see it the best hotel in Almadinah . This hotel has : 1 big rooms 2 reasonable price 3 Near Haram 4 big apartment and I thin the biggest around Alharam.

The positives are that the staff at the hotel are lovely cannot fault them, food is okay too. We had the iftar buffet and the options are plenty. The negatives - the rooms are tiny - as in claustrophobic tiny, esp the bathrooms - you can barely move. - the toilets are smelly and have a urine stench all over. I found it hard to ignore it and had to get my room changed (ps they only moved us after pestering them, and didn’t upgrade us. - the carpets in the rooms are dirty too I dont think they’ve been cleaned in the last 10 years at least. Overall, whilst the team are nice I definitely would not stay here again, esp for the price we have paid - having to change rooms, not being compensated for the inconvenience and dealing with dirty rooms. I have to say the rooms might be cleaned at a surface level but it’s very obvious that it’s not done thorough. I expected better esp considering it’s still COVID times. We no had to clean the toilets ourselves to make it habitable. Also in the 4 days we stayed, our room has not been cleaned once, despite asking several times and being promised someone will come. Someone came the night before we checked out at 20:30pm just before I was going to sleep - I had to politely tell him to never mind. So yeah, please don’t stay here! I was deeeeeeeply disappointed, and still annoyed my trip started off this way.

I stayed only one night at Le Meridien while on a tour through the Saudi Arabia. The centre of Medina has only recently been opened to non-Muslims and I am not sure if the hotel is in or out of the area the was previously closed. The lobby is enormous by most standards and the hotel itself is huge with 3 separate wings. It seemed just about empty when I was there. I received an upgrade to a suite based on Marriott status and was sent to one of the side wings where I appeared to be the only guest. It was all a bit eerie. The suite was fairly large with a separate bedroom with ensuite bathroom and a lounge with adjacent toilet so that visitors would not have to enter the bedroom. Not that I had any visitors but it is a nice idea. The bed was enormous with various pillows including down which is my preferred type. There was also a mini fridge and espresso maker. The latter was a life saver with instant coffee only on offer at breakfast as far as I could make out. The bedroom also had a sofa and 2 armchairs and was big enough that nothing seemed cramped. The black out curtains were great which seems to be a standard feature in Saudi Arabian hotels probably to help manage the summer heat. There was a mixture of power outlet types including the standard EU 2 round prong and the UK 3 square prong which was very useful. The wifi was easy to access and okay if not really good. The breakfast buffet was good except for the lack of good coffee. Lots of choices and good quality food. Overall, Le Meridien seems a good choice for a night or 2 in Medina.

I will try and be constructive as possible with this review. We stayed here during the last 13 nights of Ramadan. This hotel caters for large volume of people but, do not have enough staff to cater for the numbers neither does it have good, experienced staff. This was due to Covid, having to lay off many good staff and then not being able to recruit good back, which is very unfortunate. Location – Directly opposite haram so, location is very good. Hotel – The hotel is dated now, and the management know this but, for the past two years Covid has really affected this hotel losing experienced staff and they are trying to make up for lost money which is understandable. The atmosphere is very busy, and the lift situation is not very good. The lifts are very slow and just does not cater for the sheer volume of people using them. Outside of Ramadan, it may not be as busy therefore, the lift situation may ease. However, it does have a Bin Dawood, other boutique shops within the hotel complex and a restaurant that serve Pizzas and fast food. So, there is a lot going for the hotel. Customer Service - Just generally in every department the staff are trying their best. You can see they are overworked and there is just no customer focus. But, they do try their utmost best. Room – When we arrived the room was dirty, not hoovered or cleaned properly. Bits of food everywhere, dust everywhere and we spent the first 20mins dusting the room down. The bellboy then arrived with the wrong luggage. However, the superior room was large, decent shower and small kitchenette area with fridge, sink and storage. Housekeeping – These lads to their best and again they have a lot of rooms to do in a short period of time. I had to ring reception at 9pm a couple of times for them to clean the rooms as not been cleaned during day so, this was an issue and one day I had to physically stand over them to ensure room was cleaned properly. Bless them they did a decent job, and they are generally very nice and accommodating. They try their utmost best but, again overworked. Noise – We had children on the 4th floor causing havoc between 12-2am running around making deafening noises and ringing the doorbells of our room and nearby rooms and running off. These are the parents who are at fault here and shame on you. Food and Beverage – We were told to eat Iftar at Al-Salaam restaurant by reception staff which we did, then we were told we can eat at any of the 4 restaurants, then told we can only eat in lounge which became very frustrating. I had a chat with Moin (Food Beverage Manager) who saw our frustration and accommodated best way he could, and his front restaurant manager Atif was very helpful too. The food was fine, and we were very grateful but, it was very similar each night. Perhaps a variety would make a massive difference but, again lack of staff and experience shows in this department. Overall, it was OK but, needs improving and modernising. Perhaps outside of Ramad
