We stayed here for two nights. The location is about one/half block to bus parking which takes you to the TGV station and runs every half hour. It is about a two block walk to Cours Mirabeau. We didn't have a car but understand there is a parking ramp nearby. The room was clean, the brunch very good and the staff at the hotel was very helpful. We would stay here again.

Traveled with my husband and 18 year old son. Very nice hotel, front of house on arrival wonderful, fabulous welcome and concierge gave us more than enough advise for our weekend. Although we had a lovely family room there were no USB sockets anywhere. I would not give it 5 stars more 4 star hotel, there where a few issues with water damage wall in the bathroom and toilet flush didn’t work but after pointing this out at reception, maintenance arrived in 5 mins and had the toilet fixed in no time. Before leaving on Sunday we had brunch at the Atmosp’r restaurant which was amazing! Service, choice and quality of the food first class! The only bemoan was the girl on service at check out. Although pleasant she was a little out of her depth, all calculations were written on an envelope, and she could not give us a receipt! For no obvious reason! As we were paying with cash it was important that we had proof of payment! We payed in advance for restaurant and it seems that they had not been informed either! A little performance and computer training would help maybe?! It was a shame because all other staff and services were definitely 5 star! We will definitely be returning to enjoy the lovely spa next time and would highly recommend this hotel. Thank you again to all the staff that made our weekend memorable and hopefully the girl front of house Sunday morning will better in time!

The only thing preventing me from giving this hotel a 5 is the noise level. But it was minor. Terrific central location right by the main Fontaine de la Rotonde. The beds were extremely comfortable, nice bathroom with full tub and shower. Very clean and well maintained facility. Reception is one flight up from street entrance with no elevator.Small fridge in the room was a nice plus. Very easy check in and friendly staff. Did not add the breakfast for 13€ as there are many small bakeries in the neighborhood. Would not hesitate to book there again.

This is the second time we stayed here. It's the perfect choice if you wanted to explore the old city and yet to avoid the hassle and bustle especially during the busy months in Summer. The staff are friendly and helpful. Last year when we visited, we watched World Cup in the lobby lounge, staff and hotel guests together. Housekeeping is minimum as it is an apartment-hotel. It's free once a week if you stay 8 nights or more; otherwise, it's paying optional. The room comes with a vacuum cleaner, iron and iron board. There is also a coin laundry with separate dryer at the ground floor. So, this is not an issue to us. We stayed at a Studio for 2 which comes with a equipped kitchenette where you can cook simple meals. Supermarkets (Casino, Monoprix and Carrefour) are all within walking distance. Plus there is a food market which opens 7 days a week, 8am to 1pm at Place Richelme. WIFI and in-room air conditioning runs perfectly well. Black out curtains works magic if you need to sleep into the day. One last thing is if you really need a very quiet room, avoid the ones near the elevator.

The Saint Christophe has an ideal location, a block off the Cours Mirabeau and a five-minute walk from the bus station. We had the deluxe double room for a three-day stay in Aix, which included a huge en-suite bathroom with tub and shower, a separate nook for the toilet, and a balcony with a table and seating for four. Hotel staff we interacted with were friendly and helpful and spoke excellent English. They allowed us to check in early and helped us arranged an early a.m. taxi ride to the Marseilles airport. Service in the lounge/restaurant was hit-or-miss, and there are many better dining options nearby. I liked the art-deco decor of the hotel, although some of the furnishings are showing their age. The elevator is very small and very slow.

Stayed for a few nights , nice looking hotel and great location. first night I arrive I find a dead cockroache on the floor... This can happen and was cleaned away quickly. However the next evening a second live one was running about in the room. When I told the reception I haven't got anything other than "sorry" , and obviously, no financial compensation whatsoever and no word of excuse from management either. The room was clean , so the bug itself these things can happen , but I find totally unacceptable that no one from management bothered to excuse themselves. I only heard back from management days letter through email (when I complained in writing a second time ) , and they only invited me to come back for one night. I was only passing by in the area it was of little use for me. I just want to put it in context:the hotel was very clean in general, and it must have been some kind of sewer problem. It's just the staff and management response (or lack thereof) which I found insulting for the prices of the rooms....

I’ve travelled to Provence with my Mum in June and based in Aix. Hotel Vendome is a small hotel but much more better than most of the 2 star hotels. Rooms are a bit smaller than they appear on the pictures but who stays in the room when you’re in Aix. Other than that it was clean and neat. Wifi connection was strong. There’s AC in the room. Maybe they can put a small fridge or minibar as well. Although rooms are very close to each other there was no noise and the bed was comfy. As far as i understand it’s run by the family and the staff is very helpful and friendly. Max. 8-10 mins walk to city centre, Cours Mirabeuax and other main attractions, and the street you walk is convenient. We were two women and there wasn’t any concerns. We stayed for 4 nights and it’s a good value for the money we paid. I would stay there again.

A lovely little apartment hotel in the centre of Aix, although once you're in your room on your balcony looking at the hills behind it's so peaceful you could be in the countryside! Well apointed for a little self catering break with dishwasher and cooking facilities and it was terrific having a pool on site to use. The room was clean and in good condition. Superb loation just a short walk from anywhere you could want to be in Aix. All the staff we encountered were super helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. The parking was a real welcome bonus and we felt safe leaving our car for the stay (and it was reasonably priced) We will definitely revisit this hotel in the future!

The staff here are either shady, poorly trained, or both. Be sure to check your bill because they charge you for services whether or not you receive them. I specifically reserved a room without breakfast (as is an option when booking online) and yet they charged me for breakfast every day — EUR 34 per day for my wife and me. Then, they charged my credit card before I could see my invoice. When I protested, they went into the register and paid me back in cash — weird. When I pointed out to a manager that this practice — overcharging without letting customers see the invoice — was unprofessional, she seemed entirely nonchalant and claimed that the hotel’s computer systems are to blame. The previous day, my elderly parents ordered a taxi thru the front desk for a Sunday AM pickup. The front desk told them the taxi would cost EUR 45. When the taxi driver showed up, he told me the ride would cost the posted price: EUR 60. How can the employees of a hotel not know the posted prices of taxis? When I pointed out to the woman at the front desk that the hotel gave my parents the wrong information, she completely deflected and threw her coworkers under the bus without offering an apology: “I didn’t say that, that was my colleagues!” These two incidents contributed to the overall feeling that this hotel is staffed by poorly trained university students who desperately need an adult to impose some training, discipline, and professionalism. Or, worse, they are hoping that they can make some extra cash from unwitting foreigners. Other weird, more minor things: 1) no door to the shower, so your bathroom gets flooded. 2) Coffee pods aren’t replaced each day, so you basically only get coffee for the first day. 3) Hotel is about 15 min walk to downtown, which is relatively far in what is a small city. All in all, Aix is a great, walkable city. Just stay somewhere else.

Our room was facing the street, and since the sheets didn't allow any breathing, next to an air-conditioning that transformed the room into a sauna, the only solution was to open the window and spend a night awake with all the street noise. We called the reception regarding the air-co situation, but the response was "this is the winter standard". After giving up on the temperature problem, what's the point of closing windows? No worries, no need for an alarm clock, the trucks from the street market will wake you up as soon as you manage to close your eyes. NO sound proof. All the service effort is forgotten when you can't sleep, which is basic. No next time. We will pick another.

My wife and I were members of a tour group which used two hotels in Aix for a seven-night holiday. We chose the Aquabella because of its location and were not disappointed from that point of view. Just a short walk to the old town and to lots of restaurants, Just as well(!) because the hotel restaurant was a disappointment. Difficult to understand because breakfast was excellent but staff seemed to be poorly trained. On a few mornings there were no cups and saucers on the table settings. When we asked a waiter we were told "the cups are over by the machine." They were, so we helped ourselves but there were no saucers. When we looked around other guests were also drinking from cups without saucers. Not exactly 4 star standard! We had two dinner vouchers from our tour company and were reluctant to use the second as our experience with the first was not good. the veal was tough and sea bass was served in a deep bowl which was both impractical and unattractive. We decided to risk using our second voucher but were again disappointed. This time the lamb was tough but the char was quite good and was served on a sensible plate! Again, staff training seemed to be an issue. "What do you want?" was the approach when order-taking. We enjoyed our dinners much more out in the local nearby restaurants. Such a shame about the restaurant because the comfort of the rooms and location were indeed 4 star.
