We had a wonderful stay at the Goldenes Lamm for Easter weekend 2018. Our room was large, quiet and very comfortable, with a dressing area, couch for relaxing and room for us and our daughter. Beds were comfortable, and we slept well. The bathroom was spacious and very clean, with two sinks and a great shower. The location was perfect, one block from the center of town on a quiet street. It was great to have parking in the village for our rental car. Our hosts were friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was delicious with personal touches and a wide variety of foods for every taste. The restaurant was lovely with a windowed room at the back that I'm sure is opened up for outdoor dining when the weather is warmer (too cold during our visit). It was a nice surprise to see that the Easter Bunny had found us to deliver treats to our breakfast table before we came down! We were sad that our travels did not have us in the restaurant at dinnertime, because the menu looked very good. Next time. Dinkelsbul was everything we expected and more. St. George's for Easter Mass was a highlight.

The town of Dinkelsbuhl is such an authentic & quaint Bavarian town. The Hezelhof Hotel was a most charming hotel & we enjoyed our stay. My thoughts on our stay: -The parking lots a few blocks down. Be prepared to lug your luggage on cobblestone streets & then up the stairs to reception (while the desk staff just stare at you). This is definitely not a handicap accessible hotel. -The hotel is unique & quirky (the wall of Gnomes saluting with their middle finger). It is a very old hotel and the rooms have been modernized to be clean & bright. - The shower was very short, and small for people over 6 feet tall. - There is no air conditioning and the room was very hot. So we had to keep the windows open & it was warm and sticky making it hard to sleep. But it was unusually warm while we were there. -Breakfast was served at the restaurant across the street. It was a traditional European Breakfast. It was very good, fresh & lots of selection. -The courtyard in the back area, with all the geranium window boxes is lovely. -Besides the heat issues, I found this an enjoyable stay and hope to visit again.

This is a restaurant and guest house on the edge of the Schwabishe Alp district outside of Stuttgart. It serves traditional regional meals and is decorated in a regional rustic style. The waitresses and waiters wear regional dress. There are local delicacies also for sale. The service was very good. We did not feel rushed. The portions are generous and very tasty and prepared and presented well. We stuffed ourselves by having an ice cream after an already full main course. The scoops are large so beware. There was a wedding in an adjoining room and the place was full of Germans, which is always a good sign as at first glance it looks like it could be a bit false and touristy. Its mid-priced, but well worth the money for what you get. Would go back again if in the area as it also seems to be of a reliable standard.

The restaurant downstairs and the hotel upstairs are in the center of the town, by the road, but not too noisy. The hotel has no lobby and went directly to the restaurant to ask the waiter to check in. It was a bit uncomfortable at first, and then I found that the whole town seemed the same. There is no elevator in the hotel. Fortunately, the luggage is put in the car, otherwise it will be exhausted to take it to the third floor. The room is very beautiful and very big. After lunch at the restaurant downstairs, the taste is very good 👍

We have traveled the world and this was a huge surprise! Besides being moderately priced, it recently has been refurbished, comfy rooms, great breakfast, most reasonable and great lunch in the town. Seven of us from the U.S. stayed there and Herr Grimm (owner) and full staff (especially Eli) were warm, friendly, helpful and went out of their way to serve us and meet any need. Most were fluent in English. A rarity in old buildings, there was an elevator! It may be rated 3 stars but it was higher than that to us!

We had a large modern double room on the 2nd floor (3rd storey), facing the side street. No lift. There is no air conditioning, but we could leave the windows open as there was very little traffic noise (not least because, although cobbled streets are relatively noisy, traffic goes very slowly!). This was just before Kinderzeche, so there were no late-night discos or serious revellers. We parked, amazingly, right in front of the restaurant area. There are no parking restrictions to be seen (nor road markings, modern shop signs, etc. because of the strict planning regulations, presumably), but the hotel said we could park there until 9am, and after that we could stay for an hour free if displaying a parking disk, which the shop opposite will sell you for €1.30 when it opens—at 9am! The restaurant, breakfast, atmosphere, etc. were great, just not the wifi in Room 12.

We loved the location of our building. The office is a few blocks from the building we were in and we had to ask how to get there to check in. We paid for parking and were glad. The breakfast at their restaurant (a third building) is also a block and 1/2 from the room. We did not find the breakfast to be American friendly in the selections, and was expensive. The room was good for being in an old remodeled building. Clean with good places for clothes. The shower had to have a towel on the floor to prevent water from running into the toilet/sink area. Could use a mirror in the room. Only a small mirror in bathroom. Had an elevator and well lit halls and stairs. Compared to the ten rooms we stayed in across europe near/in old towns, this was pretty good for the price. Only slight problems in the room.

(I posted this exact same review on Google.) Traveled for two weeks in Germany and stayed in five different hotels during our trip. This hotel was by far the best one we stayed in during our trip. The building itself was very old, but the place was recently remodeled and even still smelled new. The room was tastefully designed and decorated. We were able to find free parking right outside of the hotel. (Free from 5 or 6pm until 9am.) The location was perfect; it was inside of the old city walls and just seconds away from restaurants and shopping. The free breakfast was great and included a variety of juices, breads, cereals, meats, cheeses, scrambled eggs, bacon, and coffee. Literally my only complaint is that we couldn’t/didn’t stay there longer. We also stayed one night in Rothenburg. If we had to choose between the two locations in the future, we’d stay in Dinkelsbühl, and more specifically this hotel.

The booking online is smooth and easy. When arrived, a spacous loft with five beds were offered to three of us. Free welcome water and apple, very warm in a dark snowy day. The door keys are a bit tricky but its something to learn about. The breakfast has a variety of choices, plus a freshly made egg and waffle. Warm food inside while watching snowing outside made the stay perfect, especially we come from snow free places. Including the good price, guess it's because of the low season. Free parking is til 11:00am, but wonder if it still matters in such snowy days. Thank you so much for the couple who keep maintaining the two old buildings a lovely cozy and warm place for tourists.

Having had fond memories of this hotel from my stay there about 20 years ago, I was sure to book it for our stay in the amazing medieval town of Dinkelsbühl on our (my wife and I) trip down the “Romantic Road.” We were assigned a room on the top floor at the side of the building facing strong sunlight (27 degrees outside and this hotel has no aircon) even though it didn't seem like the hotel was heavily booked. That also meant carrying our heavy luggage up two long flights of stairs (there is no elevator at this hotel). No one offered us assistance with this. The hotel description mentions a spa with sauna, but when we inquired about this (would have been great since we arrived after a full day of touring) we were informed that this facility is not available. Back to the room… modern, cold design - nothing reminiscent of the word “"Romantic” which was added to the hotel name. No coffee/tea set and no complimentary water. Wireless internet? The one single time we actually succeeded to connect, I measured 50 Kbps only but that didn't last very long…connection dropped after a few minute and we were unable to connect for the duration of our stay. Notify the reception? The line on our room phone was disconnected. When we approached the reception desk before leaving the hotel for an evening tour, it was abandoned and when we returned later in the evening, about 22:00, the hotel was locked, the lights were out and we let ourselves in with the room key. On check out we complained that we were unable to get internet service, but no compensation was offered for this as well as the no spa issue. The breakfast was very good. All in all, this hotel fell far from expectations, and seems to be very weak in ensuring guest satisfaction. Next time in Dinkelsbühl, we will prefer another hotel.

We stayed a night in this hotel summer 2019. When searching for a hotel, we did not know that there was a large concert in Dinkelsbuhl that weekend. This was the only place we could find available and we were a little concerned about the distance to town and, without a cell phone, what we would do if the entry did not work (as in other reviews). In fact, the entry process was really easy and worked well. As a first time, it was a little odd not to have any contact with a reception or host, but worked well. The hotel is modern, minimalist, and looks just like the photos. Our room was comfortable, clean and quiet. We walked into the old town – a pleasant walk. Up-hill on return, but not difficult. Breakfast was not included with the room, but the bakery on the first floor had good options. We would stay again without hesitation.
