      Hotel staff were warm, friendly & helpful at the front desk and breakfast room. Furnishings are minimal yet highly functional and very comfortable. My room was on the top floor with a (narrow) view to the Klarälvan River. It was very quiet and the window let in fresh air which made for a great night's sleep.

      This hotel has a good location i the middle of Karlstad. It is old and worn, with a welcoming reception area-the only modern part of the place. The inner part of the hotel i a claustrophobic maze of corridors with old carpets that give you a headache. The room was spacy but with terrible furniture or lack thereof-we had 2 rooms, both incredibly bad- looking. Bathroom and bed ok but just a small window in a corner-one of the worst rooms l have seen for a long time. Housekeeping staff friendly and used to take care of guests lost in the maze. A place impossible to evacuate in case of fire. Pitch dark dining room. Breakfast is good with a varied spread. Friendly staff there. Reception staff pretty arrogant at check- out. The place is too expensive because of the low standard rooms without real windows. Avoid this hotel.
