1.08km from Fribourg, ChaleyThis hotel is located near the old town of Friborg. It is the most picturesque pretty town I’ve seen in a while. The hotel is a quaint looking older building (which is very unique). It’s certainly not a 5 star luxury hotel but I was grateful for the unique experience of staying In this beautiful little town. It felt as if I was in another time Pre world war. The room was compact but that’s to be expected in countries like Switzerland. The decor was more modern than the outside facade. Neutral Soothing tones. Very Comfortable beds, nice linen and towels. No air conditioning but the windows do open which is nice (except if you are facing the front where there can be a lot of local traffic). Didn’t hear the church bells too often as others have mentioned. The windows are double glazed I believe, so if they are closed there’s not much noise disturbance. Maybe Recommend getting a room facing the back of the property. No views but quieter. The rooms facing the front don’t have spectacular views either but do face the town which I thought was nice except for the loud people walking past and the local hoons driving past. Bathroom was compact but sufficient. Good shower pressure. The one Negative I found was, the bathtub. The shower is in the bathtub which was quite high off the ground and I was petrified I was going to slip and have a fall getting in and out. Quite scary. Didn’t like that at all. And I’m not an old person. Transport around the hotel is excellent with buses that stop close to the front of the hotel that are 5 minute ride to Friborg train station which takes you to anywhere in Switzerland. Or you can take a mice 15 minute walk to the station too.
