|1.96km from city centerWe stayed at the winning post hotel saint chads road. The hotel is in a great location just 2 mins walk from the beach at the bottom of the st. You’re right near all attractions. The room we stayed in was a great size it was really fresh and clean, there was even an hairdryer in there which was great as I forgot mine, the room was equipped with a kettle, iron, travel cot, tea coffee and sugar which you could get whenever we liked. Nice fresh towels and bedding, and a good size en-suite with a shower. Downstairs had a dinning area where you could prepare and eat food, it also had a good size variety of cereals and bread for toast, this was free of charge, thoughout the hotel was very clean and fresh, there was even umbrellas hanging near front door for guests. The owners Collin and daisy were absolutely brilliant and so helpful and very friendly to us, they gave us information on where to go for different attractions. They honestly couldn’t do enough for us they were amazing. we all felt really welcome there, we stayed for 1 week and had an amazing time. We will be staying here again for sure and I would recommend this hotel to anybody 5 ⭐️ s from my family of 6. Thankyou collin and daisy you both amazing

Our room was a bit on the small side but had everything we needed and a sea view. I never normally go to the entertainment but so glad i did i laughed so much and it was singers that were on. |1.66km from city centerThis majestic building is steeped in history which really adds to the enjoyment of a stay there. We had 3 nights B&B with friends and also dined in on one evening. Food was excellent but the real standouts were the friendly, helpful staff. Not only did they help with all our holiday stay requirements they shared the story and history of the hotel - which is almost 150 years old. For an old hotel the owners have done a great job in maintaining the building and it was a warm, comfortable setting for an autumn break. Highly recommended.

|0.98km from city centerThere’s a lot of bad reviews about this place but to be honest at £54 for a family of 4 you get what you pay for. Me and my wife and two sons stayed one night so that we could have two days out round Blackpool with my little boys aged 2 and 4. Yea, it’s a very creepy looking old place. The floorboards are loose and creaking, there’s scratch and skuff marks on the walls and elsewhere. It looks as though it has been neglected for a long time and has fell into disrepair. The beds were clean but the room was very make shift much like most of the hotel. There was that foisty smell you get when damp is present although I wasn’t aware of cockroaches or any pests, there was an amusing moment where we were attacked by a giant black moth whilst trying to life a buggy up the steep narrow steps to our room. As I am terrified of insects I ran and knocked over a fire extinguisher which was propping open a door and accidentally broke my sons plastic potty in half and my wife twisted her ankle. It was hard to sleep on a night as the floor boards were so badly damaged throughout the building that it sounded as though giants were stamping up and down the corridors. The toilet in our room was so small that I had to squeez and contort my stomach around the sink in order to move between the toilet and the shower. When you sit on the toilet you are litraly facing into the sink which is ideal if you have S and D, it’s as though they have converted a really small pantry of cubby hole into a a toilet without an inch to spare. At around 2am I couldn’t sleep for the loud bang bang feet outside so I decided to have a shower. If you patiently wait for the shower to get warm after playing with it for a least 5 minits then the best you can hope for is temperate. It’s just about bearable. Which was ok because it had been very hot and I had a bit of sunburn on my face and arms so the cool was nice. Wouldn’t be any good in cold weather though. We got up early at left around 8 o’clock. It had served a purpose I suppose. I’m going to be kind and give it a 3 stars because despite its dilapidation, I believe the low price reflects the low quality and therefore we got what we paid for. Somewhere to put our heads.

We had breakfast and was excellent choices of hot and cold food and all options very nice. The staff were really friendly and helpful both prior to arrival and during the stay. They arranged things for guests birthday in the room such as banners, balloons and gorgeous flowers. Would definitely stay again. Thanks for a great stay!

|4.21km from city centerWe visited the Carousel in September 2020 to attend a friend's wedding and we were really impressed with the hotel, the room, the food, how spotlessly clean it was and the personal service. September 2020 was during the Covid restrictions so the hotel was quiet so was this a fluke? September 2022 the hotel was much busier but the service and standards were the same as two years earlier. Spotlessly clean, comfortable, plentiful breakfast and very friendly and responsive staff. A special mention to Gemma on reception. On the quieter South Shore it is extremely close to the tram stop and there is some parking and it's free. Had a brilliant time again and will be back next year

|1km from city centerI had to go to Blackpool on business so I went there last week. My friend Kieran booked us in to the Ruskin Hotel for four days. What a surprise wow! When my Aunt and myself arrived we were greeted by incredible reception staff, who upon arrival noticed I had difficulty in walking so the staff arranged a mobility scooter for me at a reasonable rate. The food was delicious, and I actually had my hair washed and blow-dry twice for £15 which was very cheap. The entertainment at night was exceptional. What was a business trip turned into a little holiday All thanks to the wonderful staff at the Ruskin Hotel I'm so looking forward to a return trip. Amazing!

|1.86km from city centerWe have just returned from an overnight stay. We had booked the suite ( coniston). Upon arrival we were quickly dealt with by reception. The hotel is running on a skeleton staff but all were helpful. Our suite wasnt ready but the happily stored our luggage so we could go into Blackpool and would call when it was ready which they did. The hotel itself is in a 10 min walk of the north pier and tower. From the outside it looks a little tired. The main door doesnt work and decor is dated. The suite however was very spacious. It stretched across 5 windows all tower facing with a great view. The only down side to this was the windows needed a good clean. The suite was modern and had 2 bathrooms a dining area a living area and bedroom. It was clean and tidy however there were noticable stains on the carpet and furniture which they had cleaned in the past. But overall was very pleasant. The bath was lovely nice and deep. We only paid 179 for the night when peak charge can be around 300 so i felt at this price it was worth it. The only thing that would of made it better and i would expect if paying top end would be a robe slippers and possible complimentary mini bar. The bed was very comfortable and the addition of a fan was welcomed. However no hairdryer! We didnt eat here as we ate at the beach house (highly recommended and it didnt dissapoint! )At this price point we would return again and plan to in the future.

|3.75km from city centerStayed at this establishment several times over the last few years on a mini break with our grandchildren to visit the attractions of Blackpool. On arrival we discovered that the previous proprietors (Sue and Jim) had moved on and now we have Ally and Allie. We were greeted and welcomed by the new owners, who were very friendly who even carried the children's cases upstairs for us. Our room was comfortable and clean and was adequate for our needs for a few days (3). However, I would like to offer some friendly non-critical advice that may be of benefit in the future. 1. Breakfast: I would expect that majority of hotel guests that stay would like an option of breakfast during their stay, which the previous proprietors provided and to a very high standard. Also, a breakfast that caters for everyone's dietary needs and preferences, without going into too much detail and I completely respect and understand your reasons for not serving certain food. When I enquired about ordering breakfast, I was informed that only vegetarian sausage would be served, and no alternative i.e. bacon/sausage would not be served and unfortunately the chef was off sick, I'm not sure if this would have made a difference. However, you do state in your house rules that guests are allowed to consume takeaways in the dining room. 2. Bar area, this is now off limits and is home to your lovely dog. I think most guests whether travelling with children or not would appreciate an area to chill and relax at the end of the day or just catch up and have a chat with other guests or watch some TV as an alternative to sitting in their room on the bed. Also, most people with families don't want to stay out too late and have the option to return back to the hotel and have a Tea/Coffee/soft drinks and snacks available and maybe an alcoholic beverage for the grownups in the lounge / bar area and feel comfortable in the surroundings, and have an option of a separate area to do it. 3. Towels, although I had to request towels as there were none in the room, and was told on the last day to ask if we needed anymore just ask, we did manage, I do usually pack my own but on this occasion I forgot. I also think the little bottles of toiletries are a genuinely nice touch. I do think your towels need upgrading, one had holes in it, and they do look quite tired and worn. 4. The cost of the stay was more than previous years, which I completely understand the reasons for with the general inflation, but we didn't want room only we wanted the extra facilities such as breakfast and the option of the bar area. Our loyalty chose Ocean Bay Hotel and after researching since my return home I have discovered for the same price or less we would have had all the options and amenities we required, (breakfast / lounge bar / children's entertainment). In other establishments. I feel that it would be better to forewarn guests of the changes made so that they can make up their own mind and choose accommodation

The rooms are amazing, clean and spacious. Great for kids with the bunk beds and individual TVs. The food is excellent and nothing is too much trouble for the staff. Parking all day for £10 and tram stops within a few minutes walk.

Fantastic.. quirky.. exceptionally clean.. rooms nice and big.. comfy big bed.. the English breakfast was made with the best produce and plenty of it .. came away with a full belly... our hosts wr so very helpful and friendly... OK no sea view here but who cares its only a little 2 min stroll to the sea front ..... and a couple of minutes to bars and centre of Blackpool.... free parking for 5 cars.. which we managed easily.. but there's plenty of free street parking near by with no restrictions.... absolute gem of a place 👍👍👍

Breakfast was well yummy and just what you need after an evening in their bar. Teddy Boy Tim is a fantastic host singing shawaddywaddy, shaking stevens and other songs in his cellar bar in the evenings. There's a pool table too. Highly recommend. We look forward to returning.

Yes it’s on a busy noisy road but for the location what do you expect people??? Bed and pillows are comfier than my own, kinda jealous. Both times I had the best nights sleep I’ve ever had. Even my partner slept perfectly and he has insomnia. First time granted I’d had a few drinks but second time I was sober. It’s the perfect location for literally everything! And for it only being maintained by 3 staff who cover multiple hotels. They need to know what a cracking job they are doing. Ignore the numptys on here 😅 Will most definitely be back!

|1.38km from city centerEverything adequate for the price. But then within a few hours of leaving, my card had been charged £80 by the hotel & I received an email saying a bed was damaged in my room. No pictures or details provided before the money had gone. There was no damage to anything in the room. The ‘proof’ of damage followed, an undated, untimed picture in an unspecified room where there was clearly maintenance going on. Foxhall unhelpful on communication, told to go through Booking.com which I have been doing for the past 11 weeks, which is a laborious process.. Now have written confirmation from Booking.com that any damages were not because of my stay. I had to get a refund via my bank. They also advised Foxhall had set up the charge as recurring which was very unusual, so effectively could process transactions at will. Had to cancel my card immediately, on banks advice. Foxhall probably think at an amount like £80 & sending people through the painstaking Booking.com customer services that people won’t challenge it, but I couldn’t be ripped off like that because I had caused no damage. All very dodgy. Better off just going elsewhere to save all the hassle.

|2.37km from city centerWe have been visiting the Cliffs on a regular basis for over 20 years. We stayed all inclusive this time Monday to Friday. Room 303, corner room with a double and single bed. Clean, everything you need. Plenty of space and a view up towards the tower and can see the sea too. We arrived before check in. Left cases in reception and went into Blackpool centre on the tram. A weeks travel ticket for all trams and buses is really good value. When we got back to check in our cases had been put in our room 😁 Can’t fault anything. Vicky was our waitress who did a fabulous Job. There’s something for everyone food wise and our party ranged from 14 to 75 years with no complaints 😃. Help yourself buffet for starters and dessert. There’s a choice of 3 main courses and if you don’t fancy anything then have something from the kids menu or go back to the vast array of hot and cold starters. Breakfast is self service too and again there’s lots of choice. Self service for tea, coffee, juice and toast too. Used the pool everyday. Clean, well managed and professional staff. Lovely bar staff, well stocked and clean bar. Good selection of all inclusive drinks. Entertainment was good. Lots of new singers on this trip. Seen the comedians a few times and know their acts however they are still funny and entertaining guys. Bingo every night. £6 a book. Housekeeping only on Tuesday and Thursday. If you needed anything just ask reception. Reception staff were all lovely and nothing was too much trouble. My car had been parked down the side of the hotel, left keys with reception. On departure they’d moved it to the front of the hotel 😎 Looking forward to our next visit in September for a weekend and see the illuminations. Next visit after that will be New Year. Some of the decor is a little dated however this doesn’t detract from the fabulous week we had. Good atmosphere, great value, excellent customer service, feels safe, handy tram stop. Absolutely fabulous weather everyday ☀️☀️☀️😍 We went to the circus in the Tower. VIP front row seats we fabulous. Look up the reviews for it. In my opinion it was brilliant.

|2.15km from city centerWe arrived early but were able to park up and go exploring before coming back to check in. Car parking was just £5 a night so not going to grumble with that. On our first night we were the only guests and once we were checked in we were the only people in the whole building until breakfast which seemed strange but was t a problem. We were just told to call a number if we needed anything. The room itself was clean and a good size with a good comfortable bed which we slept pretty well in. The tv was a good size but it was hit or miss whether you could use streaming sites on it as the Wi-Fi was quite poor. For the majority of the stay I was unable to use my phone as the signal in the area was also terrible. We were in a good location but if we would definitively recommend getting the tram tickets as the nightlife is limited in the immediate area. There was nothing going on in the hotel and although the booking info didn’t promise anything, for a £100 a night you might expect a bit more. Facilities wise we had a kettle but only two small cups and no glasses. It was also a surprise not to have spoons, just throw away stirrers. The room was also quite warm and despite having the windows open for the whole of our stay it felt difficult to get air into it. Might be be being fussy but again for £100 a night I expected a bit more. The hosts were pleasant enough but we barely saw them. The lady we saw a little more of but mixed us up with other guests on occasions. Breakfast was not until 9am and if I’d read more reviews I would not have booked our stay. I don’t think it is unreasonable to start breakfast at 8am for example. The cereal tasted as if it had been in the dispenser a little longer than it should have been. With the cooked breakfast it was budget but tasted better than it looked. On the whole I’d say it was a nice stay but no more. I’ve stayed in much worse places, particularly in Blackpool but I would not book again. Some of my reasoning is down to personal choice as I think I’d rather stay somewhere that provides entertainment and more of the holiday experience which can be achieved for a similar price to what we paid.

Arrived around 7pm and was quickly served by a lovely lady. Our room was allocated very conveniently at the top of the stairs (room 1) I highly recommend it. It was stunning!! Sooooo much space, it was crazy and the bath is huge with a separate bath and shower! Could have done with a few more towels but not the end of the world! Comfy bed and full length mirror on the wardrobe! Tea and coffee facilities and even a little mini fridge. We couldn’t complain at all and will definitely be back! If I had one complaint It’s only that when someone rings the bell to get in you can hear it but that is literally my only issue! I also work hotels so do think it’s made me fussier but I had no issues what so ever!

|1.66km from city centerWe were dissappointed in the car parking situation. It wasn't exactly made clear that you need to drive into where it was marked exit and press for them to lift the barrier. Then unfortunately there was no room so had to call into reception to find out where we could park it was a bit stressful and could have been avoided. The hotel itself is very secure as you need to press for access to the entrance. Once up to reception on the first floor we were welcomed and allocated a room. The room was very tired with marked and scratched walls and ceiling. The bathroom had all the ususl facilities but a great big crack was in the tiles on the floor about two and half feet long. The shower head was dirty and the bottom of the main door was peeling away. The bed was two single mattresses put together which were obviously well used and meant there was a bump in between which wasnt very comfy. The bar was expensive for drinks and the staff seemed to multitask serving and cleaning tables etc. Some of the same staff were at breakfast and it just felt a bit overall short staffed. The breakfast itself was adequate but basic. We did notify reception on checking out of our findings as we are not usually ones to complain but the issues do make a difference and some just general maintenance.

It’s a great location half way between the pleasure beach and the centre, walking places is a must as the parking situation in Blackpool in general is a nightmare. The room is basic but clean, has all you need, shower was always nice and hot. Downside was the mattress was a bit on the soft side and the Wi-Fi isn’t great. We were unable to find a decent cafe, stick to maccies or the Wetherspoons for breakfast as it turns out there far worse breakfasts around.:
