2.36km from Gallery On The EdgeThis place was great. The hotel was undergoing renovations while we were there and while the staff warned us about it, we never heard anything. The renovations looked great and our room was one of the finished rooms. My traveling companion and myself both really liked the room we had. The renovations serve the hotel well. What really made this hotel stand out was the staff. We interacted with many different staff members and it’s evident that management must be doing something well. The front desk staff were always cheerful and happy to help in any way they could with any request. If any question or issue arose (we had zero issues), the staff handles everything very quickly and will follow up later on to make sure all is well. Deborah certainly embodies customer service and she truly made our time spent in Orlando better than expected. She made us feel like family and my companion and myself chatted with her every morning—her personality is perfect for her job. She is a very hard worker and one evening I watched her bounce between working the front desk and being a server at the café. She did it with ease and without complaint. She is wonderful and is an asset to the property. The sweet and kind ladies at the bar were also great. Both Maria and Debra were appreciated by us during our stay. They remembered our drink order every morning and would start to work on our order when they’d see us enter the lobby each morning. They were always smiling and would inquire about our plans and would offer insight on places to eat or things to do. The two also learned our names quickly and would ask each of us about the other when we were not together. It felt sincere and I appreciated their hospitality and kindness. I also talked to the manager there. I don’t recall her name, but I do remember that she had been in the Marriott family for a number of years. She was fantastic and funny and we both liked chatting with her every time we’d see her. A staff member mentioned to me that she admired the manager and respected the way she treated everyone…and it shows. There was another manager I spoke with (perhaps he was the business director?) and he was also very gracious and validated how outstanding his staff is. All in all, should I find myself back in downtown Orlando, I’d be happy to stay here again. I really liked how this place operates and how much I actually felt like I was part of their family. I find that not many places take the time to make their guests feel the way I did while staying here. I stay at a wide range of hotels for my job and this place stood out on many levels. Even at mid-to-high range places, staff are certainly helpful, cordial and kind, but this Courtyard gives the more expensive places a run for their money. I hope the staff gets rewarded for all the hard work they do and the level of customer service they deliver. Keep up the great work!
