Good location - clean hotel. Easy to get the train there from Brandenburg Airport.. go downstairs to the trains, buy a ticket from the machines (which are available in English and less than €4 one way), remember to validate your ticket in the little red date stamp machines next to the ticket machine. Look for the S9 (which went from platform 5) and about 40-45 mins later you are at FriedrichStrasse. From the station the hotel is a 5-10 minute walk across the river spree bridge. Staff were nice, maid service daily. Didn’t use the bar or restaurant so can’t comment on them. Rooms were compact but had everything you need…. Hairdryer, loads of plug sockets, tea and coffee making facilities (which was topped up daily) and the shower had a multi-purpose soap / body wash in. TV was working but only found 2 English channels and they were news related however the free Wi-Fi is good enough that we could watch Netflix on our tablet without any problems. The hop on - hop off nearest bus stop is about a 15-20 minute walk away and my mum has mobility challenges…. However we found a flyer in the hotel leaflet stand in the foyer and called them - we got a private tour for 3 hours and picked up from the front door… for €2 each more than the bus…. Bargain! It was brilliant, I would highly recommend it. The guide was called Guy and very funny and knowledgeable.
Although I stayed at this property many times in the past, it was not until now when I felt the overall experience was worse than ever before. After the incompetent check-in where my assigned room did not meet my expectations, nor my preferences and status were taken in consideration, I was given another room on the 7th floor which after refurbishment got smaller and simpler. The TV did not have any Spanish channels (in a Spanish hotel chain!!) there were no amenities in the bathroom, no complimentary water nor welcome gift that platinum members get already placed in the room. All those were provided on request (2x) which I didn't like it, as in high end hotels those should be there no matter what! The bed was the best thing in the whole hotel and I slept well! The housekeeping took ages to do the stuff that they were asked to do several times or they didn't answer the phone. The room was not properly cleaned either (hair in the bathroom, missing soup or dust on the bedroom desk) and other hotel staff knocked on the door even when the "no disturb sign" was on!!! The Level lounge experience was rather disappointing and lacked of basic customer attention, not to mention that there was nothing to eat during day hours, not even fruit or nuts! (1100-1500, 1700-1900) Although I addressed those issues at the beginning of my first day, nothing changed. I was promised gluten free bread and some eligible snack due to my allergen needs but they never arrived. and when I enq Not everyone can visit the lounge during 15-17 and 19-21 hrs. when they serve some cold and hot snacks! The staff there were not collaborative at all, some of them with language difficulties... In many occasions the cook was absent so the orders were not prepared or one needed to wait for over 20'. The breakfast was great and the scrambled eggs were fantastic, maybe I could overlook a long wait The young waiter at breakfast and the lady with glasses a few hours later were both helpful and professional and made the Level experience a little better. The check out was caothic with wrong billing. The three ladies at front desk instead of saying sorry and arrange the error quickly and efficiently, didn't even assume their fault and gave silly answers. They even didn't bother to remove the city tax which I was eligible for. The only member of staff who went beyond and tried to accommodate me was Mr Niyazi from reception to whom we had already spoke via email before arrival. He was positive and empathic with professional approach and nothing was too much trouble. For that I thank him and because of this, I rate this review with 3* iso 2*.I suggest the hotel Management (if it exists) to start working hard if they want to keep their jobs and their customers!
I recently had a conference at Eurostars Hotel in Berlin and had the most amazing experience! Rooms are very clean with a modern and relaxing vibe. Beds and pillows are very comfortable with just the right amount of firmness. Showers have spa-like features complete with the waterfall and body spray water system with strong water pressure! Above all, the staff here are extremely kind and helpful! Shout out to ERVIN, the Food and Beverage Manager at this location! Not only did he do an excellent job taking care of everyone in the conference, but also went above and beyond even after the event. I extended my stay at the hotel after our event for 2 more days. Coming from the US, I wanted to explore Berlin and met up with my sister and nephew who flew from Milan just to see me. Ervin made sure that we were very well taken care of and even surprised us with an exquisite fruit basket with champagne as a welcome for my sis and nephew to Berlin. Overall, it has been a wonderful experience and I will surely come back and stay with them again! Note to the management of EUROSTARS BERLIN: Ervin, your F&B manager, is truly a one of a kind employee! He is a rare find and definitely an asset to your organization. He deserves to be recognized for his phenomenal people skills and excellent work ethic! Keep up the great work! 😊
We stayed at NH Collection Berlin Mitte Friedrichstraße the first week in April. Each night we enjoyed a night cap and/or dinner at the bar. That is where we meet Elli! Super lady! She worked quick, accurate with all our orders, very entertaining and we looked forward to chatting with her each night. She will always be one of the Best things we found in Berlin! Thank you for making the pink elephants, black beer and yes the salad our son at each night. When our son twisted his ankle, she was quick to assist us with making a bag of ice. She is a great employee, and a great representation of Berlin! Thanks Elli!! The Grizzell’s!
This hotel is very small but in a great location. According to the train station, it is 1 kilometer. You can borrow your luggage and get a taxi for 7 yuan. There are a lot of breakfast shops nearby, and the gray is always delicious. It’s great to wander outside during the day. A few hundred meters away is the Medical University of Paris, and it seems that there is also the Max Planck Institute of Biology (I am not good in German, it seems to be). Close to the gates of Bradenburg, you can walk to the Houses of Parliament (remember to make an appointment in advance). There are too many places to watch under the Bodhi Tree Street, Humboldt University, the German History Museum (with Chinese phonetic explanations), and countless beautiful buildings. And all this doesn't have to go too far, all around the hotel. So even if the room is small, it’s worth it.
Boasting excellent transport connections, this 3-star Superior hotel in Berlin's Mitte district is set in a side street behind the Friedrichstadtpalast musical theatre, just off the historic Friedrichstrasse. The non-smoking Dietrich-Bonhoeffer-Hotel makes a perfect base for exploring the German capital. You can walk to the Museum Island, Brandenburg Gate, Hackescher Markt district, and Unter den Linden boulevard within 20 minutes. The Charité university hospital is a 14-minute walk away.Use the tram, U-Bahn (underground), and S-Bahn (city rail) links on the Friedrichstrasse to travel throughout the city.Relax in the Dietrich-Bonhoeffer-Hotel's modern en-suite rooms, and take advantage of the free Wi-Fi internet access.Start each day with the hotel's rich breakfast buffet. Delicious coffee and cake are served in the bright foyer, while the Angelus restaurant will treat you to hearty Brandenburg specialities featuring select organic produce.
We are a couple who travels a lot, all over the world; we stay always in high quality, reliable hotels. Now we were misled by the promises from website of Maritim Berlin. Our expectation was far higher than the reality. We stayed from Wed to Saturday in March 2022. We chose the Maritim because of its promises on its website. Only good thing which was realized was the location in the downtown. Rest of the promises were not met. When arrived there, the queues at the front desk were long and slow. Only two persons working at front desk, the other one with unhappy “East-German” attitude. The long queues and slow Front Desk seemed to continue during all our stay every time we went by the Front Desk. We were told during the check in that the Sauna, advertised in the website, is in repair and no knowledge when is it finish. I do not think so. I know when I am lied to. The sauna was not in repair. Even if it was, would it be too much asked to mention this on your website? The AC was off; we were told that because of the cold weather. At nights it was around 0 deg C. What do you do when it is much colder? The ventilation was on minimum or off, so all steam in the bathroom stayed in long after the shower. Also during the nights, the room air was hard to breath because of the low ventilation. For the steam problem, we were advised to have window open. Interesting and bad suggestion. On Friday our room was not cleaned at all. Called Front Desk and after long talk a lady came to our room, emptied rubbish bins, changed the towels and did nothing else. No apology from anyone. When in the evening I tried to watch TV and change channels the remote didn’t work, called the front desk and they said, come here downstairs to get new batteries. I was astonished for this suggestion! At late hour I need to get dressed and go downstairs to repair their wrongdoings! Just anther proof of bad attitude and extremely bad management of the hotel. If I was the General Manager of the Hotel, I would not be proud of my hotel, of my work or of my staff. Because of all this above, we will not come back to Maritime Berlin Mitte. We will never recommend this hotel to others either
This hotel/hostel is centrally located near the Reichstag and Berlin Hauptbahnhof (central train station). I paid for and got a single bedroom with shared bathroom. One of the biggest reasons you should stay for is the location. If you're coming from Berlin's Tegal airport just take the TXL bus and get off at Karlsplatz. If you're coming from Berlin Hbf (main train station) take bus 147 and get off at Schumannstr. It was warm in Berlin the day I arrived and walking into the small room with no AC had me thinking whether or not I would cancel and book a room at a more expensive hotel w/ AC. I decided to give it a chance. At first I was unable to located my room due to jetlag and one of the pleasant staff went out of his way to help me find it. He also assisted me in bringing me a working fan along with an extra pillow. I cannot say enough about the people that work here. They are so friendly and helpful. I've had plenty of salty attitudes at budget hotels around the world but not here. It's clear they want their guests to enjoy themselves and be comfortable. My room itself was small and basic, but adequate. There's clearly a funky vibe with an emphasis on the arts as the name of the hotel indicates. There was no TV so I think next time I would upgrade to one that included one. As you've probably already heard the hotel is literally right next to the train tracks. Personally I find the sounds of the city relaxing and rhythmic but the noise could be a problem for light sleepers. The bed was on the firm side which could bother some people. I did wake up with a stiff back the first morning but it probably had more to do with all of the sightseeing I did the day before. The bathrooms are shared but EXTREMELY clean. I mean spotless. One should bring a cheap pair of sandals regardless though. Breakfast is next door at the Habel am Reichstag. If you purchase the day before there's a discount. (about 11 euros at the time of this review) You'll grab a small ticket from the staff that you'll hand to the waiter of the restaurant. Simple process. The offerings were plenty and well worth the money. Very tasty apple juice and coffee too. All in all it was a decent stay. Kudos once again to their terrific staff.
Cool hotel with excellent staff! We were lucky enough to get a room on the fourth floor, definitely recommended as it offers a view, sunshine and cool air. Comfy beds and the room feels airy and fresh despite being the average small size these rooms are. There are some wants - room service and international channels would be grand, and bigger towels. The breakfast leaves some to want and you are better off visiting one of the many cafes in the area. A cheaper and better option. That being said - we enjoyed our stay and massive compliments to the staff!
The hotel is right at the entrance to the U7 underground station, which is good. However, I find the policy of extra fees appaling. The room was fully booked upfront online and when checking out I was asked a weird question what the nature of my visit to Berlin was (!). Does anyone has the right to ask me about it? What if I do not answer this question? And as it turned out, "Holiday/private/leisure/visiting friends/sightseeing" are the answers which mean you will have to pay extra EUR 3,18 for nothing. Does a private trip mean that I use the room EUR 3,18 "more" than on a business trip? Does the hotel want to punish those on "private" trips and tell them "Do not come to visit Berlin or you must pay extra"??? Ridiculous policy. Not coming to Berlin, next time I will choose places where I am not punished because I am not on a business trip.
Location is awesome. It's almost like living in a park atmosphere. Lots of walking trails nearby, close to downtown and most of the major tourist attractions, but still in a quiet area. Public transit is readily available (bus stop right across the street, and several trams within short walking distance). Front desk staff were incredible throughout our 5-day stay there -- from check-in to check out. As we were in Germany to assist a family member, ours was more like a working holiday than a relaxing one and although our personal circumstances were seemingly constantly in flux, the staff were EXTREMELY courteous and helpful in adapting our reservations several times. The hotel is very clean and well-maintained. There is a nice beer garden in the back where you can get an early start on "the German experience", but don't worry about all-night partying or rowdiness...it closes around 9:00 p.m. so, even though we had a room right above it, the noise was never an issue. Rooms are well-soundproofed so getting a good night's sleep was never a problem either. I would give this place more stars if possible, primary due to the outstanding staff and service provided during our stay. This will definitely be our "go-to" place whenever we are in Berlin.
Ocak (January) was a very pleasant surprise for our 4 days stay in Berlin. My wife’s criteria for choosing it was the bath tube and the private parking. And as we arrived we realized that was a wonderful choice. The rooms are spacious, queen size bed comfortable (much appreciated the extra pillows), more than decent wardrobe, a small kitchenette that we didn’t use, cozy living area and a generous bathroom with a pretty big bath tube. Everything clean & tide. Also a safe is available for your valuables. Parking place was the other surprise. As we were traveling all the way to Finland, our car was loaded with luggages. And Ocak has a perfect safe place in the i underground parking in which the access is done by elevator (the whole process takes about 4-5 minutes). The elegant restaurant was the perfect place for the variated breakfast (delicious and fresh). U fortunately it was not opened for dinner, and same for the bar (that had a good selection of drinks) because of the Covid situation. In less that a km you will find restaurants, a shopping mall and also a train and underground train station which makes the access to the touristic attractions (plenty) l very easy. We were delighted to find out that the hotel is owned by a turkish living in Berlin (and you can see in this in the attentions for details, architecture and guest oriented attitude) and that the employees - extremely helpful, kind & friendly are also turkish (delighted as Turkey is our souls home country, and if Covid kept us away from it, Ocak did a great job to makes us feel a little bit like being there). If there is something more that I would like from this hotel, that would be a balcony (as a smoker) and a minibar. But this won’t keep us away from returning here very soon and to highly recommend this wonderful location. Thank you Ocak for existing and for making us feel like home!
So here's a property that aspires to be a JW (ha!). Management should first spend time at one to know what a JW is like. Despite a prominent Bonvoy Elite sign, there's a single (one lone) agent checking everyone in, and there were 5-6 groups around 2pm on Fri 3/25. When I simply asked to be checked in quickly (up since 5am), the agent said she's also up at 5pm, she's also tired, and she has to work all by herself (the constant talk back). To make up for it, said agent did upgrade me to a suite when one became available 2 days later. I chalked it up an overworked staff who tried her best. I was offered a small meal at the Bar each evening (they didn't have an M Lounge). Each and every night, this would be a long drawn out 2-3 hour out affair. The Bar is sometimes busy (mostly bar/drinking patrons) but even on an evening when I am clearly the only person ordering food, it would take 90-120 minutes for it to be delivered. I should add that it's a daily menu and the kitchen simply needs to warm and plate it! On one occasion I had to ask for my food to be delivered to my room because I had 10 mins to eat before a late conference call (with Australia). On my last evening, I finally spoke with the Bar staff only to be met with more excuses and talk back (this seem to be a recurring attitude here). The older lady is particularly good at it, "can't you see we are busy...." I haven't said anything on the first few nights because they do have an outstanding staff (Samantha) who truly exemplifies a JW. I had asked to speak to a manager (they promised me one will contact me) and I am still waiting. Now, I can see why they don't want to speak to guests. I've since checked out and my subsequent stays at other Marriotts have already been posted to my Bonvoy. I am still waiting for this "JW" Berlin to post my stay (despite an email reminder) and for a manager to contact me! Truly, I wish this JW the best of British luck!
The location is good, it is very convenient to go to various attractions, and you can walk or take public transportation. Shopping around is very convenient. Reception front desk and doorman service are very good and very polite. The hotel's decoration style is more ancient, and it doesn't matter if it is different from person to person. It is difficult to comment. What the individual doesn't like is the breakfast mode provided by the hotel. The buffet style on the table is only a small variety of bread, butter, cheese, sliced meat, a little fruit, a little juice and so on. Any omelet or egg, or sausage, or hot vegetables, must be ordered in a variety of language menus provided by a single door. Although the speed of serving after ordering is OK, the taste is average and even disappointing. The taste of the drink is average. The overall feeling of the hotel's breakfast quality is not worth the price it sells. In particular, if you are accustomed to eating a self-service rich breakfast, you may not be able to adapt to this breakfast mode.
This place is fine, but not great. You can certainly do better, but I also wouldn't advise against it. I personally would stay somewhere else next time. Pros: Good location, lots of good food and drink in the area. Good transit connections. Clean Reasonably priced Good use of space, some clever designs for the kitchen area. Nespresso machine and water boiler are provided, but you have to provide your own capsules, which are available at reception, though probalby cheaper to just buy on your own. Cons: Ironically, we chose this place because having AC was important to us, knowing that it can get quite hot in the summer. However, it was barely functional. The reception never responded regarding the issue. We mostly slept with the windows open, which leads to the next con. The street is extremely loud. Constant sirens. Lots of traffic. There is also a hostel across the street with loud people outside well into the night. The couch was uncomfortable as well as the pull out bed. The bed was pretty comfortable but something about the mattress protector felt not very breathable, so that was uncomfortable for temperature regulation. The rug did not add anything to the room and it also didn't fit the space so was folded up along the wall. I would have preferred it to not be there. There were no bowls in the cabinet. We asked reception for some, but they never gave us any. There were also no clear instructions about who is responsible for cleaning dishes. No sponges, dish soap, dishwasher soap, etc. Housekeeping did load the dishwasher on the days that they serviced, but we didn't have our room serviced every day. If you are working normal hours, that interferes with the hours that housekeeping will service the room, so you have to plan to leave for some time, but it is unpredictable. The laundry room was kind of disgusting. It smelled strongly of mildew and there is only one washing machine. It takes forever as well, assuming the machines are even available. Waschsalon down the street was a much better experience. Reception was not particularly friendly or helpful. Every interaction I had was disappointing in some way. No table/desk for eating/working.
I am a guest of your's. I am very happy here. I sing highly of your service.
First of all, the hotel is so beautiful. It looks like a garden. I enjoy it.
Then, foods are delicious and some of them are amazing. Most important reason
is that the bed is so big and soft that I don't want to get up every morning.
It's wonderful here. I can't believe it that I must leave. I want to live here
again if I come to this city again.Thank you.Sincerely yours a guest.
The hotel booking was made in advance as it was the close to the conference venue. However, it was not a convenient walking distance. There is no parking at the hotel and all luggage has to be carried from the public parking lot opposite to the hotel. Here the parking lots are extremely narrow making it difficult to unload luggage. No assistance is offered by the hotel staff to unload the luggage despite three staff being present at the day of check in. The hotel does not have an in-house laundry service contrary to what is advertised on the website. The hotel rates provided were not competitive to conference delegates as booked by HRS. The hotel lifts are rundown and shabby. The carpets and rooms and curtains and toilets are unclean and unpleasant. For two days I had to complain of foul odour in the corridor and lifts. This after a tiring day at the conference was unpleasant. Some of the nice things about the hotel are the proximity to the CityCube for the conference. The staff at the kiosk in the hotel are friendly and serve a few hot snacks and drinks. The breakfast on level 8 is served well and the view is pleasant. Overall I had to check out a day earlier as the hotel staff were unable to resolve the foul odour issue. I was offered free breakfast, however, I refused the same as inadequate and inappropriate redressal of the issue. No suggestion was made to offer a change of rooms till the matter was resolved. This was most inappropriate to force a guest to stay for two days without adequate amenities. I hope that the management can deal with this issue appropriately. Betlin as a conference host needs to upgrade standards of respect to guest delegates.
We bought the holiday through the Wowcher mystery holiday. On arrival we was given a room which had 2 single beds even though we had specifically booked a double room. We spoke to the receptionist who advised us there was no double beds in the entire hotel, which was a lie. I found out once we were home from a friend who recently stayed there that the hotel does have double beds, so for 3 nights we had to sleep on pushed together single beds and falling down the middle. The room was really warm with no air con, so we had to have the window open majority of the time but it was so noisy due to the main road being outside the hotel, plus the sirens of ambulances going to and from the hospital next door! We was on the 11th floor and the window opened fully with no safety latch, which is a big safety hazard, especially if you have children with you. The hotel was quite far from the centre of Berlin, however there is a tram stop a 2 minute walk from the hotel with trams every 5 mins. It’s about a 30/40 min tram ride to the centre. There is a bar downstairs which had a selection of drinks which was open till about 10pm/11pm. Overall very very basic and disappointed that we was blatantly lied to, as that could have made our stay that bit better.
We booked two Deluxe Studios four our family of 4 + dog. Comfortable, clean and spacious rooms. And an added plus of having kitchenettes so we could eat-in if we chose to. Hotel is in a great Mitte location across the street from Tram and around the corner from U-Bahn. Great area of town to walk around. Plenty to see and do and plenty of nightlife and great cafes at your doorstep and all-around. Hotel staff is very attentive and helpful. Only downside, rooms appear to all be on the street side, so there is street noise into the night most nights. We were so exhausted from our daily adventures it really did not bother us too much, but can see how some light sleepers might find it a problem. Would most certainly recommend and will certainly consider next time we travel to Berlin.
Maps.me map is wrong, Google maps are correct. Located on the west side of the main street. It is a little less than 10 minutes on foot from Alexanderplatz. 1 S-Bahn from SXF Airport. Dormitory for 4 people Shower toilet Ensuite. There is a mini locker. There is a locker that can be locked under the bed. Wifi is connected even in the room. The room and the toilet are beautiful. There is also a light outlet and storage at the bedside. If it's hot, fans can borrow a deposit of 20 euros at the front desk. There is a washing machine in the basement. 3 euros for washing dryer 3 euros. Cospa is wonderful in Berlin where the accommodation fee is high.
Because we are two girls to go to Berlin to play, so it is quite important to stay safe. The location of this home is very good, there are subways, supermarkets, commercial streets, and Chinese restaurants (the reviews are quite high, but I did not eat). It can be considered as a quiet place. The hotel is quiet near the hotel. It will go back around 11:00 in the middle of the night. There will be no strange people wandering around. But after a five-minute ten minute walk to the commercial street, curry36 also has a branch there. The hotel looks like it will be after 3 pm, but you can leave your luggage in advance. A credit card guarantee is required before check-in, and if not, a debit card is also available. The English at the front desk is also good. (In addition, the iced peach steam in the lobby is very good) I live like a suite, 59 flat. Is the entrance to the living room? There is a sofa TV or something, going inside is a bed, a wall behind the bed is a table, you can make tea or coffee. The wardrobe is also over there. Overall it feels quite big, there are two bathrooms, the shower and the bathtub are separated in the bathroom. (The only downside is that the bath water is easy to overflow, and the bathroom is a wooden floor. It takes a long time to step on it. It feels a bit uneven.) Breakfast did not eat, so I don't know, the overall is a good hotel, not expensive, the service is not bad.
Had a great two night stay. The beds were very comfortable. Had a lovely nights sleep. My travelling companion said it’s the best bed she has slept in. The pool was great. I couldn’t bring myself to go in the sauna as I didn’t want to remove my swimwear - but the facilities looked nice. Breakfast was excellent. Lots of choice for me, a vegetarian, and my meat eating friend. Location was fantastic - the Metro is outside and the zoo station a short walk away. Staff were overall very helpful. The reason I couldn’t bring myself to give it a 5 star review is that the room we stayed in could do with a little bit of updating. It’s certainly due a refurb to bring it into this century.
Stayed in a Junior Suite. Room was large and extremely clean. Two large doors to let lots of air in. Only thing that disappointed me was it says its a room with a balcony however there is no actual outside space, the doors open and there is a bar directly at the doors and only one chair in the room so no way for us both to sit there. Bed was so comfortable and great pillows! The blue nightlight option was beautiful. Bathroom was fab! Shower was amazing, didn't want to get out!! Floor in the bathroom is heated. Wi-fi is decent but keeps signing you out so don't lose the piece of paper with your codes on it. Cleaners were fantastic, changed our towels & bed daily and fresh glasses & cups. Ate one night in the restaurant on the rooftop and the food was beautiful. Then sat on the rooftop lounge outside with a drink and the view and lights were beautiful. Location is great... Two underground stations both within a 2 minute walk. I would recommend to get a welcome card if travelling a lot as it covers underground, trains and busses. We would have spent 3 times the amount we paid for the 4 day card and also covers from airport if you buy zones a,b&c Staff were very friendly throughout our stay. Would have given 5 stars if I had of known in advance there was no actual balcony but was one of the main reasons I booked as my partner doesn't drink and our plan was to sit out there at night where I could enjoy a few glasses and he doesn't have to be in a bar. But overall had a lovely stay. My pictures don't do the room justice but just to give an idea.
I stayed here for 2 nights, last week, and had a very good time. Perfectly located, just a few minutes walk from The Zoological Gardens train station, it is ideally located for getting around the city. When I arrived at reception, the man asked me how my trip to Berlin had gone, and I explained that Ryanair made it a difficult trip, with their usual arrogant attitude, and I also missed a connecting flight in Milan. As my journey had not been good, the guy on reception immediately upgraded me, free of charge, just because I had a bad day. That is the sort of customer service that makes your day better. (Ryanair could take some tips form this guy!) The room I got was a double, which was clean and tidy, and the bathroom was also very clean. I did not have breakfast, and my only other interaction with the staff was on check out but based on the excellent staff, and a very nice room, I would happily stay here again.
My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Adlon Kempinski for 2 nights last weekend. We are lucky enough to often stay at 5 star hotels so it takes a lot to really impress us. I can honestly say that we both thought this was one of our favourite hotels ever. It goes without saying that it is a beautiful, iconic property in a fantastic location. However, the staff were just incredible. Every single person we dealt with was friendly, helpful and professional and genuinely seemed to care about our stay / comfort / query. It really was an absolute delight. We had a relatively ordinary room so I know it was not that they thought we were "important" guests. We spoke to the lady cleaning our room, the bar staff in the lobby bar, the breakfast staff, the front desk, room service on the phone, the concierge and the pianist in the lobby bar. I asked Paul at the concierge desk about a local Italian restaurant that I had seen but could not remember the name. He knew immediately and asked if we were going to dinner there. We said yes and he asked if we wanted him to book it for us. Within about 2 minutes, we had our reservation. Nothing was too much trouble. Our bedroom was spacious and luxurious as you would expect. The breakfast was probably the best we have ever had for quality and choice - open until noon which is great because you don't have to get up too early and you can treat it like brunch. No one chased you out near the end of the breakfast time - it was all very relaxed. The lobby bar was sumptuous with a fountain in the middle and the bar / waiting staff so attentive. Alexander Frey the pianist is also a world renown conductor and organist. When I phoned to see if we could have a late check-out, I was told that the room was reserved. I said, don't worry then and the man on the phone said, it's my job to worry, let me see what I can do and he then organised a later check out for us. Literally everyone who works there is at the top of their game. And I know that takes a lot for such a big hotel. All I can say is that whilst their staff training must be good and their staff selection process rigorous, this sort of service comes from the individuals themselves. Add that to such a historic and lovely hotel and you've got more than 5 stars. Thank you to each and every member of staff who we dealt with at the Adlon Kempinski - you made our trip so special and if we are ever in Berlin, we will only stay with you!
I’ve stayed at this hotel many times over the years for business and leisure and really love it. It always leaves me with big smile on my face and I feel well prepared to face the day ahead. I love the quirky furniture, the vibe of the place, the good size of the rooms and the central Mitte location. I also love all the little extras like the special toiletries, the free bottle of water etc. Huge windows let in plenty of natural light. A shower which is so big it’s almost a room in its own right. There’s a slight John F Kennedy theme but it’s a tip of the hat (such as the throne-like armchairs in each room) rather than full on memorabilia. The only unusual thing this time was a small kitchenette in our room. Yes, there was a kettle for making a tea or coffee which was appreciated but why does one need a stove top and sink when there are no other pots, pans, cutlery etc? Strange but not disconcerting. Although I have had breakfast at the hotel when I was on expenses, we find €22 a head too much so prefer to head to one of the multitude of cafes in the area for breakfast. Foot creme! Just what my poor feet needed after three weeks of travel. And now the hotel is helping the bees out too. We passed on room cleaning in lieu of a donation to a bee protection agency. Bless you, John F! I’ll be back!
Just leaving here as one writes this. Stayed 7-9 march 4 of us. One good thing is the GM and relations manager who i was in contact with prior to staying and as was charged in € and not £ bank charged me but the GM offerrd us free breakfast to compensate this much appreciated although no one checks you in to breakfast so anyone can eat without having to pay. Check in staff were VERY ignorant and rude especially the ladies on check in at 11am on sat 7th shockingly rude and not good customer service at all. Rooms ok water comes through and stinks like sewage not good. Rooms are more like a ibis budget and no tea / coffee facilities which isnt good. The black guy in the evening on sunday julian I believe his name was VERY rude and near on shouted at me and my friend who had separate booking to us , he had email from customer relations manager stating he could have free complimentary drink for his stay AND julians basically said its not valid and he doesn’t care who email from even if was from a high management and shouted at us to speak them not him he is disgustingly rude and said something in german to us and he abd his colleague laughed so cleary wasn’t something nice. Location is good though and some cafe restaurant and bars etc nearby and a lidl 2min walk away. I may stay again if new staff are employed ill be writing to accor to complain may stay at NOVOTEL next time
A great hotel in a central location. The breakfast was great, although the atmosphere was pretty noisy taking into account the huge number of people staying at the hotel. The only disadvantage is that for parking I was not able simply to drive into the parking garage, although it says that no prior reservation is needed, so I suppose I had to call the hotel in advance and tell them I'm coming with a car. So I would advise Ctrip to update this part of the information. Nevertheless, if you want to pay 10€ instead of the 22€ a day for parking in the hotel's parking garage, you can consider the parking area at Gleisdreieck, which is around 5 minutes on foot from the hotel.
I wrote a review at the airport yesterday giving the Das Stue 5 stars for an amazing stay I have removed it today and am writing this one instead When I came to pay my bill on Tuesday night prior to checking out on Wednesday I commented to the young duty manager behind the desk (who was pretty dismissive and rude at the time) that I was surprised they had earmarked so much money over the 4 night stay They had earmarked a total of £5500 which was more than the total rate - I accept they then add on money for guests spend (turned out this is an additional 100 euros per guest per night which is more than Ive experienced anywhere else in the world) The manager was quite rude and said - dont worry about it, we will use this earmarked money to settle the bill The final bill was £4600 I get home and get a call from my bank to tell me I am hugely overdrawn in my chequing account When we look into it - the hotel charged me the full amount as a new debit - they did not use the earmarked funds (which my bank had already approved), howver, they then they had not cancelled the earmarked payment. This means my bank has paid out £4600 and allocated another £5500 = OVER ELEVEN THOUSAND IN TOTAL I called the hotel who said they will get their credit card payment company Concardis to cancel the earmarked amount - they have done this, but it will now take up to 7 days for my bank to clear this off. WHY IF THE EARMARKED FUNDS HAD BEEN APPROVED DID THE HOTEL NOT USE THIS AS THEY SAID THEY WOULD?? I am now having to transfer money to cover my other commitments until this is sorted out. The hotel seem to be suggesting its my banks fault - it is not becuse they approved the earmarked funds, the hotel manager said that is what they would use and then they took another full payment I AM REALLY REALLY ANNOYED There is little point offering such a relaxed and charming stay and then ruin it with this appalling experience - I suggest you avoid or pay in advance (which I offered) or use a Credit card (which I dont generally use) OR stay somewhere else where they do pre-authorise such huge amounts
The service staff is very enthusiastic. Very clean. The hotel room is small but already prepared. The soundproofing is too bad, the movements in the hallway are clear and clear, and the walls of other rooms will be vibrated. I was scared at night. The mattress didn't seem to breathe, and it was very hot to sleep on, and didn't sleep well at night. Air conditioning is either too cold or too hot to master. I felt that the price was good before I checked in, but I really didn't rest well.
We spent 3 days at Gorki last week, slightly early Valentine’s trip. We love it as it’s just easy here, spacious apartment, clean, modern, great location and in one of the best cities in world! We cooked one day and ate out the rest of the time. With so many bars and restaurants within walking distance, you are spoilt for choice! Regarding the review below, not sure what that’s about, we’ve never had any issues, hence our third visit and not our last. Also, we just loaded the dishwasher ourself, we didn’t need the room attendant to do it! Love the personal service too, when we booked our visit, Constance messaged me the list of rooms to choose from, from the category we had booked. This was great as each apartment is different, no 2 are exactly the same. We are working our away across the different categories :) We asked for a late check out and were told it was €50, we declined that, but we were able to stay in the room until 1pm. We’ll be back in the summer, see you then!
Although the hotel is not in the city centre, the 100-way bus at the door is almost accessible to all the popular attractions - the Parliament, the Brandenburg Gate, the Museum Island and many more. And there is a supermarket 200 meters away from the hotel, it is very convenient to buy things (we just go to the supermarket to buy things for breakfast, because the German hotel's breakfast is really no attraction). There is also a Vietnamese restaurant and a Chinese restaurant within 300 meters nearby. If you are tired of Western food, you can get a sip. The hotel lobby also has its own cafe and light meals (this is rare in this 3-4 star hotel in Germany). There is a coffee machine and a few free capsules in the room, which is quite good. Also very clean and tidy
This was our third attempt at your trip to Berlin due to covid cancellations. Sandra, the hotel manager, was so helpful when it came to re-arranging our booking multiple times and always emailed me back really quickly. I really appreciate that she was willing to give me a voucher to use (which she later extended) for a later date when our flights were cancelled and I had no idea when I could re-book. As soon as my boyfriend and I entered the hotel a member of staff greeted us, and the two women on reception were also really warm and friendly. The hotel itself is perfect. The reception area and bar/restaurant area are very grand, but not pretentious. We had a few drinks at the bar over two of the evenings which was great. I had an excellent German white wine and the service was brilliant. The room was large, bed really comfortable, bathroom was lovely. Location was perfect - really close to U and S-Bahn so we could easily travel all over the city. Can't recommend this hotel or Berlin enough. Thank you for having us :)
Just back from a five day trip to Berlin staying at Novum Gates Hotel. We flew into Tiegel Airport from Manchester and the journey from airport was really quick and easy. Board the X9 bus outside terminal building B and for this hotel get off at Ernst Reuter Platz, you know when you are there as the audio on bus tells you, and the hotel is just a few hundred yards away. Hotel is sited about ten minutes walk from Zooglischer Garten railway station so this enables you to move around the city with ease. There is also a subway station around the corner from the hotel, Ernst Reuter Platz which is the U2 line and day tickets on here allow you to use all public transport although you need to check the zones and be sure to validate the ticket on platform before the first journey. The hotel is good value for money and we had room 027 in the block D which overlooked the courtyard. The hotel is a strange layout with a square shape around a central courtyard. Be aware that that is a city tax to pay upon arrival although this only came to 12 euros for our stay. Room was huge and very clean. Bathroom was great with amazing shower and again really clean and modern. On the downside for the room, there is only news channel available in English amongst over 40 channels so this is a bit of a let down when you get back from a day out. Bed was very comfortable however would benefit from having more than 1 pillow each and definitely needs proper double duvet not 2 single ones on a double bed as the rooms can get a little chilly at night. Breakfast was really good, staff very polite and served you a thermal jug of coffee to your table whilst you help yourself to juice, fruit, yoghurt and cereals with a wide choice. There was plenty of cold meat, cheese and salad if that is your thing for breakfast, but also warm option of scrambled eggs and sausages each day too. The usual array of breads and croissants accompany the rest and there is plenty to ensure you can fuel up for the day. Times served are from 6:30 to 10:30, great for days you want a lie in and also for early flights home. We would recommend buying a 2 day bus tour ticket from the tour buses which are easy to spot and depart from the bus station at the zoo. We used the first day to stay on the bus, a 2 hour round trip and then decided on the places to visit next day. I would recommend a visit intothe Reichstag although you will need to boom this advance, it was simple to do before we left UK and you will need to take passport on the day but the history and the view are worth the effort. My final recommendation would be the huge department store Ka Da We, the sixth floor has a food floor with bars cafes and aces to eat, I have to say the burger there was amazing and would recommend to all. Visit Berlin with an open mind and experience the history and people and I'm sure you will be pleasantly surprised.
The hotel is generally better, close to the bustling area of West Berlin, and convenient for shopping. Just pay attention to Ctrip's overseas precision killing is very stimulating. It is basically locked up for various price fluctuations, tax calculation, room reservation, etc. There are many traps for orders to be transferred to third-party suppliers. And the order complaint is more difficult, Ctrip overseas service is poor.
Pros: - warm welcome and farewell - friendly staff (each of them!) - clean rooms - conveniently located close to the railway station "Gesundbrunnen" - parking spaces available for a fee. Cons: - breakfast. The hotel charges you with € 10 for breakfast. The question is: What will you get for your money? Frankly speaking, it is disappointing! You get one bread roll, one slice of sausage, one slice of cheese, a mini-croissants, jam, a banana, a yogurt and orange juice. On my last day, the hotel reduced this offer and one of the two plates were replaced by the possibility to ask for cereals. It was not possible to get a second serving or make any changes according to your preferences. To avoid any misunderstanding: the quality was not poor but one bread roll for an adult is too less! In the surrounding area of the hotel are several cafés and bakeries located. To put you in the position to make your own judgement whether to order breakfast or not, please see the enclosed photos. Potential for improvement: - there is no garbage can in the hotel room (only a small one for sanitary products in the bathroom). It would not be only in the favor of the hotel guest but also in the one of the hotel staff if a garbage would be in hotel room to keep the room clean - in particular in the light that due to the Covid19-issue, the room will be cleaned up only on special request. Further information: - there is no safe in your room but lockers in the lobby area. - a few steps away from the hotel is the train station "Gesundbrunnen". At this station are long-distance trains (ICE), regional trains (Regional Express), suburban trains (S-Bahn) and the metro arriving and leaving. For example: it is a 4 minute ride with the Regional Express to Berlin main station and a 8 minutes ride with the metro "U8" to Alexanderplatz. - In front of the hotel are free public parking spaces. If you prefer a safe place to park your car, the hotel offers own parking spaces in the courtyard for € 15 per night. - In the neighborhood of the hotel are located several German (Lidl, Aldi, Rewe) and Turkish (eurogida) supermarkets and the shopping center "Gesundbrunnen".
An awesome hotel which is beyond five stars. Everything is OK! The only downside was that I forgot the souvenir bag I just bought on the table when I had meals in the lobby, and I went back to ask the waiters. They were impatient and replied that they didn't see it. When I wanted to ask more, they got a little impatient. It was a pity.
It was a great experience. From check in on. Fast, reliable, and efficient. Rooms are tidy, and have all the needs you will need for your stay in the Gayest capital of Europe! The Location is nothing better than the most approriated. Without Mentioning the Great Tom of Finland inspired deco etc. Just delightful. Very well recomended. Nothing to even put on comparison with the 6 floor high competitor, in which the Costumer Service is Inexistent, Well Done guys. Thats my personal statement, based on my personal experience and im entitled to the facts in which i have experienced. Reason why Trip advisor is called TRIP ADVISOR! A web site where real costumers, rely on the thoughtful review of others.
