We arrived today at 3 pm for checking... the room is small but indeed clean and has a feel good atmosphere BUT I NOTICED THAT BOTH CANAL (plus) + CHANNEL ARE NOT AVAILABLE IN MY ROOM. Therefore I go to the reception and mention the receptionist. He told me that it should be working, the hotel pays lots of money for the service, and maybe the programmation of the téléviser got scrambled. I ask him to check while we are going to visit the city. We return to the hotel, I asked if he check about canal + THe receptionist told me that is the only room that is actually not functioning, and he can’t explain why, and since it’s Saturday, no technician is available. I was offered to watch canal + in the lobby 😂😂😂😂😂 I though it was a joke but no. Also another negative point, the free WiFi is unsecured, therefore not very compatible with Appel, Safari isn’t responding + the WiFi goes on and off...it’s annoying but not the end of the world. It’s a nice and cosy hôtel but if I knew those inconveniences, i would book at the best western because the actually difference is 20 € for the night, and would have a proper WiFi and could have watch canal + in my room in peace instead of the lobby. If you don’t mind of those details mention! Then YES I recommend this hotel, it’s cute and cosy

Its not easily accessible and you have to park in a public car park about 5 mins walk away with a slight uphill walk. Bastia is all hills and you have to have some stamina if you want to see the sights. The hotel has a lovely aspect overlooking the harbour (where all the restaurants are) but the older you are, be aware that its a long uphill walk back after a night out. The staff are a little stand-offish and need to be smartened up, not only in how they dress, but also how they respond to guests. The Manageress is very helpful but needs to work on her staff. We were refused a night cap in the bar after 11pm by the barman and the concierge didn't help. When we asked the Manageress the next day she said the bar was open to guests ! Tell that to the Barman. The room was clean, large and comfortable and met all our expectations. Breakfast was more than adequate. On our last night the small restaurant area and balcony overlooking the port was closed to hotel guests in favour of a private function, which went on into the hours of the morning. It wasn't a pleasant feeling to once again to come back to the hotel for a for a nightcap and be unable to enjoy one again. Overall, we would recommend this hotel bearing in mind the hills and the need to upgrade the Staff's attitudes.

We stayed 1 night at the Best Western hotel and left with a smile on our faces. Both Madeline and Noureddine gave excellent customer service! We even decided to return later on in the week. When we arrived after having a long journey we decided to order something from the restaurant. There was a party happening which resulted the waiters being slightly stressed out. Noureddine helped his colleagues out by taking food/beverage orders. We think he deserves recognition for this. We look forward in visiting the Best Western once again in the future!

I'm not sure why the Bonaparte Hotel is rated 3.5 - it's centrally located a few minutes walk from the ferry and centre of town. The airport bus stop and train station are 5 minutes walk away. The rooms are small but newly renovated and fresh, great wifi, decent heating and aircon, and some have nice large balconies overlooking the cafes and streets below perfect for an afternoon glass of wine and cheese. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful - nothing was too much trouble for them. And all for a bargain price. We had a great 2 nights in this beautiful city and will definitely go back to the Hotel Bonaparte when we return.

The hotel is near the port and the centre. The staff was kindly and disposable: we let lots of baggage and stinking cheese! The room, at thirth floor, comfortable and cleaned. And also a big view around the port. A great stay!

We had a problem determining exactly where the hotel was because the picture I had of it off the website I booked with made it look as if it had a bit of a garden in front of it. However, it is right on the side of a main road with no garden. They've taken the photo from across the road and incorporated the plants on the verge there to make it look like it has a garden frontage. No problem for us though, we couldnt hear the traffic as the double glazing was very good. The receptionist was lovely and welcoming, the room was beautiful and modern with a great tiled floor. Bathroom super-modern and luxurious. We could see the sea. It couldnt have been better. Just a short walk - about 10 mins to the main town square and then a further 10 mins walk to the old port. We loved our stay here and would recommend it to anyone.
