Brilliant location with a tram stop 2 minutes walk away which takes you to central station in 5 minutes. Nice quiet area away from the main touristy section so never busy outside. We rented some bikes from the hotel and went for a ride around the nearby river which was very pleasant. Check in was effortless and very informative. Free breakfast is very good with a wide selection of hot and cold foods, I especially enjoyed the waffle maker. Room was spacious with 2 single beds and very clean, , safe in the room for our valuables was a key factor when booking, room was tidied daily by the maids. Also has a nice little gym which I used one morning, more than enough equipment to satisfy my needs. Area is safe to walk at night, never felt uncomfortable walking back in the early hours of the morning. Nothing negative to say about this hotel, i'd definitely return.

We stayed in rm 221 (the piano room). What a funky room! It had a bed large enough for 10 people and table and chairs for 10 as well. The whole room is whimsical. The bathroom is downstairs and the shower is upstairs here’s also a grand piano with a funky (but cool) chandelier over it. The windows are 3 stories tall with a remote control that opens and closes them. We stayed over the first 2 weeks of March and it was blustery weather. Sometimes you could hear the wind howl but the hotel provided ear plugs (didn’t use them because it adds ambience). Then there’s the history of the place. It’s practically it’s own museum. I ended up climbing like 5 flights of stairs just reading and looking at the pictures on the walls which documented the history of the hotel. Fascinating! It’s been many things (detention center for immigrants entering the country, a hiding place for Jews during the war as well as a detention center for them later, a juvenile detention center, and an art community among others). The hotel restaurant is quite good and is utilized by locals as well. Make sure to try their bitterballen! The staff is amazing and concerned with your comfort. Every interaction with them was pleasurable. They’re very helpful in providing help with things to do and they’re happy to tell you where all the good places to eat are. They have the ability to print tram tickets (they get cheaper the more days you put on them so consider one for your entire stay!) as well as tickets to most venues (avoid standing in ticket lines!). I think it’s perfectly placed to ensure a peaceful stay. It’s right near the Reitland Park stop on line 7 that’ll take you directly in to town or you can take the escalator and catch 26 to the Centraal Station to take a free ferry over to north Amsterdam or the train to wherever you feel like going. Compare; $35-40 for an Uber/taxi to the airport to $6 by train. Then there’s the Spanish restaurant in front of the hotel and to the left that serves mainly seafood and tapas. Directly in front of the hotel is a little park with a canal boat stop for Lloyd Hotel. Across the street is a strip shopping mall deal with a grocery store, a CVS-like pharmacy, hair salons, and bank (ING) as well as a butcher, flower shop and others. Overall it was a lovely break from the stuffiness of the Ritz and the mediocrity of chains. Had a great stay!

Super friendly concierge who made our stay much more enjoyable. Spacious apartment with large double sofa bed for our two children to share. Well appointed kitchen with everything you'll need. Unbelievably quiet for a city break, no noise pollution from neighborhood. We adored eating out in Spirit, an upmarket self service cafe a 2 minute walk away which was excellent for vegans.

Although the location is not in the city center, it is very convenient to take Uber for about 10-15 euros per trip. The kitchen is complete, the shower and toilet are separated, the bathroom is very spacious, the water power is strong, and the towels are very soft and large. The heating is great. Large room can hold 2 29-inch suitcases. The coffee machine worked well, and the sofa bed in the living room was very spacious. The view is a floor-to-ceiling seascape, fireworks, and a large dining table for 4 people. Mattress beds were comfortable. There are washing machines and clothes dryers, but no laundry detergent is provided. Detergents, showers, shampoos and moisturizers are provided, but toothbrushes are not provided. The service staff is first-rate, courteous, and very helpful, and will say good morning and good night. The price is fair enough to take Uber back and forth. The room was very clean and tidy.

Surrounding environment is good. There is a tropical museum next to it, and a large free park, you can go for a walk after dinner. A ten minute walk to a snack street, like our market, clothes, food, fruits, are all self-owned stalls, open from 10:00 to 17:00, the hotel location is a little far from the central station.

To start with: the hotel is not close to city center, although you can take 2 trams almost in front of the hotel. It’s a long walk if you’re planning to explore the city by foot but doable (we did it every day). The staff is not that friendly, but provided us all the information we asked. The room is small, filled with carpets and paper wall, huge curtains, and I had an allergic reactions due to the amount of dusty inside the room. I couldn’t sleep well during the night, started to cough and sneeze. The bathroom has a good size but there was no heating inside, and it was January, for Christ sake. It was cold and rainy. I also missed the emergency security cord inside the bathtub. The shower was terrible. The water’s temperature fluctuated all the time - hot, cold, warm, and the pressure was very low. The bathrooms’s door is made of translucent but opaque glass and during the night if someone went to the bathroom, the light disturbs. The breakfast was very good - one of the best things about this hotel: Benedict eggs and croissant. Not a great variety of fruits, coffee machine (the cappuccino or espresso made to order was not included). The restaurant inside the hotel serves a good pasta and cold beer.

Breitner House is a unique, warm, and luxurious experience. This boutique hotel has only two independent beautifully appointed suites, which is a definite benefit now. The setting is as if you were living in an art gallery with carefully chosen artwork, furniture, and lovely objets d’art. Added to the engaging setting are the complimentary coffees, wines, candies, and fruits making your visit feel like visiting a private, lovely country house. The warmth of the hosting also gives a comforting feel to it all. You can be as private or as social as you wish and any question or need was very nicely handled. And the breakfasts are gourmet level. Camilla provides a wide variety of cold cuts, cheeses, jams, chutneys, fresh fruit and juices, yoghurt, dips, pastries and breads that are very high quality. In addition, the warm entrees vary and each and every one was delicious. I don’t know how she does it. The sparkling wine offered with breakfast just added to an already special experience. The coffee was excellent and the latte/espresso was very much enjoyed by my husband. In fact, after breakfast I was ready to lounge in the spa-like bathroom in our suite. We traveled with our daughter and so had both suites. Frankly, I had a hard time choosing ours. Hers had a well designed bathroom with a shower and the fireplace in her room made our winter visit feel very cosy. They are both large and well lit with sitting areas and she didn’t even use the front room adjacent to her sitting room. Ours had a large living area with a sofa to sink into as well as another beautiful ceramic tile bathroom with shower and separate tub with heated floors. It was such a comfort to come back to the house after long days walking, sightseeing, and Ubering around Amsterdam, sometimes in the rain. Either suite is an excellent choice. We felt privileged to visit Breitner House and although we have stayed in amazing boutique hotels, top Kyoto ryokans, and large hotels, it was a peak quality experience for all of us.

Chose to stay here for a long weekend as was attending a gig in the venue underneath the hotel on the Saturday night . So glad we chose it as it was fantastic for what we wanted. The room was fairly small but arranged in a way that everything worked really well and had everything we needed. The bed was comfortable, there was a lovely powerful, hot shower and a heated towel rail in the bathroom. The staff were very friendly and helpful and we were even able to check in early, which was a lovely surprise. The location of the hotel was excellent too, less than 10 minutes to the nearest train station and even closer to the tram. There’s plenty of shops and restaurants in the immediate vicinity too and a cosy cafe within the hotel. Great value for money, would definitely stay again. 😊

Pension Homeland is a cool spot, in a great location, with a very nice staff. The hotel is nice, with views of the marina, a nice bar and restaurant. All the staff was very nice and welcoming with kind greetings and recommendations for things to do. While the room was small, but I think standard size in most European hotels from what I’ve gathered in my travels, the bed was comfy, the room was clean, and we had an unobstructed view of the courtyard and marina. Most things were walkable, if you don’t mind walking ☺. In about 20 minutes, steady pace walking time, you can get to Amsterdam Central, the Red Light district, tons of restaurants, the canal/canal rides and attractions, and stops for the Hop on Hop off bus. I would definitely stay again.

I only stayed for one night But it was amazing. The room was clean and the staff are friendly. My room mates were all on a solo trip so we decided to explore Amsterdam together and that made my stay even better. Bed, sheet and blankets were clean. It was a bit expensive actually but I think because it’s a peak season. If you’re looking into staying somewhere quiet and not so far from central then this is the places. It would take at least 15 minutes to get to the metro station WEESPERPLEIN from the hostel. Wasn’t a problem with me as I like walking but if you have a lot of stuff with you and are planning on walking then you might have to think again. Anyway, I had a great time in Amsterdam and part if the experience was staying in this hostel. Would stay here again the next time I visit Amsterdam. Cheers!

we had a trip planned to Amsterdam for a week, but with the corona virus getting a lot worse we had to cancel. We decided to split the trip in two hotels 4 days at Jakarta and 4 at another. The latest update is that all tourist attractions, cafes etc will close in Amsterdam and that it could be locked down. We contacted our first hotel who were wonderful and understanding that we can't risk being locked out of our country and gave a full refund immediately. However Jakarta were quite rude and unreasonable we accepted that they wouldn't offer a refund so tried to reason with them to an exchange the dates so that we can still visit their hotel and not loose such a large sum. They didn't seem to appreciate that this isn't within our control and it would be irresponsible for us to travel. Rude unreasonable and lack of empathy. Will not book with them again.

We stayed here for two days and it is in a great location. Location: Its a stones throw away from tram 14 which will take you to the center of town. Breakfast: The breakfast was lovely and it was nice to see that the hotel use's local farms produce. Room: We stayed in a deluxe room and it was lovely, it had a coffee machine, tea facilities and a large TV. The shower was nice and hot (with no limiting of heat just a safety button) it also had great pressure. The only slight thing that was a small issue was being on the 3rd floor the rain would drip from higher up onto the metal window/roof and it was quite loud, it wasn't enough to wake me but did hinder the my sleep as i struggle to sleep. This is weather biased and by no means an issue on the hotel. Just thought i'd mention it for someone like me.

Amsterdam Oud Zuid
When booking the hotel, both of my friends and my friends clearly saw that it stated on Ctrip that it was less than two kilometers from Amsterdam Central Station. As a result, when I got off the train and looked at the map, I was about to leave the city of Amsterdam. The traffic was very inconvenient! ! ! It's really inconvenient! ! It takes more than an hour to get to the city center every day. The hotel is remote. If you plan to spend late in the city center every day, the suggestion is to book a hotel near the city. The night is a bit scary.

Overall, the hotel is nice and well located, surrounded by the main museums. There is plenty space in the bedroom. The furnituries are new as well as the bed, bed clothes and comforters. I would say that the room where I stayed was bad illumintated. My only complain is that the hotel did not enforcement what his staff said to me about the breakfast price. It was offered to me for 8 euros per person per day. When I made my check out I was obliged to pay 18 euros per person per day. To me it seems to be a normal practise at that hotel, since I did not see any token saying the breakfast price. Be aware too, when you are making your check out, the hotel will charge city taxe of you. In my case I had to pay 50 euros.

I visited this hotel in October 2020 with my partner to celebrate his birthday ( we were supposed to go in March but pushed back due to the pandemic). The guest relations staff stayed in touch with me the day up until my visit which I thought was lovely. We arrived at the hotel and were greeted personally by Tania who I cannot rate highly enough! She is AMAZING! She is genuinely one of the loveliest people I have ever met. We got to our room which had been decorated with balloons, confetti hearts & little gifts such as prosecco and chocolate, it was absolutely beautiful. All decorated by the lovely Tania. The room was stunning, the view was amazing, the bed was amazing. Even though everything in Amsterdam was shut due to the lockdown ( you could get takeaway) it didn’t matter as the hotel alone was great! We will definitely be visiting again and cannot wait to see the hotel staff, especially Tania :-)

The Moevenpick Hotel offers a great view over the old town and is convenient accessable by train, tram, ship and car. I arrive on a rainy morning and was please with the friendly welcome by the Fornt Office Manager Mr. John Caucian who went the extra mile to make me feel special. This is very rare these days in a big hotel. He explained the Corona meassures, gave me tips for the town and a arranged a dining table and took time explain the views from my room in the 18th floor and the use the gym. All in a very polite and charming way. Next morning I got a personal welcome from the Manager during my breakfast. This personal service make me feel very special. Together with the clean and comfi room and for sure makes me coming back next time. Well done - Top service, great rooms and a very good location.

It is also a new time to play in Amsterdam. It is economical to travel alone, but also to be safe and clean. I also want to chat with strangers. I simply realized the idea of staying in a youth hostel when I was young. The city freedom is a little expensive, eat a nutritious breakfast for 15 euros-live in a normal hotel for 150 euros, analyze my personal preferences and budget, or save the hotel money properly, use the hotel Money is enough in Amsterdam for two days ... By the way, there are problems with card swiping in this place, let alone cash, I found my sister in Germany for 500 Euros and took it away. When I came to this hostel, I first felt that the surrounding environment was good in literature and art, and the youngest and most fashionable Holland ~ This youth hostel should be opened in a building of an art institute, and there is an eye museum with a beautiful scenery (I think it should be a newcomer) Part of the punching ground is still under construction, but it is quite standard.) The room is clean and the traffic is convenient. Needless to say, it can no longer be convenient: the airport can take a train to the Central Station for 20 minutes and come out to take a free ferry. Friends who arrive by train don't even have to buy a ticket to cross the train station. Take the ferry and go straight to the hotel. The question about the ferry at the beginning of the word B is actually very clear and marked. The hostel facilities are everything, and there are bars in the evening. I drank a lot of beer at the bar and the bartender was very handsome.

Beyond a very high standard of accommodation (and most important these days), NH Barbizon Palace displayed a strong anti-pandemic policy. Except for a minor housekeeping lapse in room preparation our stay in mid-August was perfect in every way, starting with a great welcome at the front desk and positive / attentive attitudes displayed by all staff throughout the weekend. I observed ongoing/updated cleaning throughout the hotel and there were numerous hand sanitation dispensers. Breakfast was abundant, with wide social distancing and sanitizing station for use before every time at buffet. Staff re-cleaned areas as soon as they had been used once (on a side note, Amsterdam itself was less crowded than usual and 50-50 in terms of masks and social distance, with the nearby, crowded red-light district pretty much in "what pandemic?" mode). Other hotel pluses were a very good gym/spa area my wife and I had to ourselves (I think sometimes a reservation system is in place) super comfy bed, big HD TV with multiple-language channels, quick wifi with no connectivity issues and an excellent location near train station and center city. Late check out allowed for a bit of extra sightseeing. I'm planning to return as soon as possible.
