After booking a room I received an e-mail explaining that the check-in process will be organised through a third party app. Not willing to give all my personal data to an unknown app I asked for an alternative check-in option. This was denied. As was to refund the cancellation fee of €135. Intransparent about the terms and the procedure. Read carefully the comments on booking.com

We found the hotel by coincidence. Most hotels in the area where either fully occupied or could only offer rooms at a very high rate. We where lucky to find Tre Re. Not only did they offer a room incl. breakfast at a reasonable price, but also a safe parking for our car! The receptionist was very helpfully and spoke very good English! The room we got was absolutely good and did have a double bed, but actually to beds together, which we like! Breakfast, which is included, was good and big enough. The restaurant have very good food at reasonable prices! Staff and owners (we think) were very nice . We will be back!

If you visit Como you simply must stay here in these beautiful large modern clean suites. Affordably priced, very close to the water and the old city, the attention to detail here is faultless. You rooms are large, fully equipped, modern, light and quiet. The owners look after your every need and are great ambassadors for Italy. The hotel also features a beautiful pool, good outdoor areas, rooms with balconies, and lots of italian ambience. Simply stunning, and we will return. You wont regret booking your stay here, it is simply that good.

The location of this B&B is excellent. You step out of the door and you are by the lake/cafes/old town/ ferries etc. it’s perfect. The room is exceptionally clean and decorated in a tasteful contemporary way. Kettle in room. AC was good to have. Bottled water available at all times. Owner exceptionally pleasant and helpful. Definitely would stay here again. There was no window looking outside only into an internal light well. We like too see outside from rooms we stay in. We stayed in Room Verde. Breakfast at local cafe limited choice but good food.

Stayed just two nights on our way from Basel to Rome. Location was perfect on the Piazza de Cavour and across from the lake and ferry building. Enjoyed our balcony at night and in the morning- sounds coming up from a restaurant downstairs serenaded is. Lots of shops, cafes, etc. right there. A supermarket a couple blocks away for a few supplies. Comfortable lobby and bar - didn’t try the restaurant just had too many choices. Breakfast was very good and well stocked.

Thank you to Christian, family and staff for making our stay so enjoyable. The rooms are very comfortable and stylish and obviously designed with love. There is always water, biscuits, cakes and a coffee machine available for guests in the foyer. We had dinner in the restaurant downstairs and we thought it was one of the best meals we had in Como and the staff were great. The location is also excellent. Thanks again Christian and good luck with your venture. Carol & Neil

I chose this place because of the location, the history of the space, and of course the 5-star reviews. I was curious and couldn’t believe it was possible for a place to be truly perfect. But I was wrong! It IS perfect! First, the location is perfect - right in the historic center of Como. You wouldn’t know the hotel is there if you didn’t have the exact address, as it’s inside a courtyard building on a quiet side street. Once inside the courtyard, I still had to ask someone where the hotel was! Very discrete and private. The walkway to the front door of the hotel takes you along a private garden (the owners’) next to patio tables with lovely floral arrangements and candles. Once inside, you are immediately bathed in atmosphere via gentle music (always playing and helping melt away any lingering stress), flattering lighting and carefully curated design. The staff (Alba, Sasha and Brani) were... I can’t even find the words to describe their solicitous hospitality and authentic desire that your expectations be exceeded in every way. The owners, Max and Lidia, were unbelievably friendly and helpful. Plus they had the sweetest dog! The layout and design of every room was obviously thoughtfully considered, from the lobby (more like a living room) to the dining room. My favorite common room was the intimate bar nook, which feels like a sweet little speakeasy for up to four people. Our room was bright and spacious, luxuriously outfitted and impeccably clean. The bed was beyond comfortable and the water pressure from the rain shower was absolutely heavenly! On the one rainy day I had a wonderful massage in the pretty on-site treatment room. But by far my favorite thing about this hotel, that sets it leaps and bounds above anywhere else, is what comes from the kitchen! Every day begins with an amazing breakfast in the cozy dining room, which holds a huge community dining table that seats 12-14 people, each place having a full place setting and handwritten name tag with fresh, tiny flowers. One could also eat outside at the patio tables we passed on the way into the hotel, but it was a little too chilly for me. The food was laid out, buffet style, on gorgeous old wooden buffets and cabinets, consisting of homemade fresh juices, soft cheeses, yogurt, preserves and tortes, and supplemented by local salumi, harder cheeses, pastries and a variety of fresh fruits. Also available, upon request, was a sort of eggs Benedict with avocado that looked scrumptious, but I never had room for anything else (other than the cappuccino or two I was served) after partaking of the bounty of the buffet! After spending up to an hour at breakfast, we would usually go out for the day and enjoy all of the activities that Lake Como has to offer, before returning home to partake in the Italian tradition of the aperitivo, or pre-dinner drink, taken in the “living room” or bar nook. Many specialty cocktails, designed just for the hotel, are available as well as more pedestrian options

I stayed here with friends for one night in September. The hotel is in a fabulous location in the heart of Como. We rented a car and were able to leave it at a nearby parking garage. Hotel was clean, staff was super friendly and the location can not be beat. Everything is within walking distance including the lake and the train stations. My one recommendation for anyone traveling to Como with a rental car. If you use an app like google maps while driving in Como - it will take your down pedestrian streets. As you get close to the center of town - it’s best to stay on the main streets and walk in. Learned that lesson the hard way ;)

We stayed for 3 nights over Xmas. The hotel is one of the best small luxury hotel I have ever stayed at. We only stay at 5 stars hotels and this one is at the top of my favorites. They pay so much attention to details in the room from top of the line linens to using small but excellent products rather than large corporate products. Definitely worth getting a room with a view. The location was perfect and I wouldn't want to stay on any other part of Como. It's easy access to all other parts but the little town is less touristy than Bellagio and more charming in my opinion. The light show around the corner and the xmas market was well worth the stay. The staff was so friendly and helpful. The only thing I would say is that the hotel should have known ahead of time what restaurants were open and closed during the holiday as so many were closed. There were not a lot of choices but I still would recommend going during xmas. It's hard to not get a good meal in Italy even if it's not highly rated.

I stayed here with my mum in August and we were so very pleased with the choice. The location is just perfect, right on the lake by the ferrys and close to the old town. The service was lovely, they gave us a room with a view and organized twin beds. The air con was not great in the room but I think being on the top floor didnt help. Room was so clean and comfortable, beds are soft but I slept well. Its quiet even though its in a busy area, it still felt calm and relaxing. For the price, this is surely the best option on Como. Will be back.

Just spent 3 nights at the Posta Design in Lake Como. Staff are very friendly and helpful, would like to mention the lovely ladies on reception for all their advice and tips and the guys behind the bar for their wonderful service and for making my daughter feel very special on her birthday. Hotel is very clean and modern. Food was great. It's in a central location, perfect for the Lake and everything else that Como offers. If we come back to Como we will definitely book this hotel again. Thanks for a lovely time Posta.

We stayed at this B&B for 4 nights in June. And had a very pleasant stay. It is in the hills alongside the Como Lake. And takes a 10 minute drive by car to the water, 15 minutes to the city centre. But what a view from your appartment, really great. The appartment itself is also very nice, looks all kind of new and well maintained. Host was great, very friendly, and nothing was too much. Breakfast was fine, sitting on the central terrace with view on the lake. For us a very pleasant stay. If we are in the neighbourhood of Como again we know what place to visit.

We booked this Villa knowing it was priced at a similar rate as the traditional big brand hotels like the Hilton, and did not regret for a minute our decision. Set 10-15 minute walk from the lake, slightly away from the centre affords a more peaceful stay. The staff are super friendly and helpful, rooms are well sized (we had a 2 room suite for just a few euros more than a standard double), and all served with a small but very good buffet breakfast. Car parking space is limited, but there is a small open car park 100m down the road, - all this in a residential district so quite safe. Restaurants are not on site - but within 15-20 minutes form the old town there are so many to choose from it is not any issue. A highly recommend place....

This little gem was a wonderful choice when visiting Como. We thought that we had booked the front room with the panoramic view, but discovered that not to be so. But management were friendly and accommodating, the room was available, and we were placed in the 'room with a view' at a reduced additional price. Walking into the room one encounters a breathtaking panorama of lake Como, as the hotel is perched across the road on the shores of the lake from which all the barges and boats depart. The room was spacious and comfy, the coffee provided was great, and the whole experience was wonderful. Only -ve is the tiny toilet area in which my husband barely fitted, as he is a 2M tall and broad man. We would also have liked chairs on which to sit whilst drinking our morning coffee or evening sundowner. It was uncomfortable sitting on the bed, which was the only option for two people -there was only a lounger for one person, which was too low to look out of the window. However, we shall return.

I came here for my 4 year wedding anniversary and i must say this was the best one ever and it will be hard to top. Fulvio and his gorgeous niece Noemi were so friendly and helpful. They totally treated us like family and were helpful in every way. They prepared a nice surprise for us when we arrived and Noemi went above and beyond and we look forward to coming back. The breakfast was amazing and we got a kick out of Bilba (male) and Paulina (female) cats. The kitties made the villa that much more entertaining and welcoming. We got massages and hung out in the salt halo room, which was also outstanding. This trip couldn't have gone more perfect. Anyone who books the Bellagio Suite will enjoy their time there, and be sure to check out the store they have on premises. Whoever marries Noemi will be a very lucky because she is an amazing lady. Thank you all so much and see you soon. (A nice present will be on it's way from Germany soon for them) 😀😀 Ciao! ❤ Milo Estrello & Heidi Pfeffer
