5.36km from Gelateria CallipoArriving late in the afternoon, we parked in the carpark overlooking the sea. A thunder storm was brewing and I was glad we hadn't far to go to check in. Nobody home when we rang the bell but a quick phone call brought the lovely land lady to welcome us and settle us in. Our room was fabulously atmospheric. A small balcony over looking the terraced garden to the blue, blue sea. Mosquito nets to protect me from the dreaded beasties was a lovely touch. The B&B is so close to the main square and finding food [great pizza by the slice] and a big screen for the football world cup was easy. Super comfortable bed and we slept really well, though disturbed by thunder & lightning, our room had a theatrical edge with mirrors reflecting the flashes. I loved our stay and we both regretted that we only had a one night booking. Post pizza we enjoyed a glass of wine and an explore of the communal area below our room, I swapped a book from the library of ex-holiday reads. I always love this aspect of travel. Great shower in the morning and breakfast on the terrace was wonderful. The best pastries we've had in Italy and the coastal view exactly as painted in a picture on the wall of our room. Sad to leave and hope so much we return to Pizzo. One night was not enough.
