0.08km from downtownThe difference between many hotels is not always the facilities that they offer. Instead it is really the staff and their services. The Kimpton Vividora has a very talented, professional team that should be the envy of its competitors. We had a 4 night stay that was to be the prequel of a Mediterranean cruise. The cruise line would not allow us to cancel prior to our departure from the USA. We also had non-refundable airfares. The hotel would have allowed cancellation but, we decided to go to Europe and see what happens. We arrived to the hotel on Sun. March 8. This hotel has an excellent location right in the middle of everything. The doorman was helping us from the moment we turned down the street. Carrer Del Duc, as most of Gothic Quarter is mostly carless. Check-in was fast. Even at noon time, we were allowed to check-in. That was a godsend, after an overnight flight. We had reserved a Superior King Balcony. We didn't use the balcony. But the extra space that this room offers was great. The bathroom is split with the toilet in a separate room. The sink is open with lots of counter space. The shower is huge, 4 ft by 5 ft space. The bed was very comfortable. The room was also very quiet being off the main streets. Everything in the room was nice, new, and clean. We did do breakfast at Fauna. The restaurant is contemporary, with beautiful tile walls. The buffet breakfast was a nice spread. We chose continental, but one can also choose full buffet. That option allows one to chose anything on the breakfast menu. We had a couple beers at Cafe Got. The pool and its restaurant had not opened yet for the season. We checked out to go to our cruise ship on March 12th. Two hours after boarding, our cruise was cancelled. So we came back to the Kimpton and stayed for 2 more nights. We had to contact our airline to fly home. It was a weird 2 days as we frantically were trying to get return flights. But the hotel seemed like an oasis compared to the insanity of Spain coping with the Covid-19 virus. The hotel staff continued to perform their duties. They really worked professionally during this crisis. I was so thankful that I chose to stay at the Kimpton Vividora.

Anxious part feels that I wanted shower room personally. In addition, breakfast was not able to start with impression that it was slightly too high with around 16 euros.

0.24km from downtownFrom the friendly greeting to our spacious room overlooking Las Ramblas, our stay at Apartments Ramblas 108 was a very pleasant surprise. The washing machine with built-in dryer was a definite bonus in the middle of our multi-City two week holiday. The location is hard to beat; across the street from Mercado Bocanera, in the heart of the fascinating Gothic District. We love Barcelona, and this place made the visit both affordable and more enjoyable.

Hotels Near Gelatiamo In Barcelona Review
This hotel is really cool. You can do your own cooking, rooms are well air-conditioned. Location is perfect for sightseeing. Metro within walking distance. Taxis outside the door if you wish to take taxi to the lovely beaches which are about 10 mins away. Well worth an early morning walk on Barcelonetta beach, nice breeze in the morning and a great start to the day.
This was my first trip as a solo female and my first trip to Barcelona and after reading the reviews on this hostel, I was not left disappointed. Staff are friendly and helpful, the atmosphere and the feel of the hostel is perfect for all travellers but especially if you’re traveling alone. Not much of a party/lovely atmosphere when I stayed but that wasn’t a bother. The beds are comfy, clean towels and bedding on arrival, hot showers, the entire hostel is spotless and smells amazing by the way... and the breakfast is basic but all you need before you start the day gallivanting! WiFi is also pretty good. In terms of the area, it’s perfect! Example is one of the safest neighbourhoods and is on the quieter side, perfect for shopping as it is close to Playa de Catalunya (Zara, H&M....) and has the loveliest and friendliest last night cafes on street corners. Every other neighbourhood is easy to walk to or get the metro so pretty cool area to stay. Metro is easily accessible from every street from the hostel as well as buses (get the T-10 ticket, €10.20 for zone 1 as that’s all you’ll need and lasts 10 journeys/2 days roughly depending on your stay) I’d 100% visit Don Moustache again and would recommend it to anyone solo traveling, even as a group/couples :)
This apartment was easy to access from the train station and with easy to notice signs. The room had a small kitchenette which would work well for those planning a longer stay, with a small sitting area and separate bedroom with en suite. The location is slightly out of the main area of Barcelona, but there was plenty of transport near by. On arrival to the hotel we asked the gentleman in reception if there was a laundry facility as part of the apartment building, he informed us no and could not give us adequate directions to where one was. On our way up to the room they were doing some renovations and painting the hallway right outside our room and the smell of the paint went through to our room. We went back to reception to ask if there was possibly another room we could be moved to and were curtly told no. The website stated free and paid for WiFi, the free WiFi was a horrible connection and would not load anything, so we paid for the high speed WiFi to be able to check into our flights. The WiFi was not cheap and was no better than the free WiFi, unable to load anything. When discussing this with the gentleman at the front desk he wasn't interested in helping us resolve this issue, or apologetic for the poor internet connection. After all this, unfortunately we could not wait to move on from Barcelona to leave this apartment.
Stayed here for one night, was an ideal location not on a main road, but right in the centre and well connected to everything! Perfect for the price (50 per night for 2 people) It is very basic, but I personally wouldn't travel to Barcelona to stay in a hotel room the whole time.. so in my case I couldn't have been happier! We had a balcony which is amazing watching the street life from above. Honestly couldn't say a bad word about this place, staff were very nice as well and held on to our bags for us after check out
I’ve just returned from Hostalin Gran Via following a great trip with my husband and a couple of friends. The hotel is basic and clean, but has everything you need for a short city break. It is in a great location, although we initially had a little difficulty finding the building- we arrived at night, so we couldn’t see the hotel sign particularly clearly from the street. The hotel is a short and easy walk from Place de Catalunya and La Rambla, so very accessible from the airport bus drop off point. In the opposite direction you can easily reach Arc de Triomf and the beautiful district of El Born. Our friends had lots of Gaudi related visits booked and were able to reach everything on foot in around 20-25 minutes maximum without the need to rely on public transport. That is a much better way to see the city if you have no difficulty walking. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful and gave us a warm welcome along with a cold bottle of Cava per room with some flutes. This was really appreciated! The rooms were cleaned daily and fresh towels provided. There is a small kitchen for guests use along with a coffee machine and biscuits. Our room was in very close proximity to the small hotel reception, which meant that we could hear some low level noise as people went about their day. However, this would in no way deter us from staying there again and rooms further along the corridor were perhaps unaffected. All in all we thought this was a great base for our trip and for the price we paid. We would definitely stay there again. Thanks Hostalin Gran Via. I’m sure we’ll be back!
I have stayed in many budget hotels all over Europe and found Hostal Excellence to be outstanding value. The location is its best asset, right off Placa Catalunya, dead center in Barcelona. Make sure you know where you are going beforehand as its a little hard to find especially in the dark (look for a simple metal door with colorful grafitti - ring buzzer). The little street it's on has some very nice reasonable restaurants. PACK LIGHT for this hotel. There is no elevator and you need to go up 2 flights of stairs. The stairwell is well lit, contrary to some reviews( switch is by the door). The hotel is very basic but spotlessly clean. Rooms are smallish but well appointed for the price. Shared bath accommodations are not a problem- it's a very small hotel with several very clean baths. The front desk staff were extremely nice and helpful. The beds were comfortable and good size. Tv was small but adequate. Some rooms had small balconies. This was a very quiet hotel. No breakfast is served, but coffee and hot water were available (bring a good instant coffee with you). Be warned the front desk is not manned until 9am. The desk is open until midnight, but can be extended to 2am checkin if requested at booking. There is baggage storage at the hotel. Make no mistake, this is a budget hotel. It is well positioned and a fantastic bargain in central Barcelona. (note: the best way from the airport is by Aerobus. 6€ each way, pay on bus. Drop off at Placa Catalunya, only a couple blocks from the hotel. Pack light. Check Google Earth to see the entryway - it's obscure).
After travelling for months on end and staying at countless hostels, I have to say this is one of the very best!! the hostel has a good location (close to a street of exceptional tapas, not far from la ramblas, supermarkets close, metro 5 min walk away, ect...) the security is good (code to enter front door, 24 hour reception and lockers in every room). Wifi strong all over hostel, very very clean!!! Beds brilliant - have curtains for privacy, very stable, couldn’t feel when the person above/below you moved or got up!! All the basic facilities were great. But the very best thing was easily the atmosphere!! If you’re looking for a social hostel THIS IS IT!! The staff are beyond incredible - they’re SO SO welcoming and genuinely friendly. Shoutout specifically to Rio, Baptiste and Mauro!! Whilst they were super helpful and inclusive, they also blended in with the guests and didn’t act with authority. The free dinners every night (tips welcome if you want but not forced) were a great way to meet people and were followed by drinking games (predominantly pizza box and drinking jenga which were SO much fun!) super inclusive, fun, social atmosphere, filled with lots of laughs!!! occasionally got free sangria, jungle juice, chips and chocolate biscuits for free after dinner too!! you left for a different bar and club every night which was free entry with the hostel. you aren’t forced to go out and party but most people did. daily activities were also good. genuinely felt sad leaving this place! made some super good friends that I’ll definitely keep in touch with!! overall a great hostel to party and be social with lots of additional freebies! 100000% worth it!! THANK YOU HOSTEL ONE PARALELO FOR EVERYTHING!! I will be back :))))
After being in Barcelona for several times, staying at ABaC hotel was by far the best hotel experience I've ever had in the city. The Hotel is perfectly connected with the city centre. The metro stops right in front of the hotel and with a max 10 mins ride and only 5 stops you can get to Gracia and plaza Catalunya. The rooms are much more spatious compared to 5* hotels in Barcelona and the ABaC hotel has a nice little garden surrounded by trees which gives to every room a very relaxing view. The interior design is very accurate and modern, favouring a very comfortable stay also for longer periods. Also bathrooms are designed to be relaxing but at the same time very practical. The rooms are equipped with coffee machine, tea boiler, sat TV with all the main channels in every language and a bluetooth loudspeaker for listening to music. The staff speaks very well all the main european languages and is always ready to help with any need that a guest might have (from revervation in restaurants, to extra services). Furthermore, the room is always in perfect conditions thanks to the perfect job done by cleaners. You don't see them around and the cleaning service never bothers, but they are always present, morning, day and eve (turndown service) Special mention goes to the really delightful breakfast with premium ingredients and perfect service thanks to very experienced and empathetic personnel.
We spent six days in a clean, comfortable and well appointed apartment in a building that is at least 300 years old. The location is terrific in the Bari Gotic, within easy walking distance of many attractions (La Pedrera, Palau National de la Música, Museo Picasso, Park Ciutidella) as well as shops and restaurants. The location on a narrow alley with graffiti on the shutters is a little off putting but we always felt safe. The receptionist was friendly and helpful. We slept well on comfortable beds. This is not a hotel so there is no maid service but we had clean towels whenever we wanted. We appreciated the well equipped small kitchen but be aware that there is no oven, just a cook top and microwave. The room had plenty of closets to hang clothes but basically no shelves or drawers for storage.
The room was great, reception was great, we even had a surprise and got a balcony/terrasse which was really nice and cosy. What you need to know is that it’s not in the centre of the city itself so you have to use public transportation. But even so it’s not that complicated.
The difference between many hotels is not always the facilities that they offer. Instead it is really the staff and their services. The Kimpton Vividora has a very talented, professional team that should be the envy of its competitors. We had a 4 night stay that was to be the prequel of a Mediterranean cruise. Before writing this review, I read most of the 1 and 2 star rating reviews because I couldn't believe there would be so many. Most of them are quite old. The rooms have been renovated and while quite small, are reasonable. The first and best positive were the staff. Both staff personnel we interacted with were excellent, and we really loved our morning staff member Laura. She was extremely helpful and pointed us to wonderful restaurants. There was a small public breakfast nook space with tables and a coffee machine. Several guests went out and purchased breakfast items and ate them there. Admittedly, the rooms are small. The beds are large and unfortunately take up most of the space in the room. If you have a suitcase that opens up into two equal parts, you can slide it under the bed. If not, you can do as we did and removed what we planned to wear and put it on the provided shelves. Then stand the suitcase in the corner. The rooms were clean, the ensuite bathroom clean and the shower wonderful. I love the location and we walked many miles around the Hostal each day. Overall, it was a very European experience and very friendly and warm. I love Barcelona.
At first we were a little afraid the room wasn't what we expected. Some of the reviews were quite great and others far below. The direct website has it all: the information, nice pictures and it we thought: let's take the "risk". We booked the better room with two separate beds. We walked through the streets and couldn't find it. But than, just on the corner there's the location. 10 minutes walking distance of Gracia and 15 minutes walking distance of Playa Catalunya and the Ramblas. You will stay in the complex between the locals. The room was nice, beautiful decoration, airco, sidetable with chairs, two balcony's (just to stand, no place for chairs) and an own bathroom (including soap and shampoo/douche gel) with every day clean towels. Also the beds are made every single day. The air freshener welcomes you "home" after a day of sightseeing. At the hallway you can put you drinks and snacks in a shared fridge. Breakfast is between 8.30 and 10.30 and is fully equipped. It's also possible to eat breakfast on the shared balcony/terrace. We had a really great stay over here! We stayed 6 nights en 7 days. The location is great. Just remember you are in the middle of the city, so you will hear everything. Cars, scooters, bikes etc. will drive through the streets so it will never be a 100% soundproof place. And that makes it special. You know you are one of the locals during your citybreak at Barcelona. Would definitely come back and recommend this place! (will choose the "better room" with own bathroom again).
As an organiser for our school trip, Twentytu has everything and more than you can ask for! This year (our second visit) we took a group of 18 students (15 years old). When we arrived their comments were "Miss, this is like a hotel!!" (They were right 100%),"Miss, we don't have to share the shower!!".... Fab when you have to get 20 people ready in just 1 hour!! Lol Josep Aguilar, the hostel director, couldn't speak highly enough about him....Extremely helpful, friendly and attentive. He booked our trip to Sagrada Familia (private guide tour included) , excursions to Theme Park, Aquatic Park, airport transfer.... Even a gorgeous paella night at Twentytu's Terrace. Delicious, yummy, authentic paella (believe me, I am proper Spanish :)), flamenco music and dancer, comfy seats, fab views... Proper Spanish immersion...over the moon... Can't wait to come back next year! Thank you so much! Mil gracias chicos!
This is a just opened hotel in one of the best locations in Barcelona both for business and/or pleasure. It is in the intersection of Passeig de Gracia, Rambla Barcelona/Las Ramblas, near the flea market, movie theatres, bars, cafes, and restaurants, I was there for just 4 nights since they just had opened and it was a pleasure and I felt at home. I live in NY but I am Barcelonian by heart and I was surprised by the internationality and local feeling of the place. A historic building with new and welcoming infrastructure. a Medium size, cozy but grandiose place. People were very helpful , very knowledgeable and very open. Tatiana Pagés
The hotel is in a good location. In the Barcelona extension area, it takes about 20 minutes to walk from Plaza Catalunya. From the airport, you can take the airport bus to Barcelona University Plaza Station. Hotel room facilities are very good, courteous service, breakfast for 9 euros a bit, good value for money.
We booked this hotel super last minute as we found ourselves in an AirBnB close by that was awful. We booked in for the following night for a week then popped in to see if they'd had any cancellations so we could come a night earlier. The staff were super helpful, and although they didn't have space they offered to phone other hotels in the area for us to see if there were free spaces. They also insisted that we could drop our bags as early as we wanted the next day. So, at 7am the next day we headed over, dropped off our bags and went to explore the city. When we returned our bags were in our room waiting. The hotel was clean and modern, the bathroom had an amazing shower and the whole stay was wonderful. The hotel itself is within easy walking distance to La Rambla, gothic quarter etc as well as being next to a metro stop and close to the airport bus pick up/drop off point. There are some fantastic restaurants and bars close by and the free WiFi was great. Overall, great place.
An absolute storng point of this accommodation is its central position between Rambla de Catalunya and Passeo de Gracia (main shopping street in Barcelona), which allows you to explore Barcelone by walking. Rooms are clean (and cleaned every day if you wish), and well accommodated. They may seem a bit small at the first glance, but that is ok if you just need accommodation to sleep at night. A small weak point is the noise isolation, as the rooms are a part of an appartment, so you can hear your neighbours/fellow guests if they talk loudly. Also, view from the windows gives on another room, and there is no sun light. To sum it up, this is a great place to stay if you want to spend most of the time outside enjoying Barcelona and have a decent place to sleep over the night. Also, good price/localisation ratio and nice staff.
We were in Barcelona for only 24 hours after spending 2 weeks in France. This was a very quick trip for us since we realized Barcelona, Spain was only a 4-hour train ride from Marseille, France. Thank goodness I was traveling with 14 family members. The location of this AirBnB find could not be beat. We were close to everything. Next door was a fabulous restaurant called Rosa Negra, coffee shops, cafes, shopping galore. Definitely, a must visit location while in Barcelona. However, the accommodations were rather interesting. While the bedrooms were great in size and well appointed, it was the bathrooms that took me by surprise. Tiny showers and sinks, and cramped toilettes. I was taken aback to see two small showers in one bathroom. You really have to see it to believe it. The main living area was small but opened up to the main street. The kitchen and dining area were tucked away in the back where most of the bathrooms were. I did not find the kitchen or dining area very useful. I am so glad our stay was only for 24 hours; I don't think my family could have spent more than that together with this type of layout :) LOL If I could show you the video of the space you would understand. But at least it was clean and for 24 hours with family, it met our needs.
I booked this hotel in November for a July 2020 stay and unfortunately had to cancel due to Covid-19. The email communication with the hotel staff was thoughtful, informative, professional and courteous from my first inquiry email to the last and there were plenty because I had lots of questions, lol. I always do tons of research before I book anything and I was ecstatic when I came across Casa Camper for my stay before and after a Mediterranean cruise. It has all the amenities I wanted and then some plus it has large spacious, well air conditioned rooms. I was super excited to be able to book a non refundable room and save even more money after I had my airfare in place. Fast forward a few months and the next thing I know, my cruise was canceled. I reached out to the concierge by email and asked if I could get a credit or a refund. They wrote back to say yes, they’d give me credit for my non refundable bookings and would even extend the expiration to July of 2022. I was so very grateful for their understanding. Another month passed and it seems like the situation has gotten worse with more travel advisories in place. I wrote them again asking if they’d consider giving me a cash refund because it is a difficult time and I don’t know when I’ll be able to visit Barcelona. I know they were under no obligation to and they’ve already been nice enough to give me the credit, but I could really use that money right now and thought it couldn’t hurt to ask very nicely. They replied back pretty quickly to say yes, they can refund me. They also said they’d be in touch once the money is being processed by their accountant. I thanked them profusely and waited. In a couple weeks, I received another email from them to say the money has been refunded and that I’d see it in a couple days. I am so thankful that there are nice and decent people like the manager and staff of Casa Camper. People who understand that we are in an unprecedented global pandemic and every penny counts. I cannot wait until we can travel again safely and freely so I may visit Barcelona and stay at this amazing place. Thank you again. -Monica
My husband, son and I, went to Barcelona for the weekend. On arriving at the hotel, we were greeted by a very friendly, welcoming, informative lady behind the desk. The hotel room had two double beds, with a verander. The room and bathroom were very clean. Each time we saw a member of reception staff, they were friendly and ready to help. The hotel is located right in the centre of Barcelona, a great location for sightseeing. It was our son's 18th birthday and we went to watch a Barcelona match. On return to the hotel, the hotel had placed balloons and rose petals on the bed with a happy birthday message. We thought it was a very kind thoughtful thing to do. If you need a good, clean, friendly hotel in the centre of Barcelona, we recommend The May Ramblas Hotel.
This hotel is in the perfect location for anything you want to do. It's down a nice quiet street but a maximum 5 minute walk from the main square plus multiple metro stations in a very short distance so easy to get around. As with previous comments the beds are quite hard, perfect for me as I prefer the former mattress and was very comfy, my other half on the other hand really struggled to sleep and found the mattresses very uncomfortable. The hotel is mainly quiet, could barely hear neighbours which was perfect! There was a massive storm when we were there of which we could bear everything, the rain running down the roof, on the balcony, the wind making the balcony doors rattle. The staff are super friendly and were more than happy to help with anything. Would 100% stay here again and would definitely recommend!
4 of us stayed here for 4 nights and cannot fault the place at all. The location is brilliant, everything you want to see or need is either on your doorstep or close enough to walk too. And there's a small well stocked shop right outside the door, perfect for anything you may have forgotten to bring. The apartment itself was so good, just the right size, the beds were comfy, myself and my sister were expecting to have to share the sofa bed as we were in a 1 bedroom apartment but were very happy to find that there was a pull out bed underneath it. Having the codes to get in rather than keys made you feel very safe and it was nice not having to take keys around with us. Also, after our flight was delayed and we arrived long after we should have, there was no one at reception but because we had checked in online and they had sent us the codes via email, we had no problems getting in at all which was very reassuring after a very long day travelling. There is some noise due to the closeness of La Rambla but we expected this and actually once the windows are shut and the blinds are down, it's not too bad, we all slept very well. My personal only very small bad thing that I can say was that it would be good if they could attach the mirror on the wall by the apartment door by all four corners rather than just the 2 at the top as it rattled every time the underground Metro came past/underneath. We have all said that we would not hesitate to stay here again and would definitely recommend it to anyone coming to visit this beautiful city.
The location is perfect and the facility is very nice. The staff are very friendly. The best choice for traveling in Barcelona.
We have just returned from a 4 night stay and would highly recommend this hotel. Our room was clean and spacious and faced onto the square as we had requested. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful and assisted us with recommendations and tickets. The buffet breakfast was included in our booking and there was a big selection with something that should suit everyone. I was a bit worried about the location after reading some other reviews, but we had nothing to be concerned about and found it very central with a choice of restaurants etc within very easy reach. We would definitely return to this hotel again.
A really great location a few minutes walk from La Rambla, and next to the Placa de la Merce with the beautiful church. The room was small and basic, but comfortable with doors leading out to a nice shared terrace at the back. Hairdryer in the bathroom! Very quiet at night except for a few other guests returning home late. The staff were very friendly and helpful and though they spoke only a little English we managed to communicate. There are numerous bars, restaurants and a supermarket close by. It is a little expensive for basic accommodation but it is in the heart of Barcelona and was just right for my 2 night short stay in the city.
Really convenient because it is close to the central area. The hotel is beautiful and it doesn't mean there is anything special, but I recommend it.
This was a great Hotel I have a reservation and I arrived very early and they holded my bags until I returned at almost 11pm to do the check up great service
Friendly and helpful staff. Hostel clean and comfortable. The room spacious and great location. Supermarket 24 hours nearby. Walking distance to La Rambla. Looking forward to stay here again. Kudos to staff. Lovely staff.
Downstairs is Rambla Street, the room is large and there are two bathrooms, the price is affordable, you can also cook, kitchen supplies are readily available. The most cost-effective place to stay in Barcelona.
