It is convenient because it is a short walk from the light rail station. It was disappointing about the facilities in the room, such as there being no chair in the room and the handle of the hair dryer getting hot when used. The quality of the breakfast buffet changed depending on the day, but the vegetables and fruits were fresh and delicious. It was nice to be able to leave my luggage on the last day. I would like to use it again when I come to Jerusalem.

This is a great hotel if you are looking to stay in Palestine, but sadly if you are looking to visit Bethkehem and other attractions in Israel, its a difficult task to find. The hotel and staff were fabulous. If I was to return, I would consider staying again. There was easy accessible underground parking with rlevators dorectly to the rooms.

Location is not bad, 7 or 8 minutes walk from the central station, the facilities are also relatively new, both rooms have balconies and floor-to-ceiling windows, high terrain, good view, good health and breakfast, with swimming pool, but the front desk service is quite Poor, from the time of check-in due to the mistakes of his staff, overcharged the room rate of the room, the staff did not care when they negotiated, always said that the extra money on the credit card has nothing to do with them, when invoicing, It is not very patient to ask for a unit header and name. I have been to a dozen countries and rarely see such a service!

I've stayed in Jerusalem many, many times in many different hotels, including the Inbal, King David, Orient, Plaza, etc. There was limited availability at our usual hotels at the time that we wanted to stay in November, so we took a chance on the Prima Royale. It is located a stone's throw away from the Inbal and the Dan Panorama. We were thoroughly pleased that the hotel exceeded all expectations. The staff were all pleasant and helpful. The room was updated, very clean, and very comfortable. The shower was good. The breakfast and Shabbat dinner were great. They weren't as extravagant as what you'd find in a five star hotel, but the buffets were extensive and the food was all delicious. This was an outstanding hotel experience at less than half the cost of the fanciest places in the area. We would definitely come back. Highly recommend!!

We checked in to the hotel for a 2 night weekend stay. We had booked a room with an Old City view. Unfortunately, the view was of another hotel opposite, the First Station and the Mount of Olives. If I leaned out if the window and looked left I could see the Old City. The room was very tastefully furnished, with a comfortable bed and spacious bathroom with separate bath and shower. The hotel has a shallow indoor lap pool, next to a well equipped gym. There is an outdoor infinity pool on the roof with amazing panoramic views in 3 directions. It gets windy up there and the pool was very cold. There is an indoor meat bar on the roof, which we went to, but left soon after as it was freezing at night. I would recommend improving the heating in there. Breakfast was a very high standard with an excellent selection and high quality. Hot drinks and eggs are served to the table. Dinner on Friday night was the best I'd ever had. There was an extensive selection with very good meats in the carvery. The food was further enhanced by the excellent service by the dining room staff. We also enjoyed treatments in the spa. The spa receptionist was very friendly and helpful. The lobby bar serves good cocktails and food. The staff in the hotel are very service oriented, from the room cleaners, to the reception staff (apart from one rude receptionist). Fadi at reception ensured that the guests got the best service and should be commended.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Cinema Hostel. i think it has been one of my fave hostels to stay at. I had a private room. I think mine (room 12) was one of the more spacious ones as i had a sneaky look at the one next to me and mine seemed a little bit bigger with a better layout. However the room isn’t big to begin with but it is a hostel and does the job. Bed was comfortable. Shower pressure was good but the shower itself is also small. However the best part of this place is the vibe. The staff and volunteers are fantastic. They make an effort to get to know you and are very friendly and helpful. The common area is set up well and allows for easy interaction with other guests. Made friends with a lovely English couple and we ended up traveling to Masada together! Breakfast is good. Eggs, breads, some salads, cereals etc. The added bonus of being able to make your own pancakes was great! It’s in a good location. Not far from a mini mart and food options. About a 15 min walk from Jaffa Gate and the Old City. I would def recommend this place. Just make sure you do the online check in if you are arriving after 11pm otherwise i heard that they don’t let you in! Thanks to Tivet (hope i got your name right!) and Ali for their lovely chats and help. Cheers!

The hotel is relatively old. It’s on the Mount of Olives. The food in the restaurant is okay. Compared to other hotels in Israel, the cost is considered conscientious. Location is good next to New Gate. Roof top is good too for panoramic view of Jerusalem. Room is just standard. Cleanliness is good too. Reception is friendly good service. No Swimming Pool. Restaurant is very poor for the daily rate of this hotel it only compensate the location. Breakfast is the same every single morning that when i went to eat on our 5th day, i cannot eat anymore its just so boring to eat. Boring dining set up. Utensils and plates and also Hot water pots are all dated where at the end i was bored and apetite lost. I felt like eating in a carenderia at the end. Staff are friendly. I would recommend more food selections in breakfast and dining lay outs as its a bit crowded as you enter and a dead area at the end corner. Curtains are dated too. Room Wifi- only 1 dot where we have to go out of the room to get proper signal. Alegro Cafe- no comments best for me- wifi, service, food, cleanliness is superb.

Agripas Boutique Hotel

Our travel group -- one of the few allowed into Israel during this time of covid -- stayed for four nights at the Agripas Hotel in mid-October 2021. Unfortunately, I have to report that one of our travelers had an item stolen from his room. The hotel is built on a small footprint, but the location for those who want to be close to the action is excellent -- a couple of blocks from the main intersection of Jaffa Street (with its light rail) and King George Street, (with its many bus lines) and a five minute walk to the very lively Machane Yehuda market. However, there's construction going on in this area, so the rat-tat-tat of jackhammers can bleed through even closed hotel windows. A small hotel also means small rooms. Those in our group who had the smallest single person rooms found them constricting. My wife and I had a larger, twin bed room, with a little more space. However, the size of the showers (no bathtubs) was miniscule, ours being perhaps two feet by two feet. There were electrical outlets near our beds and at the room's desk. The door lock opened with a key card which several times in our four days failed to function and had to be reset. For the Sabbath, a physical key was available to borrow for those who wanted. The hotel has an enclosed breakfast room on the roof, which can be accessed only by a flight of stairs from the fourth floor, which would make it difficult for a handicapped person to get to. The breakfasts were not lavish but certainly decent enough, with a chef who whipped up some specialty items. However, breakfast was not served on the Sabbath, Saturday. Beyond the theft from a colleague's room, what struck me was the inattention to needed detail. When our group checked in, our leader found that there were no towels or toilet paper in her room. The room for my wife and me was not ready. On one day, the sole, slightly used soap bar was removed, but not replaced. The same with a shower cap. On our floor, a group of French visitors asked management that the hallway lights be turned off (to prevent their kids from congregating there?), so for the entire Sabbath (Friday to Saturday nights) the hallway was dark. Our colleague who'd been victimized by the theft has spoken to and communicated several times with the manager. It's now one and half weeks since we checked out, and the matter remains unresolved, even an offer of reimbursement for the taken item. Security: We noticed several times that there was no one at the lobby's front desk, and there's no security guard. Anyone could have walked in and gone up the elevator or stairs. If the Agripas Hotel could get its act together more, it would be a decent three-star hotel. But certainly not yet.

The location is very good. A few minutes walk from the old city. Standard bed room. I am very fortunate to give the room a curtain to see the dome mosque. The bathroom in the room is quite big and very clean. The staff is very nice. Every day, I clean the room and change the towel. The breakfast is a little less but it is OK. The guests are mostly Muslim but have no effect. There is free parking. It is very convenient to drive to Jerusalem. At the hotel, I was very worried about getting away from the light rail station. It was not a few minutes away. I also arrived at the hotel. In the Muslim residential area, the Sabbath also has convenience stores and restaurants. The door-to-door experience is very satisfying. I like Jerusalem. If you have a chance to go again, you will definitely choose Stay here!

The terrace area is lovely. The staff are polite and helpful. There is 24/7 tea and coffee in the lounge which is great. Our bedroom was very comfortable but on the small side. When we booked we should have requested a room with bath, they were all taken when we checked in. A nice touch of luxury is bathrobes and slippers in the room. We stayed here for 3 nights after our tourism company booked this hotel for us. It was...uncomfortable. We arrived as a bible study of some sort was going on in the lobby and were met with silence and stares upon entering. Upon getting to our room, the bathroom design is ridiculous, at best, not allowing you to really enter the bathroom at all. I fear to think how many bare butts have brushed the door handle. The second day, the entry keys stopped working and had to be re-keyed. The power to half the room was out, we were so tired, we just went to bed thinking it would be back on in the morning. The third day, despite putting up our ”do not enter” sign, someone cleaned our room. The keys again did not work. It was Shabbat, so the hotel receptionist almost refused to help at all until we pleaded we were unable to get into our room when he unenthusiastically handed us an actual metal key to get in...thanks. Power still off to half the room. The other guests had the lights out in their rooms, which meant their children were running through the hallways, as these were the only lighted spaces all night. Glad to leave.

Lovely small hotel in a very peaceful old neighbourhood which is thankfully holding back the developers. Very warm welcome from the owners - interesting history of the family and the building. I wanted somewhere quiet but walkable (station and old city) and 100% made a good choice. From the train station I would recommend getting the light rail to Mahane Yehuda and walk down through the market, as there is a huge amount of construction around the station (no noise at the hotel though). Obviously for it's size, reception isn't 24/7, so it was a little more effort to arrange check-in/out times (compared with a chain hotel), but no real inconvenience. Room was excellent - modern / clean and spacious (separate room for my son). Touring tips: (1) do Yad Vashem - easy journey by light rail (2) for a great rooftop view in the old city, look for the Austrian Hospice (towards Damascus Gate) - 5 shekels well spent. (3) do Bethlehem (take some decent maps) - get the 231 bus over the road from Damascus Gate. (4) for an easier/quicker route to the Western Wall / Temple Mount, turn right immediately after going through the Jaffa Gate. At 8am I saw less than 10 people on my way across...

We stayed at Sergei Palace for 9 nights, from April 5-14. This was part of a 4-week visit in Israel. The other nights we stayed at 5 other hotels – arranged by the tour we participated in. Our choice of Sergei Palace was initially due to a desire for a larger hotel room. This did not disappoint. Indeed, the rooms and bathrooms were spacious. For the most part, we enjoyed our stay at Sergei Palace. However, lots of room for improvement. This review serves as an open letter to the hotel manager at large, Mr Andre. Pros: - Larger room, larger bathroom, including spacious shower stall. - Clean. Wish to thank Ms Virginia, the housekeeping staff, who to me was the star of the show. On our first morning, I made a special request for doorknobs, door handles, light switches to be sterilized. Virginia came in and did so. I was very pleased by her service, cheerful attitude, and pleasant manners. Ms Virginia made us feel like we were royal visitors. - Bed was comfortable. - Corridor has nice décor. - As everyone has mentioned, beautiful courtyard. - Separate entrance to our wing. - A special thank you to receptionist Mr Bashar who greeted us each time he saw us. Cons: - Ms Elana, the manager of the hotel restaurant, this is for you: Getting breakfast at the Sergei Palace can be a real problem. You either get your food – if you have breakfast on the HOTEL’S TERMS. Or you get PART of your food. Or you get a scolding. Either way, breakfast at the Sergei Palace restaurant was not a pleasant experience. [If you care for the details, here you go: As a couple, you go to the restaurant, and they serve you a tray of food which consists of 8 little bowls of food, such as a small bowl of cheese, a small bowl of hummus, etc. I understand you can have refills. You also get your choice of eggs. Then depending on who is serving you, you may be offered a dessert (pancakes or croissants) or not. The tray with 8 little bowls is for the couple TO SHARE. However, if as a couple you have breakfast separately (for example, if one is an early riser), then you will either get scolded for not coming together because the tray is meant FOR SHARING. So then you, as the guest, apologize profusely. After all, you are on vacation and you cannot get up in the morning at the same time as your spouse. So you become an inconvenience to the restaurant staff So they tell you that to resolve this, the first person will get HALF a tray (ie 4 little bowls) and the second person will later get the other HALF (4 other bowls). But when I (the second person) came down for breakfast, my “half” tray never arrived.] - We later learned that the restaurant is managed separately from the hotel. So our star rating of 3 stars is combined from 4 stars for the hotel experience, and 2 stars for the restaurant experience. Thank you. - Receptionists were not able to answer this simple question, “Are there any restaurants open today?” It was our 3rd Sabbath in Jerusalem, and we wanted to expl
