My friends and I loved staying at this place! The owner is a lovely Italian lady who is passionate about Rome and showing her guests it’s beauty! She pulled out a map and told us all the places we needed to go and how to really experience Rome. This place is in a great area, and you can get to everything easily from here. She serves tasty chocolate croissants in the morning, and everything has a very homey feel to it. There’s not a lot of space in the rooms, but that is the norm in Rome! Our only disappointment was we couldn’t get ahold of anyone when we tried to drop our luggage off for luggage storage. The check in time is strict, and you won’t be able to store your luggage until check in time as there is no front desk or anyone there to let you in. However we found a luggage storage place a couple blocks over! I believe you can store your luggage there after checkout, though! Overall, it was a truly amazing experience and if I ever go back to Rome, I will stay there!

Our host Antonio was amazing! Before we set off for Rome he contacted me to check if we required help getting from the airport and arranged a taxi to be at FCO airport waiting for us. When we arrived at the apartment, we did struggle to locate the correct building, but that was easily remedied by looking up over the doors for number 30. Antonio was waiting for us to arrive, buzzed us straight in and told us to make our way to floor 5. Our mistake was to ring the bell to apartment 5 but a very kind Italian lady when I asked for Antonio she directed us on up but we were met in the hallway by the man himself to give us a hand into the lift to the right apartment. The apartment was exactly as expected from the previous reviews and photos, decorated nicely, well equipped and amazing location for seeing the city from the Vatican (which was a 5 minute stroll) and more. Antonio showed us round the apartment, asked if we had any questions and took payment fuss free. With a few restaurant business cards in hand we set off on two and a half days of amazing site seeing from a wonderful, comfortable base. Bedding and towels changed everyday and stocks of water and coffee replenished too. I can’t reccommend this property and the host enough, Antonio invited us to contact him on WhatsApp with any questions we had, which happened to only be at the end of our break to assist with arranging a taxi back to the airport. Amazing all round and will definitely recommend to all friends and family, and when we return would stay here again.

As stated in the other review listed here, there is a late check in fee. In our case 40 euros. The location is great, however, we had some issues. Having issues isn't what leads us to warn you about this property. As you see from the other review here, you'll have your character attacked and be blamed If you raise concerns. We had no hot water one of the days, which is an issue we've seen raised my other reviews on booking.com and priceline. What alarmed us and led to our leaving at 2am on our fourth night was a staff member walking into our room after midnight because he was checking in another guest. This is a two bedroom, one bathroom apartment you'll share with other guests. The kitchen can't be used and do to the layout it isn't realistic to expect to use the living area to be used either. Despite our jumping up startled, there wasn't even an apology for bursting into our room. In fact, when we contacted the staff to say this had happened, they denied it occurred at all to Booking.com and then to us stated it was the other guests and they couldn't be responsible for that happening.... it was definitely staff as we heard them loudly checking in the other guests for the next several minutes. We own a travel consulting company and travel the world and we've never encountered this attitude. We requested a refund for one night stay due to the lack of safety feeling, disruption and hot water on our last day and what we got was lies and insults.

i stayed here for a week, from 5 feb. It is a converted apartment, into 4 holiday rooms. Just a 5 minute walk from the Ottaviano metro station, it is in a quiet area within a steady10 minute walk of St Peters basilica and piazza and 5 minute walk of the Vatican museums. There are numerous restaurants and café bars in the area aswell as small supermarkets and a burger king and mcdonalds. when you reach the property which is in a large apartment building, you need to ring the intercom for camera del camerlengo on the street outside, then the owners sister will come to meet you and take you up to the apartment. The rooms are on the 4th floor but there is an elevator so is accessable for disabled travellers. The room we had no4 was spacious with a large double bed, wardrobe, mini fridge, sofa bed, t.v, nicely decorated bathroom, air con, radiator. the room was impeccably clean and had maid service daily, breakfast is served in your room each morning between 8 and 10am, you simply choose from a list of what you would like by 6pm the evening before and leave in the lobby area, tea coffee juice cereal croissant yoghurt etc {no hot dishes}. This is by no means a luxury apartment but clean, very comfortable, and secure, we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

This is the second time I've stayed here. The rooms are always clean and neat, Enrico is extremely helpful. I wanted to arrive in Rome a day earlier than planned but there was no availability. Enrico searched the entire area to try to accommodate us. He gives great recommendations on where to eat and provides you with a map of the area showing where you are in relation to hot spots. The bathrooms are in your room and super clean. Included in the cost is your breakfast which you take at a local bar across the street. That place is open 24 hours so even if you are up at 5 you can have something. There is a lovely little terrace where you can have coffee or a drink that is accessible from the hallway. The rooms have a kettle and refrigerator. I will definitely stay again. Thanks Enrico for another great stay in Rome!!

Stayed here with my husband for 3 nights in September and had a lovely time. The location is great, near the Vatican and the neighborhood has lots of great bars, and food places, also the best coffee place in Rome in my opinion! Very easy to walk places or just hop on the metro. The room itself was a good size, nice large window and modern en suite, cleaned well with good amenities, such as a mini fridge and usb dock. The terrace is nice, but we didn't end up having the breakfast there. A few minor issues, the one morning we thought we might have a coffee the machine wasn't working, the WIFI was initially great but that stopped working on our last day and the water in the shower was completely cold (not a massive issue because it was so hot when we were there, but warm would've been nice!). The bed was very comfortable, which is exactly what you need after a long day walking around. For the price and other positives staying here is well worth it.

This is the worst experience I've ever had traveling over 30+ years. This is NOT a hotel or "guest house". This is a low rent apartment converted to rooms. Dark and dingy. There's no sound proofing between walls, so any little noise is amplified. Was yelled at and mistreated at check in for questioning additional city tax and asking for further information which was NOT stated in my confirmation emails. I even pulled up all my emails to show the receptionist that it stated paid in full. He wasn't able to explain anything, so he put Anna on the phone, who started to aggressively yell at me. It wasn't until nearly 20 minutes later that I finally found general information online about the additional city tax. On the booking site, and in their own notes, it states information on additional charges such as late check-in fees, etc, but NO INFO on the (hidden) city tax per person, per night fee. Also would like to clarify that a "guest house" connotes a warm, family-like atmosphere. Being yelled at on the phone is not welcoming. The white leather couch at the entrance was disgustingly dirty. Once we were "checked in" there was no one there providing any service or oversight. Oh wait, there's cameras, so it's a "guest house". Let's be clear too, this is an OLD APARTMENT (not in the charming sense) in the center of Rome, chopped up into 4 rooms. They are renovated but have very poor ventilation, and as a consequence our bathroom floor and shower was MOLDY. What concerned me the most, however, was that the young man at makeshift "front desk" entered our room and I had to ask him to leave immediately. Very uncomfortable and unprofessional. When I told him his behavior was unacceptable, at first he arrogantly blowed it off, until I threatened to call the police. Suddenly he quieted down. It was like talking to a misbehaved child. Something felt very weird about the whole exchange, and when I went back to the room immediately called my husband to find us a new hotel. I checked the reviews, which we should have looked at initially, and noticed a similar pattern. At first the apartment owner (father of the 30 year old young man who checked us in) refused to cancel our booking, and said his son was "only trying to show us how to use the coffee maker". Total lie, since he never mentioned it at all and my daughter is witness to his entering our room. Creepy experience. Thank God we were only there one night, and were able to move to a new hotel around the corner. I left a review at hotels.com, and you can read Anna's response. It's telling how she bulletpoints each concern with a rebuttal, like it's my fault for not knowing about the city tax, when it's NOT in the confirmation email, and somehow the guy entering our room turns into "showing us how to use the air conditioning". No, that's not what happened at all. I told the receptionist I was going to leave a negative review AFTER he entered our room. I would never advise two women to stay at this hotel

San Giovanni
A quirky hotel converted from an old monastery but with the central Basilica of the Holy Cross still intact and still in use (and worth a visit). It is also right next to the old city wall and the Basilica di San Giovanni in Laterano, the cathedral church of Rome, is just down the road (also well worth a visit). The hotel is located a bit out of the centre of town but there are plenty of restaurants, pizzeria etc in the area and it felt very safe walking around at night. A taxi to The Vatican cost €16. Our room was at the front of the hotel overlooking the Piazza and a busy road which meant that it was quite noisy at night, other rooms may be quieter. The room itself was basic with a wardrobe, a chair and a dressing table which had a (not very efficient) fridge built in. There was also a TV on the wall (no international channels) and a safe in the wardrobe. The bed was very comfortable. No Wi-Fi was available in the room. The bathroom had a shower, basin, toilet and bidet. All the chromework needs a good scrub to bring the shine back and there were patches of mould in places around the shower. The bathroom was also equipped with a hair dryer. An underground corridor, lined with sofas and chairs and with a rounded ceiling, led to the breakfast room. The food was basic – meat, cheese, bread, cakes and fruit – but was tasty enough. Coffee and juices were also available. The receptionists we met were friendly and helpful. They also spoke good English. What the hotel lacks most is a central area, probably a bar, where you can spend time outside your room without sitting in a corridor with nothing to look at but some walls. There is a roof terrace but some inside space would be good. If we went back to Rome we probably wouldn’t stay here but wouldn’t be too disappointed if there was no other choice.

This hotel is in the San Lorenzo neighbourhood, which is a 20 minute walk from Roma Termini. Upon arrival I was met with welcoming staff who were very responsive and polite. The woman at the desk gave lots of advice about transport routes, shopping and attractions which was extremely helpful. I was in a wonderful, spotlessly clean room with a modern interior. My bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was impeccably clean. There was storage for clothes and a safe for valuables. Opposite the bed there was a large SMART TV with free WiFi (very fast) which is a brilliant feature. It was wonderful to be able to come back after a long day walking around Rome, to wind down to a movie. The option of air conditioning/heating control was great. There was no view from the window (as expected, given the location). But do not be put off by this! The hotel is in a fairly quiet area, which offers a better nights sleep compared to busier, more central hotels (right next to Termini for example). I had the breakfast buffet which had mostly continental options with limited options for vegetarians/vegans. I was disappointed that the only hot food available for vegetarians was scrambled eggs, but I am sure that the hotel would be able to accommodate dietary requirements upon request (as stated on their website). I was not too bothered as the selection of pastries and breads made up for this! Overall, I would not hesitate to book a room with this group again. I highly recommend this place is you are visiting Rome. I have no real complaints!

My girlfriend and I arrived here late after a long drive down from the Amalfi coast. On arrival, Giorgio made us feel welcomed and relaxed. He was excellent and advising how best to spend our two days in Rome and also gave us great advice on public transport as well as great inexpensive restaurants to try that wouldn't just be tourist traps or needlessly expensive (especially as we are two travellers on a strict budget). He also tried to fix our AC as it wasn't working properly meaning our room was more akin to a sauna - not ideal when it is still nearly 25 degrees at 10pm. He offered to move us and dragged our heavy cases up and down flights of stairs and through narrow doorways to make sure we were comfortable here. Genuinely a lovely guy and I would certainly stay here again when we return to Rome in future. The rooms are basic but ideal for a cheaper alternative and those who want to make their money go a little further. The restaurant he recommended was delicious and only set us back €35 for two arge pasta dishes, a side of bruschetta, two large beers and a table water. Pretty good for a European capital in the height of August. Thank you for your outstanding service, Giorgio - from two very satisfied customers!

Stayed here for a night because we were planning to take the train from Roma Termini the next day. It was so convenient - we got off the Leonardo Express at Termini and reached the hotel on foot within 5 minutes. Front desk staff was very warm and friendly, and gave us lots of tips on where to go during the short time we had in Rome. It was walkable to lots of things to eat and do - for example, we got to the Spanish Steps in 15 minutes on foot at a relaxed pace. Room was very comfortable and clean. We had a lovely complimentary breakfast delivered straight to our room on a tray - I loved the way they let us order, by ticking boxes on a sign and hanging it outside the door (if you are really hungry you can order as much as you want!) The staff were kind enough to let us get breakfast at 645am so that we could catch our early train, even though usually breakfast starts at 7am. The only things that could be improved are that the pillows are quite flat, and in our room the water temperature ran hot and cold rather unpredictably. Otherwise, a pleasant stay.

We stayed at the Via Cavour 150 location and it was great. Walking distance to most of the city and a quick Uber if you got tired. Only a 150 meters from the metro and great night life just a block away. Lost of local eateries. Simple breakfast nook, just enough to get the day started. Staff was friendly and at your call on the phone. Warning, if you are a needy traveler who requires constant front desk service, this is not for you. If you are an independent traveler who can make your own plans and make your own way. Fantastic place. Don't get me wrong, if you need help, the staff is only a phone call or email away and they were very helpful with check in and checkout, they are just not sitting at a vacant front desk. Our family of 6 stayed at this boutique hotel for four nights during our trip to Italy last summer. We chose this hotel based on its location and amenities and we were not disappointed. The hotel is situated on a quiet street near Barbarini Square which has a metro stop and taxi stand. It is a ten minute walk to the Spanish Steps and Trevi fountain. The hotel itself is beautiful and modern. The rooms are larger than rooms we stayed in other hotels while on our trip with nice bathrooms and very comfy beds. The rooms were quiet due to its location and excellent soundproofing between rooms. The breakfasts were in the lower section of the hotel with indoor and outdoor seating. The food was good and we never had to wait for a table. We particularly enjoyed the rooftop bar where we would gather for drinks before heading out to dinner. The staff at the hotel were both helpful and friendly. One of our daughters left her retainer in the room and the hotel staff found it and shipped it back to the United States along with a few other items we had left and not realized. One downside was in the evenings the front desk struggled to get us taxis to get to our dinners. Sometimes we would have to wait 30 minutes. The staff tried their best to get them, but they just had a hard time getting them there. I am not sure if it was because of the location of the hotel or if it is just difficult to get taxis at that time of day. Overall, this was an exceptional stay for us and would definitely stay here again.

Because the hotel has only 7 suites, and they are all located on the same floor, it feels more at home, and the public space is more like a big house The living room, corridor, living room...a bit of living under the same roof, the decoration details are very exquisite, and it beats the Armani hotel🤘 The only problem is that there are no children's slippers, toothbrushes, etc., the bar on the top floor is like a nightclub, and children are not allowed to enter...

Always a debate to stay in a hotel or in an apartment. In case of Rome, we decided to stay in this apartment, and we never regret. Owners always ready to help you with your inquiry. Good breakfast, excellent coffee, and small kitchen with few pans and pots, so you can cook for yourself. We did it. Like anywhere in Rome, if you are a light sleeper, ask for an apartment at the higher floor. Very unique even for Rome hotels, card reader to your room. You always feel safe and private. No problem with wi-fi. I recommend it, and if we visit Rome again we will stay there. Close to metro station. 5 min to Via del Corso, famous prestigious boutique center. We stayed here for six days, the old hotel room was small but the health was very good, the breakfast was simple but the basic things were there, especially the raw ham and all kinds of sausages I loved. My wife and I usually stay at hotels one price class below Vilon, but after 3 months in Covid lock-down we wanted to splurge on a truly exclusive experience while on a city trip to Rome in June 2020. We were not disappointed. We spent 3 nights at Vilon and everything was perfect - the interior decoration of the room and dining areas (tasteful and timeless, with a lovely breakfast room and interior court yard, mid-century furniture, plants and art everywhere), the location (within walking distance of the Trevi Fountain, Spanish steps, Borghese park) and perhaps most of all the excellent service (exceedingly attentive, polite, friendly and knowledgeable). Breakfast was lovely and dinner at the restaurant (Adelaide) the best meal we had while in Rome, and reasonably priced. We hope to come back to Rome soon - we were not able to visit the Colosseum and Vatican Galleries this time as tickets were in limited supply due to Covid - and will definitely stay at Vilon again when we do. A big thank you to all the staff for making our stay so special.

Trevi Fountain Surrounding
Hotel location is very good, in the center of Rome, about 50 meters from the famous Trevi Fountain, to Venice Square, Colosseum, Plaza de España and other attractions can be walked, only 3 km from the Vatican, shopping and dining are very convenient. Belonging to the B&B category, in an old building, there is a single bed outside, a 1.8-meter double bed in the room, the washstand, the shower and the toilet are separated, and the total area is about 30 square meters. Suitable for young couples living with a baby, there is no extra bed space in the room. The rooms are fully equipped and clean. The hotel does not have a lift, but the hotel can help to bring the luggage into the room, the service is good, will try to meet the guests' requirements. Breakfast in the small restaurant next to the downstairs, there are bread, cake, pizza, eggs, fruit, sausage, cheese, milk, black tea, coffee, etc. It is good, recommend the grilled pizza, not as salty as other restaurants. It tastes good. The central area of Rome is very old buildings and streets. The road is narrow and the parking is not convenient. The hotel is not on the main street. The advantage is that the sleeping is very quiet. The disadvantage is that there is no parking space. Special reminder: Be sure to check the store time in advance, check in after 9 pm, add money!

Spagna
This “hotel” is an ideal location walking distance to the Trevi fountain, Piazza novena, and the pantheon… We had a tour at the Vatican museums and with a small bite to eat along the way were able to walk back from even there! That being said this hotel is not really a hotel… More of a glorified Airbnb! Let me clarify… It is located on the fourth floor of a shopping center building and the “hotel” contains only four rooms… no signage is prominently displayed in said shopping area, just a small plaque above the doorbell, as if you were going to visit someone’s flat or apartment. Upon checking in we received four keys: one for the front door that leads to the shopping area, One for the elevator to get it to go to the fourth floor of this “hotel”, one for stairway door on the fourth floor, and then finally one for our room. The rooms are fine very modern looking but they are tiny, the shower door is so closely placed to the bidet that the bidet has a foam square adhered to it to ensure the glass does not bang into the porcelain of the bidet… The passageway that you have to squeeze your way inbetween to get into the shower is incredibly tiny, I am not an overweight man but I struggled to get into the shower… There is no doubt in my mind if you weighed over 200 pounds you would struggle even more to enter the shower. The breakfast buffet is located on the terrace… It included cornflakes, cappuccinos from a Keurig you would have in your house, and some small store bought croissants and scrambled eggs, hardley a spread one would anticipate from a place called a luxury suite. The walls are razor thin one night we were awoken several times by the ringing of the front reception phone, With there only being four rooms in the hotel our room was literally down the hall from reception. Upon check out the receptionist insisted we settle our room bar items bill and city tax with cash until ultimately relenting and allowing us to use our credit card. Again I am not familiar with any luxury suite hotels that refuse to take credit card. Overall an excellent location but not at all what we were anticipating and a poor excuse for a hotel.

Termini Central Station
The Italian stayed in Rome for the longest time, so I chose a hotel that is a bit more expensive than the other three cities. It turns out that the hotel is really good. The hotel is 900 meters away from the Rome train station. Do not drag the boxes. You can see the traffic is very convenient. Basically, you can take the subway to the first attraction in the morning. You can walk back to the hotel and use the bus or subway at night. There is no need to buy Roma Pass. The breakfast in the bathtub was very rich. I ate for four days without getting tired. If I return to Rome in the future, I will still choose this hotel. You can rest assured to book this one.

Pantheon
Hotel Mimosa is located in the perfect location for visiting Rome, and it was very clean and comfortable, at a very good price; I would definitely stay here again, it was a great value. What was so nice about the location was that not only was it near the Pantheon and easy walking distance to everything (we walked everywhere, but the buses at Largo Argentina were only a block away), but the area was low-key and not overly touristy and felt safe at night. I would suggest asking for a room away from the street; ours faced the street, and I enjoyed the view, but there were various noises on the street during the night, from shouting men to garbage trucks, that kept us awake the first night (after that, we walked so much each day that we slept through it!). The hotel itself consisted of the second floor in a large block building, with an elevator. A small reception, a breakfast room, and the guest rooms (maybe 10 of them?) made up the hotel; decor was 1970s and somewhat shabby, but everything was clean. Our room was one of the largest, and was very spacious. The beds were on the firm side but comfortable, with plenty of pillows; also there was a small desk and chair in the room, and a large wardrobe. The bathroom was tiny but well-appointed, with good shower pressure, a large sink, and a hairdryer, and was very clean. The towels were large and soft. The breakfast buffet offered choice of bread, pastries and cakes, salami and cheese, scrambled eggs, two cereals, fruit, tea, coffee, and juices. All fresh and tasty. Finally, the staff were friendly and helpful; they arranged transport from and to the airport at a good price (via email, before we arrived), and assisted with whatever we needed. Altogether a great stay!
