I went to Myanmar mission with my students and family. First of all, the hotel was built by Chinese, and the staff were fluent in Chinese, and the type of tea in the hotel was Chinese style. Breakfast was also Chinese style. There was no heterogeneity and it was good. The interior of the hotel is the same as the screen. It's very high-end. However, the cleaning is not very meticulous ^^

The lobby is just as good as the rooms. The layout is similar to that of Vienna in China, but there are no office desks. The price/performance ratio is more expensive than in China. Breakfast There are few varieties, only a few flavors. The breakfast is not half the variety of domestic Hanting. It imitates Chinese breakfast. The breakfast level needs to be improved. The hotel cannot accept credit cards or pay online. You can only give gold at the front desk, and ask for a little stamp for a little discount No charge. . . speechless dead

Received a gift voucher from my sis-in-law to stay at a Gary Player Suite. The rooms are wide and clean - the bathroom as well. Loved taking a shower there. The view is fantastic and it's just so relaxing to lie on the bed, take in the golf course scenery and just use your phone on the bed. Nice to chill. Although the hotel provided mosquito repellent liquid, mosquitoes just won't die there. It is a nice getaway place and there is a bar and a restaurant on the ground floor of the hotel. The lobby is in the open space, so you can just relax there with the cool breeze coming in from the golf course. I will blame Covid19 for not being able to enjoy a buffet breakfast at the hotel restaurant. The waiters just gave us a set menu to choose from. Try the Healthy Breakfast set. It is by far the best menu there. Not many guests during the Covid19 period but the waiters forgot to serve us coffee which was imcluded in the set menu. Conclusion: a nice quiet place to just chill (nothing else), there are two other restaurants / cafes nearby... and most importantly, prepare your own mosquito repellent spray, especially in the Monsoon Season as the mosquitoes are no joke!!

A hotel with very good service. I will call to remind you that you have breakfast tomorrow. When the room is opened, the front desk will lead you to your room. Okay I don't usually send reviews but, Gemsy is one of the best value places to stay in Yangon and totally underrated - 23 year YGN vet here. Under 2 year old hotel so the photos are 100% accurate. Stayed here for 7 weeks in May/June 2020 in different rooms including their main royal gemsy, all top notch, even gave me a tour of other options which are all as pic showed. Location not downtown (so maybe not perfect for some), but supermarket a 1min walk away, street food and many restaurants under 3min walk, also on main bus route if wanting to travel as a local further, ofc taxi easy via grab. On staff can only say great, GM Ma Irene perfect, Ma Phyu at reception awesome, other staff also all wearing masks so mmmm names missing but all great and chatty. Simply no negative issues, wish they opened buffet brekkie, but understand during covid, though they will deliver to your room free. Can say much more, but a perfect spot to stay in YGN for sure.

The hotel is built by Chinese investment, close to Yangon Airport, the surrounding environment is very good, lush trees. Opposite is a large golf course affiliated to the hotel, you can walk. Shopping nearby is not convenient, squatting kyat coins. Dollars, RMB refuses. There are more mosquitoes in the hotel room, it is best to bring your own electric mosquito coil.

This is our second visit together and yet again expectations were met. This is a unique family ran team, from housekeeping, restaurant service, through to reception staff and general staff. Every member well trained and focused on their responsibilities. Great food and service in the bistro, perfect execution of dishes and waiting staff incredibly well versed in their duties. Friendly good mornings, coffee delightful (get that extra shot). There's no need to look elsewhere this is a unique refreshing and homely place to stay. Breakfast is OK, there are more types to choose from. Breakfast is the same as most hotels from 6:30 to 9:30. The room I stayed in could not have an extra bed. Suitable for children. The location of the hotel is very good, easy to find, very close to the Ruiguang Golden Pagoda. There is a small parking lot in the hotel. It is no problem to park five or six cars, but there are only one or two cars in normal times. The front desk service is especially good. If you go out to play more expensive, they will help you to call the taxi price will be more reasonable. When I left the store, I was in the morning flight. The breakfast at 6:30 allowed me to dine at six o'clock. The front desk service manager I have contacted many times is a man who has been a 13-year-old man. Great hotel close to the airport and reasonably close to town. The hotel has shops/restaurants and easy access to both downtown and the airport. Stayed 1 night after arriving in Yangon. The hotel is very slick, well run and professional. Check in was easy and straightforward. The staff were helpful, friendly and informative. There is a bar and coffee shop serving Lavazza coffee and other guest services too. The room service menu is good and spa services are very reasonable too. The room was very clean and had a nice, modern over sized bathroom. Although breakfast starts at 6, the restaurant is functioning and fully operational by 5.45. I was leaving to catch an early flight and managed some breakfast before leaving. A big thank you to reception and the chefs/breakfast staff for being very organised. Overall a good stay in a decent hotel. Would recommend.

My family was in Wyndham to celebrate our son’s first birthday. We asked the staff to help us with the decorations if possible and they did help us with all the decorations as much as they could. Shortly after, the hotel staff ran the door bell and surprised my family with a complimentary cake for our son. The 4 staff who came to surprise us Yee Mon Kyaw, May, Phillis,Myint Myint, my family would like to sincerely thank you all for your effort and kindness. Staff were friendly and helped us a lot. We mentioned when we booked the room that we were going for our honeymoon. The hotel immediately upgraded our room, upgraded our standard room without windows to a luxurious balcony room, and the view of the Ruiguang Shwedagon Pagoda from the balcony. They even prepared roses in bed and bathroom. Another thing that surprised me was that when we finished the view and returned to the room, we found the hotel sent us a beautiful cake and a postcard full of blessings. I was very impressed by their care and service to customers. In addition, the breakfast buffet they offer is very rich and delicious.

This is a huge hotel at the central of Yangon, with nearby shopping mall which is very convenience for traveller who need to do some shopping, it also has many food selection in the mall. There is a new wing, but I stayed at the old wing, and you can feel the hotel is old, however it is very well maintain, and clean. This was my 6th visit to Yangon, but my first stay at the Golden Butterfly. The hotel was chosen for its close proximity to the Shwedegon, our only reason for this visit. The hotel is ageing, aren't we all, but it still maintains some of its old grandeur with its beautiful entrance displaying timber craftsmanship of days gone by. The reception was managed professionally in a friendly welcoming manner. The room allocated was airy and clean, with a very large bed, TV and room safe. The bathroom was of normal size,clean and well maintained however the old style shower bath configuration may be difficult for the aged or those with hip and back problems as the bath stands approximately 50 cm high. We were only at the hotel for three days/two nights and as stated earlier our sole purpose this visit was to see the Shwedegon. During OUR stay the staff were friendly and helpful, arranged taxis for us and provided us with guidance as to shopping. The restaurant staff could not have been more helpful and friendly, providing me with a large mug for my breakfast tea rather than the usual 'thimble' size cups. The pool area was clean and a nice place to finish one's evening with a cold beer and a glass of wine. Overall this is a low to medium priced hotel ideally situated for a visit to the Shwedegon. Recommended though older or infirm guests should check out the bathroom configuration before booking.

As an international student in Myanmar, I recently spent a week at Hotel Scion Yangon and had a fantastic time. The hotel is conveniently located near the airport, which made my arrival and departure very easy, and their pick-up and drop-off services greatly helped this. The staff was friendly and they were always willing to help with any questions or requests. I particularly appreciated the high-speed internet, which allowed me to stay connected with my work and friends back in Australia. The rooms were also clean and had a nice comfortable beds, which were all very well equipped with all the necessary amenities. Additionally, I appreciated the fact that the hotel has a lot of plugs available for multiple devices, which made it easy to charge all of my electronics. Finally, the rooftop bar was my favorite which offered fantastic views of the pagodas around the hotel and is a great place to relax and unwind after a busy day of exploring. Overall, I would highly recommend Hotel Scion Yangon to any international students visiting Myanmar.

As of March 2022 This hotel is being used as a quarantine facility for overseas arrivals. The hotel site is the largest among hotels along a lake in Yangon City, and it is good for guests to take a cool walk in the morning/evening except for quarantined people. It has the lowest cost of accommodation among hotels along the lake, but since it is an old hotel, you can feel the signs of time, but it is not to the extent that you feel uncomfortable during your stay. The quality of breakfast/swimming pool/gym is not at the very high level of a luxury hotel, but considering the daily lodging cost of the hotel, it can be seen as good value for money. Amenity is offering an Australian brand called METIS. There is a bathtub in each room, so you can take a bath in the bathtub, but it is not recommended because Yangon's water quality is not good, but it is better to take a shower. If you want to relieve fatigue in the bathtub, it is better to prepare in advance so that you can cover the bad bathroom with a bath agent.
