Okay I don't usually send reviews but, Gemsy is one of the best value places to stay in Yangon and totally underrated - 23 year YGN vet here. Under 2 year old hotel so the photos are 100% accurate. Stayed here for 7 weeks in May/June 2020 in different rooms including their main royal gemsy, all top notch, even gave me a tour of other options which are all as pic showed. Location not downtown (so maybe not perfect for some), but supermarket a 1min walk away, street food and many restaurants under 3min walk, also on main bus route if wanting to travel as a local further, ofc taxi easy via grab. On staff can only say great, GM Ma Irene perfect, Ma Phyu at reception awesome, other staff also all wearing masks so mmmm names missing but all great and chatty. Simply no negative issues, wish they opened buffet brekkie, but understand during covid, though they will deliver to your room free. Can say much more, but a perfect spot to stay in YGN for sure.

Best chill out rooftop bar in Yangon! Definitely feel cool but if you're comfortable hanging out with starry-eyed expats then you can get to enjoy the wonderful panoramic view of Yangon and Inya Lake View at night, pretty good bar and take soft or liquor drinks and surprisingly and attractively high standards, nice staff, good music.

Only 25-30 minutes from the airport. The staff really nice and helpful. The room service is very good, in general the food is really nice and good quality, the breakfast buffet is a good one, to pay it worth it. I also tried the spa, the Swedish massage and it was a dream, I finished totally relaxed and ready to sleep. The only “bad thing” is the pillow, all of them too soft, not keeping any shape during the night, but this is a very personal opinion. But it’s fine, all the rest makes a good balance. I need to come back soon and I will repeat in this hotel.

The location is particularly good, close to the shopping center, but quiet on its own, and can see beautiful sunrises and sunsets every day. The service staff was very friendly. The facilities in the room were average and clean enough. There is a nice pool and children go swimming every day. There is an international 24-hour emergency rescue center downstairs. Because the schedule is uncertain, it has been booked several times, and the overall effect is good. The front desk is available in English and the person in charge of the restaurant is the best in English. It's just a small desk, everything else is fine, and occasionally there will be a power outage, but it seems to have its own generator.

Location: The hotel is a 3-minute walk to the side of Myanmar Plaza. At first, we thought about choosing the Pan Pacific Hotel next to Junction City, but there was a problem over there that there were more people who were noisier, and there were more people in the restaurant. Just to mention, introduce Myanmar Plaza cuisine, Korean fried chicken, Cantonese tea (I am really good for Cantonese, intestines and pork ribs tripe) KOI, tribute tea, small hot pot, spicy hot pot skewers, parents feel Down, I unanimously said that I prefer Myanmar Plaza, and I feel that locals go more. There are also masks available at the drug store next to the supermarket on the second floor. Hotel facilities and services: We did not use the hotel's swimming pool or gym because of the new pneumonia, but as soon as we got out of the car, someone came up to get our luggage. Even if we called GRAB at the door, the waiter at the door would help you drive the door and take you to the car. When I went there, it happened to be Chinese New Year. Check in told us Happy New Year in Chinese. Breakfast at the hotel: It can really be said to be perfect, basically all types of breakfast have Vietnamese / Chinese noodles, Chinese snacks, Western bread, eggs, various fruits, a lot of fresh juice. Parents like the breakfast in this restaurant very much, they praise it, and go to breakfast every morning. Hotel room: I didn't book a room with a lake view, but I could see the Shwedagon Pagoda from a long distance from my room. On the first day of the year, I saw fireworks nearby. The room is about 30 square meters, which is very large enough to open the luggage casually. The design of the bathroom is the black and white tone, which is a relatively new design. And every day someone will help you clean the room and change the towels. As the 5-stars services and facilities, I am highly appreciate and I would strongly recommand to my friends who come to Yangoon.

We visited Awei Metta for the second time to unwind and relax. Just a 50-60 minute drive from Yangon, we arrived in the calming surroundings of Awei Metta set in the middle of the Pun Hlaing golf estate, where friendly staff greeted us with a delicious freshly made detox cocktail. The rooms at Awei Metta are something special. Spacious, practical, and beautifully designed. Our only problem was that there was not enough time to enjoy the spa, swimming pool, tennis court, the book corner with its neatly stacked wide variety of books, gym, cocktail bar, and restaurant. Strongly recommended!

The environment is very general, the road is very noisy, the location is relatively remote, and the slums border, but it does not matter, the folk customs are simple and safe, the hotel health is good, the room is large, drinking water, coffee, cigarettes, sets, etc. are all equipped. This scared me. The customer service is very warm and thoughtful.

This is a very pleasant, mid-priced hotel in Yangon, within easy walking distance of the Shwedagon (see note below), which is the greatest attraction in Yangon. I have stayed here twice now and will stay here whenever I come to Yangon. The hotel is clean and comfortable. The staff are very friendly. The laundry is excellent. The breakfast in the adjoining restaurant is average. I have been very happy staying at H Valley Yangon and hope to return. The hotel can arrange airport transfers, which I recommend. You will need to contact them in advance. They can also probably arrange or refer you to car and driver transport for sightseeing, which you will need. The hotel is centrally located to many attractions and good restaurants in Yangon, including the Karaweik Palace Barge and the National Museum, but you will need car transport. The Karaweik Palace Barge has an all-you-can-eat, pan-Asian buffet and dance theater show in the evening that I recommend. The cost is very reasonable. They also serve lunch there. Besides the imposing and amazing gilded throne, the National Musem has an entire floor showcasing the costumes worn by the different ethnic groups in Myanmar. Both are well worth seeing. As I mentioned, you can walk from this hotel to the north entrance of the Shwedagon in about 15 minutes or less. Ask the front desk how to do this--don't try Google maps, which gets it wrong. Being this close is helpful if you wish to see the Shwedagon early in the morning or late in the evening, when it is less crowded. The Shwedagon is one of the most beautiful monuments in the world. The hotel is also within walking distance of the Savoy Hotel, one of three famous colonial hotels in Yangon. They have two colonial restaurants with interesting and tasty food.

The child is not yet 13 years old, it should belong to the category of 12 years old and under. You can go to the front desk behind the store to charge an additional $ 20. The room is small, and it is cramped after the extra bed. Fortunately, I only booked one night, and moved to Hotel99 a few hundred meters away the next day. Obviously, the room was large and cheap, because I had to stay a few days and talk about a discount. However, it cannot be denied that its breakfast is the richest since Myanmar, and the room on the 10th floor is relatively quiet, but the attitude of the front desk is too poor to communicate at all

This was my 6th visit to Yangon, but my first stay at the Golden Butterfly. The hotel was chosen for its close proximity to the Shwedegon, our only reason for this visit. The hotel is ageing, aren't we all, but it still maintains some of its old grandeur with its beautiful entrance displaying timber craftsmanship of days gone by. The reception was managed professionally in a friendly welcoming manner. The room allocated was airy and clean, with a very large bed, TV and room safe. The bathroom was of normal size, clean and well maintained however the old style shower bath configuration may be difficult for the aged or those with hip and back problems as the bath stands approximately 50 cm high. We were only at the hotel for three days/two nights and as stated earlier our sole purpose this visit was to see the Shwedegon. During OUR stay the staff were friendly and helpful, arranged taxis for us and provided us with guidance as to shopping. The restaurant staff could not have been more helpful and friendly, providing me with a large mug for my breakfast tea rather than the usual 'thimble' size cups. The pool area was clean and a nice place to finish one's evening with a cold beer and a glass of wine. Overall this is a low to medium priced hotel ideally situated for a visit to the Shwedegon. Recommended though older or infirm guests should check out the bathroom configuration before booking.

The breakfast here is quite satisfactory. The hotel has strong Chinese elements. There is a Chinese seafood restaurant in the lobby on the first floor (important because Burmese food is really bad). The hotel is next to the zoo. It is fun to hear lion and tiger howling every morning. This is one of the best hotels in Yangon with a good location and long heritages even though construction of many luxury hotels recently booming in this region. The most recommendable point that I felt during my stay for 4 days is the spacious room size compared to other luxury hotels that were built-newly in Yangon. The kindness of the well-trained staff and the qualified breakfast are also fantastic. I think this hotel surely achieved international level of service and facilities. Of course, there are several weak points compared to other new hotels in Yangon. But I think this hotel has a lot of strong points in terms of a competitive price.

It was the best hotel in Yangon where I stayed. We arrived on 29 at 11am, the room was ready and they gave us the room. Our stay there was shorter than we expect, was not the best period to travel, so next day we had to move, we finally found a flight to go back to our country. Even if I paid for a day more, the staff refound us the amount. The rooms are really better thank the pics on Booking. Big rooms (not so usual to find in Yangon), clean and elegantly furnished. On the rooftop we found the wonderful pool, the perfect place to relax ourselves, and forget a little that we had non flight to go back home. There is also the restaurant, where during the morning you can take ur breakfast, lot of choise between salty and sweet. Here u can take also the lunch or the dinner, good prices and nice food. We want to thank the staff for all course our stay here was great, if we will come back to Yangon we definitely come back to your hotel.

I have been returning to this hotel for the past 5 years, indicative of how highly I think of this hotel, and all its staff. Why pay high prices in down town when one is out for most of the day, and merely return home to slumber, and so doing would be oblivious of one’s surroundings. Motherland Inn 2 give a personal service, as they are all friendly and willingly help anyone who need their assistance. Their philosophy is nothing is impossible. Soe Soe is the owner, and will go out of her way to help customers. Likewise the reception staff, Latt Latt, Chan Chan, Chan Maye, and Chan Su . They all have a good sense of humour, and love to engage with their customers. The breakfast is excellent, with a wide variety of Burmese or European. I recommend you try the Burmese cuisine. Be adventurous, and you will enjoy it. The guys undertake the cleaning , and Soe Soe sets a high standard, which they must meet. The guys are polite, but shy at times. Just leave your key at reception , before going out, and ask for cleaning of your room, which incorporates change of towels. It is easy to get downtown, by taking 58 bus, most frequent, and 56 bus from Junction City to Ocean bus stop . Cost is incredibly low of just 100 Kyats .

I thought it would not be too good. I did not expect that it far exceeded my expectations and reached the standard of a five-star hotel. Good location, next to the big shopping center, there are also Aung San Market, Market, Supermarket, etc. It is also within walking distance from the Shwedagon Pagoda and China Town. The first 2 nights were on the 6th floor, the room was clean and provided all the necessities including 2 bottles of water. The internet worked okay in this room however on the 5th floor on our return we could not get it at all, we had to go to reception. The first day we had a shower in the afternoon and it was fine however in the morning we had only cold water and that was the same on the return stay. The breakfast was okay and they do eggs multiple ways. the coffee was good. The room was quite noisy as it faced a busy road where people found it necessary to use their horns. Overall I would say it was okay but there is need for improvement
