Hotels near Gonzaga Beach, Santos

Booked this using the Accor website as we stay in Ibis and their associated hotels around the world and are members. We’d just come from a São Paulo Ibis which was brilliant. Not so here. Firstly, the rooms are similar sized but weirdly laid out with the bed against the wall one side. The TV (which we didn’t use) is against the other side wall. Quite how on earth you’re supposed to watch tv from your bed is beyond me. Also, in São Paulo we had Netflix. Not available here I’m afraid. There’s no mattress protector (or on the pillows) on the mattress so the bedsheet sits directly on a mattress which someone else’s sweaty body’s been. Unhygienic I’m afraid, I didn’t look because I wouldn’t have been able to sleep on the bed if I’d seen anything horrible. We didn’t sleep on this but slept on top of the duvet on the bed. The duvet cover had a rip in it on the top. The bedsheets; supposed to be white are grey. We booked for 3 nights just to see what Santos was like and thought we’d book more nights if ness. Asked at reception and receptionist said we could have Friday night for 260reals but she’d go and check whether Saturday and Sunday was available. She came back and showed me a price. It seems that within the matter of 5 minutes the price for Friday night had doubled and the Saturday night had gone to 650Reals. We told her no thanks and found somewhere else on the seafront. The front reception area is unkempt as is the front entrance. I’d like to say the staff are cheery and welcoming but I can’t. After the negative above, the room is clean and is cleaned daily.

The experience at Hotel Sheraton in Santos, SP, left us utterly disappointed. Despite its promising location near the beach, shopping, and restaurants, our stay was marred by a series of frustrating incidents. Booking through the Marriot Bonvoy app, we were misled about the payment process, as we had to pay at the hotel despite having paid through the app. The room reservation added insult to injury; expecting two queen beds, we were provided with a king bed instead. The inconvenience extended to the parking situation, where not only did we have to pay for parking, but also rely on hotel staff to retrieve our car, as guests were not permitted in the parking lot. The check-out process was a debacle, with the lobby's customer service displaying a baffling lack of awareness. Despite my proficiency in Portuguese, the staff struggled to comprehend the situation, adding unnecessary delays. Compounding the issues, not only did the lobby customer service exhibit a clear disregard for communication, but as someone fluent in English, understanding what they were trying to convey proved to be an arduous task. Considering the hefty price tag of the room, the breakfast's simplicity was a letdown. As someone who frequents Santos, I've decided unequivocally that Hotel Sheraton won't be on my list for future stays. The overall experience was far from the standard one would expect from a reputed hotel chain, leaving us with a bitter aftertaste that overshadows any positives the location might offer.

Very well located on Gonzaga beach, with many restaurant and entertainment options nearby. Also provides easy access to the main roads leading to other beaches such as those off the North Coast (~1.5h away). Only downside is the parking, which is a separate company from the hotel. It is a valet parking, so it can be quite time consuming during peak hours such as ~9AM, when the guests at both Ibis and Mercure are leaving to the beach. Waiting time to pay for the parking and receiving your car can easily reach 30min.

The hotel is good but well disorganized, staff do what they can but needs a lot of maintenance. Although all rooms are of the same size, they all vary as the decor and items available, excellent breakfast, small swimming pool and amazing views. The worst negative point for my family was the disorganization of the booking management, we paid the value of stays months before hosting, because it was in the period of the reveillon, at the arrival the reception did not inform that the booking had not been paid, My sister had a copy of the evidence and let us go up. In the checkout the same distressing situation happened, the receptionist did not find the booking payment and said the hotel was not available on the platform we used to book. It was all right at the end, but no one likes to pass through this kind of constraint.

The hotel has new facilities and is well located. The service from the reception and restaurant staff is excellent and very fast. We had a problem with cleaning, the room wasn't exactly clean when we arrived and there were stains on the sheets suggesting they hadn't been changed. The pool is on the roof, but it is not very big and there is not much space for sunbathing. Despite being heated, it was very cold in our accommodation and very dirty.

Basic couple room 06 January 2020 with special promotion for mobile phone. Positive points : - Simpath staff care. - Parking with manobrist and quick vacation in front of the hotel. - Recent elevator. - Common area on 7th floor with a beautiful view of the beach. - Simple breakfast but well served with cold and hot drinks, cakes, bread, fruit and other accompagnements such as butter, jelly etc ... Strict the belts: Wifi only at the reception that has no place to sit. In common areas we have the impression of being on the walking dead. A bunker closed with dark or painted windows. A TV cable appearing and poorly fixed by all the walls. The elevator camera with wire fitted. The finish of the walls and floors. Room in the same style with a chloro-odore, when we open the door, it seems that insects will run away. Be careful not to shake your feet in a china if you have the courage to walk down. If you open the gardens, you breathe kilos of acaros and you face the neighbor of the other building. We had to take anti-allergic drugs. In the bathroom, the old mirror is so low that we have to sting. The shower is exotic, the hot water tower has a kind of stick from the shower column that pins without stop, and when we open, it makes a noise q looks q will crash in our head. You've seen the swimming pool no. We have to keep on constantly (Hawaii). We were ”supporting” until we need to use the toilet with that bad quality table, like a coat that doesn't go to the place, we have to sit side and without being able to move. When vc thinks q has given everything right the q vc does ... but “surprise!” does not have download pressure, even a little paper is rolling but does not fall, imagine the rest! I had q to pick up the waste ball and fill water (q was already wet - someone did the same) so can download! I went immediately to book another hotel with 4G because the ”free-wifi” works only in the pro receptionist reception can make account q works. The reservation of this hotel at booking.com was from 06 to 08, without cancellation option. It was so bad q we took the loss and went to another hotel of an international group with the same star rating passed the 2nd night, from 07 to 08 January. It was like to get out of a nightmare and return pro normal world

We rent 01 apartment by Airbnb in 5th floor, apartment with wonderful private jacuzzi!!! The apartment with 24-hour (always careful and educated), optional breakfast coffee (R$ 30,00), is simple and excellent, but in the same street there are 2 very good cookies to drink coffee, too; it has parking and how it is near the beach (01 square), We don't use the car for nothing.It is close to the Miramar shopping and the Banner Park, the sugar bread market, from various restaurants. Excellent place.

Excellent hotel and excellent service. The hotel team and Trip team are in congratulations for the reservation without qq type complaint !
