Just returned from the Crystallo Apartments again, was a bit worried about travelling in these times but as soon as We arrived We were very impressed with the way things were being done here. All rules being followed and spotlessly clean everywhere. We had a room which opened up on to the pool and it had everything We needed for our stay, the pool area although fairly quiet had all the sun beds spaced out correctly and you could see the maids thoroughly cleaning apartments and communal areas all day. Not many people around in the evenings but the owners son Stathis who works the evenings was always polite and asking if We were having a nice time, where We had been and giving us suggestions of places to visit and eat, nothing seemed too much trouble ( I like a certain wine and He made sure they always had some ) even picked me up some milk one day as He was going to the shop. He was also teaching us some Greek words and we were explaining some English, quite a laugh some nights. The location is great for beach, bars, restaurants and shops but still peaceful enough for a relaxing holiday.

In recent years, my wife and I have visited Cyprus on several occasions in late February and early March for an early break. This year, we booked with TUI once again and opted to stay at this hotel. And what a great choice that was! Although not especially alluring from the outside, once you get through the doors of The King Jason the place is amazing - possibly the best hotel we've stayed in anywhere in the world. From the initial friendly greeting (accompanied by a welcome glass of fizz) and seamless checking in procedure, we were highly impressed. But things only got better when we went down for dinner. Not only was the food on offer of an excellent standard (both in terms of quality and range) but the staff were wonderful. Everyone we encountered was extremely pleasant and helpful throughout. The level of service was exemplary - efficient, polite, friendly and unobtrusive - symptomatic of good training and high standards. And although everyone we encountered did a great job, we have to single out two members of staff for special mention: Andreas - the wonderfully personable hotel manager who was almost always around attending to the needs of the guests, and Maria, the restaurant manager. Both of them led by example and proved not only to be highly efficient but uber-friendly. And while the quality of the food was great, of special note was the outstandingly good (and highly fattening!) dessert bar. It was wonderful sight to behold. Our room (a mini suite) was absolutely fine and suited our needs perfectly. Had we wished to do so we could have self-catered but we were all-inclusive. The area around the pools was spotlessly clean (and was the restaurant and lounge area). Notably, as their publicity makes clear, there is no entertainment provided and that suited us perfectly as it meant we could retire to the lounge area (beautifully appointed and comfortable) afar our meal and sit quietly, have a drink and chat with some of the other guests. Alternatively, guest could retire to the library or, when it is warm enough to do so, go outside on the patio area. Our stay was enhanced by the fact that we met several other couples (one of whom had been there one times previously) and made new friends. Would we go again? Try to stop us! We will certainly be revisiting this hotel before too long and can't recommend it highly enough. The only minor issue we experienced was not down to the hotel but rather to TUI. We booked to go on the day trip to Nicosia - which includes crossing the border into northern Cyprus. Unfortunately, when we booked this trip we were not advised of how much walking there would be. This was particularly problematic in my case as I have a life-long disability that makes walking slow and difficult. On the day of the trip, the guide then mentioned the amount of walking involved but it too late for us to cancel. As a consequence, I found the trip to be entirely unsuitable for me as I was 'forced' to stay

Never in my life have I been so unhappy with a service. I would not recommend for anyone to stay in this terrible Hotel. I had booked a room for me and a friend on hostelworld. When I arrived at the hotel we were not greeted which was fine first thing that came out of his mouth was passport ... no hello no nothing. So after we were given our key to our room. First of all the bathroom was a mess, the bed sheets looked dirty and did not look like they had been cleaned. 5 minutes from arriving we get a call from reception (from an old man called Tom) saying that we had a room booked for 1 person even though we had been given a two single bed room. As I was showing him my email that stated that I had room booked for two, he proceeded to shout at me in such a horrible manner stating that I was wrong and he was right even though I had showed him my confirmation email for the room. I asked to see a manager or someone else above because I didn’t not want to waste my breathe on such a vile man. He ended up calling someone whom I started to speak to over the phone. As I was speaking to the gentleman over the phone “Tom” started shouting at me calling me a liar bringing his face around the table shield with no mask about 5cm away from face and again proceeded to shout at me and call me a liar. At this point in time I got very angry and demanded a refund as I didn’t Not want to stay at such a horrible place that don’t even know how to treat a paying customer right. The gentleman over the phone said that he will come over, hung up the phone on me and 10 minutes later he came to the front lobby. He introduced him self to be the owner and ceo of the hotel and that he would not accept there to be any shouting and to speak calmly. Just as he was saying that he started to defend his staff and say that I was in the wrong and the it was all my fault and that my email is not correct and that their system is correct and so on. He then said that we shouldn’t be in the lobby without a mask even though his staff had no mask and on two occasions had come so close to me during our argument. I told the so called owner/ceo of the company to check the camera which was facing directly towards us and to check how aggressive and intimidating this Tom guy was which he then proceeded to tell me how that wasn’t important. I cannot even go on any longer about how horrible we were treated by Tom and the so called owner of this hotel! But everything from the beginning to the end of it was so intimidating and disgusting behaviour. If I could have given it a 0 star I would! But would not recommend anyone to stay here. It would be better for you to stay at a hostel or Airbnb. Do not even waste your money.

This is by far the best hotel i have had the pleasure of visiting - ever. I repeat...ever. I have reviewed well over 100 hotels on TA, and i cannot overstate the awesomeness of this property. The place is beautiful, immaculately clean and the rooms are at an unsurpassed standard of comfort. The attention to esthetic detail all over the hotel, public spaces and rooms are, simply put, a straight 10. We stayed in the cabana rooms (009 and 010) and they were truly a special experience. By far, the highest compliment i can give goes to the staff at the Amavi. All of them, without exception, were very courteous, always smiling and highly responsive and professional. I was upset by one reviewer who commented negatively about the staff, so i will say this again - I have never experienced such a high standard of service, from the bell-boys at the entrance, the reception, restaurants, guest services and housekeeping. Credit must be given to the hotel’s GM and to those responsible for the staff training and maintenance of such high standards. The food was better than outstanding. The dinner at Nocturne was one of the best cuisine experiences that i, together with my friends, have ever experienced. Thank you for this weekend experience. We will return - as often as possible - and it is a pleasure to know that you can access such a high-quality property, at a reasonable price.

I feel really bad about only giving 4 stars, losing one for something that we take for granted back home. I'm sure it's not a problem in the warmer months when the solar heaters are working properly, but hot water was a slight issue. There is a tank on the roof that is heated by a solar system, which, as I say, is probably fine in the warmer months, but in the winter you predominantly rely on an immersion system, which seems to take for ever to heat the water. Then when you are trying to wash up or have a shave the water drains from the sink before you have finished, infuriating if you are trying to soak dishes or plates before washing them. Not sure if this was specific to our room, E 317, or a common problem with the sinks not sealing properly. Other than this, I cannot recommend this place highly enough, the South African lady on reception was wonderful, really helpful, our request for extra pillows was dealt with immediately and she gave us loads of information on local places. The apartments are bright, spacious, clean and comfortable with plenty of wardrobe space well equipped kitchen, washing machine, iron and ironing board. Just that slight petty hot water issue. Other than that, I would happily stay here again anytime.

We visited Cyprus on our honeymoon in 1988 and decided to visit Cyprus again this year for our 32nd anniversary..although we didnt stay at the Veronica hotel we wanted to visit this place for old times sake as we had very fond memories of this family owned hotel in 1988. It had changed a lot from the front and we went in for a drink, explaining to the reception desk why we had come. It's such a shame that the hotel has lost its warmth in greeting people - I suppose it's called progression!... we had a quick look around- bought back many lovely lovely memories!.. we rode around Cyprus on a little moped with any helmets in those days..and one morning in the moment of showing off my husband sped out of the hotel and we both fell off it..we limped back in and the hotel owner bought some iodine to our room to put on our little wounds..and then gave us free drinks in the evening..its those little things we will not forget.. we still remember the hotel as it was then and not now..memories are strong ...

As a newcomer to Cyprus, there was a need to find somewhere that could be a home from home. The purpose here is not just to be all that a holiday location could and should be, but also be a place that would be a great base to research the island as location for second home. Paphos is old: just over the road is Tomb of the Kings, a hallowed place, vast and accessible with a unique relationship with the sea: archeology and landscape mixes well here and if you are of the kilter that like both ruins and beach resorts, then Pahos is the ideal spot. Ex pats abound here, but unlike Spain's coast, and the uber rich South of France, the island of Pahos remains too old to change or be spoilt by those bringing in a needed economy: it remains defiantly Jason and the Argonauts. It reeks of age. Match this with the measures size when in a med bar, and put the local brew Keo into the mix and this remains the ideal place for a retirement spot or, for this writer a retreat from the consistent and neccessary stress of London. At the time of writing, Cyprus is the haven of choice not just for a holiday, but as a home for brits. This is not unusual for residents of Blighty: once the Brit reaches a certain age, the prospect of sun, sea and sand, is far better than ending one's years in a raining dreary town or city. Covid-19 has accelerated this impetus to the poiunt of offices setting up to facilite the move for the droves of Little Englanders enchanted by the island, impressed by its treatment of the disease, and feeling the calling of a lesser stressed existance. Kings is just simply great. It fails to be like any usual holiday complext due to its size: it has just two stories and is tucked away from the coast or main roads and is part of a complex of fitness and beauty oriented business. The usual amenities are there: Nicholai and Ritsa are hard working and amenable professional hoteliers that never stop. The pool is more a dipping adventure than somewhere for a serious swim but is enough. The studios and apartments are very well stocked with storage space and utensils, and the amount of plug sockets and quality of wifi is great enough to deal with anyone working from home, or in this instance, holiday home. There is not just the matter of location to take into account here. Note the following..... Lidls is ten minutes away and has all the local fish, and treats of Cyporus to offer as well as value booze The is a nearby bar COPA BAR with English and Greek staff offering a meal offer at less than 10Euros with a pint of the day at 2.50Euros The stretch between Kings Apartments and Lidls has numerous restaurants, an Irish bar and a bar run by a Scot offering lots of advice, information and a Quiz Night to those who want English culture on top of the med weather. The car and buggy hire is on offer at two places nearby The buses 610/612/613/615 run by Inter City Buses run at either side of Kings Apartments and offer buses to The Harbour and Coral Bay, a near

Really its strange summing up our holiday at the hotel and of the area situated or as it transpires Paphos itself it was so much in contrast . Both my friend enjoyed the stay at this hotel ,the food was delicious the staff were faultless and really couldn't do enough for guests. The hotel itself was luxurious but for what we paid one cant expect 5" accommodation and some of the guests did except they hadn't paid for it !! Lovely finishing touches such as free afternoon tea coffee and absolutely gorgeous cakes served daily and a lovely welcoming log fire blazing in the hotel lounge . The rooms were pretty basic but clean we were early session and of course a lot of the entertainment provided hadn't yet commenced either in the hotel or surrounding bars and restaurants but a short bus journey into town and things were a little busier and lively. The biggest disappointment were the beaches which were either non existent or gravel/seaweed a few tiny sandy bays to be found but again often litter with an abundance of washed up debris unfortunately the weather didn't lend its hand to sunbathing or indeed using the outdoor hotel pool although the indoor pool sufficed Would we return ? Categorically not although no fault of the hotel but the whole of the resort was swarming with cats and I mean swarming just everywhere you went not just around this hotel AL Lthe surrounding hotels had them we witnessed them laying on sunbeds drinking from pools and kittens having kittens Please take heed ! Its a cat lovers paradise , unfortunately I don't include myself in the latter and although arriving home less than 24hrs ago cant seem surmount the reek of Tom spray from my nostrils

We stayed a the Louis Imperial hotel the last week of October. The hotel was spotlessly clean and the staff were friendly and attentive. The main buffet food was always plentiful and varied with lots of choices and even a buffet for children with their usual favourites. Masks and gloves had to be worn in the restaurant which gave a feeling of safety and all guests followed the regulations. The hotel was only a third full which gave plenty of choice for sun beds round the pool and on the small beach. Staff were attentive in offering drinks in both locations. Masks had to be worn at all times with the exception of eating, drinking or in the pool. Unfortunately new guidance had been put in place the day we arrived and all bars including the hotel bar had to close at 10pm. This was not so much of an issue as we were on holiday with our grandchildren who were early risers! As the week went on the hotel became quieter with some neighbouring hotels closing. Paphos centre was also very quiet. Our flight home was just in time to avoid the 14 day compulsory isolation. All in all we had a lovely holiday and would definitely recommend the hotel.
