Thanks to all the staff that make this lovely modern little hotel such a pleasure to stay in. I cannot think of anything that could be done to improve the stay here, they have thought of everything. The breakfast covers all tastes with its wide choice of hot and cold items all laid out very nicely. The rooms are modern and clean with toiletries supplied and safe, fridge and coffee maker available free of charge. The beds are comfortable and there are a choice of pillows. The hotel is carpeted and so quiet to stay in. It is situated at the quiet end of Cannes and a short walk away from the beach promenade. A ten minute walk down the street of balls ‘rue de antibes’ brings you to the harbour and the start of the old town le suquet. We loved the old town and it’s little narrow streets but found Cannes a bit too modern and soulless..not helped by the seafront being extensively worked on with roadworks and lorries and diggers blocking the way. It is our first time to the south of France and we loved it especially Nice. If you want a clean modern friendly hotel in a quiet area of Cannes look no further than this hotel I can’t recommend it highly enough!!

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Athenee and would stay there again. It's not fancy, the rooms are simple, but an effort has been made in the decor (our room was the Matisse room with Matisse on the walls, which was nice). The beds are nice and comfy and it's on a quiet street, so I got great sleeps. The location is great, just a block from Rue D'Antibes and close to great restaurants. The breakfast was great and I can't possibly say enough about the warmth and helpfulness of the two lovely owners. Pascal even had a taxi (more like a town car) sent to pick us up at the airport and drop me off at the Palais because I had a meeting shortly after we landed. He repeated over and over to the driver to make sure I was on time for my meeting (on that note Henri, the driver is also a gem!). My only suggestion to the owners would be to warn us North American travelers not to take too long of a shower (if there's two of us) because the hot water tanks are smaller than we're used to :-).

Last week we stayed at Villa Garbo for 6 nights and we really enjoyed it a lot. We had a one-bedroom suite with plenty of room, a nice layout and a very nicely finished interior. The staff was classy, very friendly and extremely helpful. The hotel also provided parking space for our car, which is a big plus in Cannes. The concept is not a classical hotel but a villa with a range of apartments. Only breakfast is provided as a meal. In this Covid-19 era of course it was not served buffet-style, but we could order classical things, all very nice. An interesting touch is that at night they serve included drinks from 6 to 8 pm. We invariably had these and also the breakfast on the terrace outside. The only drawback is that the garden is close to a main road with a busy roundabout and that you could hear traffic noise all the time, outside only, not in our apartment. Actually this is the case for most hotels at de Côte d'Azur. We can only recommend this place very much.

Where do I start Cons Relentless about 11 am checkout time... I want to start by saying I had every intention of complying with this 11 AM check out time. The hotel is extremely relentless and annoying with reminders about the 11 AM check out… There was a letter in the room reminding of the 11 AM check out, a business card in the room also citing the 11 AM check out time , I was followed up the stairs by the front desk personnel my last night reminding me of the 11 AM check out time, when I came down to go out and get my coffee at 9 AM on the day of my departure I was ask if I was checking out (clearly I had no luggage in hand), I received a knock on the door during the morning reminding me of the check out time and a call at 10:45 am inquiring about me departure to time... needless to say it was ridiculously annoying and overkill… I have never experienced this at any other hotel around the world. If the checkout time is 11 AM, I check out promptly on time. Also annoying was the fact that the front desk personnel forgot to return my passport at checkin and I noticed they had the passport of the client before me in the copy machine as well. The room was very small which would not have been such a big issue if it had not been for all of other annoying factors at this hotel The stairway is extremely narrow and difficult to navigate. This is important because the elevator is highly undesirable due to its VERY small size. I so wanted to love this hotel after reading the reviews, but I am actually shocked by those reviews after my experience. The front desk staff are intrusive. I didn’t particularly want to leave my keys when I went out and they pretty much insisted that I leave them at the front desk The smell in both the hallway and the room was overpoweringly unpleasant which I kept trying to overlook. I am inclined in part to write this review because I moved to a hotel within a close proximity with a similar rating and had a much better experience. This hotel was announced as two-star rated with small rooms. My room turned out to be a small apartment with kitchenette, microwave, etc. I couldn’t use it extensively but it came as a nice surprise. The hotel is located 300 m from the train station and in similar distance to the old harbor and events center. Yet it is quiet and calm on a side road. The rom was clean and moderately modern. Breakfast was surprisingly included and consisted of a typical French selection of baguette, croissants, coffee and orange juice. I recommend this house when traveling on medium low budget.

Lovely hotel in a perfect location around the corner from la Palais. The staff was so kind and helpful. The room was capacious with a kitchen and plenty of cupboard space, a Hob, largish fridge, toaster, crockery and cutlery. We had a nice balcony and the beds were so comfortable. I attended a conference in Cannes this December, what a fabulous location!, it was lovely to wonder down the promenade during the day, at night the town looks amazing with its Christmas decorations. Myself and friends stayed 4 nights in September. the hotel is a peaceful Oasis in the middle of Cannes and in the perfect location - near the front, restaurants, shops etc. The lounge area, pool and terrace are beautiful with comfortable furniture. Rooms are spacious and have quality fittings. Above all , the staff and the service are excellent and nothing is too much trouble for them. Highly recommended for a stay in Cannes. We went on the petite train which takes you all around the town and also took the boat trip to Magdelena island which was lovely for a different view and has footpaths all over. We bought some drinks and sandwiches when we got off the boat and ate them by the sea.

From start to finish our stay was horrendous! The hotel is nothing like on photos very small and cramped the lifts are claustrophobic can barely fit a pushchair in. The bathroom is probably 1metre x 2metre in size no extractor fan so whenever the shower is used it’s very stuffy. Room was smelly and small. Staff are so rude, one morning I was getting dressed and one of the cleaners just causally let herself in not even a knock or an apology, I had to grab a towel as I was so embarrassed and she just kept shouting at me in her language she was trying to tell me the room must be cleaned now! Even tho I had no clothes on I was trying to ask for 5 minutes in order for me to get dressed so she slammed the door and I heard her shouting up the hallway. When I mentioned this to the lady on reception all she could say was I will call her not even an apology. The smell of cannabis and smoke throughout the hallways every night was disgusting especially when staying with a 1 yr old child! We have a video of one of the bartenders saying that drugs are a big problem in this hotel. Rooms are only cleaned and fresh towels given every 3 days then when they are cleaned they put dirty mildew sheets on the bed, I mentioned this to reception twice the first time the sheet was just re arranged on the bed not changed then the second time the very rude reception guy with blonde hair and glasses accused me of lying I tried to show him photos on my phone and he very rudely shouted over me in french! After this he must have sent the cleaner to my room as one of my family members was waiting for the lift and witnessed one of the cleaners having a look through my suitcases so would not trust to leave any valuables in the rooms! This hotel is an embarrassment to best western to even be part of there chain of hotels, if this was the last hotel on earth we would never stay here again more like a 2 star than a 4!! Reading through the other bad reviews about this hotel it seems the hotel always has an answer back rather than an apology. Can we all be wrong?

It is a small hotel with a lot of charm, the entrance is through a flower garden, rare in the city center and rare to see a garden so well maintained with tall palm trees, we were greeted as if we were regular customers, so warm, We had booked one night through Booking.com, we had chosen it because it obtained on booking.com the exceptional score of 9.4, we slept in a medium sized room but with a nice balcony, we loved having our breakfast on this balcony in the sun and a very nice view of the garden, We thank Trip Advisor because thanks to the comments we extended our stay by 4 nights and we benefited from the promotion of 3 nights purchased and the 4th night was offered, there are such positive vibes in this hotel, we have fond memories of it and we are sure to come back

What a wonderful hotel ! We had the chance to stay here for a few nights during summer and I can't find anything bad to say about this place. The owners and all the staff are extremely kind and helpful. The hotel itself is stunning, the pool will make you want to order cocktails from the bar just a few feet from it. The movie oriented decoration is sober and classy. The rooms are very clean and spacious, and the balcony with a table and sunbeds is really enjoyable with the hot Cannes weather. The breakfast (buffet or in the room) by the pool is also very nice. I would say that the thing that top's it all is the location. Located 2 minute away from the famous Croisette beach where you'll anything you're looking for to have diner, drink or party. I am definitely making a new booking for my next time in Cannes. Thanks again to all the staff to have made this stay fantastic.

You really cannot go wrong with this lovely boutique hotel located just a few mins walk from Cannes promenade/beach. Stayed here for 3 nights recently during a trip with friends. Highlights of the room/hotel: very comfortable bed and clean linen with a superb hot shower (the two most important factors!); lovely ambience and dark decor; everything was functioning well and the staff were friendly and helpful; best of all the location is amazing and very central. Downsides: ironically the central location means it is noisy outside and you can hear some street sounds in your room well after midnight (stayed on level 2, the highest floor, and it still bothered me on the first night - although it was a Friday); also the rooms could do without those horrid netted shower curtains in front of the windows, they add nothing and make the room look awful! Overall, a fantastic stay and I'd go back if I was in Cannes and wanted a cheap and cheerful base.

Stayed on visit to Cannes for FIVE days. Great stay --- staff was amazing. Franck provides high level customer service and is an asset for the Hotel Renoir. He speaks really good english (for guests that need that) and was very accommodating as were other staff at the Renoir. It's true the breakfast area is small -- the selections are limited so I opted for grab and go FRESH croissant and other french pastry selections at the local Boulangeries all within walking distance. They do have an evening reception with mediocre wines-- if they spent a few more dollars on better wines the reception would be an asset as it is France wine should be stellar. Renoir is part of the same company that owns the beach club restaurant C Beach -- they also own the Hotel Cezanne. Beach lounger is 25 euro per day -- includes a parsol. Renoir guests get one free towel each (fyi lounger is cheaper and towels cost 8 Euro person for non hotel guests). Good service and nice location. They do not stop people from trying to sell you wares while you lounge -- so be warned. Food is great at C Beach -- a bit pricey but not ridiculous just remember it is Cannes. FYI - the rooms were very well air-conditioned I was there during the July 2019 heat wave the rooms were very comfy and to the american standards of cooling. Walk to the train and for $6 euro or less rndtrip you can visit nearby Riviera towns Antibes and Juan Les Pins in 20 min or less. Oh and hit the store Monoprix around the corner for room snacks and bottles of water (a pack of 6 quantity liter size bottles for 1.29 Euro for ALL SIX-- a steal) --- the second floor of the store is a grocery. Hotel Renoir is nice boutique hotel with robes and slippers in the room. It's very a accommodating place and easy access to the main Cannes shopping. FYI --- Cannes closes down early -- some restaurants were closed by 10 pm. It is not a party city -- at least near the Renoir. It was safe though...

This is what boutique hotels should be like. Our room was on the small side, but the comfort, staff, and amenities more than made up for this. The décor is just a touch unique, but still clean and modern, the bedding is comfortable, and the little balcony is quite nice. We were surprised to find out breakfast was included since this hotel has such a great rate. It’s small, but they have a great selection of breads, meats, and more, and will make bacon and eggs for you on request. The staff is friendly and very helpful. They provided us with a corkscrew and wine glasses for our room, and they have other helpful items available, like umbrellas. Arrived at the last minute – booked in the morning before I drove to Cannes so managed a really good deal on one site. Arrived to a very warm welcome and was given a room beautifully decorated with cartoon characters including Asterix, Lucky Luke and others. One wall has a bas relief of more characters. Room impeccably clean, everything worked (not always the case in small hotels at the end of the season!) and easy connection to wifi. Room looked out over a small back street with on street parking. Area is very quiet and calm. I was given detailed instructions and a map (!) to get back into the town centre and the event centre along with 3 recommendations for dinner. I took one of these and was delighted with the result. My swift departure the following morning precluded breakfast but I was nonetheless given a croissant to munch on my way down to the conference. Fun, warm welcome and quite the most character-ful hotel I have stayed at for a long time. I rarely write reviews, restricting my writing to the ghastly and dire or, as in this case, the really outstanding. Will be back.

Cannes is a lovely place, so it would have to be a really poor hotel to disappoint me, and this one did not. Beautiful food and bar area with small but pretty pool and small but lovely room. I do, however, and despite travelling extensively and to some very exclusive places, sometimes find the staff at a place like this difficult to judge whether they are being condescending or not, i may be wrong but not often in these cases. We arrived from Spain in shorts, somewhat dishevelled from 500km drive with the roof off. We changed for the evening and ate casually close to the restaurant on the sofas. My beer was delivered in a bottle with a warm glass. The waited noted my failure to use said glass with some amusement, I did mention that should he serve cold beer it should be with a cold glass. This seemed to mollify him and he was exceptionally pleasant after. Unfortunately there were no rooms for the next night, despite being at the end of season and a half empty restaurant. Mmmm

Newly renovated hotel. Even though there was a reconstruction on the main street we were not disturbed at all. The room was facing the inner garden which was very well maintained. The front desk personal was more than friendly and accommodating!Easy access to the center of Cannes via city transport.

We stayed two nights. Excellent location, not too far from Gare. Host and hostess very welcoming. Room was clean and comfortable. Wifi a bit slow in the morning when perhaps all guests using it. Bathroom was clean and modern. Only concern was the breakfast. One croissant. We may be unreasonable but no yoghurt or fruit so we did not feel that for the price we were given value. We noticed another guest went and bought his own yoghurt. Suggest using one of the cafes close by for breakfast.

Nice and clean rooms, good breakfast, very fine shower and most of all the kind and helpfull employees made it a very pleasant stay for us!! the room was warm but with open windows it was perfect! We will be back if we need a hotel in the future. It's a pitty they have to close because of Covid now and I wish you all the best these strange months.

i can't say enough about this hotel. my room was beautiful and had all that i needed including a really great shower. everything in my room was well thought out and done with excellent design sense. the staff were all so friendly and helpful. there is a refrigerator in the breakfast room you can use. they offered suggestions of places to go and helped me find my way when i needed it. they collected feedback on my activities so they could offer better recommendations for future guests. the location was perfect. in the middle of everything while peaceful and relaxing. close to a good beach, the port, buses & trains to go anywhere i could possibly want. also close to many many restaurants of all prices as well as three grocery stores. it's super close to the train station so it's easy to get to. i extended my stay here since it was so comfortable. i hope to visit here again. i highly recommend hotel alnea.

Where to begin with this review. We were here for a family wedding and a huge group of us with loads of rooms occupied and what a bad choice of hotel. We arrived at the hotel and the family room was very spacious but we had no idea that the 6th floor was renovated 10 years ago (one of the managers told me this). The hotel has different floors all in various stages of renovation. The fifth floor is the best - rooms are huge and new and bathrooms are amazing - huge walk in showers and the entire bathroom in marble tiles. We unfortunately were not on this floor - we were on the 6th floor. This floor is not the worst you get - was renovated 10 years ago but now in need of another revamp. The family room was big and spacious with a little kitchenette which was not working - the knobs on the stove had been pulled off and why provide a little kitchenette with absolutely no crockery or cutlery??? Whats the point? The first floor is very old - never been renovated but some of the rooms have - odd. The first couple of floor - you walk through on the way to the pool filthy falling apart, dirty walls and carpets - terrible. Back to our room - bathroom, cracked tiles, mildew, leaking glass - shower over the bath so this would stop the water flooding the bathroom. Day 1 - electrics in the room aren't working - besides 2 floor lamps the lights are working - technician arrives - they do come quickly when you call. Struggles to fix it - will come back in the morning. Then no cold water - apparently and they cannot understand why when the guest in the neighbouring room showers they use all the cold water. Ive never. So off we went downstairs to shower in our family's rooms. This did not get resolved - admittedly by the hotel. Reception area - looks great but tv doesn't work. There is a huge tv - my husband was so excited to sit there and watch sport - tv non operational in the 10 days we were there. Asked reception a few times - no answer, not interested. Couldn't give a damn. Toilet in the lobby - inside handle comes off when you use the door so very easy to get locked in. Lifts a disaster - can fit max about 3 people at a time. And there are two sets of lifts and its confusing because some go to some floors and not others. Pool area terrible. No towels - you have to get from reception and they often run out and you may not take the towels to the beach. The pool itself was fine but terrible pool area, broken chairs and couches, no pool service and no shade and no one every comes up to see if you need assistance or can provide an umbrella. The location of the hotel is average. Its located very close to La Croisette and two very little supermarkets but I personally would stay closer to the middle of the town or near the old town - closer to where the Splendid hotel is located Breakfast - average and expensive - EUR19 pp - coffee not fresh - from an automated machine - my worst! Everything constantly running out on the breakfast and although the break
