      First off let me say this! This places is packed with Drug users. I literally watched someone shooting up in the parking lot not even 100ft away from me. When my Fiancé and I first landed we had booked our room for a week and when we arrived they had already given it away. Second not even a week past and the housekeeper comes banging at our door like law enforcement and asked if we needed anything and we said not at the moment because we needed to pay first. She told my fiancé rudely look it here Bud this is the way this is going to go…I heard that and came to the door to see who was speaking to him this way and I just stared at her in completely shock. Shortly after that we get a call from the front desk from Heather my Fiancé picked up the phone and spoke to her and she proceeded to rudely tell him that if I…and said my full name to him was going to be confrontational with housekeeping I needed to leave. Take it I never said a word to the lady nor did I answer the door my fiancé was the one to speak to her and I just poked my head out to see who was rudely talking to him. So he went up to the front desk to see why she completely lied and followed after him to tell the lady upfront I never even spoke a word to her housekeeper. And when I said this they both attacked me yelling at me for no reason at all. All I said to Heather was I didn’t say anything to her housekeeper and they both hanged up on me out of no where like to angry pit bulls. I processed to say I was going to call law enforcement because it was getting escalated and they said if I Calle the cops I would have to leave their property. NEVER in history have I ever heard of this! Ever! Tbh I looked like they were both high on drugs the way their mouths were moving. Just in the little stay I stayed this placed is all the way set up for the ones who do drugs and sell um around there. I had been watching who all had been there and they’re All in cahoots…I believe down to the housekeeper.

      I had a great stay recently at this hotel after having less than desirable experiences with other hotels in the area. Upon entering I noticed they have signs saying they are remodeling, currently you couldn't tell they were other than by the signs. After speaking with the front desk, they mentioned they are starting with the rooms and then will focus on the lobby and other areas, so keep that in mind if that affects your decision. I was lucky enough to stay in one of the recently remodeled rooms. It was great. More outlets than anyone could ever use. The bed was extremely comfortable, the internet was fast and reliable, and the bathroom was nice with a nice shower head. Overall it was all I could ask for in a room. Upon check-in, I had also received a free drink and a free breakfast coupon. I am a gold member, so I don't know if this applies to everyone, but I usually don't receive this at other holiday inn stays. There is a restaurant/bar on-site which was great since I didn't want to have to travel for food. I used my free drink and ordered the special of the night which was the prime rib special. It was fantastic. Perfect in every way, very tasty. The food overall looked great that they were serving. It was a pleasant surprise since there didn't seem to be too many people dining there. I didn't have time for breakfast, but overall my stay was great. This will now be my go to hotel when I am in the area.

      I have stayed at this hotel probably 10 times it’s a little outdated but generally pretty decent. They have significantly raise their price while offering nothing more if anything though this time our room was missing an ice bucket we upgraded to a room with our deck sitting area outside by the pool we were the only one that did not have a table on her deck so we had to like drag furniture out to use as a table when we asked about the ice buckets they told us they didn’t have any so we had to use plastic bags to bring ice back to our room and hold it in the sink. Just the magic seemed gone this time it just was not the same feeling that I’ve had in the past at the same hotel. Super disappointed that they can charge so much in the room not be together and when you ask for stuff that normally comes in a room you’re told no they don’t have it I’ve never stayed at a hotel that didn’t provide an ice bucket. And if I’m paying more for a room that has a sitting area to be the only sitting area without a table is not OK and the housekeeping staff I think it was the head housekeeper kept giving us dirty luxe she was very rude I wish I had gotten her name but I didn’t. I’m just shocked by the lack of care and attitude.

      I really feel bad about a bad review with all the hospitality industry is having to endure right now but this was a bad experience, specifically because of what is going on right now. To be honest I’m not sure why this hotel was ever built. It’s technically full service ... pool (no ambiance, literally a few yards off the the freeway), restaurant, Starbucks, meeting space....although the restaurant is not open or even offering room service, presumably as a a result of Covid, which is understandable. The Starbucks is only open 8-1. The odd thing is this hotel is in a very industrial area, nothing around but warehouses and light industrial businesses. Can’t imagine a full service program in this area ever made sense. But I assume the initial developer/owner had high hopes. Oh well. The reception staff was great - cheerful, professional and efficient. The biggest blemish of this property as a practical matter for guest though is maintenance and cleanliness. The property has obvious received no updates or refreshments in many years (very creative or dated photos on the Marriott website). The furnishings, fixtures and finishes are at least 2000’a if not 90’s genre. The grounds, parking areas are literally crumbling. But aside from all that the room did not seem clean at all. The most glaring issue was the carpet. I literally considered leaving and going down the the street to lesser but newer flag. The carpet is literally disgusting to the point of feeling unsafe (see pics). The rest of the room elements weren’t as bad but not much better. Given that my stay was literally about 10 hours I stayed....never took my socks off other than to shower though. Really surprised this property is still allowed a full “Marriott” flag designation .... must have been an iron clad long term operator agreement. Much better lower flags in market radius.

      I was traveling to the Sacramento area from Oregon to visit my elderly parents. I’ve driven by this hotel before and it looked like it would be nice enough. I just expect a clean, quiet, decently priced place to stay when I come to Sacramento. This is the first time I’ve stayed here. After driving 10 hours and spending time with my parents, I arrived at the hotel at about 9:30 PM. This was 3/25/2022. I was tired and looking forward to just relaxing. I was only going to be staying two nights. I went to my room and as soon as I opened the door, I notice a smell but I just assumed that it needed aired out. It smelled stale at first. As I went into the room, it looked dirty. Then I went to the bathroom. It was filthy. The floor was sticky and it smelled of urine. I almost left then but I decided to clean a little and report it the next day, assuming it was a mistake. I was also pretty tired. I took a white hand towel and wet it down and started cleaning the floor. It was so gross. It had obviously not been cleaned in some time. The towel turned black….and yellow. I also cleaned off all of the countertops because they were dirty also. The shower was not clean either. The next morning, I went to the front desk and told them about how filthy the room was. There were two gentlemen in the front desk area. Their response was “sounds about right”. They also said to make sure to write a review. They said that the room would be cleaned by that evening (3/26/2022). After spending the day with my parents, I again came to the hotel about 9:15 PM or so. When I opened the door to the room, nothing had been done. It still hadn’t been cleaned. I immediately started heading for the front desk. A man who works there seemed to know the situation. He wasn’t one of the people who were at the front desk so they all must have talked. He asked me if I was the person in room 224 that had wanted the room cleaned. I said yes. He said that the GM was in the office and to make sure and give her a complaint. This was all very strange. I suggest headquarters talks to the employees. There is something very odd going on. I don’t know if she is refusing to pay for maids or whatever, I can tell you that I travel a lot and I have never seen a room so filthy or a hotel not try to make it right. The General Manager did not take responsibility for the situation. She just said “this shouldn’t have happened”. I offered to show her the room but she wasn’t interested. I received a refund because there was no way I was going to stay there again. She was unconcerned and unapologetic. God knows if they even changed the sheets. There are obviously some problems at this hotel. The health department should probably be called to check it out because, as I said, it was blatantly gross and unsanitary. This is not a place people should stay.
