      Upon first sight of this hotel I was impressed. After staying overnight, not so much. The employee at the front desk was ready with my paperwork printed for check-in. That was great. When heading to our room we noticed an overwhelming scent. It wasn’t a bad smell, but it was too much. You could taste it. When we got to our room we could see the door was damaged. It looks like it was prayed open at one point. I was concerned but the door still closed and locked. Our room seemed to have been recently remodeled, but they missed important things like painting the chipped walls and the fraying carpet. The coffee maker had a thick layer of dust around the open lid. We chose not to use it. We figured we could get a cup of coffee downstairs. The bathroom was similar. Gaps between the drywall and fixtures and an odd spray paint on the ceiling. I couldn’t tell quite what it was. When we checked out the same front desk employee was still there preparing for breakfast. We were too early for breakfast but I asked if both of my kids could take a danish to go. He said no. That if he did it for us he would have to do it for everyone. I said I understand that, but there was no one else around and I pointed out breakfast was included in our stay. Surely two prepackaged breakfast items weren’t out of the question. At that point the employee said to me, “Are you saying you’re better than everyone else?” I was shocked and said I think it’s important to treat people the way you would like to be treated. We left following his instructions. Not a hotel I would recommend staying at. We don’t plan to return.

      Most of the Quality Inns these days are much, much less quality than the Quality Inns of 20,30,40 years ago. This one seems to be a little above the average one of these days. I still cannot understand corporate Choice hotels draining their pools in September. We stayed to Manchester so we could go to the Tullahoma air show. Went to the airshow for a while on Friday afternoon but it was just so hot,we decided to go back to our hotel and take a swim. Turns out they were draining the pool. Temperatures had been in the mid 90s and above for the month before our arrival and no sign of cooler temps soon. We asked others at the airshow the next day if their hotel chains still had operating pools. All of them that we asked we're able to take a swim on Friday and Saturday. *** Choice?

Always looking for a safe area to stay so I don’t have to unpack the car. It was friendly, clean and quiet with a comfortable bed. My room faced peaceful wooded area - no lights. I slept great!
