I was looking for somewhere economical to stay for a short two night trip. I found the rooms to be simple, clean and reasonably well appointed with a fridge, coffeemaker and a microwave. There is a 'breakfast room' that offers minimalist options, but plenty to get your day started and there was free coffee and milk, and drinks. Amber at the front desk was very helpful and nice. Privately owned, the owner is on property a good bit of the time. They also own another place in the area. Oh and the mattress in my room was one of the memory foam type. Quite comfortable. The downside was the Wifi.. It works, but it was most likely a self installed situation so it can go out. I did notice that Amber from the front desk was helping people get connected. Really above and beyond.

Our duration of stay was 3 days. Planned to enjoy soaking in their mineral water and had a 60 min massage extremely recommend. We stayed in room suites on ground level. Room was extremely clean, gas fireplace made it cozy, and very inviting upon arrival. Front desk was very accommodating whenever we asked for anything(near by attractions during day to visit for that season, restaurants even gave a us a list that delivers, and salts to add to bath water). The snow did not disturb the shear Beauty of this place. There was a rose bush by our door still had 2 pink roses on it, many of their plants still had green leaves. Pond was still cirrulatung water where huge Koi fish lay. In the mourning we had a great selection for breakfast everything was homemade and fresh. What a great way to start your day. At the end of our day we enjoyed other amenities including their outdoor Hot mineral water Jacuzzi, fitness room open until 10pm. Do not pass up a chance to enjoy this serene resort it really helped to take away a lot of our stress.

August visit. First time here. Great breakfasts. Nice grounds with a pool. Bohemian style rooms. The photos of their rooms on their website are accurate depictions. We don’t object to a walk so no problems getting to the theater. Hosts know their theatre and had great conversations with other guests each morning. Would stay again if back in Ashland but hopefully not when a fire smokes out the town.

On our way home from California, we stopped in Ashland at the Bards Inn. Being in the Downtown area meant we could walk to all the wonderful things the town has to offer including dinner and snacks! The cozy, corner room on the second floor was spacious, clean and comfortable with a couple of chairs and a table for us to use at breakfast. The Front of house staff on arrival and during our visit were polite, responsive and helpful too. We recommend the Bards Inn if you travel to Ashaland Oregon.

After staying here, we decided if we ever built a house of our own, we would pattern it after the McCall House. Soaring ceilings, spacious rooms, beautiful wood floors--exquisite example of Victorian architecture. We stayed in the Sleeping Porch, which is like a mini suite with a fireplace, sitting area and private bath. It was quiet in terms of house noise, but the road noise is noticeable (the price we pay for being so close to everything). The House provides a sleep machine and I slept fine with ear plugs. There is a coffee/tea station on each floor, along with treats and water. Our room also had a wine opener and mini fridge. The Ashland Coop is walking distance for groceries for longer stays, but the location in terms of restaurants, shops, bakeries, plays, etc is unparalleled--less than 100 steps to the heart of downtown. Park your car in their private lot and forget it. The breakfast was phenomenal--a spinach-mushroom-artichoke quiche with thick apple smoked bacon on the side. All their main dishes are vegetarian with the meat on the side. Homemade pastries with coffee in the am. We will definitely go back!

This was a special getaway for my husband, and I wanted everything to be perfect! I spent an exhaustive amount of time looking at every photo I could find of the Winchester Inn to try and find exactly the Room that would suit us the best. Ultimately based on availability, I settled on the Eastlake Room. It has a king size bed, and a seating area that faces the television. My husband likes to travel with a small portable entertainment Box that needs to be plugged in via HDMI to the television set. One of the front staff was kind enough to come down to the Room and check to make sure that that would be possible (it is). He even answered my questions about the bed and if it's comfortable (it is - although on the firm side), and if we'd hear people through the walls (You can hear people walking around in the Room above us, but we can't hear anybody through the walls). Also there were no photos of this room's bathroom anywhere that I could find. That same front desk staff member checked out the bathroom for us to make sure that it would be large enough to not feel like you were entering into some small, dark cave.(it doesn't) Since this is around Christmas, we're enjoying the beautiful Christmas decorations in the main floor and dining areas, and they even have peaceful Christmas music playing. Check in was a breeze, the staff is polite and courteous, and staffer Colton even found us an unused ottoman for our room! When we got to our room, housekeeping had left us truffles, and filled the ice bucket! When we returned after dinner to the room, our bed had been turned down, the decorative pillows from the bed were stowed in the closet, and they'd left us carmels! Breakfast is included, and is served to you restaurant style in the breakfast room. It was delicious! Choice of a waffle, eggs Benedict, egg scramble, or your choice of egg and side - all served with crispy breakfast potatoes, fruit, and fresh scones. My coffee snob husband really enjoyed their house blend coffee, too! When we returned from shopping, housekeeping had cleaned the room, left us cookies, and filled the ice bucket again! We also love the Lithia Spring Resort, but this property is close to Main street and makes it easy to walk to wherever you're going in the downtown area. Free parking, free wi-fi, free breakfast.... love this Inn!

This is one of our favorite places to stay in Ashland. It's location is convenient to downtown shopping/dining and festival theaters and adjacent to a grocery store. Also not far from SOU. Cool amenities include an indoor pool and jacuzzi (open from 7am to 1am), some covered parking, frig and microwave in the room and attached Boulevard Cafe (breakfast and lunch). They have improved their facility for the continental breakfast since our last stay, but scaled it down (bagels, fruit, coffee/tea/juice, instant oatmeal). You can get a 10% discount at Boulevard Cafe with your room key, and if you book directly through the hotel, they provide a $10 voucher for the cafe. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and staff have always been very pleasant and accommodating. I definitely recommend this hotel.

Hotels Near Grotto In Jackson County Review

After several months of 'shelter in place' my family and I went on a beautiful road-trip from our home in Cupertino, California to Oregon and Washington. We usually pave road-trips such as these with our favorite hotel brands with Best Western being at the top of that list based on many years of great experience through both business and personal travel. On this trip, we have saved the best for last - Best Western Crater Lake Highway White City/Medford which we booked a couple of weeks in advance. After a full day of travel and a long 4.5 hours drive; my wife, myself and our three children arrived at the hotel at 10:00pm (July 25th') for our single night before a long drive back to California. We unloaded the car and rolled-in our bags and suitcases to the lobby. The entrance was as you'd expect during COVID-19 times ...but as we went through the doors we noticed the receptionist wasn't wearing a mask at all! There were guests passing through the lobby, in and out, all without masks...in fact, during our entire ~45 minutes there, not a single individual was wearing a mask but us! The receptionist looked us up in the system and found our rooms. After going through the check-in paperworks we recieved room card-keys for both our rooms and went up the elevator to the first one. Our daughter slid-in the key, the door opened and our kids went in ahead of us, and then we heard a grown man shouting at them - the room was occupied! In our room was a middle-aged man with his two kids, spread on the bed, watching TV! Our kids were startled by the unexpectedness of this experience and rushed out and we felt horrible, intruding on the unsuspecting family of guests. We went up to the next room; there we came across a local construction crew, no masks on, holding two huge crates of beer, going into a room right next to us. We snak by them quickly and went into our second 1-king-bed room which luckily was vacant. We left all our luggage there and the whole family went downstairs, back to the reception. After having my family sit on the sofas across the lobby, I went to the receptionist and told him about the unfortunate experience we went through with the occupied room. He rolled his eyes, asked for the room-keys, checked his computer and went up the elevator without saying a word (and no mask on). After about 10 long minutes he came back down, went to his station and checked the computer again. 10 more minutes and he shrugged, came over to us (with no mask on) stood over our kids who were sitting on the lobby sofa not more then 2 fit below him and told us "I'm afraid I have bad news for you folks, the occupied room was yours but the previous shift gave it away to someone else and as the hotel is fully booked, I don't have any other room for you. I can call the other Best Western near us in Medford Oregon and see if they have rooms for you or you can try other hotels maybe"...the time was 10:40pm. I asked him how is it poss

My wife and I were celebrating the 50th anniversary of the day we met. I had looked at several B&Bs in the Rogue valley and surprised her with an overnight at Country Willows. Nestled on a hillside on the southern edge of Ashland is this beautiful B&B. It was only 25 minutes away from our home and provided the perfect romantic getaway. Kara, the proprietor, walked us to our room and she was warm and friendly. In the check in area there are all kinds of homemade treats if you need a snack. The room was beautifully decorated with a fireplace to make it nice and cosy. There is a lovely sitting area with a pool and gazebo outside the suites. Ducks come to visit and look for a handout. There are nice hiking trails surrounding the property. We got up the next morning to a beautiful breakfast of quiche, breakfast meats, juices etc. It is all homemade and very delicious. This beautiful establishment has all the charm you could ever ask for and I highly recommend staying there if you are traveling through the area or just want a romantic weekend.
