The hotel is not big, the location is just across the road from the old campus of St. Andrews University, very close to the commercial street and not far from the old stadium. The breakfast can be said to be relatively rich, there are several kinds of regular meals, and special, which changes with the seasons. The restaurant is almost full on weekends when there is a lot of people, and it is usually better. On-street parking outside the door is free but there is no private parking lot. It is easy to have a place during school holidays. I don’t know at other times.

The surroundings are very good, the golf course is behind the hotel, and you can see the golfers in twos and threes at breakfast. On the far side of the beach is the Oscar-winning film "The Chariot of Fire", the beach is very flat, and walking on the beach is very pleasant. It is quiet at night. The room is similar to the picture, antique. Did not live in the sea view and street view room, there is nothing to look outside. Bottled drinking water is not available at the hotel. The bed is very soft and the waist is not good. The bathroom is large enough, the shower should be in the bathtub, and the legs and feet are inconvenient to be careful. Hot water and drainage are very good. There is heating in the bathroom for clothes and bath towels, which is better than domestic hotels. There are shampoo baths and soaps, no toothbrushes and slippers. The bath towels looked very clean, but I used my own towels, so I didn't care about the hotel. The restaurant is very beautiful, there is buffet and ordering, the buffet is the traditional Chinese bread jam, the milk is cool; order some burgers and fried eggs, English is good, because there is no picture on the recipe. St. Andrews is a quiet and exquisite town, worthy of a leisurely holiday, and it is really beautiful to play golf.

I stayed at the Old Course Hotel the first week of April. I was with several friends on a golf vacation. The hotel is within walking distance of the Old Course and New Course plus the historic town of St Andrews. The hotel is older but is well maintained plus the rooms are big with plenty of room to store your golf equipment. The hotel is beautifully furnished with fresh flowers everywhere. The large floral arrangement in the lobby is spectacular and the woman who maintains it daily is extremely nice. The housekeeping service at the hotel is the best i have ever encountered in my life. My golf buddies and myself have a tendency to rush out the door to start our round of golf and would be pleasantly surprised when we returned to find our mess cleaned to perfection. We all commented that it was the best housekeeping crew we have ever encountered. Every morning we would have breakfast on the top floor of the hotel. It truly was a treat. The view, food and hospitality were OUTSTANDING. My compliments to Pavel and the staff and my morning breakfast was a highlight of the trip. The top floor bar was also a wonderful experience in the evening. The gift shop employees were also extremely helpful but unfortunately, I can not remember any of their names. One young lady even offered to try on different jackets to help me pick out the correct size for my wife and daughters. I can not say enough good things about this hotel and my trip to St Andrews. We did not use the spa at the hotel and the outside jacuzzi appeared to not be working.

The location is a little far away, it's the first time at the B&B, the host is very warm and polite. Breakfast is a simple English meal, which is not a bad thing. However, when we asked if we wanted toast on the first day, we didn't answer, they seemed very unbelievable. The next day is about to cook.

Just back from two nights at this caravan park with our touring van. As local Fifers, we wanted a site not too far from home for our first trip out this season and knew St Andrews was a beautiful place, so choosing here was a no brainer. Prior to arriving, we knew it was contactless check in so had to rely on the map to find out pitch. We expected busy due to it being the holiday weekend and we weren't wrong, however the vans/motorohomes and tents were crammed in like sardines. At no time did we see a warden on duty or indeed any staff at the touring field. Our electricity hook up continually tripped, we were lucky if sometimes we could only use two things at once but having spent time constructing our awning and getting the van sited, moving wasn't an option. As per NUMEROUS other reviews, the shower blocks are disgusting. Cold, dated, dirty and swimming in water. Never saw anyone in the blocks cleaning and there was no facilities to clean out yourself after showering. It's clear the money in the park goes towards the static side and the touring field is just an after thought and money spinner. Spoke with several other campers who were like minded. Such a shame but we won't be back and certainly wouldn't recommend despite the great location and on site food facilities.
