This hotel at the harbour has spacious rooms and various hotelfacilities, which may be expected of a comfortable hotel. A very large swimmingpool, with a separate, ondeep childrens bath, adds to the amenities inside. Breakfast is fine, we did not have dinner there so we cannot comment on that. Staff is friendly, but slow, especially in the restaurant. The hotel seems to be used mainly by golfers, who use the very large golfcourse at the opposite of the street. A good place in Kudat to stay, but more a hotel than a resort.

Me and my friend decided to book 12 day yoga retreat with 6 day notice and it's the best decision we've made! We flew to BKI airport and asked them to arrange the car transport from the airport to the hotel (3hr drive) as there was no flight to Kudat that night. They were very helpful and sent us detailed information about the driver, which made us feel very safe. When arriving to the hotel (came in very late), we were greeting by a friendly staff and taken to the hut. The hut was clean and nice, and very good to have both air condition and a fan. The bathroom had a good shower and was very clean. As they are an eco hotel they did not a have a toilet paper (only a bum gun) which we got used to pretty quickly. The day after we met Iza and put together a schedule for the retreat. They are very accommodating and you can choose most of the activities and skip the one you don't want to do and add those you do like. Rest of the trip was like being wrapped up in a cotton. - The yoga was lovely, mostly thanks to Lily the yoga teacher. She was so inspiring and encouraging that you felt like you could do anything. The feeling to do the sunrise yoga at the shala was amazing. Incredible view and surroundings. - We decided to take the vegetarian option (basically vegan + eggs) and weren't disappointed. Bak Bak jo restaurant was so good, especially thanks to the chef, Azi. It was so versatile and we tasted something new every day and it only got better. Best food we've had and already missing it! - The massage therapist Haina (hope I'm spelling her name correctly) was really good and friendly. - The activities were alot of fun. We did the SUP and kayaks during a picnic at the beach, hiking, trip to the tip of Borneo, snorkelling and Tuesday market in Kudat. Also nice to have the workout zone with the kettlebells and some barbells. Overall great experience and even though you are not doing the retreat option and only staying at the huts, you won't be disappointed. Already miss Iza, Diana, Lily and Azi, they are the best!

Our initial plan was to just stay at the resort, laze and enjoy the beach for a couple of days. On a whim, we decided to try snorkelling and that turned out to be one of the best decisions we could have made. It was our first time snorkelling and given that I am not a very confident swimmer I was very apprehensive. A big shout out to our instructor Bella for ensuring that we felt safe and for her patience, we truly appreciate it! It opened up a whole new world for us and was an experience that we will never forget. I would any day recommend Bella and the dive centre here for first-timers and of course for experienced persons too. The underwater world here is unbelievable to boot. We were also happy to see the big bag that is kept on the boat to collect plastic that is washed ashore onto any island everytime the boat is anchored. Cottages and restaurant - the location is very beautiful, the beach is private and fairly clean. The beach is not a typical sandy beach but has a lot of very interesting rock formations that are pretty intriguing. The chalets are spacious but could do with a little more maintenance(the bathroom locks were not working properly). The staff at the restaurant make up for any minor inconveniences. They are extremely friendly and accommodative. We did notice that they get really tense when the owner is around for dinner though!. Food was expensive but pretty tasty.

You'd believe Tampat Do Aman to be some kind of magical, unmissable place with how much it is bigged up by the writer of the guide book, but you might be in for a disappointing stay if you take the words as gospel. There's not much going on at the tip of Borneo, so when this place is made out to be the epicentre of interest in the area i suppose it's not far from the truth really, but don't count on being entertained for any length of time by the museum, nature trail, the grounds themselves, or other in-house 'attractions' because they are sorely neglected and in a state of disrepair. The whole complex in fact feels tired, run down and you get a sense that perhaps a once buzzing and vibrant place has been all but abandoned and left to crumble. Long time dead and rotten plants in pots line the longhouse corridor, inside the room we had moldy bed linen and a mosquito net full of holes.. Nights were itchy and uncomfortable. We stopped drinking the filtered water from the communal dispenser upon realising nobody was changing or topping it up over the course of the days we stayed. Not to sound pessimistic but who knows how long it had been there before we arrived, as guest turnover was practically non existent. I will stick up for the owner here where some others have put him down. We found him to be helpful, friendly, a great source of information, and the shuttle service - far from ensuring you were a captive audience - was a handy way to get to (by far) the nicest beach in the area. I don't know what kind of entitled mind would think Tampat do Aman have any obligation whatsoever to be at beck and call to ferry guests around the Tip of Borneo whenever and however they please? Where else would a guesthouse or hotel do that? It's perfectly reasonable that they should take you to their own restaurant on the beach. The only restaurant, on the nicest beach! There's really not much else to explore, see or do up here, so this is really as good as it's going to get. Hire an overpriced scooter from Tommy's up the road and go see for yourselves! Food at the restaurant was good, not 'terrific' by any stretch of the imagination, but not bad by any either. It's standard fayre, and a few days is enough to grow tired of the menu, but i don't really know how people could stay in this area for too much longer than that without becoming a bit bored to be honest. It didn't cost much to stay at Tampat do Aman, but it wouldn't cost much to inject a little bit of TLC into the place to make a stay there feel more worthwhile. We were bored, tired and uninspired by the time we left. If you are on limited time in Sabah, unless you simply must see the beach (admittedly very beautiful) , i'd perhaps recommend spending your time and money elsewhere.

This place is really a piece of heaven on earth. The villas are elegantly and cleverly designed using best possible materials for their surrondings, staying at Sunbeam Villa gave us a soothing feel in that heat. It felt like we could spend the rest of our life around that gorgeus pool with emerald green tiles, it is much bigger than how it looks on pictures here :) We never felt this private and exclusive before as we were all alone on that tropical white sand beach in front of the villas, the water was crystal clear. The staff was very friendly and proffesional in the meantime, the food they prepared everyday was really tasty, they also helped us maximise our experience of the area with their tips. You always feel the presence of their kind security personal in wide distance without disturbing which made us feel very safe considering the remoteness of the area, we didnt even lock our room door at night neither when we were on the beach. We had the time of our lives here and would fully recommend the ones who are considering to book, especially it could be a dream location for a Honeymoon!

This place is incredible. We got engaged here! You will feel like you are royals - we had the whole place to ourselves for most of our stay and can’t describe how incredible it is/ the beach that it leads onto- you will not see anyone else. We got a 3 hour shared van from KK to get here (search forums for how to do so) but a much better option would be to fly to nearby airport but I think flights are only on Mondays / Thursdays or something similar. The journey was so worth it when you see what a piece of paradise this was. I think it was our favourite all over Sabah and we stayed in about 4 places. It’s made up of four rooms in a villa like setting- urge you to ask for a top room floor- they are incredible. 4 poster beds, robes, balcony etc. The way food works is that there is a cook there (Rose in our case) and she will just cook whatever you want pretty much for breakfast/lunch/dinner. There is a menu but as we were getting a bit sick of eating so regularly we asked her for much smaller lighter portions. Definitely bring your own booze if you can! We went to a shop in KK and managed to find some gin and tonics. There are some beers here and will be restocked but if you want anything else bring before. We chilled out by the pool for a lot of our time here and also went to ‘the tip of Borneo’ via a taxi lady called Jenny - ask the manager about this. She also took us to Roby’s bar which you must go to just North of Serendipity. It’s an amazing little set up on beach- an array of very cheap cocktails and meals. Rustic feel and Roby who works there is so lovely. Amazing place to chill out at the end of the holiday, bluest water and whitest (emptiest) beach!! Tip- if you want to just cook yourself just tell Rose- we got so sick of the same food and managed to find some pasta! WiFi great. A serendipitous find, we want to come back (the most amazing sunsets of the whole trip too).

We spent 1 night there. Ours was a big group (20 including children), so we booked 6 triple rooms. The rooms were comfortable and clean, with a beautiful beach view. 5 minutes drive from the Tip of Borneo. Felt it was too short, would love to go there again, spend a longer time There was hardly any internet or wifi connection there, a perfect getaway if you would wish to disconnect from the world :-)
